Excellent food and service. A variety of dishes with Italian character that can satisfy even the most pretentious client. Friendly and prompt staff, great atmosphere and a lovely setting. Highly recommend this place. The dessert is a most try if you do end up visiting San Marco!

Been twice within a few weeks and been impressed both times. Great food, great choice - although it would be better if the staff were aware what wasn't available so we knew not to choose those things from the start, rather than deliberating, placing the order, then the waiter/waitress having to come back to say it's unavailable... Quite annoying as it happened both times. Things run out, people accept that, just tell customers in advance...

Lovley lunch here yesterday,choosing the set 2 course menu(there is a set 3 course and Christmas menu).Tasty pasta dishes,Crab filled Ravioli and Ricotta/Spinach Tortillini,just the right portion.Very nice home made Tirrimissu. I certainly agree with other diners that have reviewed the staff. No smiles at all. I booked a table for two a few days before and asked could they give a little cake as it was my friends birthday. Yes they do a little cake and candle on the house. When we arrived no booking and no cake and they even forgot my dessert. No apologies either. Food was lovely that’s why 3 stars as for the rest particularly the staff I would give none.

Absolutely fantastic food, always loved it here. If you are in the first room then it does away seem very loud. I think it's just the acoustics of the place. My mother and grandfather both have hearing aids on both sides and they find the first room abit much. Second room didn't seem as bad when we went last time but when you are on one of the big tables and so have a hearing aid then unfortunately it is abit hard for hearing. Otherwise food and atmosphere is absolutely wonderful! The spicy tomato garlic bread is just fantastic and everybody in my party enjoyed their mains xx

Been going here for a long time and always felt like it was a special meal, however I booked it for my birthday meal, inviting all of the family (10). We were left very disappointed. Table was booked for 7.00. Service was hectic, ordered champagne, brought and opened the wrong one, served warm. Finally brought the right one along time afterwards. We got starters at 7.30, didn't get our main meal until after 9.00. Food quality was still good but service was poor and let us down.

Taken here for Father's Day meal which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I really enjoyed the food, surroundings and how airy the restaurant is. Italian Orchard was my favourite but it is firmly San Marco now. Price wise in my humble opinion it is reasonable and portion size is good. Service was ok, but it was very busy, I will definitely be returning as a family and for date night with the wife.

Only just getting round to writing this review now. Visited with two friends back on the 22nd June. We love the San Marco restaurants, but I have to say this one has slowly become my least favourite. My friend is a coeliac meaning she can’t eat gluten at all. Any consumption of gluten and she may become seriously unwell. Our server had no idea which items on the menu were gluten free, and after much deliberation my friend had barely any choice of meals. This is disappointing as other restaurants usually have a full gluten free menu for customers to use should they need it. When it came to dessert, she ordered the sorbet, making sure to mention she required gluten free, and it came with a wafer on top. After telling our waiter that the sorbet couldn’t be eaten due to the wafer, he said ‘okay I’ll just go and remove it’. That wasn’t satisfactory as she still wouldn’t have been able to consume the meal. Given the seriousness of food allergies and intolerances, especially in recent media, you would hope that restaurants would be more cautious of this when serving food. Our meals were absolutely lovely, but we felt like a nuisance ordering gluten free food as the staff had no idea what options were available. My trust in San Marco has gone down as how can you be sure that staff are taking food allergies seriously after what we experienced? I know the sister restaurants seem to have more gluten free options so why not this one? A pleasant experience but not sure we’ll be back unfortunately.

Really enjoyed a family lunch here. From our previous visit I remembered the seafood was great, so that certainly influenced my choice. Others in our group went for different dishes, but none of us were anything other than delighted. Courteous service, not too expensive and pleasant surroundings. We went to San Marc's today as guests at my cousin's funeral wake, and found the food, service and general surroundings of the restaurant to be of a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and catered for the large number of people extremely well. We will certainly return.

Authentic Italian fine food restaurant. Food was exquisite but the restaurant manager was very surly (Google the meaning of surly). I have never been disappointed with San Marco! The food is always delicious, the service is always excellent. So lucky to have this place so close. Obviously we are making the most of the Eat Out Help Out scheme but will happily pay full price when it ends. The food was good we had a varied selection from the menu. Our family outing consisted of two grandchildren my daughter , son, son in law, grandad and grandma a varied age range who all came away very satisfied with both the food and service. It was not cheap, but we did not feel we had been ripped off. If you are looking for a place for a family or a get together with a friend or friends the San Marco will not disappoint.

Nice ambience but very noisy, hence 4 star rating. This is due to a tiled instead of carpeted floor with a concave ceiling which amplifies sound. Will definitely return but is better suited to a family meal or office party than an intimate romantic dinner.

Some of the tables are a little cramped together during the evening service which can take away from personal comfort. But for the most part that is a restaurant that has always impressed. Coming from a long line of Italians, My family and I both agree that San Marco is easily the best Italian place in Canada. My family comes up each year for 2 weeks in forte Erie, and we go at least 3 times during those 2 weeks. The food is spectacular. My favorite is the gnocchi ala vodka. I absolutely love it. Waiters and service is great. I have only good things to say about this restaurant. So if you're looking for a great Italian restaurant, then I would highly recommend you go here.

I had an excellent lunch here on Friday. They do an offer of 2 courses for £12.95 which is excellent value considering some of the mains are £18 on there own from the ala carte menu. For starter I had Octopus sald. The octopus was cooked to perfection unliike most places who over cook it. It had no hint of chewiness and was a very tasty dish. The main course I had was braised pigs cheeks served with a spring onion mash. The veg is served to you at the table which is a nice change. The desert (not sure of what it was called) was a choux pastry crammed full with cream with a coffee icing served with a side of superb vanilla ice cream. The staff are excellent and very attentive without being over the top. I will definately be returning to try out there full menu on a Saturday Evening.
