Nice food, but need to be more attentive…
Last came here in October and had a really great evening so I was very much looking forward to this. However, it just all felt a bit flat.
The waiters were not attentive. Asked for a Coke with no ice and no lemon and it came with both, so sent it back and then had another one with lemon in. Asked for a pint of Peroni which never appeared. Steak came with no steak knife and we were not the only table it’s happened to. It’s just the little things that you expect a high-end restaurant like this to know.
Brie and Asparagus starter was quite small for £8 and there really wasn’t much flavour at all. For the main course my partner had rib eye steak which was £20 without any sides whatsoever so he had new potatoes for an extra £5 which seems quite steep. I had a chicken skewer which as you can see from the picture did not have a great deal on it and was slightly overcooked.
I completely appreciate everything has gone up in price, but so has the menu and the quality has gone down. I find it a little bit galling that a 10% service charge is automatically added; I think that should be worked for rather than assumed as it was in this case.
Hopefully this was just a bad evening and we will have another good meal there at some point.
£68 for one starter, two mains and two drinks was definitely not worth it this time

This is a fabulous Italian restaurant with top notch food and drink right in the middle of York. It gets very busy, I would advise you to pre book! As well as seating inside there are seats outside with heaters. Staff were friendly and courteous and the service was great. The food we had was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come back here to eat again!

I wondered if this place was going to be a bit 'touristy' to be honest, as in overpriced & not great....I needn't have worried. Great find by my better half, food was incredible. I can highly recommend the pork belly in the photo, delicious! Everything was spotlessly clean, waiting staff were really friendly & efficient. Its worth a trip just to see the funky wallpaper but you should go for the food really. Excellent value & well worth five stars 🌟

Amaazzingggg, very busy which is a good sign! I recommend booking ahead of schedule, food was 10/10, creamy rich flavours and modest portions. Atmosphere 10/10 along with the decor, service on drinks was a bit slow but waiting a bit longer wasn’t too bad in such a nice location

Not essential but you need a reservation to get a seat here and I can see why. The food was delicious and generous portions. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. There was a little wait on food especially noticed between starters and main but not to the point where we felt we had to inquire with the staff (definitely worth it). Had a fantastic night here the atmosphere was light and upbeat and the décor was lovely.
Highly recommended going here, my new favourite spot to eat in York.

Food was pretty good, but the saffron risotto was too sour for my taste - probably too much lime juice added. The Sea Bass was very well cooked though and good value on the lunch menu.
Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This Italian restaurant is great and we recommend the elder flower sparkling water. It's sweet and sour with lemon ice and is perfect for non-alcoholic ladies. It's good to book in advance to get a great table. A very nice place to take photos~

We booked this place for my sisters 30th (which we did state when booking) first they sat us in the side building which was a little plain and not as nice as the main, we asked to be moved Into the main which we was. When we ordered desert the birthday girl ordered a tirimasu, they put three mini flowers on the plate and said it was a special birthday desert, that was all, there was no candle, note or any faff this was £8
Beautiful place, very clean. One of the staff members was very attentive and the food was delicious. Another issue is that I asked for medium rare steak and it came out well done, by the time my food came back out my family had nearly finished theirs. We went on a week day, so wasn't as if it was too busy. They did re plate me the full meal even though the issue was a steak and offered a free drink which I thought was nice. The chips are not part of the meal, this was an extra item. It cost £20 for the steak and half a tomato £5 for the chips which is extortionate.
The kitchen staff is another story, we was sat near the kitchen and you could hear them arguing and shouting at each other, at one point the waiters got involved, felt a little uncomfortable.
I wouldn't go for food again but for drinks 100% The a cocktail bar upstairs (see picture) which was stunning

Came here for a meal on our first night away. I had mussels to start which were delicious and, for the main course, I had the smoked salmon pasta (my partner had the chicken skewer). Had creme brûlée for desert.
A great restaurant, only dropped a star as the smoked salmon pasta was a bit over seasoned and was quite salty (but was still tasty)!
