What a find … The freshest tastiest seafood in York. Just had lunch here with my family, lovely relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, attentive staff & amazing food. Ordered the whitebait calamari & prawns that was so good that after finishing we reordered it again. Clams were really good too loved the sauce. The seafood was freshest I’ve tasted since being on holiday abroad. Ordered a selection from ‘plates’ Lamb chops and lamb Meatballs also good & cooked to perfection. Pizza & pastas for the less adventurous. Lovely puddings. Would definitely recommend for great food in a lovely atmosphere.

Really good pizza and pasta. Lunch price is reasonable at £9.50 per main course. Not too happy with the optional 10% service charge when bill was presented but the service was okay. Unfortunately the food had given us rather bad indigestion problems. Still the taste of food couldn't be faulted.

Tapas is probably my favourite food to have for lunch. Vitoria was a spur of the moment choice and it was an excellent find. On arrival there was a bottomless brunch offer for £35. 5 choices of cocktails, a starter and main. Ridiculous value. In a party of two, you all don’t have to have the brunch option. This option is amazing especially if you have a person who wants to drink and a designated driver for example. The bottomless brunch offers as a starter a huge antipasti board and a pizza and pasta of your choice. I went for a three small plates. Now I say small plates but the portions are amazingly generous. I had an image in my head of literal smaller plates but boy was I wrong. The lamb cutlets were amazing. I was asked how I wanted them to be prepared and they came cooked perfectly at medium. The prawn and scallop ravioli. This was the star of what I ordered. It was absolutely beautiful. Three good sized parcels with a beautiful filling that was delicious. The scallop and prawn did not overpower each other and they were in a sage and butter sauce. I would have been more than satisfied with just that alone. My final small plate were two ham and cheese croquettes. I am a fan of a blended croquette filling but these were well constructed and you could feel the melted cheese when you bite into them. They were fluffy and well seasoned. My only issue was that it came with mayonnaise which for me let it down a bit. Aioli or even a hollandaise would have made this incredible. The service was amazing. Attentive and knowledgeable of the menu, I could not fault it. I did like being asked if my lamb was cooked as requested and that was really nice to be asked. Also, on leaving, I was given some information about the location and shown the upstairs area. This was a really nice touch. It’s a long way from home but I would definitely return. Was I satisfied? Yes. Will I return? Yes. Should you go? Yes.

Great service. Espresso martinis were delicious & we went for a mid afternoon snack. The sharing platter was lovely and well presented. The decor is really trendy, kind of Ivy type feel. The girls there were great and really attentive. Look forward to going back for a main meal.

Hello. I wanted to share with you my experience of visiting this restaurant. great food i recommend with all my heart service great. and especially GIUSEPPE had great conversations with the customers. it was our second visit to this restaurant and every time we are in york we will pop in for food

We saw this restaurant, and went in without a booking. I am so glad we did. The food was excellent, hot, served quickly and the beer was great. The price was also very reasonable, and we had quite a lot. The staff cannot be faulted, excellent service all around, they were happy and very efficient. I have no complaints at all, and recommend that if you are in York and looking to have lunch or dinner, do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant. With regards to the people below moaning about the service charge, if you don't like it, don't pay it. It is your job to check your receipt and query it if you are unsure. Hospitality staff were on furlough for nearly a year in some places and restaurants were closed, one day you may go on holiday and restaurants won't be as plentiful, and that will be your fault, for moaning and refusing to invest in the economy by helping to pay the staff that serve you. Grow up.

Absolutely fantastic experience. We both had pizza which was incredible, cooked in an authentic pizza oven right behind us. The staff were exceptionally friendly helping any way they could. But the thing we enjoyed most was the desserts. WOW. Best cheesecake i have ever had in my life, will definitely visit again!

I gave 3 stars for the staff as they were lovely. It looks nice and upmarket, judging from the photos of the food; my colleague and myself were really looking forward to the pizza! Unfortunately it wasn’t great. My pizza was okay, nice but could’ve had more sauce and more cheese. The garlic bread was at first served burnt, but the staff got a new one sent out with cheese and that one was a bit better but still not worth it (in my opinion) and my colleagues calzone was dry as a bone. We were asked multiple times if the food was okay, but we felt a bit awkward complaining further we know that, that is on us. We paid in full (minus the 50% discount for the garlic bread), mainly for appreciation for the staff. Overall the staff are great but the food, not so much.

Neither of us really liked the cocktails we got and that was fine but they wanted to make sure we had a good time so they were very accommodating and friendly about the whole thing! Great customer service and amazing food! Couldnt have asked for a nicer pesto and chicken pasta best I've had, and my boyfriends chicken Kiev pizza was so good definitely recommend! 10/10

They were busy and advised there was a 10 min wait. 45+ mins and we were still waiting so helped ourselves to menus. We thought one of the gentlemen offered to help the lady behind the bar make our cocktail but he headed off and left her. She was delightful and explained she was not a barmaid when she was unable to make it properly. What a blessing that the food was great!

