Very friendly staff serving very tasty proper Italian dishes. Enjoyed a hot portion of mushrooms topped with cheese in tomato sauce, along with the Italian wine of the house (half a litre was just perfect). Real Italian taste pasta and pizza as main course. Grazie! You won't regret it if you serve here! Enjoy!

It was a really nice restaurant and even when it got busy, the staff were still really really nice and attentive. It was a really good experience and the food was delicious 😋 There is a range of veggie options! They were quite accommodating in terms of adding toppings and taking out toppings for the mains. Overall really good quality experience ☺️ Would definitely recommend this restaurant 🙌🏼

This establishment does Italian food like it should be. The best Italian resturant I’ve been to outside of Italy. It’s got an old school feel to it. It is very busy and I would recommend you reserve a table. There’s no fancy online computer to reserve with. This is very old school. Call up and they put you on a list with a pen and paper! Lol The staff are mostly Italian and the banter they have between them is funny. Always with smiles on their faces. The staff work very hard and very quick to get you your food hot and fresh. The food is fresh, hot and very tasty. This time we opted for Gamberi all, Orientale (prawns in sauce) and Bruschetta Classica (Chopped tomatoes basil and garlic on bread) as starters. Nice and flavourful. For our mains, we had Scaloppine al Limone (Veal escalopes in lemon sauce) with mushrooms, broccoli and roasted potatoes and a Penne all’ Arrabbiata (tomato, garlic and chilli sauce) with Prawns. Oh and tomato garlic bread. Nothing went to waste. All finished and we waddled out when we were done. We have done many family outings to this restaurant and they have always got the food right, even when we have had 20 plus people there. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes. Would I go again? Yes ..

What a wonderful place! I always wanted to try authentic Italian cuisine and I finally did. Staff was very friendly and professional. I asked about many dishes as it was my first time trying Italian. She answered all my questions with patience and suggested us the dish of our requirements. Food was too yum! And the music, ambience was very happening. Over all, it was an amazing experience.

Food was ok, could be better but lacking of ambiance wouldn't make me to return in here. The waitress was moody and the communication wasn't very pleasant. The music wasn't on so you can hear just noise from others chats, cutlery or the chef shouting at the waitress so on and so forth. So not a great experience

I’ve been going for years and overtime it’s completely dropped off. From food to staff it’s just getting less good when I know it used to be 10/10. They have members of staff wondering around not doing anything and when you ask for something they say I can’t do that I’m not your waiter but then don’t do anything to get the waiter for you then just continue to wonder in their own minds. I don’t know what it is but something had to change everybody I love that place, no bueno.

Nice Italian restaurant in Watford town center. This time we didn't book earlier but the Manager Franco was really nice with us and he was able to set a table in 2 min (we suggest to book in advance anyway). We really appreciate the pasta "trenette con i gamberi". The pasta was not overcooked (rare to find in most part of restaurants in Uk) and it tasted really good (we will order it again next time 😉). The pizza was also good. We will come back soon and we will take our friends with us.

Not bad...I had brusheta and then a meat feast pizza. The brusheta was a little over crispy for me but the toppings were fresh and the same with the pizza which had great flavour and was tasty. Only served beer in half's which was a bit annoying as had to keep calling the waiter over

Excellent customer service - very friendly staff that catered to everyone's needs and fulfilled requests within a timely manner. They were calm which was really good. The outdoors were clean and in a pretty good location. Pretty good atmosphere, but unfortunately were unlucky to have drunk people shouting walking by (they are next to pubs and clubs), as well some members of the public decided to shout at the people dining thinking they had a singing voice to share (it was awful sorry, we're not at a drunken pub, we wanted to dine in peace). Not the most amazing food. The pizza was alright but nothing special. It lacked options for ingredients, it lacked spice, no olive oil and overall it was a bit bland. It was overloaded with rocket too. The starters (king prawns with mushrooms in a lovely tomato sauce) and ice cream however was delicious. So a very good start and ending, just a mediocre middle.

Lovely food with personalised service from all the lovely staff working on my visit. I'm vegetarian with a very picky pallet but they listened and produced the perfect pasta dish for my preference. My best friends also enjoyed their chosen dishes. This venue needs update and better seating and the location of our seating was very uncomfortable.

