Tried to book a table via the app, which said there wasn't anything available. We thought we would take a chance and walk round and see if there were tables or we'd go with a takeaway option. Good job we did! The place was practically empty. The staff were friendly and welcoming, our waitress gave good recommendations for food options, based on food she herself had eaten. A very pleasant experience. Will visit again.

Absolutely brilliant place to dine. The staff see to your every need,we noticed that the starter we liked was no longer on the menu, we asked about this,the staff member said they don't do it anymore but they could make it up for us which they did. The food was brilliant , Very tasty and cooked to perfection, I can heartily recommend this Pizza Express,we will be going back!!

Very helpful and attentive staff. We came in late with a largeish group when the restaurant was busy without a booking. I would not have blamed them for turning us away! But instead the staff were very accommodating, the food was very good as well. Thanks!!

The restaurant was very cold with all air conditioning units and ceiling fans on. We moved table 3 times because we were so cold. I then watched at least 4 other groups of diners looking up at the ceiling and then moving tables. Many diners put jumpers and jackets on whilst they were eating, and yet the staff seemed to be oblivious! Surely you must be trying to reduce any unwanted costs in these difficult times? You clearly can't afford to have enough staff judging by the amount of time we and a number of other diners waited to pay their bills. So why not turn the bloody air conditioning off and save the electricity. It was only 18C outside for goodness sake! Having said that, the food was fine, our order was taken promptly in the first instance and the staff were very nice. Not sure we will be back any time soon though.

I came to Norwich from Germany to see a football match. The day after I had time to get some food before my flight went. Those pesto pollo really are absolutely great! And the service is perfect! I'll come back whenever I'm there!

Delicious food, staff very friendly, as the restaurant got busier we did find it harder to get the staffs attention and did wait quite some time before being able to get the bill. Coffee machine was broken at time of visit but I understand these things happen. Very cosy atmosphere!

We had a table booked for 5 people but when we arrived they didn’t seem to have the booking but this wasn’t a problem as we got a table straight away, this was at 18:00 on a Wednesday evening but could have been a problem if we had arrived later as the restaurant got busy around 19:00. Good range of vegan items which pleased one of our party. One star knocked off for the toilets...you go downstairs and they are not the cleanest. Good food though, good atmosphere and friendly staff, would recommend to friends. Photo is the salted caramel gelato with extra caramel sauce...delicious!

Recently visited pizza express with a few friends. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. Our waitress, Donna, was very attentive and couldn’t have been more helpful. All in all, a brilliant night out and I would highly recommend.

Great atmosphere to have a quick pizza. On the day I went, the service was slow and was told by their staff that there was a staff shortage ( quite rightly understand). Food was excellent as usually from Puzza Express. Once served, there were no staff to overlook in case needed anything extra. Maybe next time lucky with staff and manpower!

Our waitress was lovely, food was delicious. Don't sit near the door, it's draughty. Knocked a star off because there was a staff member that kept chucking empty bottles into the glass bin. It was really jarring and spoils the atmosphere.

Those reading on Google they have a disabled toilet beware!!! Pizza and service is great, but giving you 3 stars because your disabled toilet is terrible! How you can say you have a disabled toilet I don’t know. I use the baby changing facilities in there and I know My grandad in a wheelchair would struggle to get through your tiny corridor with often a closed door, once chairs in the way and once a cleaning bucket for moping the floor in the way. Even I struggled with that one holding a baby. Not to mention the room itself is not very spacious. I open the changing table and it basically fills the room it’s that small.

Can't say I've ever been disappointed at any Pizza Express location. Our table of five (including two kids) ate everything. Just be weary of drinks as the this can push up your bill rapidly.

Food great, just what you need with a ozza express. Staff were ok, but we had to flag them down three times when we needed things and there were only 3 tables to serve in the whole restaurant at the time.

New salads on menu so was happy. There was plenty to choose from a reduced selection. Service was good. Didn't feel rushed. Prices haven't really changed since last visit which was a good few months ago. Will be going again but probably when restrictions have been lifted.

