Went here whilst on holiday for my other half's birthday meal. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The food was phenomenal, served hot but the type of hot where you can still eat it. Our waiter was absolutely amazing and even gave us recommendations on what to go for when he realised we were struggling on deciding what to go for.

The food and drinking were fantastic, but the service was not that good. It seems they were short on people when I came, so the ladies were in a hurry and it was hard to get their attention to order. I had the carbonara and the brownie. I forgot the name of the drink, but it was good!

Decided to pop in as the staff were too busy chatting to be bothered to come and seat us. Here there's friendly and accommodating staff. A good selection on the menu and the fact you can do things in the app after ordering could be useful. We just went with the traditional face to face. The pizza was very nice and my partner had the Marco Polo pasta which she loved. Decent prices as well. Would be happy to go back.

What a lovely and friendly place to have a meal at. The service was brilliant and the staff where amazing. We went on one of the hottest days and they still managed to pull off a great service. The front of house staff made you feel so special. And the food was so tasty. Highly recommended.

Awesome gluten free menu and service Seated us quickly and immediately asked if we had any allergies or sensitivities, which was great as I'm gluten intolerant. They explained items on the menu are marked with gluten free options. I chose pollo funghi AND mozzarella flatbread which was delicious. Best gluten free pasta I've had. Lovely service. Can't wait to tell more people about it.

Would have been 5 if it wasn't for the male waiter trying to make us sit in the window by the door. Then despite many banquette tables, he put us in the centre where people moved past at both sides. We enjoyed the daily fixed menu, it was excellent and good value. The female waiters were lovely.

Visited York for the weekend for a girls holiday. What a beautiful city with so much history 100%recomend at least one trip to York in your lifetime. Bella italia we pre booked to avoid disappointment, lovely restaurant not overpriced, they had a great offer on 3 courses for around £16.99. There was 6 of us and everyone's food was fab and finished to a high standard. The restaurant itself was decorated to make it feel as though you were on the streets of Italy. I asked if we could sing happy birthday to my friend and the staff bought her dessert out with candles and all sang along with us, great atmosphere. Liv was a great waitress very friendly and accommodating, a great end to a lovely weekend

Lovely atmosphere, booked in advance because it was a Sunday and the St Nicholas Fayre so very busy. Our server was great, friendly and quick to serve us. The food took a little longer to come but understandable with how busy the place was. The meals tasted lovely as always, and you're always guaranteed a big bowl full at Bella Italia. Also check online to get various voucher codes, we had a 30% mains which was a great saving. The only complaint we had was yet again how cold the ladies toilets were, can someone sort the heating out upstairs?!

The atmosphere is nice and is a place that I would suggest to have italian food. I tried lasagne and they were tasty. The service was quite good as it was fast and the staff was pleasant and kind, even though there was a lot of people in the restaurant. At this place you can also try some ice cream that is placed in a nice cart. The toilets are clean too.

Would recommend booking a table, got seated quite quickly and ordered up some wine, quite reasonably priced. Food was of good quality and plenty of it. Our service was spot on although a few people who arrived later had to wait a while to get served etc, short staffed in kitchen causing the problem. We had a quick lunch here whilst shopping in York and used the AA Gourmet Society discount which they were happy to apply. The service was relaxed and prompt. We ate in the lovely little courtyard garden. The food was great and good value.

Food was oke and just the way you expect. I loved that there was a glutenfree menu with lots of choices. I took the Margarita, very simple, I know :). When here, it was very busy. Staff was practically running back and forth. Our waiter was therefore very hiper/energetic and tried to still make us feel "special" by making jokes for example. Although, it kinda began to annoy as he was practically doing it running and lots of time while you just took a bite.. It was very well meant, but not very necessary. The place itself is very nice, it does not matter if you sit in the front or the back, there is still enough light that makes it cosy.

Me & my partner were staying overnight in the Hilton by Hampton so decided to have a nice meal in Bella Italia. I had a taste card with me so we had Starters, mains and deserts and I must say the food was delicious 5 out of 5.. The only issue we had was it took three attempts to get our bill correct and they tried to charge us an extra £4.98 for chicken in our Carbonaras which we hadn't asked for but the young lady who served us was very pleasant & polite..Last thing was we were given a near window seat which was nice people watching etc but it is a constant traffic of Deliveroo & just eat drivers/riders In & out.. Is it the future now..yes..do I like it..no..given it three stars for these niggles..

Perfect date night! The atmosphere is brilliant, candle light and the staff really friendly and fun. It felt as though we were sat in an authentic italian kitchen with family and friends. I visited the italian restaurant 2 month ago. All crew is very kind, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm. I strongly recommend to anyone who want to eat traditional italian food.

