We went for a 4+ deal. Food's OK but don't order dessert. It takes at least 45 minutes, and even then it is incorrect order. It totally dampens the overall experience.

Just been to Monks Cross York pizza hut. The opening time is 12 not 11.30 as advertised on web. We ordered 3 buffet meals and 2 kids meals. Salad bar was great however when we went to get the pizzas they'd all gone.....come on guys you're a pizza place make sure there's plenty of pizza available for everyone. We had to wait for the pizzas to be put out and then everyone was racing to grab a slice or two . You have to order on your phone which is fine but not ideal for everyone. Not many staff around. Kids meals were fine. Just need to be more prepared for people coming in and have plenty of pizzas ready for the buffet bar

So, the good was: convenient location, decent food, easy to book, easy to order, super friendly and attentive waiting staff. The not so good: the food took ages to arrive and it wasn't especially busy although fully booked later on. A very large group arrived who had only booked for four adults and not their ten (yes, ten) children. These children were exceptionally disruptive and despite the restaurant being full booked the staff only had an attempt at removing this group but essentially gave in. This is partially understandable but essentially spoiled the restaurant for everyone else.

Nice, usual for the chain. Its a pity you can't amend the pizzas other than choosing a make-your-own. I do find desserts very restricted and the high sugar cookie dough we chose was melted to the plate.

when you order 2 pizzas and 2 drinks and you get to £45 i think pizza hut is getting a bit above itself . the service was good but the pizzaz arnt the size they used to be charge more give less a real shame , the salad bar looked on its last legs with a few bits in each dish very dissapointing

I havent been to pizza hut for a while. I used to take my kids to pizza hut when they were young and it was great - affordable, welcoming, good staff and a great ice cream stand. This time we went and the pizzas are outrageously priced, the ice cream factory has the worst sweets ive ever seen (just horrible candy) and the salad bar looks like it hasnt been updated for 10 years (because it hasn't). I wouldnt go again tbh. Most staff were friendly though and they had a very easy & clever way of you ordering from your table without signing up to anything or logging in.

The company was nowhere near as good as it used to be...the service was slow here and the pizzas were smaller too! Add to that no chilli flakes, black pepper or parmesan cheese! Not the cheapest either! Probably stick to Pizza Express!

Have ordered takeaway a few times from Pizza Hut in Monks Cross now. Every time the order has been late past collection time despite the restaurant being nearly empty. On my most recent order, it was placed at midday for an 20:15 pick up after work and I was left waiting for an additional half an hour for it to come out. I politely ask for an update and there’s a female manager who is quite abrupt and rude about it and doesn’t seem to care very much. The food itself has always been fine so have rated it 4 stars.

My family and I (2 adults 2 children) are on holiday and staying in a caravan in Thirsk and as the weather was so bad we decided to go to Monks Cross for a look around. We decided to treat the kids to a Pizza Hut so we ordered the buffet lunch. It was lovely the salad bar was full and fresh pizzas hot and tasty. A massive thank you to our waitress FreyaH who was very friendly and helpful best Pizza hut experience we have had. Thank you. If only our local PH had staff like her we would return there.

Went with the kid's. The staff are so lovely and it was really fast service. Had plenty left to take home for my boyfriend to. Very clean restaurant. Cookie dough is so naughty but so nice! Would highly recommend especially because of the super service!

Staff always do there best here. Food usually great quality, much better than the PH takeaways in York that never get a pan pizza right. Toilets worth a miss for the faint hearted. Overall, well worth a visit if corporate pizza is your thing.

The staff are working their arses off, there just needs to be more of them! They were great. The app wouldn't accept payment and I think everyone in there (not the awesome staff) were a wee bit tired and grumpy. The joys of the summer holidays I guess! Can't compare it to other pizza huts as this is the first one I've been to! Opted for the 8.99 buffet option and absolutely pigged out on pizza. The buffet has a bunch of pizzas lined up and constantly restocked and you can just get as much as you want. It was tasty, good value for money, and the staff were kind and friendly too! Nobody minded me taking an age to work out how to get the drink machine to work either! Very nice!

The same old pizza hut that is still a treat to go to, however old i still enjoy having the free salad bar (free if your meal allows). My pizza was good and there is a good choice of dishes on the menu. Nice staff and restaurant is well presented, although the leather seat was a bit sticky. Dishes will average around £10/12. Good place to take kids for food and is colouring to keep them occupied. A place you know you can call in at to fill you up.

Nicely decorated and pleasant staff. Very efficient, with a short wait time. My very hungry 7 year old was very happy with his food. Good selection and we always enjoy the salad bar and ice cream! Only slight negative was the loud background music, but it won't stop us going back.

Previously had some issues here with the buffet as there was no pizza available for quite a while despite asking, maybe some unforseen issues I guess? The last couple of visits have been really good however when ordering from the main menu. Staff good, food good and served in a reasonable time. Will visit again but I'm still not confident to go for the buffet even if its better value.

Typical Pizza Hut resturant, the free salad bar was well stocked and all the veg and pasta looked good. The staff were friendly enough and the Pizza was piping hot when it arrived. Only issue was that the food we ordered, (only a standard BBQ chicken) which took about 30 minutes to arrive, and the bill took arrond the same amount of time. This was particularly annoying as we'd had to queue up to get in, and the were people stood outside waiting while we were waiting for the bill.

My family all chose the buffet option, the pizza was lovely though there was a few times the buffet was actually empty, maybe it's so you get full whilst your waiting and you don't eat so much..who knows. And the flavoured pepsi never taste of anything except pepsi with no sugar or flavour in it. But service was good.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the salad bar choices - with pasta, couscous, potato salad and breadsticks no longer an option. On asking why this was, we were told that the changes were as a result of a move to a healthier options menu. Find this very hard to believe given they were still providing tortilla chips and, heaven forbid, pizzas!! No prior warning was given of the changes, so we were left feeling rather unhappy with our experience.

I was shopping at Monks Cross with my husband when we decided to go for something to eat, we hadn't been for a while so we thought we'd give it a go. We were very surprised when a young gentleman came to our table to see if we were ready to order which we were, but the surprise was what he told us. They were trying a new menu just for a Sunday for a set price. You could have unlimited pizza, (they had different styles of pizzas e.g. pepperoni, margharita, four cheese etc, )You could have as many or as little of different slices of pizzas, you could go up as many times as you like to the salad bar. On certain deals you got unlimited drinks as well, milkshake are a seperate price. And do you know it was really nice,it made a rightþ refreshing change. I think it was, now please don't quote me on this but I think the price was around £7.99 /,£9.99.

When you order tea you only get about half a cup of water. Lunch time buffet ran out of pasta they said more would be out in a few minutes, 15 minutes later still no pasta, don't know if any ever came out we had to leave never got an apology. Sometimes some of the salad is sad and watery.
