Can't go wrong with Bottle and Barrel. Not only is there the most incredible selection of really decent craft beers, ciders and mead, but it's also just such a great place to be. Warm atmosphere in a lovely space, very comfy and dog friendly. Bring your own food or order with the delicious fish restaurant over the road. Bottle shop to take beers home with you too. Above all run by a friendly and helpful team. A must visit for anyone in Aber.

Very impressed with this place. Having grown up in Aber and returning for a visit I was SHOCKED to see that a cafe I frequented 15 years ago has been turned into a BOOZER. Fantastic expertise and a homely feel, they've got an ever changing roster of beers, featuring plenty of small Welsh breweries. Also a great spot to avoid tourists during the summer holidays.

Found this pub tucked down a back street, must of walked 🚶‍♀️passed it so many times but won't again. Lots of craft beer to choose from, had the white chocolate and caramac pale ale 🍺

Excellent micropub selling an impressive variety of keg, cask and bottled craft ales and other craft drinks. Their current selection can be previewed on Untappd. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasters on request. Though there is background music this is the quieter version of the two pubs these people run, the other being the Bank Vault. No food on the premises but at certain times of day you can order for food to be brought to you from a nearby seafood restaurant.

My new favourite bar in town! Classy, shabby-chic type of decor. Cosy and warm atmosphere. Great ales. The host is a beautiful dog, she doesn't mind if you pet her! She hired two nice bartenders, too. And there's an arcade video-game machine. I mean, seriously... This is paradise. I wish they had whiskeys, too!

Zach and team provide an amazing experience for seasoned beer lovers and newbies alike! Although small, there is a great variety of seating area, if you want some privacy or to be more social. A surprise find in the middle of Aberystwyth. The pub/shop is really well presented with a few tables out the front, a couple of nice rooms inside plus a small courtyard out back. They don't server food but allow you to bring in your own, such as a takeaway, which would make for a great evening out. A different version of BYO, I guess! Entering the establishment, you arrive in the bar/shop area. There are a few beers on tap, plus any of the (shop) bottles are available. (There is also a good range of cider and gin) The difficulty for some of us is choosing which beer to have. Luckily the staff are very helpful and even offer small samples of the draft beer to try. Like many people, I stayed for a drink and also bought a few beers to take home. Highly recommended!

Just popped in for takeaway beer. Comprehensive selection, both on tap and in fridge, at an affordable price. Welsh beers and ciders available. Didn't stay for a drink but looks clean and comfortable and would be a nice environment to enjoy a relaxing drink or two so will have to visit again when I don't have to drive. Went here recently with my partner and had a very warm welcome. I recommend that you try their mead which proved a very refreshing drink. I was very impressed with the focus on Welsh drinks, as we have an incredible array of brewers in this country. There was also a very friendly dog, which won me over immediately.

This is a very welcoming and homely pub. It's rather compact but the decor is modern-rustic and fits in well with the vibe the establishment gives off. The bar is situated in the middle of the pub with seating areas either side and a small beer garden available at the rear. There is an excellent selection of Welsh beers/ales on tap, casked or in bottles as well as a selection of Welsh spirits. The staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the different beers and spirits available, which are all competitively priced. This is a local pub that supports local and start-up Welsh breweries producing small batch and craft beers; it is worth visiting and supporting for that reason alone. You may come for the beer but you'll stay for the atmosphere.

Hidden treasure. Real brewery with all the personality and character, far from franchises. The owner an encyclopedia of beer that will be happy to help you find the beer you like among 150. Dog friendly! The owner's dog, the most friendly, lovely and well behaved, the real owner of the place!!! 😂

Fantastic place. We were stopping in Aberystwyth for the night to break up our journey from Bluestone in Pembrokeshire back to Manchester. The old "*place your visiting* craft beer" google search did the trick and delivered this place. A great welcome from the barman (i believe he was the owner?) , the friendly dog and the locals. Especially as we were armed with our little baby and our toddler. All made to feel extremely welcome, the beer range was fantastic and were all Welsh which was really cool. The beer I had was brilliant and I even got some takeaways. Barman continued to play a blinder with his recommendation for food on the evening: Medina. Absolutely ace too.

Have come back west for the weekend. Randomly saw this place in a guide to beer in Ceredigion and paid a visit. What a fantastic place! Inside is well appointed and manages to be both modern and a cosy place to have a beer. Speaking of which, a wonderful selection of keg, cask and cider on tap. With a very varied, balanced and interesting range of bottles and cans from welsh breweries and beyond. Something for everyone’s taste here whether it’s popping in for a quick and tasty pint in a comfortable chair to plenty to take home to having a few beers with friends . The owner was very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Gem of a place and if I still lived back in Aber I’d be a regular. Long may it flourish.

The Bottle and Barrel is the place to go if you want to have an excellent beer, wine, gin, mead, or whiskey, and if you want to be served by people who know the true meaning of those terms. I can walk in there with a vague idea of what kind of beer I fancy, and proceed to have my mind blown. This glory is compounded by the fact that you can have any takeaway in Aberystwyth deliver to this venue provided that both are open. Do yourself a favour and visit the only craft beer bar in Aberystwyth.

Absolutely fantastic bar. Stocking all typed of beer - the vast array of choice is testament to the wide range of breweries operating in Wales. Zac has created a bubble of beery perfection here in Aberystwyth. Happy to provide samples of beer that take your interest, and a great knowledge to inform your choice. Cannot recommended the place enough.
