I used this company for a recent new full central heating installation in a large top floor flat. From the initial quote to commissioning the system, Jamie and his team were professional, punctual, hard working and efficient. Communication was excellent, and the job was completed in 3 days. Jamie returned a few days later to check everything was in order and to sign off the system. I'm delighted with the job, and have no hesitation in recommending Jamie and his Company. I will certainly use them for any future plumbing or heating requirements.

Made the call and arranged a time for the inspection visit and quote. Jamie arrived on time, first time. Couldn't say that about others who quoted for the job. All our quotes were quite similar so we chose McCartney as a Which trusted trader and a small independent vs the 'national' guys. Jamie (and his guys) arrived promptly each day of the job, worked very efficiently and cleanly considering the complexity of our removal and reconfiguration job. The work has been completed to a very high standard, very neat too and pretty much in exactly the time Jamie said it would take to do. I am a facilities/operations manager and I see and deal with lots of trades people. Jamie is one of the most professional I have dealt with in a long time. I would have no reservations in recommending his company to anybody. We are already asking him for input for a bathroom redesign were are considering early next year.

We needed a replacement boiler and some repairs to the pump and valves. Jamie responded promptly to my call and was extremely helpful on matters like the choice of boiler (which needed to fit into an existing cupboard) and how he would deal with the challenge of draining the system when our kitchen refitter had boarded up the drain for all time! Jamie was one of the Worcester Bosch accredited installers who quoted to replace my ageing boiler system and I was glad I picked him, excellent job done, installing a top of the range powerful combi and removing all the old tanks and redundant pipework etc, very professional, tidy and courteous. He then stripped out my en suite and completely refurbished it to a superb standard, Jamie of course does the plumbing work but also has a great team of a joiner, electrician and tiler, all these guys work non stop, no messing around and always on time, so much so that they are coming back next month to do the same to my bathroom, highly recommended !

He has also helped us out at very short notice to remove and replace our wall mounted central heating controller when our kitchen was being refurbished. When my boiler broke in the middle of winter, I got 3 contractors to come out and quote for the work and ultimately opted for Jamie as he took a professional approach, provided a detailed quote and talked me through the various options available to me. It wasnt a straight forward install as the homebuilders had installed the boiler in the middle of the house which meant their was no access to the flue (something which was confirmed by all 3 contractors) so Jamie had to block off the old boiler and install the new one in the attic to ensure my it met all current guidelines. He did a fantastic job, again being professional at all points and keeping things clean in the house. He also came back 2 weeks later to ensure all was working as it should. He has also been on hand and happy to answer texts for any queries that I have had when getting used to the new system. I would definitely recommend him and his company to others and will use myself for ongoing services and future work that I require. Thanks Jamie and team :-)

Jamie was very knowledgable and recommended a system that was different than I had anticipated, he was 100% right and it’s the best boiler I have had, great professional service, done in the time scales discussed and left a good clean quality job at a great price, I would highly recommend Jamie. Jamie also fitted a new shower that would work with the boiler and again the shower he recommended was really good and was supplied and fitted at a great price and all trades involved left a great, clean tidy job.

Having a new boiler installed is one of those usually occasional jobs which you hope will go smoothly, so it is a tremendous relief when it actually does go without a hitch. Picking the right boiler for your needs is the first challenge. The second is finding an engineer to install it. The Vaillant company offers customers a number of registered engineers to install a new boiler, but you still have to make the right choice. I did. Every stage of the job of installing the new bolier, from getting a quote, arranging a date and time for installation to the actual installation itself went off exactly as planned. I received prompt replies to e-mail and friendly, professional service at all times. There's not really much more you can ask for than that. Jamie did a great job of cleaning up afterwards as well. An excellent experience and a service I would recommend without hesitation.

Have used J McCartney for all plumbing work on my home. They are a household name in East Renfrewshire. Fitted a new Worcester Bosch boiler at very short notice after our old boiler broke down. Middle of winter and still managed to make it out with new boiler the following day. Work was completed to an excellent standard in a short space of time. Also fixed an emergency water leak.
