Over the past 15 years, Mike has fitted two new boilers for me in previous houses. Most recently, he carries out the annual service on my boiler. Mike is very professional. He speaks directly and without ambiguity. He is chatty and shows his great knowledge and intelligence on a range of subjects outside his core plumbing skills. Mike is always busy so it is usual to need to phone him weeks in advance to be sure of getting an appointment. I have been amused and impressed watching him take calls while working. Mike can multi-task! Sometimes when I needed urgent help with a plumbing issue, Mike was too busy to fit me in for a visit. But he did not let me down. Instead, he helped by advising me on immediate steps to rectify my problem using my DIY skills. For example, about five years ago our Central Heating thermostat failed during the Christmas holiday period. Mike instructed me over the phone on how to bypass the thermostat. After the holiday, he came and fitted a new 'state of the art" Nest thermostat. I have no hesitation recommending Mike and his company Abbeymead Plumbing.

I have used Mike for 4 years now for my boiler services. He is reliable, polite, friendly and extremely helpful and all at a very reasonable price, much cheaper than others. He has just disconnected and reconnected my new cooker also, as I won't use anyone else, it's nice to have someone you can trust, Mike is a must for all your plumbing and heating needs.

Mike really knows just about everything there is to know about heating and plumbing. My partner and I have been using his business for the past couple of years and he has been brilliant. In February we had a new boiler fitted by Mike and his work was outstanding. He was able to change our boiler for quite a lot less than we were quoted by the online supplier BOXT and other plumbers in the area. Mike also spotted a pretty nasty boiler wiring error that had been done when the house was originally built and rather than calling in an electrician, he worked out what was wrong and fixed it in no time. He completed the work cleanly and to a very high standard. You can really tell that he loves what he does which stands out in his work and his enthusiasm. He's an excellent guy and an even better plumber. I couldn't recommend him enough.

Had a leak in the toilet, between the inlet pipe and the water tank, which needed sorting out as soon as possible. Everyone I called was available in 2 days time and their call out charges were very high, I called Abbeymead heating and they were very helpful, asked for pictures of the area where leak was and was able to quote based on the pictures. And the quote was a very good price too so when I accepted it he came same day and fixed the leak. He replaced a part in the toilet and on the joint where the leak was at no extra cost and it took much less time that I had expected, no fuss, just got on with it. I can't recommend him enough. He will be my first call from now on.

Mike saved the day with advice and help when my toilet flush mechanism fell apart making the toilet unusable. I phoned and after a quick discussion, Mike asked me to send him photographs so he could diagnose if this was a problem I could fix myself. On receipt of the photos he immediately phoned me and then WhatsApp’d me with details of the part I needed (with details of a local supplier that had the part in stock.) He then talked me through how to fit the part. It took me less than five minutes to fix and he saved me the cost of an emergency plumber. Definitely recommend.

Where do I start? Michael has serviced my boiler since 2017 and always very professional tidy and explains exactly what he is doing. (if you are interested) However... I first contacted Abbey mead heating and plumbing at the beginning of December 2016. I had a huge extension added to the house and what I was hoping for was a new fully pressurised system fitted. The plumber we had did the worst job, sub standard fittings the wrong boiler, never turned up and I was desperate to move my family back in for Christmas as there was no heating no hot water no toilets. I had phoned so many other plumbers at this busy time of year and there was only one that could see how frustrated and desperate our whole family was.. Michael of Abbey mead heating and plumbing "Saved Christmas" He worked so hard updating shoddy work to a very high standard giving us working toilets heating and hot water a week before Christmas Day.. All Michael needed was a big white beard and red coat..

Heating and hot water stopped working during Christmas weekend in covid tier 3 conditions. He couldn't have been more helpful talking me through how to troubleshoot and resolve the problem myself over the phone and via a WhatsApp during his bank holiday break. After trying numerous fixes, we were finally able to get everything going again. He was very patient with someone who isn't the most practical with these kinds of things.

Numb nuts here drilled through a gas pipe in the kitchen so had to call Abbeymeads Heating and Plumbing. He came out the next day during COVID-19 and was very professional. He advised me what I needed to do during this strange epidemic by opening windows and he was wearing a face mask to protect customers. After completing the job at hand he sterilised the area and everything was up and running again. This is the second time I have used Abbeymeads Heating and will not be the last.
