Reviews of The Leak Team

Andrew and Charlie were brilliant.
Charlie was able to get me booked in easily and promptly and Andrew visited the property as agreed and on time. Water leak detected very quickly and advice provided together with report for my insurers.
I would highly recommend The Leak Team - honest, reliable and Andrew’s experience as a building surveyor provided that little bit of extra comfort in what other repairs may be needed to make the property good again.

The Leak Team were very professional and diligent when they investigated the leak in our property. We had a leak causing damage to our downstairs neighbour's property, but we couldn't see obvious signs of where it might be within our own property; we'd even had a couple of plumbers throw their hands in resignation at the problem. I contacted the Leak Team after finding them online and Andrew came to our flat shortly after. He has years of experience of this niche and difficult task; he found the leak within a few hours and was able to isolate the water supply from the damaged pipe until we could get a plumber for the final repair. This is an incredibly thorough investigative service, well worth the money, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation as us.

Among the most professional and trustworthy outfits I have ever encountered. They never attended to fix the leak because they first wanted to ensure that the leak was as likely to find as possible. Their staff member Charlie took me through a number of tests to rule out the boiler and since it couldn't be ruled out and the leak was not traceable when the system was cold, they did not attend eve though they had booked me in for an appointment. I had called 3-4 other outfits and all of them couldn't wait to come to the property and charge £600 +VAT for the day without caring about the status of my leak...it turned out the boiler itself was leaking due to old parts. If I hadn't listened to them I would have thrown £700 down the drain..These guys are really professional and real class..

I'd highly recommend The Leak Team; they did an excellent job. I had a leak of water from my tenement flat into the flat below, but the source of the leak was not obvious. I decided to use a specialist service rather than a plumber to avoid unnecessary damage to my flat in tracing the leak. After researching online, I chose The Leak Team. Andrew arrived as arranged. He found the source of the leak very quickly and explained the problem very clearly. He even checked the mains riser in the flats above and below and made some recommendations. His comprehensive report was emailed to me later that day and I forwarded it to my insurance company. My experience of the company from first contact with Charlie to final report was very positive.

I contacted The Leak Team as a result of advice from British Gas that the pressure loss in my boiler was due to a leak in the rads/pipework. Charlie was extremely helpful and sent me detailed e-mails of what I should check and what tests I should carry out to make sure that their visit had the best chance of locating the leak. The costs of a visit were made clear and though not cheap they compared very favourably with other leak detection companies, particularly as I am in Leeds and The Leak Team are in Newcastle. We pencilled in an appontment but as it turned out British Gas, on their third visit, discovered the problem was down to a defective heat exchanger within the boiler. So while on this occasion I did not need Charlie's services, I was impressed with the preliminary dealings I did have with his company and I have his number noted if needed in the future.

Although we didn't need to use the service in the end. The advice and guidance given to us by The Leak Team was invaulable and helped us have a better idea of what was happening with our heating system and what was likely to be causing the leak. Charlie couldn't have been more helpful and I wouldn't have hesistated to use the company if the leak hadn't shown itself in the end.

Great service - from the initial call to the engineer (Andrew) coming out the end to end experience was exceptional. Charlie on the phone was very knowledgable, asked lots of questions to establish what the issue could be and within a few hours of Andrew attending the leak had been identified.
We would have never found the issue ourselves unless we'd have pulled up all the floors in the house but had no idea where to start. The leak was 'hidden' in-between the wall and floor and behind fixed kitchen units - after receiving the report from The Leak Team (within a few hours!) we had the kitchen units removed as per Andrews analysis and there it was - a blown elbow joint, promptly fixed by my plumber and heating restored.
Money well spent - service, follow up and overall satisfaction 5 star. Thanks Charlie and Andrew - great job.

Our experience of the Leak Team is of service that could not be bettered!
Unlike the other national leak service, who wanted £125 simply to calculate the proposed charge, the Leak Team gave us a sensible quote on the phone and arrived to do the job only a few days later.
Their engineer arrived from Newcastle at 8.30 am (we live in Lincoln) and worked flat out all day, not even stopping for the lunch we offered him!
He had an impressive array of the latest and best equipment. He successfully located our massive leak using hydrogen gas. He then excavated the pipe in question( it was an outside pipe which he successfully predicted) and capped off the pipe stopping the leak to the garage tap.
Because of working so hard he finished the job by 5.45 pm. With any other engineer we suspect he would have wanted an extra day.
He then produced an excellent 6 page report with photos for our insurers and accepted payment the next day by BACS.
CONCLUSION- EXCELLENT SERVICE AT ITS VERY BEST!

We contacted them on Monday, came out on Friday and identified the source of the leak. Excellent communication; responded quickly and clearly explained the services they could provide in advance. Very happy with the service, would recommend.

New we had a problem with our cooper pipes in the concrete floor, but was unsure of where or how bad the leak was. Andrew from the Leak Team arrived on time, soon had the problems identified and the report was completed within 24hrs. Using the heat and sound gizmo's proved really informative. Recommended.
