We haven't been for ages - our last experience was disappointing. Not so this time. Excellent waitresses. Friendly but professional. Good sized tables (unless you're unfortunate enough to arrive in a busy evening when you may be seated at a table for 2 - or more realistically, a table for 1). But the star of the show is the steak. Sadly it was so good I didn't manage to photograph it - it was all gone before I remembered I wanted to do a review. No gristle. Perfect seasoning. Delicious rosemary wedges and fresh as a daisy salad on the side. My husband had the chicken and he was blown away by his meal which came with his favourite saute potatoes. We'll certainly be back. I hope the same chef is on again.

This place was recommended to me by colleagues, and we have decided to try it out. What can I say, we were delighted! First of all, the waitress Cristina was amazing and very professional! Best service we have received in Peterborough! Give her a pay rise! Food was absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe it! And the atmosphere was delightful. I visited Mattoni Hampton last night for a early birthday meal with my loved ones, and we all throughly enjoyed our night!! Staff went above and beyond for all of us, food was amazing(partner keeps going on about the fillet steak and how it was the best he's ever had) and the cocktails were gorgeous as usual! We keep Mattoni as our special restaurant but left disappointed recently. The service was excellent however the canaloni had obviously been heated up as it only filled half the dish ? And £5.80 for a pint of Peroni ? And lastly not sure 10% service charge should be added ?? Surely that should be at the customers discretion ? I know you can decline but who does ???

Just visited this places for the first time. What an atmosphere! Beautiful, very tidy and cozy place. It was the first time we have visited but defo not the last. Beautiful calm music, very polite staff, very nice place to sit and eat. We were served by Hugh, wow, 10 out of 10! What a polite person. We felt very welcoming. The food perfect as well! Everything freshly made and tastes really good. Kids menu fantastic, more than enough 😍 This is going to be our favourite place to dine in in Peterborough. Well done to all the staff who works there. Not been to Mattoni’s in quite a while so it was nice to go back. Back in the day, they used to have absolutely awful service which I’m happy to say they’ve improved massively. The staff is were an absolute delight, very prompt and polite. The food/drinks also didn’t take too long to arrive, good selection of pasta’s and pizza’s and and extensive cocktail menu. However I do feel like the food could’ve been much better. It definitely was quite bland although well cooked. All of the dishes were just lacking flavour.

I had Pasta Alfredo and I must say it was spectacular! It is second pasta I will remember for . The first one I had long ten years ago which was best Arabiatta I had. This one was first pasta in cream sauce and it was heavenly!!!! Honestly I cannot describe how tasty it was! Now to add to that, my partner said he has his best pizza ever! Staff were very friendly! Enjoyed it thoroughly!!!

Went here with my family for my wife's birthday on a Saturday night. An excellent restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, fabulous food and a cracking bar with quality premium lagers and cocktails. All told, all the family had a great night out! Today my wife and I had the Easter dinner (takeaway) from Mattoni Hampton. Now normally I cook the dinner on Sunday’s but I wanted to help local businesses in this trying time so ordered out. it was well packaged and the homemade gravy was in separate container. Once home we just popped in the oven for 15 mins and then plated it up. There was a lamb shank, creamy mash , 3 vegetables and an amazing homemade gravy. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very well priced and the service was excellent. Will definatly be eating from here again.

Finally a visit to a restaurant again after lockdown has been lifted. It was nice to be in a busy restaurant with a good atmosphere! Food was great as well. Portions are huge and they offered to box up the leftovers for us.

I hadn't eaten at Mattoni for a few good years, and I genuinely now don't understand why I haven't. I visited last week and was so impressed with the food, the calzone I had was incredibly good, I've travelled parts of Italy and have an American partner who lives in an Italian neighbourhood and it ranked up there with calzones I've had elsewhere. Staff are always really please and friendly. I'll definitely be back and will definitely choose Mattoni for any time I fancy a pizza from now on.

Never had a bad experience here, lovely place and lovely food. A special mention for the kids deal, it's £5.95 and gives a child a 3 course meal - the pudding in particular is great for kids and worth the price alone (ice cream served with gummy bears, marshmallows, strawberry and chocolate sauce).

Not particularly nice setting in the middle of a busy shopping area and a little overpriced. I went with some regular attendees and the service seemed very good but that may be because these are very regular attendees lol. Food was standard italian food, not badly presented but all of it was a bit bland, I tried a little of everybodies food and nothing really excited but wouldn't say unplesant. I had the meatballs which were very bland and the pasta a little dry, with the bruschetta to start. The bruschetta bread was nice but once again the topping was a bit bland. All in all not a terrible place but definitely only appears so popular because theres no competition around. My personal favourite in Peterborough is probably Fratellis although not open late in the evening sadly. I won't visit again

First time dining at Mattonis and we absolutely loved it very authentic tasting. The house wine accompanied our meal lovely. And dining at around 5.30pm meant it was only just getting busy and the service we received was of the same high standard and quality as the food. Overall a topnotch little place and don't be put off by the location seems odd at first but definitely worth it.

I love this place, I love the staff, I love the food!! This is my local Italian and it is a treat every time. I have had the pleasure of tasting most of the menu and it is all great, full of flavour and having spent a bit of time in Italy it is very authentic. The pizzas are very tasty and the lasagne is second to none, with a wide range of Italian wines to compliment the taste sensations. If your a local or just visiting then head to this perfect little place in Hampton, Great if your on a budget or fancy a nice slap up meal this gem will cover it all.

Recently had a lovely mangiare box for Father’s Day and my hubby loved it! Smooth and easy service and a really great idea to get some delicious mattoni food, when the restaurant itself isn’t open due to Covid-19. Definitely recommend!

Excellent restaurant, easy to park at the free car park across the road. Friendly staff, not to expensive and start serving dinner at 5 which is convenient for early dinner. They have a pizza oven which they use to cook authentic Italian pizza. Highly recommended.

Mattonis restaurant is a great place to be if you love Italian food. The meals are expertly and beautifully cooked. However, if you book a table online, and the number of people in your party is between 8-12, you will have to pay a deposit of £5 per person.

Family run restaurant in shopping arcade could pass it by but don't very good menu friendly service. Had the pizza very nice base next would like to try the pasta a very long range to chose from, also do steak and veal. Toilets upstairs so might be a little difficult for some. There's also a shop and deli cheese meats pasta biscuits. : )

Had an extra portion of spinach not only was it tasty - cooked with olive oil and garlic I think - but it was a good sized healthy portion. Grilled salmon and potato chips with meditteranean veg was a wholsome meal. Might be worth asking for no salt on potato if you are watching salt cos they do add it, and the grill does char the fish so if you don't like that maybe ask for lightly grilled. Pleasant service and nice unobtrusive music.

Mattoni's recently catered for my Italian Party for 8 guests. The service was excellent from the start. An email to Hugh the General Manager made communication & the ordering easy and he guided me with suggestions & quantities. The food was hot & ready on time when we collected and it was delicious. My guests particularly enjoyed the Funghi Funghetto to start & the Amaretto Cheesecake. we shall definitely consider using this service again. It certainly was 5* service.
