Great price and great selection!! Although it was Friday evening and it was busy we were able to go which was great! The service was a little slow and only one waiter was going around where the other two were waiting? So having this fixed will make it even better. Having some chefs recommendations or customer favourite son the menu will be great. The food was ok and for Oxford being quite expensive it was quite nice to have a place where all the mains where around £10.

Probably the best Italian place in all of Oxford. The food is amazingly done with the Italian "home feeling" all over. The staff is very nice and a big plus to the head waiter who was both professional and friendly. It is a hidden gem in central Oxford and well woth a visit. Recommendation : The Tiramisu..probably one of the best ones I have eaten.

Environment: ☆☆☆☆ Food:☆☆ The aglio olio tastes good but it has only vegetarian option. The carbonara tasted extremely ordinary and could have been better. The coffee tastes like instant coffee. Price: cheap, especially its lunch menu.

Firstly, the food was very good. I cook pizzas at home on a professional wood fired oven and I would love to be able to make them as good as Gino’s. The restaurant is rustic which is nice. Negatives for us was mainly down to service. Our drinks were served in a can and were room temperature with only 2 ice cubes in each glass. I asked for more ice cubes and never received them. We had 2 ladies serving us and they never smiled or spoke. Literally nothing. It was very weird, and I wondered in the end if they could speak English. There was a man there that was polite and I think I would have given 4 stars if he had been the waiter. Very disappointing considering the food was nice. There is a service charge added onto the bill that I considered asking to be removed but I wondered what I would really be achieving by making this point when I was with my family for a day out. Such a shame.

As ever, the food at Gino's was delicious and plentiful and the service was warm and welcoming. They were very accommodating of a large group at short notice (and very tolerant of the size of the group shrinking by the minute) and remarkably tolerant of our overstaying our welcome with coffee. I have been already twice and I enjoy the food, pizzas are really yummy. I tried the parmigiana and it was really nice nice even though it was served without bread and they apologised at the end of the evening. I tried the carbonara and it was OK, nothing amazing. The restaurant itself is not really extraordinary, very basic with no effort to be a presentable place, staff not interested to smile or giving you the Italian experience as it should be. If I go it's only down to the food.

We were at Gino's for my niece's wedding lunch.It was my first visit, but the welcome we received from Liberato and his staff was like we were very important guests and were made to feel relaxed and comfortable. He really helped create a warm, fun atmosphere. Nothing was impossible. The food was flowing, delicious. So many starters. I really enjoyed my mushroom risotto and lemoncello. After dining, he let us take photos outside and throw confetti. Then he also let us have the wedding cake cutting there. Oh.. And he set up the tables for us. Liberato you are one of a kind, you took the stress away from us, so we could all enjoy the special day. Thank you does not seem enough.. We will be back 🎉🌹 I made to feel so comfortable and relaxed... The food was delicious. Afterwards when we were well fed, he let us take photos outside and throw confetti... He also let us cut the wedding cake which he had organised!! Liberato really added to making the day truly memorable.. Thank you Liberato and staff. We will be back

Quality food paired with exceptional and attentive service, along with very quick delivery of food to the table, add up to a fantastic dining experience. Very few places I have been to have served such good Italian dishes or have had such an extensive menu! The spaghetti carbonara was delicious, as was the tagliatelle della casa 🍽️ One of Oxford's little gems - I can't believe I didn't know this place existed, although it is somewhat tucked out the way round the back of Gloucester Green! I definitely recommend 💯

Family and wheelchairs welcomed. Great food with excellent service. Don't miss dining here. I see a bad review regarding the pizza, I can assure you it was fresh ingredients and never ever had a salty sauce. Someone had an off day. Quite right it does not compare with Jamies or Zizzi this is the real thing that you would see in Italy not fancy but a genuine family restaurant. We have been dozens of times with our disabled son who they make a fuss of. Please try I hope you love it as much as we do but remember everything is cooked to order.

