If you want real and authentic Italian food, this is it (as verified my Italian friend)! There’s plenty of Piccolino branches in the UK so you might be surprised to find it’s near your home too. It may be pricey at first glance, but you see why when tasting the food; all the fresh ingredients and cleverly picked out. This spot is great for a treat! The decoration was outdated but it still gives a European feel with the photographs hanging on the walls. There’s plenty of tables to seat a lot of people. Although it’s best to book a reservation just in case you get unlucky. If I had to nit-pick something about the restaurant, I wish they had more vegetarian options. As a vegetarian, I had limited options compared to other restaurants but overall this was a must-eat place.

Went to Piccolino for a date night. Its a lovely restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere. It's perhaps a little more expensive than some other restaurants, but when you try the food you understand why. Food was absolutely amazing, my partner had lasagne, she said it was the best she'd had in years. I had rib eye, it was fantastic quality and perfectly cooked. Also the waiting staff were very good, there when you need them and not when you don't. Will definitely return

I have to shout out the amazing service at Piccolino Restaurants in Nottingham! We visited last week after a busy summer, and we were a little nervous to take our six year old who was in a post-holiday grump. We were sat at the back with a direct window into the kitchen which kept him engrossed. The waiting staff were friendly and explained the different options, whilst keeping the little one entertained. Particular shout out to the waiter who put ketchup on his finger to pretend it had been cut in the Jamon slicer, he LOVED that. The food was amazing, very fresh and options for vegetarians, meat eaters and even gluten-free which was great to see. Our little one watched the kitchen for so long, they came out with a bag of marshmallows and he was smitten. The whole Piccolino Nottingham team needs a shout out, they were amazing! An adult restaurant, which welcome's families, amazing.

The service is professional, friendly, impeccable ! The food is exquisite. As a starter, we’ve had some oysters which were delivered yesterday. They were so fresh and tasty! Also we’ve had the capresante which is made with brocoli, scallops and sausage. It was delicious and the sauce is to die for. As mains, we’ve had the spaghetti frutti di made and a risotto frutti du mare, both delicious and in generous portions.

Nothing special and not worth the prices they were charging. A large number of their dishes were unavailable, now this might be due to recent delivery shortages etc which can't be helped but when your first, second and third choices are not available it gets a little underwhelming. The starters were good but most of us were underwhelmed by our mains and the desserts were good but nothing special. I'd expect more when paying those prices. Also tables are incredibly close together, too close for comfort.

This is a proper Italian Restaurant - seemingly run by Italians. What that means is that ever so slightly 'efficient' service, rather than friendly service. The food we had was good - but expensive. Wine was very expensive. These are not necessarily criticisms, but anyone going here needs to understand that it won't be a 'cheap night out'.

We had a great experience, mostly because staff was super friendly, and that is probably the only reason why I rate 4 stars this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, food was ok, but for the price we've paid I was expecting way more. I strongly recommended to go for the 3 course meal deal they have, even if your choice will be quite small, otherwise I would suggest to choose fish plates (Spiedini were superb) over anything else (Steak was nothing special and it comes with no sides at all).

Fantastic food and service. You can obtain a loyalty card and get money off your next meals. There's sometimes money off on drinks and seasonal menus with the loyalty card. Never had a bad experience here. The staff are great. Only gripe I have is it's location, bit of a distance from the centre of town for me but it doesn't put us off going back time and time again

Excellent restaurant, professional staff, great food, authentically Italian. The menu changes by the season. Although there are regular dishes on it. It's easy to get a table and it's easy to get a hold of a waiter if need be. The food is always served with all the trimmings. The staff are understanding and helpful, should you have a problem. They even have a loyalty scheme, should you be so inclined. Honestly, I can recommend this place highly enough. Would give it six stars if I could.

The waiting staff were polite and genuine Italian waiters. We had a choice from a lunch menu or main menu. The food was excellent and the atmosphere nice. This was a great place for a leisurely lunch-time meal. We were greeted in a friendly manner and led to a suitable table (my father has limited mobility, so needs a bit more space). The menus were promptly provided, both a la carte and lunchtime.There was a very good range of dishes on offer, at quite reasonable prices. And when they came, they were very tasty and well presented. The staff kept a good eye on things without being at all intrusive - we saw them deal with a glass of wine which had been knocked over on another table quickly, efficiently and without any fuss. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be looking for an opportunity to go back.

