The manager is amazing and truly makes this place. The decor is also very smart! There are lots of items on the menu which is not available for delivery via deliveroo or Uber. I would recommend making a booking on weekends. Food was nicely presented but nothing amazing for the price. The bruschetta was over priced and very average. Would probably not go back.

Brilliant service, food and price. We walked in with toddler and baby and they were really accommodating and friendly. All the little touches such as crouching down to the table to talk to the toddler, as well as giving her a bread stick. Really helped to make our experience great. Would love to go again.

Visited this restaurant 13th July 2022 - hadn’t got a reservation but were greeted warmly and seated straight away. Manager was extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble - it was a warm day and straight away our table was provided with a pitcher of water. Food was delivered quickly and cooked to perfection. Overall a very pleasant meal with lovely staff - would highly recommend.

Not sure if they still do this, but we had been to Bella Italia for a afternoon tea a while ago. Very different take on a traditional afternoon tea with a nice selection of pizzas and desert to choose from. Very friendly staff and good italian food. Theirs pizzas are a must try.

I had my first traditional pasta and pizza here at bella italia oxford. We ordered our food and it came to us with delicious aroma and quite hot actually. There, the staff was friendly and the restroom was just clean. Although, here the price is not so experienced and not so crowded like other fast food places.

The only place where we could find a table for four, on a Saturday evening, without booking ahead. Food was good, the service was OK, friendly stuff, and quite helpful. The toilets could use some TLC, and also the ventilation needs to be improved on the hallways leading to the toilets, as there is an unpleasant smell in that area.

Went there craving pasta and both dishes were just about average (between 10-13£ each). The Agnella (trusted pasta with slow cooked lamb) was too dry and the King prawn spaghetti tasted good but but just not quite like pasta. Went for the Sicilian Lemon Cheesecake for dessert and the topping was too zesty for my liking, though the cheesecake and the crust were nice. Overall an average experience

Really enjoyed the food there. In my opinion the portion sizes were good for a light lunch. Unfortunately the mocktails we ordered, although when arriving tasted splendid, did start to water down due to the ice. Maybe should make they alittle stronger so the dilution isn't too bad. Service is good and played attention without standing over our heads too much. Overall a good casual food spot.

Lovely food. Issue with the bill though. I was given 1 menu which I ordered from and I assumed as I had picked items from the set menu (which is on the back of the normal menu) this is what I would pay. The person who brought the bill said while ordering I should have mention I was ordering from the set menu as I would have received a smaller meal to reflect the cheaper price. There was no way I could have known this when I ordered and while the food was lovely it did put a downer on the end of the meal. I wasn't asked so how would I possibly have known to specify this while ordering.

This place was amazing. The waiter was a very fun guy, and was extremely nice, even with a sprained arm! We were greeted at the booking table with a smile, up until we left. I fully recommend this place if you want a fancy eatery for birthdays or a party of some sort. Waiter was tipped £5, but would have tipped £500 If I had the money. The food was also very good, and we saw them clean tables which ensured that the whole table was clean. Very sanitary.

Tried their breakfast menu recently, really good choice of food with lots of options, I really enjoyed the potatoes that they serve. The food is very nice and the staff are even better. The caveat is the service times and inefficiency. The staff is very apologetic and friendly, but they have consistently made mistakes in the various times I've been here. The food takes around 40 mins to arrive and something is often not available from the menu. Tldr: good food, and staff but long waits and inefficient

Absolutely fabulous! My last few experiences at Bella hadn't been great, so I reluctantly dined because it was conveniently next to the theatre. Staff, very attentive and great! The food was wonderful and so were the drinks, couldn't fault a thing... Well maybe the absolute mission to the toilet, I kid you not!

Visiting Norwich for a weekend am soo gratefull I came across this little gem of a place. Place was really clean with exceptional staff who were really lovely and bubbly. The food was also really fresh and exceptional they also grate cheese block and really fresh black pepper if you ask for it ontop of your food which was of really fresh quality. Overall was really happy with portion size, freshness of ingredients and service.Really lovely place to grab a decent hearty meal. Highly recommended for good food experience

