Just a minute walk from the beach front, this is a very stylish establishment with dark interior contrasted with flora feature walls and colourful cushions. The service was cheerful and very professional. We ordered several cocktails - the Ladders and Snakes, the Lord Ascot and by far my favourite the Mad Hatters Tea Party which came in a teapot with two little China cups. The cocktails are not especially cheap - ranging from £8.50 to £15 - but they absolutely outstanding and worth every penny! Combined with it's chic atmosphere and professional service you can't go wrong if you want a bit of style and luxury.

Myself and my partner visited this bar whilst we were in Aberystwyth for the weekend for my birthday. The cocktails are amazing 😍 Tropic thunder was sooo good, all made with fresh fruit and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and again, they welcome dogs.

Worked our way through most of the menu for a special occasion. Each cocktail had us questioning which one was our favourite time and time again. Some amazing creations, flavours and sweet treats - it would be impossible to pick just one. Not just the classic sickly sweet cocktails either.. some beautiful smoky, deep flavours available throughout the menu. Thank you - we will be back to finish what we started one day!

I walked past this bar and the vibe was intoxicating so I stopped in for a drink. Sykes the bartender was AMAZING, ultra cool guy, and very knowledgeable and helpful. The cocktails were soooo good, if you’re in town, you MUST try this bar!

Nice enough place, good cocktails, nice staff, and a nice vibe, until it gets even slightly busy. Then you realize it’s understaffed and the chill cocktail bar vibe turns into your standard pub atmosphere of people just crowding the bar making it impossible to order, or even get back to your table.

GO HERE. Seriously the cocktails are unique and imaginative, served professionally and with flare. They do the standard classic cocktails also, and our designated driver was extremely impressed with her non alcoholic mojito. Prices are extremely reasonable for such impressive cocktails, and the staff are friendly and helpful, Alun recommended our last round of drinks as we couldn't decide, and they were perfect. Honestly I will be coming here every visit to Wales I do. A fantastic venue, with a cool decor and genius theme. The menu is well thought through and the whole place is just so cool. Great alcohol quality, great and knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and cool decor and atmosphere. Seriously GO HERE.

Visited The Libertine during a short trip to Aberystwyth with some friends for drinks. Staff were decently quick considering they appeared understaffed for the night and how busy the place was. Really interesting and unique decor and fab atmosphere. Lovely place to pop in for a few drinks. The cocktails were of an average price.

The music was beyond loud I couldn't hear my mother. Staff would refuse to turn it down. They had a table full of people shouting their lungs of to talk. Nothing being done about them. The drinks themselves are nice. The staff are polite and nice. If you have a noise sensitivity or get irritated by loud people I wouldn't come here. Otherwise give it a go.

Fantastic cocktail bar, where we had a great selection and introduction to the intricacies of cocktail tasting. The expert bartender we encountered was Simon, and he was able to create a chocolate/Turkish delight cocktail. An incredible feat!

One of the best cocktail bars I’ve been too, there is a menu of house Cocktails called The Yellow Book, No1 for me was Babou’s Bite, my wife loved 7emon Deadly Sins! Fantastic Decor and some chilled House Tunes topped it off! Well recommend if visiting Aberystwyth 👍🏼

Atmosphere is great, staff are super friendly and helpful. Only downside is just how expensive the cocktails are now - £8.50 each. While they are beautifully made and very tasty, not somewhere you could stay for long at those prices!

I find it odd that people are leaving bad reviews, you can't go to a cocktail bar and complain that they don't sell many beers... It's not a beer bar. We had a great couple of hours at The Libertine. Fantastic staff who were happy to help and make any cocktails you wanted! I requested alcohol free and both times I had a delicious mock tail. Staff really listened to what flavours you liked and made drinks accordingly. Great atmosphere, would definitely recommend. If you want cheap drinks and a selection of beers, go to wetherspoons rather than complaining that a cocktail bar sells cocktails.. 😝

Nice bar with great staff. The menu we were given was a bit more limited than previous ones we had seen on the Facebook page, and there was a bit of a issue with lack of responding to Facebook messages regarding table bookings, which wouldn't be an issue if there was another method of contact. As it was, we were very lucky there was one table free when we arrived as walk ins. The rope across the door was a bit misleading, but we were seated nonetheless. The cocktails were great, as was the atmosphere, and although it was a bit pricey it was a good evening. If I had to suggest any changes I would add a phone number for contact means, or a better Facebook representative as our message was only read almost 48h after we sent it, and 24h after we had been and gone to the bar. Additionally having a "classics" menu available as well as the unique cocktail menu would be helpful. Would recommend for a calm evening with close friends.

A very cute cocktail bar, with really lovely staff: the day we visited they were between menus and recommended ordering classics or they would give suggestions based on what you like: I annoyingly (inadvertently!) asked for one they weren't familiar with but they went away and figured it out and made a great Manhattan. Other cocktails were delicious too.

Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and very nice wine. Good range of cocktails on the menu plus the staff will go off menu if you ask for a specific cocktail. Lighting has improved so the place is far brighter than before, enabling you to actually see your drinks and the people you are with. Decor could do with improving, but that's only a minor gripe. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

A very good cocktail bar in Aberystwyth. Great selection of some of your typical cocktails and some less well known. Service is excellent and the staff can't do enough for you. I recommend the Lord Byron and the smoked old fashioned. Don't miss out on experiencing the Table Top Whimsy either.

Quirky, unique experience... Loved the unique interior, the quirkiness of the drinks served... The atmosphere was very chilled even though we were the only ones in there for a while; I liked the table service and suggestions for drinks on arrival as the menu was quite overwhelming until we had time to study it. Lovely place to drink with a group of friends in both the daytime and the evening. Reasonable prices, £5 during happy hour. Small selection of games to play, such as Jenga, cards, dominoes and chess. Plus you easily forget you're drinking cocktails and accidentally get plastered.

A great atmosphere when its quiet, but can be a little crammed when its busy, but this is to be expected in a Uni town. Slightly higher costs for the area but the beverages are made to a very high standard and the only place outside of the main cities that you can get a professionally made cocktail.

Nice bar, very nice bar for an evening out. Not really a dress code but you'll stand out if you're not smart, no TVs, no pool table, no food but cocktails and a grown up vibe. If you have a bloody Mary careful with the spice, I made that mistake and had to almost drain the complimentary cucumber water from the bar. The staff are good, efficient and knowledgeable on the drinks and can advise and suggest something different too if required. Table service is a nice touch and the decor is shabby chic, not the cheapest place but I guess you get what you pay for.

The drinks at Libertines are great - the Mad Hatters Tea party is one of my favourite. The atmosphere is also great apart from the music. The music is far too loud and you can barely hear other people talking. I want a relaxed atmosphere where I can relax but it is slightly stressful when you have to shout to be heard.

This place is like a restaurant for cocktails. Difficult to get a seat when busy but when you do you order your quirky overpriced creations from a menu. Good for the experience but don't stay for more than one or you'll be bankrupt.

My experience in the libertine was definitely 5 star , I was greeted in a friendly manner and was impressed when I ordered a recommendation from the bartender . It was a milk shake cocktail served in a test tube glass on top of steaming ice in a glass .the drink was absolutely delicious and was an understandable price for the service . I certainly also recommend a raspberry daqueri .
