There is a clear reason why this lovely little venue has received more than 100 5 star reviews already. I am happy to add to this catalogue. Great quality takes time and yes there was a little wait for the freshly made pizza, but we did come at a busy period and the time to wait was we'll within a comfortable limit. 2 of us ordered vegetarian pizzas and I ordered an abomination of BBQ, Pepperoni with Pineapple. All 3 were hot and beautifully garnished as you can see. To compliment these great pizzas we're house made garlic sauce and a chilli sauce. Both were perfectly balanced although the bottles were not suitable for the chilli sauce and needed a bigger hole to dispense. Parking is not easy but a short walk around the block was possible. The venue was clean, well kept and looked after. Will be happy to return again soon.

A very lovely meal. We visited after a personal recommendation of a friend. It was well worth it. The pizzas are great and the service is super friendly. Will definately return. Great kids menu too.

Such a cute little place…I’m not patronising, it is cute and it is little. The anti pasti platter is really good and the pizzas are spot on. The goats cheese salad is my favourite thing on the menu. Cocktails are great, best margarita I’ve had anywhere. The people who work there are so friendly and create such a fun, chilled atmosphere. Can’t recommend this place enough x

What a pizza indeed. The taste is absolutely incredible. Eat in or take out, staff is amazing and you will feel well welcomed. A pleasant atmosphere inside with candles at the tables and pints of beer available. In my opinion this is one of the best places in Southampton to have a proper pizza. Well done guys 👍

Arguably the best pizza in Southampton! Fantastic selection of pizzas, including veggie and vegan options. Really friendly staff and lovely restaurant. You must try their garlic sauce, amazing! Definitely recommend a visit if you are in Southampton or the Shirley area. They also deliver :)

2nd visit here,; the 1st was good, the 2nd better, can't wait for the 3rd. Best pizza for miles around, owner always ready to join in a conversation AND it's a 5 min stagger from home. The town end of Shirley is not an ideal location for ANY restaurant, but I'm here to tell you, it's worth the time and effort. Love & Respect ❤️❤️❤️

Actually one of the best pizza in town, the dough is lovely and also the crust is nearly as good as neapolitan pizza. Topping bresaola&rocket is a must in Italy and they recreate it perfectly.

I decided to try the new Pizza (What a Pizza Shirley). It was the best experience of eating out I have had in a long time. Excellent staff who made you feel so welcome. Clean tidy and very wholesome. It was our second time at What a Pizza and I generally don't review places but we had such a lovely time on both occasions that I had to let others know about this little hidden gem . The food was consistent and delicious and the staff are super friendly . This is now our preferred date night / family meal location . Thank you for having us last night and see you soon

Lovely, cosy place. Pizza is very tasty, it seems to be made of much better quality ingredients than Domino's and other chains like that. It looks and tastes like a proper traditional Italian pizza.

It's all right but to be frank what they are selling are not really pizza, at least not in an Italian sense, it's more like a thin bread-like dish with toppings. I had sunflower seeds on mine for example ;). Might be worth sending their chefs on professional pizza courses so that they learn how to make it properly as otherwise they obviously have potential and use good materials and a decent oven.
