I have used P Blackhall Ltd for boiler services a few times over the years. I found them to be really friendly and helpful going out of their way to help me out when I’d left it quiet late in the day to book my annual gas safety inspection. Our tenants confirmed they were also efficient, professional and friendly during the inspection. Yesterday (Saturday evening) I also had to contact their out of hours service as our tenants had reported issues with their heating. Gavin offered to make a call to our tenants initially to see if he could assist over the phone. He made the call then called me straight back and thankfully he was able to assist with a temporary fix over the phone to see the tenants over the weekend. I would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again.

We had what can only be described as a persistent issue with one radiator in our home, several plumbing company's were tasked with resolving it and all failed completely. We then spoke with Blackhall Plumbing, the team persevered and the cause was uncovered (which was bizarre to say the least) the system now works perfectly. I can't thank the team enough (they didn't give up, which is what it takes sometimes) they will always be my first choice.

I had a washing machine and dryer installed in a hallway cupboard and needed drainage and water plumbed in. Ryan did an excellent job of plumbing in the new drain pipe and water supply. He was thorough and tidy as he worked and went above and beyond when setting up the machines. Really pleased with the work!

We'd just moved into a new property and the previous owners had recommended Blackhall who had installed and serviced the boiler for them. The boiler was in need of a service and there was a problem with the cold water tank that needed looking at. Was able to get an appointment booked in and Ryan attended to see to the work. Not only was he both very friendly and professional through out and thorough in the work, he had endless patience for my wide variety of questions. This covered not only the heating system as it was, but also on improvements we could make in future. More than happy to recommend Blackhall and will definitely continue to use them in future.

Really helpful to remove gas hob & cap and large kitchen sink & prepare pipework for new sink. Really pleased with service and would highly recommend. I've used Blackhalls many times and always been very happy. Most recently I needed a bathroom gutting for rot works and then reinstated. Ryan carefully explained the problems with the initial installation that had caused the rot, and made sure that in the end the shower screen fitted properly in the way it should always have done. The man just radiated a pride in doing a quality job and getting all the details right as if it was his own home. Communication for setting up times for the work was fast and easy. All tradesmen should be like this.

I needed some bits of plumbing repairs done in my house and having used P Blackhall before I asked them to carry out the work. Ryan and Derek were a credit to their firm. Dressed professionally in branded workwear they looked the part. The carried out the work diligently and courteously to the highest standard. The created minimal mess and cleaned up behind them and wore masks throughout the job. From quotation to completion, I was completely satisfied with the work and would recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work. Also, a local firm employing local people.

Boiler been dropping pressure for a while. Plumbers from other firms have tried things but to no avail. Ryan listened carefully to my account of all this, came up with a theory and found the leak within an hour. Part was ordered and fitted and problem solved a couple days later. Absolutely delighted with the outcome.

Blackhall had installed a new boiler for us when our 35 year old original needed replaced. Great job done, so two years later the old CH system needed some TLC as four radiators out of eight were not putting out sufficient heat. After I booked an appointment to have the boiler serviced and the system power flushed, Simon and Derek turned up bang on time. Simon serviced the boiler while Derek explained to me why a power flush of radiators of the old design wouldn't really work . However, by installing outlet valves at the opposite end to the intake ones, the through flow would enable them to be flushed. I agreed to the work and was pleased when they said the would do that and the flush cleaning that same day. Throughout the who;e process Simon and Derek worked away cheerfully and were pleasant company. The system is now functioning perfectly. I am pleased with the honest advice I was given a) that the flush wouldn't help without the extra work and b) I didn't need to replace any radiators. Grand job done by two friendly, trustworthy guys.

I am really impressed by the service of Blackhall Plumbing - fast, friendly and they finally solved the problem of our endlessly running toilet! They diagnosed the problem quickly and correctly, mended our cold water tank and then found a rare part to fix our old toilet. This problem with the toilet had gone unsolved for years, with many plumbers trying and failing to mend the toilet, saying it couldn't be mended due to its age. So it's brilliant to have the toilet mended finally.

Especially when our boiler broke down in November 2014, Blackhall Plumbing arranged a hassle-free replacement that was finishing within a couple of days.

We had an issue on one of our contracted sites with solar thermal panels that had been smashed and damaged, we were struggling to find a contractor specialist prepared to look at the works, I made contact with stuart from blackhall who I had a very easy conversation with who understood what was required and was prepared to quote us on the works required. To be very Honest I cant understand the negative views!, I can comment that yes its daunting when you expect a Job done for a few £100.00 and the first comment is "How Much"!....But you said etc etc. I found Stuart and his team very Direct with a Professional approach and yes sometimes bigger emergencies take priority and things can change,but if you work with them they will work with you!.Overall my suggestion is people looking at the negativity and NOT THE POSITIVE REMARKS ! should just be very clear on instruction and understand all the costs on small job that can turn out to be a bit longer/Costly than you expected(Not the news that you want to here sometimes) but if Stuart can do it the most economic way he will give you the best options! My Honest opinion is if you've got an issue with your Plumbing etc do not hesitate to call them. Tom Stamper Edinburgh

We engaged Blackhall’s in November 2017 to undertake a substantial programme of electrical jobs in our flat in Bellevue, which is part of a large old tenement on the edge of New Town. The work included installing a new distribution board for all the electrics in the flat, changing lights and switches, providing an EICR report, and also upgrading the smoke alarm system – including adding an alarm in one of the public rooms (with 14ft high ceilings) without damaging the decorative cornicing or creating an eyesore! The results were uniformly excellent, and we have since used this long-established family firm to do some plumbing work and for boiler safety certification.