I have been a customer here for several years and although I have had a single occasion of bad service, they seem to have got things back together again. The food here is very authenticly Italian and it is obvious that everything is made from scratch. The food has always been great and they do take time in preparing their good quality food. I normally go for the Tomato Garlic Bread (which is absolutely amazing) and a Calzone.

Proof is in the pudding.. or Tiramisu! L'Artista is an excellent restaurant serving delicious Italian food. The place is packed (as always) which says a lot about it. For a group of 14 of us, we had several starters and a mix of pastas and Pizza, topping it up with even more yummier desserts. Homemade Tiramisu standing out in a close finish race. Staff is very friendly and always on a look out for your requests. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious, the wine sensational and the desserts to die for! Had an amazing diner at L'Artista! I ordered a house wine, the Tagliatelle with Chicken, the Rosemary Focaccia bread and topped it off with the Tortorella Della Nona. The lighting and ambience is perfect for a evening out and the staff ensured all the tables were wiped down and wore masks to drive down the risk of COVID. I'll definitely come back to this restaurant.

Booked a table here on Friday (just gone) at 7pm on the basis of the website and previous positive feedback. The outdoor seating area was already bustling as we arrived and there were only a few tables available inside, where we were placed, despite the fact the dense room layout maximises its volume. In short, booking in advance is certainly advisable. Thanks to this establishment's popularity and the industry of its staff, the atmosphere of L'Artista is wonderfully vibrant. This was supplemented soon after our arrival by the introduction of Latin music, which contributed to the happy sentiment, without drowning out conversation. The food is excellent, affordable, and generously portioned. Hailing from less pricey environs, this is additional praise insofar as my economic yardstick likely differs from that of the usual patrons. I shared a portion of focaccia, which was a more than sufficient appetiser for the meatballs to follow, which were delicious. The pizza was reportedly equally delectable. In a nutshell.. a highly-recommendable use of your time and money.

It's been a long time since we've eaten out and the wait was worth it. L'Artista is a great restaurant. As it was quite sunny we were able to eat outside and we enjoyed Insalata Primavera and Zucchini Fritti for starters which were both very tasty and good sizes. Mains were pasta - tagliatelle ai Broccoli and spaghetti alio oilio e pepperancino - fantastic. A cheeky prosecco to celebrate and fantastic, professional service throughout - I'll be back again soon.

I've never been to Italy, but this place feels exactly like I would expect a 'real' Italian restaurant to feel like. It has a bustle of an atmosphere, it was packed when we went and yet the service was still timely and with a smile. The food. Well, that was stunning, massive portions, and the taste, wow. I had garlic pizza bread to start (with a helping of my girlfriends calamari to boot!) both of which were excellent. Fluffy soft dough with just the right amount of crisp, the garlic tasted like it was infused into the dough, marvelous. The calamari was lightly battered and had the perfect 'bite' to it, not the slightest bit rubbery! The main course of spaghetti with tomato sauce and clams was beautiful, the best i have ever eaten. For desert we had ice cream, and it was stupidly creamy. The house red was great, really smooth with no vinegar aftertaste that you sometimes get. In case you hadn't noticed, I seriously enjoyed this place. Eat here if you get chance.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was good - it was lovely to sit outside as it was a nice evening. They have a large selection of pizza and pasta to choose from. I had the garlic bread to start which was delicious and the tagliatelle con polpette which was also tasty. The portion sizes were quite big but they were happy to package the rest of my dinner in a box to takeaway. The staff were very friendly however service was a little slow. The prices were good. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Authentic Italian & always great food. We often have the Chicken Ceasar salad starter, which is pretty big & could do a main course. This time I had the Calzone, which was a great size within large bowl of marinara on the side & well filled. One of our party had the Diversa pizza, which is a cross between a Calazone & a Pizza, with a quarter fold. This was really good, too. The pasta is also very good. Recommended.