Got to Oxford today (first post-covid trip, yay!) And so many places have been closed. We wandered around for awhile until we found Bella Italia and were immediately charmed by it's warm, welcoming atmosphere, prices they've worked hard to keep as reasonable as they can in this era and food on an outdoor menu that sounded amazing. We went in and were quickly greeted cheerfully from the back where several people were discussing something and were quickly met by our host and server, Sarah, who had us ensconced quickly with a lovely cheerful smile and welcome. She left us with our menus so we could peruse them. I am happy to say she was one of those wonderful waitresses who know exactly how much time you need because she knows to watch for when you put the menus down. Shortly after the menus closed and hit the table, she was back to take our order. We decided to go with the set menus for both of us because it would let us get a little taste of everything and when asked our waitress was quick and helpful to give us her favourites and some highlights of several of the dishes. We made our order and settled in to wait. Fortunately it seemed like no time at all before our appetizers came out. Both were small in size, but since we knew we were getting three courses they seemed about right. The meatballs were incredibly tender and flavorful with a marinara sauce that was definitely not out of a bottle but properly stewed and delicious. The crustini that came with them were perfectly toasted, not so hard that you felt like you would break a tooth, but definitely crunchy. The little sliced peppers added nice bursts of heat too. The arancini came with five tiny balls that looked perfectly fried to perfection. I was a little skeptical when they came out that they would be cooked properly, but was delighted when I bit into them. Soft cheesy goodness immediately oozed out of a perfectly crunchy shell. I don't typically like mayo, but the little mayo mix they added was delicious. For the first time ever I actually ate the whole container of dipping sauce and was actually glad they had put so much in it. (I also stole a crustini and put the little bit of extra mayo on it!) For the mains I had the Funghi Crema, which I was expecting to be very heavy but was surprisingly light. (This was good because dairy is not always my friend but I love cream sauces). The pasta was cooked al dente, for my own tastes I might have preferred maybe 5-10 more seconds so if you prefer softer pasta, keep that in mind. It was fresh made though, and thick cut, and very tasty. The star of the dish was by far the mushrooms (as it should be!), I saved them for last and used them to scoop up the remainder of the sauce. The carbona with the extra chicken was our other main and the pancetta was perfectly crispy. When given a bite the response was, "the perfect distillation of the essence of pork". The rest of the dish disappeared so fast that I can't comment much on it, but the absolute bliss on his face as he made it disappear leaves me thinking he enjoyed every bite. As we got the set menu with three courses (for an amazing deal price!!!!) We also had a desert each. By this point it was confirmed to us that the size of the appetizers was actually perfect for the three courses. He got the cookie al forno with a super thick caramel sauce and a scoop of gelato. Oh. My. I'm a bit skeptical of those kinds of cookies because I'm not a fan of under baked dough, but he gave me a bite and I have to say it was what all those cookies really should be. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and beautifully soft and delicious but totally baked. It was one of the best bites of cookies I've ever had, and definitely the best cookie of that style I've ever had. I would have been happy with just the cookie and the caramel sauce, though he was thrilled with the gelato addition and told me that the trio of flavours was splendid. I had the tiramisu. It was perfect. If you're heading out to Oxford anytime soon you'll miss a delicious treat if you miss Bella Italia. Don't lose out!

Although the rating that I have put seems quite high, I did so in order not to cause a damage to the very polite staff of the restaurant. The food stands for quite low standards for Italian cuisine. Needs much improvement to be called "Italian" restaurant. Hope this helps the management to improve it. If you REALLY know about GOOD Mediterranean cuisine, you will understand!

The food was delicious! Really lovely when places like Bella Italia offer "kids eat for £1" etc deals during holidays. Kids can have a three course meal off the main menu, lots of choice and they can modify plates for picky eaters 👌🏽 The staff were so welcoming too which makes it an even better experience. It was a busy Saturday night (9th December 2017); however, we had booked ahead, so our table was waiting. The service was good and the food freshly cooked and all three us enjoyed a variety of dishes from the bread and olives, the ragout and risotto. We finished with a selection of deserts which were beautiful. The bill was reasonable and we got 20% off the food as my partner works for the NHS. Thoroughly recommend and would go there again if we were in Oxford

Inviting, clean, beautiful surroundings. These are just a few of the qualities of Bella Italia in Oxford. The staff are friendly and attentive and make you feel very welcome and comfortable. The Italian food is exquisite, with choices of all the favorites and other English popular dishes with an Italian twist, all served with artistic flair but not so much that you just want to look at your plate and wonder what to do with it! Oh no, when you see it you want to tuck right in alright!! The portion sizes are generous in all the right places, and if you are lucky enough to be able to try some of your friend's/relatives plate you can be sure you'll want to have that too next time you come 😍 I'm looking forward to the next excuse for a celebration so I can go back again soon. I had a wonderful experience here on Tuesday evening. It was busy and nice to see people enjoying themselves. My food was delicious, the service great, Alex was his name. Everyone was wearing masks and the staff were stood on their safe distance spots on the floor. The managers were as friendly as they have always been, a twinkle in their eyes, just a shame had to distance from us regulars and all of this whilst on a government scheme night, so great value. The food has always been good, especially the garlic bread starter. The service needs improving. Booked a table for 7, turned up at 7 and asked about a recent offer i had seen. Wasn't greeted by staff and felt as though the front of house staff member i spoke to wasn't too pleased to speak to me. We waited for 15 minutes awkwardly stood in the door way (as they have nowhere for new customers to wait to be seated) until we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Customers were constantly looking at us and it felt very awkward standing in the way/in front of tables waiting to be served. There were 4 staff members on the floor and approximately 32 covers (customers). There were many empty tables all around. 2 other couples came, waited by the door with us, then left due to no one bothering to talk to them. Dissapointing service. There are many other great Italian restaurants in Oxford so it isn't a huge loss. I won't be going to Bella Italia again any time soon. Other members of my family/friends experienced the same treatment/service from staff.

