Farthings provided an all-round fantastic service in completing our challenging bathroom refurb project to a high standard. From the quotation phase through to the completion we were impressed with Farthing's knowledge and guidance in all aspects of bathroom refurbishment Our project was carried out by Kelvin who was very friendly and helpful and showed a high level of skill in implementing the works. He also made a particular effort at the end of each days work to leave the house in a tidy condition and as functional as practicable which was greatly appreciated. Where third party contractors were required for specialist tasks such as window installation they were managed effectively to ensure the project was completed in a timely manner. We are very impressed with our two new bathrooms and would strongly recommend their services.

We engaged Farthings, having used them before, to refit our family bathroom and en-suite bathroom. They are a professional outfit. They sent a detailed quotation within a couple of days of their initial visit and also have an impressive showroom at their premises in Glenfield which is helpful when choosing products and tiles etc. Their prices are reasonable and comparable.We were allocated Kelvin for our job which commenced when they said it would. Kelvin arrived before 8 am every day. His workmanship is of the highest standard with great attention to detail. He is very engaging, nothing is too much trouble, he tidies everything away at the end of each day and, as has been said in other reviews, he hoovered our carpets. At the end of the job he even swept clean our garage! Amazing. He is a credit to himself and Farthings. We have 2 new bathrooms that we are delighted with, and we do not say that very often. We would definitely use Farthings again and are happy to recommend them.

Damaged pipe from main pipe to cistern. Polite lady on desk confirmed price for first hour but didn't comprehend issue. Agreed to call when engineer would be free. Engineer turned up unannounced the following day. Replaced damaged pipe from main to toilet with a flex hose but didn't fit an isolator. Joint was wet within minutes as nut hadn't been sufficiently tightened. Called to query absence of isolator - lady passed query upstairs. Got call from another engineer who visited only to state insufficient space between main pipe and cistern for a flex hose with isolator. Suggested lowering main pipe (at a cost of just under £100). Declined this and nipped to screwfix, got my own flex hose WITH isolator and fitted it myself within 10 mins

If I could give KELVIN a Ten-Star-Google Review, then I would. (Google will only allow 5-Stars.) Kelvin, of "Farthings Plumbers, Glenfield" is a true professional, & I wish to give credit, where credit is due. (And I hope his manager is reading). Turned up bang-on-time each day (of the 6-day job). TOTALLY Resolved our nightmare 18-month-long leaking shower; (badly leaking into the garage below). Lugged 20 HEAVY Marble Tiles up our stairs, & into the shower cubicle. (Typical of me to chose the heaviest tiles in the world!) He is approachable, chatty & friendly & nothing is TOO much bother! He is a true HARD worker, & you will be VERY lucky if you are assigned KELVIN to do your job. My new shower looks STUNNING! And I could not be happier. And it's a weight off my mind to know it no longer leaks. Two examples to PROVE how professional Kelvin is... One day I caught him hoovering my staircase carpet (just as he was about to leave!!!) I was gobsmacked! I had NO idea that was part of the service! I mean how thoughtful was that! And the 2nd example was that one day he brought a trainee along with him (to spend the day training the young apprentice). Anyway, I happened [by chance] to overhear a conversation whereby Kelvin said (to the trainee) that the previous night he had "Bought a special new tool off ebay to make his job easier & more professional"... So he is ACTUALLY buying (with his OWN money) tools from Ebay to make his work-life-management easier, and even more professional!! That is 120% dedication & commitment to the job!! I had Farthings fits a towel rail and boil service. All staff were very efficient. I also asked for a fire service the gentleman was very efficient and told us that really we needed a new fire and he point out why and we agreed completely. Had an old lead pipe that was leaking in the out house. Farthing were the only plumber to get back to me, came round within a week for a quote. Quote was a bit high I felt for the job but had no other options. Had a lovely guy come round and sort the tap in 1.5 hours. A few days later the tap started leaking, no fault of Farthing as the adapter is known to be difficult to get on properly. Same plumber came round on the Monday sorted it again. No problems. Would I use again? Yes I would, seemed a honest fella and honest company.

Extremely fast response and very friendly and efficient service. Water started pouring out of our ceiling due to a faulty outlet pipe joint on our shower. We needed it fixed quickly since we use the shower daily. Initially, we picked a provider from a random website. They promised to come the next day and took payment in advance (£122) but phoned us the next day to say they weren't coming until the next week. Found Farthings in the local (Leicester) listings and phoned them on the morning that the other company were supposed to turn up. Despite it being a Saturday during Covid lockdown, they had a very pleasant engineer (Kelvin) with us within 2 hours and he repaired the leak within minutes. Cost was £50 quid less than the internet quote and was rapid, friendly and efficient. High praise also for the lady who took my phone-call at Farthings after the first company had failed us. Helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. In this case, it definitely pays to shop local.
