In the summer of 2020 I had chronic plantar fasciitis which had started in early 2019 and having tried everything from foot yoga, rolling a frozen cola bottle, PF socks, stretches and insoles I called Val to see if she could help me. She suggested we try a new laser treatment and I was delighted to be given a new option. She also massaged my feet and attempted to get knots out. The knots were significantly reduced by the massage, but it was the laser treatment that I believe had the biggest impact. I went from not being able to do the daily 1 hour walk we were allowed to do in lockdown, to now easily being able to walk for 2-3 hours per day, which I regularly do. I can now run too which was completely off the cards in the summer. I have some occasional pain still, but will go back to Val for top up sessions. The pain I was having was affecting my physical and mental health and I am so pleased I went to Val to get help. You don't need your podiatrist to be easy to talk to, but it is so nice that Val is. We had great chats while she was treating me. I have recommended Val to everyone I know with foot pain, including my husband who she diagnosed and supported. He now has no foot pain at all. I can't thank Val enough, I feel like a different person now that my feet aren't getting me down everyday.

First consultation with Val for laser treatment on my long standing Achilles tenon pain (due to years of high volume running / triathlon training). Lovely practice and Val really listens to the problem. Looking forward to finishing the treatment and seeing the results. Will review again once complete in a few weeks time. Would really recommend this practice. .................................................................................................................. I have just finished a series of 6 treatments over 3 weeks with Val on my Achilles’ tendon and wanted to share my experience. My Achilles injury has been on and off for the past 10 years. Something that is usually manageable, usually pain free at rest and usually gets worse with too much running, particularly hills and speed work. I would almost always run with some level of tolerable pain. Thought I would give this a go. This is a painless treatment that feels like getting ultrasound. It’s over quickly in around 10 minutes. First session, I didn’t notice anything. After the second session, it felt like the laser had flared it up - the same kind of feeling as if I had just done a race or a hard session. Interestingly, also the same kind of feeling after doing heavy heel drops as rehab or when a physio has been working on it. That evening I ran, pain free, even got a bit greedy and added some faster bits in which were also pain free. Next morning - pain free. This is rare. It has happened on occasion but rarely. As the sessions progressed, I continued to train as usual (I’m a triathlete and continued with all 3 sports). I would say that not every run was completely symptom free but I was certainly not in pain. For years, my limiting factor on how long I would run for would be dependent on how long I could tolerate the discomfort. The past few weeks, I was running what I wanted to run. I would say the biggest difference was after the second session. My biggest surprise was that after it feeling “flared up,” a run that same evening was better. I would have this treatment again on other injuries and would prioritise this for any twinges pre races.

Hi there. Peter McCourt here..... Due to ingrown toenails on Both feet, I was having difficulty walking, just putting my shoes on and even my slippers was painful. My daughter found their number and phoned for an appointment (Mobile appointment) as I don’t get about too well, soon gets a visit from Valerie the(Podiatrist) and what a relief (in both feet). I would also add that VALERIE has a wonderful armchair manner, and has nice warm hands and a lovely line in chat. So, all in all. Wonderful Value and I will certainly be giving Them a call in the future should I I Have the need. Thanking you PMcC.

Cannot recommend enough. Val is a temptress of the tootsie. I had partial nail avulsion on both sides of my big toe on both toes...but it may as well have been a massage in yoghurt, such was the skill and comfort experienced. Any issues ankle down, Val at Bearsden Foot & Physio is your gal!!!