The staff were great and very quick to provide us a table despite not booking and just wandering in off the street, an inconvenient start for them I’m sure. However they welcomed us, sat us and immediately asked if we wanted something to drink. I had a glass of apple and my boyfriend had a martini. We were served them within a minute or two of ordering them. We looked through the menu and I ordered a Margarita pizza and chocolate cookie and gelato and my partner ordered a pasta dish and a brownie with gelato. After about ten minutes the main arrived and I do have to say the pizza looked a bit sad for almost £10 the sauce was like eating tomato purée and the cheese was barley existent and the base a bit chewy. I had to order a side salad just for some flavour afterwards, which was lovely. My boyfriend said his pasta dish was great but could do with a bit more sauce. Once we finished a waiter immediately came as cleaned up our dishes and then five minutes later brought out our dessert. We decided to split each dessert in half and each try the others and by golly they were gorgeous, generous desserts. I could barely finish mine let alone my boyfriends. Absolutely lovely and the gelato was very melty. I’d go again for anything but the pizza. Really good staff however.

Booked a table last minute on 22nd Jan. Given that this restaurant had availability on a Saturday evening, I was expecting there to be some catch (e.g. poor food). BUT, how wrong I was. First of all I requested a table where people could not walk around me (not central). I was not expecting my request to be accommodated but it was. I was seated in a booth, which I was thrilled with. Secondly I decided to sit facing the kitchen. I have to say that the tall, slender chef with short dark hair , dark stubble (wearing a green hat) was on fire! Honestly, constantly on the ball. I am not sure if he was the one in charge, but that kitchen ran like clock work. Hats off to the gent and staff in kitchen! Thirdly, the food was lovely. I had the chicken wrapped in parma ham with potatoes, and bruschetta (gluten free). It was delightful. Well presented and lovely flavours. My child loved the kids meatballs. My husband loved his meal also. Service was brilliant. Staff were so efficient. No long waits, wrong orders. They were spot on. So well done waiting staff! The one criticism I would have, is that the carrot sticks and cucumber that came with dough balls off of the kids menu were seasoned with pepper (or something that was hot and spicy). This was not listed on the menu and I would advise against seasoning children's food with such spices. However, all in all I would not hesitate visiting this restaurant again. We had the vegan version of The Vegetarian Breakfast which comes with extra avocado instead of the 2 eggs. It was hot and reasonably priced at 5 pounds. However, even with the extra avocado, you don't get as much food compared to the vegetarian version. I would like to suggest that as well as the extra avocado you also got twice as many mushrooms. Or even better, scrambled tofu (to replace the 2 eggs) or even 2 vegan sausages. Also, please consider supplying soya milk for teas & coffees. Pretty much everywhere does soya milk so it's time to catch up with the others!

The staff was attentive and accommodating, even through issues redeeming a promo code at payment. Recommend the Campagna pizza, advise against the lemon cheesecake which is extremely zesty...

Lovely food but you cannot be in a rush. Booking in advance is vital as we have waited over an hour to get a table at busy times and often had to be turned away. On our last visit we waited 45minutes for our starters because the staff were so busy. It is very small but has a lovely atmosphere. Most of the staff as very bubbly however, the music can sometimes be too loud making it difficult to hear people on the same table.

One of the nicest Bella Italia’s I’ve been too. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. It was very busy for a Friday night so booking in advance seems to be the way to go as it’s only small. The decor/interior were lovely and not your usual super modern look, this was a lot more rustic which I thought looked very good. Noise levels weren’t too bad either, there was a rowdy table but we were far enough away so that we could still hear ourselves talk.

The food as well was incredible, huge portions which works beautifully for me! Really tasty, thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom starter. Only downside was we were seated by the front door, which at this time of year meant our visit was a little cold. But to their credit it was also the only table available which says something to be that busy on a mid week afternoon, on a cold day in February. Top notch!

Like a lot of chain restaurants, it's good value if you've got a voucher. Probably a bit over priced for what it is if you pay full price. The drinks were expensive - £5 for a pint is somewhat steep. Also, the two pasta mains we had needed to go back because they were luke warm at best; this was rectified quickly though. The staff were lovely, which is always a bonus. We'll be visiting next time we're in York.

Came here with the family on a midweek evening - lucky to get a table. The staff happily accepted our Clubcard vouchers. After sitting, we waited for 20 minutes before our food order was taken - a long time. We could see the kitchen from our table, and we saw our ready food sitting ready to be served for over 5 minutes- by the time it was brought to us, my meal was almost cold. This was disappointing- the staff all looked busy, I can only think that serious understaffing is the problem. The food was wonderful though, and the service friendly (although often M.I.A)

Great italian restaurant in the middle of York. The statf was lovely. We ask as a starter a "Caramelised Onion pizza bread". As a main, we ask pasta and both dishes were incredible. I recommend "Marco Polo". The only bad thing: they offered us a salad with the main. Don't ask it, is a small and very simple salad and it costs £3,95. Apart for that, it was a great dinner.