A great Italian little gem! Spent a weekend in York last week and visited twice as the service and food were excellent! Really made to feel welcome! Food was sublime! Husband is gluten intolerant and GF pizzas were the best he ever had. Squid ink pasta, fresh sea food, antipasto platters and affugatos were divine! Well done everyone 👏 👍 😀

The staff wete friendly and helpful we had 2 children with us, we ordered mocktails for them and they came as they would a adult which made their night. My grand daughter had the small plates nothing small about them!! The calamari was fantasyic 3 of our table hadn't had clams and they love them now. I had the seafood linguini which was out of this world and i had to fight the kids off my prawns.. The steaks were very good as was the pizza but the highlight was the calamari. The cocktails were good in effect cant wait togo again xxx

We were visiting York for the weekend and we walked in for lunch without a booking. My partner ordered a main of penne with salmon in a tomato sauce with a side of house salad and the saffron potatoes. While I have chosen to order some small plates: breaded goat cheese, calamari fritti with a side of tomato & mozzarella salad. For small plates, they were generously garnished and the food was so tasty! We did enjoy our food, it was divine. The staff was friendly and professional ! The food arrived pretty quickly and it was a fantastic experience to dine in. We would definitely be back when visiting York again. Note there is a 10% service charge which has mentioned on your bill, OPTIONAL. (No picture as we were so busy enjoying the food and the awesome decor of the place).

Initial waitress did not know the specials so disappeared for 5-10 mins to find out more info. During this time, another waitress tried to take our order whilst we waited for the other to come back. Initial waitress eventually came back to finish our order. We then waited about 45 mins, and another waitress tried to take a desert order before our meal had even arrived (presumably because we sat with empty tables for so long). Food eventually arrived after 50 mins or so. Food was lovely, despite being expensive. Main meals didn’t come with sides as standard, so had to be ordered extra. Once we finished, we waited 20 mins for someone to come and let us pay our bill, but no one returned. We eventually went over to bar to pay ourselves. The table next to us also followed our lead, as no one came back for them to pay their bill either. Overall, nice food but expensive and overpriced, with really really poor service.

Visited this restaurant last night for the first time and the food and service were fantastic I had lamb cutlets they were absolutely lovely. Great proper italian restaurant. Seriously good quality pasta dishes and pizzas. Could be a bit more expensive than the tipical pizza-italian brands, but that's the diference. It was quiet busy when we went, and the service was quick and correct. I really enjoyed it.

There's a new guy in town!!! Lovely meal with attentive but not intrusive staff. Great steaks! I'd recommend giving these guys a go. The wine list was well balanced and menu catered for all budgets. We spent 2 nights in York on holiday and happened upon this restaurant by chance and WOW, what a find. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes very generous. We liked it so much…. We came back the second night of our holiday! Absolutely lovely food and staff.

We went here with the family, great selection of food for all the family. We had a sharing seafood platter which we all enjoyed. We had the seafood linguini, stroganoff, carbonara and my youngest had a stone baked pizza. Great selection for the whole family. This is an example of a great independent restaurant that’s new to York and is now definitely one of our favourites in town.

The food was very good and it arrived very quickly. We tried starters and cocktails too which were yummy, I loved my calamari. Service was meh - we were in there for over three hours, the last hour spent trying to get one of the many waiters attention and then waiting to pay our bill. We were charged service charge on both drinks and food, which totalled at 25% (12.5 and 12.5). I know it surprised quite a few people because the girls next to us complained about it and the waiter insisted they were paying a normal charge while they said they were paying extra. The people next to them backed them up and also complained about it being split. I’ve worked in hospitality 15 years and I’ve never seen a charge on items rather than on the whole bill (why drinks and food separate?) and I’ve never seen a charge higher than 20% in more high end places. I was very surprised too. I don’t know if they ended up paying, we did because it was a few of us and we felt a bit awkward. Won’t come back.

Did not take any photographs, but the food was very tastefull and well prepared. I ordered risotto with seafood, and it was well filled with scalops, gamba's and mussels. The taste was magnificent, ans although the rice was too wet for risotto it was a treat. My girlfriend ordered pasta with pesto and meat and also this dish was more tan tasty. In good company off a nice Pinot noir and my gorgeous girlfriend a well spend dinnertime in Vitoria York. The waitress was cute, both of them and did their best to look after a full dining room while also learning her skills to a new waitress. Very charming couple, hope she gets a raise soon ;-)