I have eaten at most of the local restaurants and Piccolino three times. I have to say the service has been EXCELLENT every time as has the food. There are so many generic bland poor Italian restaurants, Piccolino is not one of them. Their dishes and the produce that goes into making them are all top class with excellent flavour and seasoning. It’s a shame the previous reviewer had a bad service experience and if someone was like that to me I’d feel the same but I haven’t personally experienced this.

Visited on a Saturday evening, it had a great feel to it, a buzzing atmosphere but still private. The service was fantastic, very attentive, waitress took our drinks from the bar area to our table which is always nice but not always expected. Food was great, one of our party sent a fillet steak back as it was not cooked to his liking, it was no problem, a new steak arrived within 5 minutes. Great food, amazing service and good decor.

We joined our friends in the bar area and enjoyed a nice glass of wine from a decent selection. Service was attentive (but not too much so), prompt and professional. The food was great and could not be faulted in any way. Atmosphere was appropriate for any occasion as there are several areas of seating to cater for the quiet intimate meal or a more lively group. Would recommend to anyone and will be returning.

Excellent service, the waitstaff were friendly and interactive and often came to our table to ensure our satisfaction. A member of our group was a Piccolino employee and we recieved special treatment because of this. We recieved delicious plates of antipasti (starters) without extra charge. I ordered the Melanzane alla Parmigiana due to being recommended to do so by one of my friends. However, we both did not enjoy the meal as the expectations of its quality were set very high by the Parmigiana we ate at a different branch of the same restaurant. Overall we had a good experience at Piccolino. They offer very good membership deals if you are willing to register.

I heard many people talking about Piccolino in a bad way. But I really wanted to test before judge it. I think the best compliment is about the staff. We've been served very nicely, at the reception an incredibly smiley guy welcomed us. Our waitress ,Serena...no words but amazing. Lucas super friendly. I couldn't say a bad word about the people we met. Now... inside wasn't really great, reminded me a posh version of a fast food, not a great Italian touch in terms of furnitures. The food, wasn't bad, but wasn't great. The mix of bruschettas was a bit ...honestly tasted like was coming from a can. Our main course,the farfalle al salmone was poor in flavour, not much salmon in there, and the cream was very mild. As Italian myself ,we never put cheese in fish dish, but probably i made a mistake, at least I could had taste something. Let's be honest , Piccolino is just ok,but became a "meh" for prices. I don't think I will be back.

The dining areas are nice and cosy and not cramped. The food is varied and interesting, with flavours that are second to none. I had the pasta bolognese which I thought tasted absolutely perfect. My girlfriend had crispy skin duck and thoroughly enjoyed it, infact she wanted a second helping. The waitress was super friendly and she ensured we were well looked after without being overbearing. I will say the bill was quite large, larger than we normally spend but you get what you pay for I guess. Overall would go back in a heartbeat.

I've visited Piccolino on two occasions now. The first time was a pre-show dinner and the second a relaxed lunch. The first occasion we had a wheelchair with us. The staff took our coats and took the wheelchair away for us after we had all seated ourselves. The staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered starters and they advised us to only order two of them as they were very large. Refreshing to be under rather than oversold. Between us we ordered two Pane All’Aglio starters. These are very big! One will easily feed 3 people. For mains we ordered the Bucatini alla carbonara. Calzone Vesuvius, Pollo Milanese and Penne All’Arrabbiata . They were all lovely, the only problem was the tomatoes on the Pollo Milanese were a little bitter, but nothing to really complain about. For Desserts we sampled the Crostata di mele, tortino cioccolato and the frutto della passione. the crostata and the tortino were delicious. The passion fruit sorbet however was incredibly tart. Which is great if you like it that way, but not entirely palatable. We ordered drinks both hot and cold. The second visit, we both had the Calzone vesuvius and for dessert the Crostata di mele and tortino cioccolato. The staff were once again welcoming, polite and ready to help. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