Visited tonight for my partners birthday , party of 7.Restaurant was full and the service was very slow , waited 30 minutes to place our food order , tried to catch the attention of staff but were ignored. Eventually spoke to the manager who looked to be completing a take away order, he said that only 2 members of staff were taking orders, not sure why as there were about 6 waiters/waitresses working. Our meal eventually arrived , food was good , waited for our drink request for a glass of wine which never arrived. Did not have the patience to order any desserts so ordered the bill. If they do not have enough staff to offer a competent service and not keep customers waiting for ages then they should not take bookings for a full restaurant.

Delicious Italian food!!!! Always fresh!!!! Usually very busy but they try to get you a table very soon even if you haven't booked. We go there almost every week.great for families. The only change i would recommend is a little bit of music it would be niceand some kind of a more Italian decor. But generally is great. Prices reasonable. We love it.

Food is decent, there are better Italian restaurants in Rickmansworth in my opinion better. I had to really engage eye contact a few times with the waiters to get the manager to come and take our order. He could only do that. Service was quick afterwards.

Been to the one in Golders Green and fell in love with the good food, the nice atmosphere and the friendly staff. Decided to go to the one on Watford as lockdown restrictions were easing and we were not disappointed. Although we were freezing our butts off on the patio, it was all worth it.

Always have had good experince with this restaurant whether eat in or takeaway or delivery with Uber Eats. Today we decided to order from Uber Eats. Absolute disappointment. Pizza arrived cold and burnt. Pasta was warm but portion size has decreased significantly. It used to come in a large wide aluminium tray with paper cover. Today it came in a small plastic takeaway box. We tried the pasta and it was totally tasteless. We had to try testing our own sense of smell and taste again (thought we lost it). Had to add our own cheese and salt. Meatballs in the pasta were very overcooked. Extremely disappointed this time.

Lovely family restaurant, very popular and with very friendly staff. We had a lovely family afternoon out and we all enjoyed it. Forgive me for making one small criticism though, I had tagliatelle with salmon but it didn't have much taste. It was as if someone had just taken plain pasta poured some cream on and thrown in some flakes of salmon. Not much flavour at all, perhaps some fish stock in the sauce or even a little garlic would've helped? I must say, in fairness this wouldn't stop me coming back, I would just order a different meal next time.

The food here is really delicious and fresh and the service good. However, I was very dissapointed with the lack of safe guarding in this current COVID situation. Although the staff were wearing masks, they didn't try and socially distance, the tables felt close together and not the minimum 1m apart, there was little if any one way directional floor sinage, no hand sanitizing stations, menus were not wiped down after each usage and upon payment the waitress took my credit card and handled it. I have been eating here for a good many years and it never disappoints. The staff are very friendly when you arrive, and I would recommend reserving a table as it is normally busy at peak times. Many staff re floating around helping tables so you are always quickly attended to. The food is amazing. Doesn't take a huge amount of time, even on a busy Saturday evening. It's always fresh and very delicious. And you are offered black pepper, and parmesan for pasta as soon as they place your meal down. The atmosphere is always buzzing and busy. For some people the noise of all the people can be a little bit much, but personally I love how busy it is. The decorations are interesting as they have murals of famous people all across one wall. Their desserts are also very delicious and the coffee is top notch. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place, and will continue going for many more years to come.

I wandered in with my parents on a Saturday for lunch and was greeted by a friendly staf who leaded us to a table and left us a few minutes to think about our decisions. The waitress was obliging and helpful answering our questions with assurance. An incredible aroma of baking pizza embraced us during the short wait. Startes came first and the tasteful plates cought our eyes. To our surprise, the taste was nothing but amazing! A bomb of flavors on the salad tricolore and bruchetta. Eager to dig in our mains, the pizza Veggie and salmon pasta lived up to exceeded our expectations. The creamy pasta with a palatable taste to salmon made my mouth water... They were quite lavish adding a bunch of salmon. Not only was huge the pizza but exquisite... Have a go and pamper yourself! You won’t regret!

Go here all the time! And wow they get better every time although if u don't like hussle and bussle don't choose to eat in on a Friday- Sunday as they are so busy (but the service and fastness of food is still amazing) but they do takeout if u don't like busy busy places😊
