Reviews of Bbuona

I've been here on a Thursday afternoon,. Here the quality of pizza is over other restaurants in oxford. Some of them are more expensive. We've had parmigiana as well, but I have to say, wasn't great, to sweet from my point of view, . There are outdoor tables where you can seat, and enjoy a great beer,. Staff is ok, they will not stress you out to order or something like that.

Very busy and considerable small place. Staff are friendly and food is served quickly. For the price, the portions were rather small but the dough was incredibly filling. Dough was really nice though. The aubergine pizza had a touch of some oil or something which gave the aubergine a too salty taste, would have preferred without.

I don't know where to even begin!! This restaurant is by far my most favorite restaurant I’ve ever went to, it was super clean and looked super cozy, the staff were so friendly it felt like I was home surrounded with family ❤️, the food was absolutely delicious, I ordered Lasagna and I guess based on the picture you can tell how delicious it was 😍❤️ I highly highly HIGHLY recommend this place, the prices were acceptable compared to the portion you get. I can’t wait to go back there again.
Perfect to go there with the family, but even better to go there on a date.
P. S.
The staff were extremely busy (swamped with pre-theatre guests), but still gets 5stars!
It's a small restaurant, but the food was incredible! The staff were friendly and helpful, we were seated during a very busy period without a booking, and the food was served very promptly (considering how busy the restaurant was).
After discovering 'Pinsa', I doubt 'Pizza' will ever be the same.
We ordered;
~Lasagne Bolognaise
= 5+ stars
~Cannelloni Ricotta&Spinach
= 4 of 5 stars
~Friarielli (Sourdough Pinsa)
=4.25 of 5 stars
~Cappuccino+extra espresso
= 3 of 5 stars
~Flat White (coffee)
= 4 of 5 stars
~Bona Aranciata (carbonated orange soft drink)
= 5+ stars
~ Service:
We were not greeted or seated by staff (we seated ourselves at the only table available).
We had to go to the counter to place our order. A staff member brought us some cutlery over, prior to bringing the food/drinks.
*Note: Our food was served very promptly. I was notably impressed.*
No staff checked-back on us after the food was delivered.
A floor manager(?) briefly asked how our meal was, as we were leaving.
I personally prefer this informal arrangement, but know that some do not.
I was a bit unsure of how to proceed initially, and nobody gave directions contrary to how we proceeded.
~ Portions:
The non-pinsa portions were small for the larger appetite, but I left comfortably full (lasagne and half a Pinsa).
The flavours/ingredients were amazing, and a welcome change to the mainstream options.
~ The Pinsa (not-a-pizza):
Could possibly have benefitted from more toppings (some of the sourdough was dry), but using the dry sections with my lasagne bypassed the situation.
~ Soft drink of note:
The bottled orange soft drink was beautiful. I highly recommend to anyone who is sick of Fanta/Tango/sanpellogrino/orangina monopolising the orange soft drink market. This little beut exposes just how rubbish the mainstream options are!
~ The hot drinks:
Come in small cups, and in all honesty, not the best coffee of type I have had (I like very strong coffee).
~ Prices:
Were rather high, but to break away from the mainstream mush, I wouldn't say 'too high'.
Lasagne, Cannelloni, Pinsa, Cappuccino(+espresso shot), and a soft drink bottle came to £44.21.
~ Wheelchair Access:
Access for slim wheelchairs 'should be' OK. The entrance is a single door on flat ground. The door opens outwards on the left side. Inside the door, there is a small table ahead, with the counter running inwards along the left.
It is a small restaurant, with a fairly narrow walkway.
There are a few small tables outside, which could be quite pleasant in the warm weather.
~ Parking:
In Oxford?... Is a pricey proposition.
We parked at the Westgate centre, and walked across the city centre.
There is a car park (Worcester Street) which is much nearer (there is a fixed rate for P&D between 20:00 and 08:00am).
My reviews typically focus on the negatives(?).
If I mention specific positives, they should really stand out.
I would definitely eat here again, and definitely (enthusiastically) recommend to anyone who enjoys Italian/Romana cuisine.
I just wish that I lived locally to eat here more often!
My overall visit, for company of 2, and during a very hectic pre-theatre rush, and bad weather, considering all things, is still 5 stars (4.8 if being harsh).

Very tasty Pizza, you can tell they use fresh authentic ingredients. Lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and we only waited about 15 mins on a Saturday lunchtime so quick service.
Vegan and gluten free options available which is good

OMG! Tasty! So truly Italian!
Its is so nice to transcend time and space when you enter Bbuona. Instant transformation into the italian athmosphere: people speak with an italian accent, hande made pinsa and everything was so vibrant... Anxiously we were expecting our order to be delivered to the table: creativa salads and pinsa Salame, pinsa bread. If you really look forward to the taste of true italian pizza in Oxford, this place is offfering best pizza ever!

My friend and I were passing through Oxford for the day and felt like Italian food and I feel lucky that we did because Bbuona was like a hidden gem. It felt like we could've been in Italy! The atmosphere was so uplifting and the staff were so friendly and positive like human rays of sunshine. The food was delicious and I regret being too full to eat more!

This is the best gluten free pizza I've ever had hands down. My partner and I shared the carbonara pizza and the Bbuona and they were absolutely fantastic, the burrata with olive oil on the Bbuoana was so fresh and delicious. As I told the staff at Bbuoana it was so good I wanted to cry. I felt safe eating here as there are signs saying that gluten free food is made in a separate area and in a separate oven and the gf pizzas are visibly different than the gluten full pizzas which always makes me feel safer. Most importantly I didn't get contaminated!

Personally I prefer crispy pizza (I am not sure it is Rome style that is soft; I only know there are two style). While it is soft but that is not US style.
Anyway I enjoy the Margaritas and the Italian beer. It is posted that the materials are imported from Rome. One thing I am very fond of is the Olive oil. The restaurant has in store and outside dining area. The staff is nice and the environment is casual and pleasant. A typical Italian style I think. Worth to try.
