I am very satisfied with Graeme's service. He was very professional and keep the quote the same even though he purchase a bigger water tank. He removed a very old water tank, disposed of it and install a new one. He was very keen to perform also an additional job for me which was not included in the quote without charging extra. I was referred to Graeme by a friend who had had good experience with them in the past. My boiler had stared making painful noises just before the Christmas period. Graeme was able to come over on short notice to look at the issue, and was extremely respectful and professional in the process. Excellent job! When it started pouring water in the supply cabinet in our offices I called like a dozen plumbing companies in deep despair. All were totally indifferent and not really into helping us. Graeme picked up the phone right away, understood the urgency of the situation and was flexible enough to change his plans for the day just to be able to attend in an hour. Boiler on the blink this morning. Rang MCDGas, a Registered GasSafe Engineer. Graham McDonald answered immediately, he arrived & fixed the boiler within 3 hours. Splendid service at a fair price. Oh, and while he was there, he unblocked a slow draining kitchen sink too !! So, here’s the thing, I’ve paid British/Scottish Gas HomeCare cover for 10+ years. When I rang them this morning, after 30 minutes on the phone, the earliest appointment they could give me was ... March 5th ! 18 days away? Joke. ‘’Busy Cold Snap, Covid & Industrial Action’’ Hung up, cancelled my HomeCare, and rang MCDGas. My GasSafe engineer from now on.

Positive - Graeme did a good job overall. Feedback from guests since completion was that the new shower / bath dry walls were well done and good for long term. Ok - Response time, arrival expectations and approach to solving the water leak impacting flat below (which was reason for initial call out) was "ok". . . Fortunately the leak to flat below wasn't high rate of water. Negative - In terms of overall job, some finish and details not perfect though. And took quite a few days before returning to complete finishing trim and clearing up the materials left outside the flat and on the pavement which wasn't ideal. Hence only 3 stars. RM

I have an old boiler which gave up mid-December. Not knowing where to start, I searched on google for local engineers with a view to enquiring about a replacement. Having read the existing reviews, I decided to give Graham a call. First of all, when I explained that the boiler probably needed replaced due to age, Graham was quick to say it may not and that an economical repair may be equally possible, he'll just need to have a look. Graham came out at my earliest possible convenience and was quick to diagnose the problem (an old jammed fan), get it cleaned and working again and boiler is now running and sounding a lot better than it previously did. He came across a very genuine guy, excellent value for money and I will have no issues at all about phoning him in the first instance if I run into any further problems with this. After we reported a smell of gas at our property, SGN visited an advised of an "immediate danger" at our house and shut down the supply from the meter into the house. After contacting various companies who seemed more interested in discussing their ridiculously high call out charges and potential costs rather than our emergency, we called Graeme at MCD. Within 2 hours of that call Graeme had came to our home, identified the problem and fixed that problem. Not only was he methodical in the process of elimination of possible causes, he took the time to explain each situation and possible remedies. His advice was sound and we felt fully confident in the agreed course of action. He worked tirelessly until the job was complete and left after tidying up at midnight. He also reminded me that we could contact him for a follow up check of the system any time. 24 hours later; boiler pressure, heat, hot water and new timer are all working perfect. We called Graeme after being told we needed all the pipes under our house replaced due to a gas leak. we were not convinced this was necessary and had been quoted £700 and wanted a 2nd opinion. On the phone Graeme immediately said that what we had been told was a last resort and he was sure that it would just be part of a pipe, if not something else and would be less than £100. He came round the next day and checked it out and actually it turned out the leak was coming from our cooker. He made it safe and it cost us £50! i am so glad we called him.