Friendly staff, baby changing facilities and high chairs . Kids menus have smaller plates for very young kids and bigger portions for slightly older ones. Perfect for my 2 kids who have a 8 year gap (10yr old and 18 month old). Food is fantastic and fresh .! Disabled toilets are in easy access, but the other toilets are downstairs through a maze of corridors (but well sign posted ) great place , I would highly recommend

Since I started getting the 40% vouchers - I've been twice in the past 6 weeks and honestly the service I get from Alex is nothing short of phenomenal. Always service with a smile, respectful, chatty when appropriate and great for recommendations. The food quality is fantastic, the prices are really good - and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. Nothing too pretentious like SOME other similar restaurants, warm and inviting, not too crowded - but enough tables for the Saturday evening rush. Will be returning!

We had such a wonderful experience during our visit here recently. I absolutely loved that firstly they had gluten free options and that they came with their own gluten free stickers! The staff was friendly and totally amazing!! As someone with celiac it is so wonderful going to a place and having a wonderful meal and knowing and trusting that the food is not only safe but oh so good. Highly recommend the prawns and the mozzarella sticks....just saying!!

Went on one of the Wuntu offers. Service was very slow. Our food sat on the counter ready to be brought to our table for nearly 10 minutes while the manager was chatting away. I'd be infuriated if I'd paid full price. Pizza was pretty good, though.

Really lovely food and good value for money! Unfortunately, the service is not brilliant as it is really slow here and waiters don't seem to notice you waving your arms about for attention. Once, midway through the meal, we were asked to move tables and then as we collected our meal and bags together we were suddenly asked to stay put without explanation. On that same night, I asked for tap water 3 times which never came and had to wait twenty minutes extra for my meal after everyone else had been served. Tackling this flaw would certainly improve the place.

I had lunch on a Saturday when Oxford was very busy. Luckily I arrived at about 1245 because by 1315 there was a queue at the door. The place is completely unpretentious (I like that) and genuinely Italian, as was the food I selected. The organisation must have improved since some reviewers' visits because the staff were polite and helpful and the service was quick enough. It was evident that many people were regulars, and family parties had agreed to meet there for lunch after going their own different ways in the morning. This is not the behaviour of customers who have been disappointed in the past. I will certainly go again if need to eat in Oxford.

I had a Americano burger which was exceptable but I would have preferred it to have been on a plate rather than a board. My partner had the lasagne which was somewhat disappointing with little or no substance to it. We didn’t think the meal represented real value for money and wouldn’t visit Bella Italia again.

To celebrate all our recent achievements my (adopted) aunt treated myself, my mother and my (adopted) cousin to a meal. I have recently got a place at Nottingham Trent university, my mum on a new Open University course studying Philosophy and religion, and Nathaniel has just been awarded amazing grades for his GCSE examinations. Her place of choice? Bella Italia, an Italian food chain both authentic and reasonably priced. We arrived promptly at seven. Sitting down, we were surrounded by delicious smells, homely Italian décor and excitement. POLLOPIZAThe restaurant was somewhat busy, and it took the waiter some time before he approached us. Not the biggest eaters we ordered mains, neglecting the appetising starters. My mother and aunt had the pollo picante, a spicy chicken pizza garnished with onions and green chillies. It could not have been particularly spicy as the pair dashed for some additional chilli oil. Nathaniel opted for the pesto genovese, consisting of thick pasta tubes, chicken, tomatoes, green beans and basil pesto. The portion large and fragrant, he devoured the lot impressively. I had to ruin all of this Italian splendour with the simplistic pollo ciabatta, a chargrilled chicken, lettuce, red onion and POLLOCIABATTIAmayonnaise ciabatta. This was accompanied by thick chips and a smoked tomato and onion relish, although this garnish was not as advertised and I am pretty sure I had Heinz to accompany my meal. The mains were delicious and flawless. Our only dissapointment came at the blasé attitudes of the staff present, particularly our waiter who seemed content in his own world. It took him an age to ask us what we would like to order, take away our plates and present the bill, leaving us constantly searching for our waiter. The entrance door was left wide open for the majority of the evening, leaving us a tad chilly as we sat underneath the ample air conditioning vents. However, desert kept the smiles on our faces as we ordered two of the torta limone (my mother and aunt seemed to be mirroring one another this evening), a cookie dough lava cake and a cioccolato diavola (or a brownie with ice cream for those of us who struggle with their Italian). These were all magnificent. The torta limone was presented chilled, garnished with strawberries. Me and Nathaniel’s deserts on the other hand were served warm with vanilla pod ice cream. The entire meal came to £70 for the four of us, ridiculously cheap in my opinion. We left two hours later, stuffed and smiling. The conversation and fun of the evening making it a great family affair. I would definitely recommend visiting your local Bella Italia restaurant, just be sure to keep your waiters attention, I think all those delicious smells leaves them a tad confused!

I like the buzzing atmosphere here. They are always busy, so it's advisable to book ahead. Allow plenty of time as the service is a little slow, which is often the case in a busy restaurant. Pre-theatre I allow 1 & a half hours to eat & walk to the theatre. The food is a good standard for a restaurant "chain". Contrary to previous comments I have always found the staff to be exemplary & to make me feel comfortable when eating alone.