Your first encounter in a place of service is the most important. And here you will get an amazing impression right from the get go. We hadn't booked and it was a Friday evening so we were expecting get turned away, however we were greeted with a warm smile from the manager and confirmation that we could be seated straight away, making us feel incredibly welcome. The building is incredibly well kept and has an old fashioned but modernistic look to it. The staff all night were absolutely amazing, always having a smile on their face and checking up on us enough but not too much as to be intrusive. They were very informative and let us know exactly if anything wasn't currently available. The drinks we ordered were brought to us very quickly and was a great start to the meal. In terms of food our order was taken, and within five minutes it was on our table, still nice and warm. The starters were amazing and really got our appetites going. The exact same can be said for our mains, quick service and amazingly tasty food. A relatively pricey meal, but to be expected from a restaurant like pizza express, and it's definitely worth every penny of it. 5 Stars, will definitely be returning again.

Great ambience, tasty food but the real star of the show was the server. A lady with blonde hair whose name I didn't catch. She couldn't have been more friendly, polite and generous to our children. I'd hire her in a heartbeat. Perfect personality for a role like hers.

Excellent food as usual and our waiter was friendly and helpful. It was very busy but the wait for nibbles to keep us going until pizzas appeared was rather too long. Also paper sheets were knocked off the bar a few times, picked up off floor and returned which was a little disorganised and not very hygienic. A shame the window festive lights were not switched on a gloomy afternoon.

This is my local Pizza Express, and whilst I'm not a frequent diner, the service today was exceptional from the moment I arrived and continued throughout our time there (we were a party of 6). You can't really go wrong with a Pizza Express; they always seem to get it right. Myself and my partner popped in for a quick bite to eat on a busy Friday, when we hadn't booked in advance, but they were still able to seat us immediately. Service was quick, friendly, and unfussy, and the food was great as always. I would say that it is better for groups at busier times, as the venue seems to carry noise quite a bit, so if there are any particularly noisy punters, you can struggle to hear yourself.

Went out for last minute birthday tea for my daughter.. the service was by far the best we've received for a long time. Friendly and very accommodating. The food was fantastic. We were served by a blonde and a brunette lady who were always smiling and checking everything was okay. I dont always leave a tip as it's not always deserved but was more than happy to leave a good tip for these two ladies.. top job!!

Comparing this Pizza Express to their other restaurant in The Forum, highlights quite a contrast. The Forum is bright and roomy, with a lovely view. St Benedict's is dark, cramped and very noisy. But the food remains on par, I have never had a bad pizza at Pizza Express and the staff are pleasant too. Be prepared for an element of chaos when they are busy.

Usually have offers for 2 course's for £9.95 and 3 course's for £12.95. Open from 11.30 am to 11.00 pm every day. The food and staff have always been excellent. If you like spicy ask for extra chilli on the American Hot Pizza 😀

The dough balls are to die for. I always get the Leggera pizza with the whole in the middle filled with salad so I don't feel quite so quilty(600 cals). The service was excellent and I like the lighting and the old whearhouse look of the St Benedics restaurant.

Had a wonderful time here. Five of us for a night out and we were very well looked after. All the staff were friendly and polite, the food was excellent (I recommend the Pollo Forza) and the atmosphere was perfect. Couldn't fault a thing.

Really enjoyed a few family visits here. Excellent value kids menu with the courses. I can recommend the Fiorentina pizza with pancetta instead of olives - works excellently with the egg and spinach and Gran Milano. Plus, this is definitely my preferred PE in Norwich, being quieter and thus more relaxed to me. Note, though, that the only toilets of which I'm aware are downstairs.

Very expensive for what it is, there aren't any normal sauces like ketchup etc. Tables are very small. You can "upgrade" your pizza for £1.95 to make it thinner; which means its then paper thin and harder to cut. Didn't see the point as the normal pizza isn't deep pan anyway and is £1.95 less.