Exquisite food in an unassuming establishment, inexpensive and with a nicely manageable menu. Not one of the corporate wannabees that try to spread their menu's wide and shallow in an attempt to maximise profit. Instead you get a decent choice of obviously well practised dishes to really savour and enjoy. Where else do you get a bottle of balsamic vinegar and a bottle of olive oil as table condiments? Now, as to prices, extremely good value, being both inexpensive and affordable giving an end result of priceless...

I visited Gino's with my partner a few weeks ago and wasn't sure what to expect. I soon found out - a lovely ambience, friendly and helpful team and absolutely incredible food. My partner and I were torn over what to order and wanted a few dishes. When we asked if the kitchen could create a starter size portion of the gnocchi they were more than happy to oblige us. I'm so glad that they did as it tasted sublime. For the main course I had the Tortellini Bolognese which was delicious and my partner said his Spaghetti Carbonara was the best that he has ever had (and he is supremely picky about his Carbonara I can tell you). I'm looking to move to the Oxford area in the next few months and I will definitely be making a visit to Gino's a regular occurrence!

We chose this restaurant yesterday for the first time. When we got there we were greeted by genuine kind staff members who were very accommodating and tentative. They asked us where we would prefer to sit which I think is very important. This is a very cosy little restaurant. The food was amazing and the portions are perfect! Our experience was very special and we will definitely be returning. They offer such a good service and they deserve high praise for their efforts. I was obsessed with this place when I studied in Oxford. They absolutely make some of the best pastas I have ever had. My personal favorite of all the ones I tried was the carbonara. Try as I might, I can't replicate that amazing dish. Go for lunch, if you can--they offered a deal where you could get an entree, a side dish or salad, and a glass of wine for only a few pounds. I miss Gino's so very much.

Always excellent. This independent Italian restaurant appears to be family-run and provides delicious Italian food at good prices in a pleasant atmosphere. I often take friends here because it is just reliably good. Compared to some other restaurants in central Oxford, the location is a bit tucked away, but the fact that it is usually busy is a good indication of why it has outlasted others.

This place has a nice original feel. There's a very good and varied menu with something for everyone, and daily specials in addition. Food is tasty and rather filling. Wine by the glass is unfortunately limited to the house wine.

I have been here many times in small groups. There is always a great atmosphere, the food is all you would expect from a good Italian restaurant but better value than usual and the staff are always friendly and efficient. But last night a crowd of more than 40 of us from St. Mary Magdalen's church descended on them and their response was terrific. Over two-three hours they simply gave us a really good time, taking great care to look after each of us individually. So a great big "thank you" to you, Gino's.

Family run, a rarity in Oxford! They're from campaina but the italian food is region non-specific. Good portions without overcomplicating the recipe and tasty regional wine to boot. We had toothsome bolognese with plenty of pecorino and great calzone. The restaurant is decorated in a meditarenian theme of a bygone era and rough around the edges... Quite typical if Italy. The place gets older and the food has remained hearty and authentic. Edit: it has opened again post lockdown!!! Quality has persevered. Love this place... Primitive wine is delicious!

But I was very glad to find it - very reasonable prices (most of the mains under £9), generous portions, and really quite good food. Visited for lunch whilst wandering around Oxford. Had no real expectation of the place, but found it to be a busy, enjoyable restaurant. The menu is comprehensive, offering a wide range of Italian dishes (pasta and pizza, as well as a few extras). The waiting staff were very good, giving us the right amount of time between each part of the menu without making us feel like we were being rushed or struggling to get attention. Definitely be popping in for lunch next time I'm in Oxford.

GINOS has been there since Adam was a lad and I am not sure that there are too many genuine Italians on board but the food is good, inexpensive and tasty. It clearly has an Indian accent and wouldn't be there after all these years if it didn't hit the mark. Try it for yourself if you want tasty simple food.
