We went for the wine and cheese night, a guided tour of 6 individual wines. A great lesson in seeing, smelling and tasting. Atmosphere was very cosy and the sommelier is incredibly knowledgeable. A real find in Bedford and highly recommended.

Was given a voucher for my birthday and I can’t tell you how glad I am. This place is a gem. The best cheese I have ever had, anywhere, ever. Fabulous atmosphere, lovely staff and did I say the best cheese I’ve ever had? We will be coming back and we will also be buying cheese from here from this point on. All other cheese is dead to me. I would have given it 10 stars if I could. Perfect.

Nice cosy environment & the lady that served us was incredible, so knowledgable and attentive to everyone’s needs. We had the Camembert, cheese board & wine flight - the flight was paired brilliantly. Lovely cheese selection, 10/10 for the server

This is a really small bar / restaurant but provided a brilliant experience for a group of friends to catch up. There were only two members of staff working which shows the tiny scale of the place but fortunately they were both efficient and attentive throughout our stay. The menu could have done with being more descriptive, such as outlining what each dish and platter came with but the staff were able to give a good overview. There’s a fantastic range of cheeses on offer and the portion sizes served certainly aren’t scrimped on! The sharing patters are presented well with a good selection of grapes and chutney. Complimentary baskets of bread were provided which was delicious and there was no issue getting refills. Wine selection is good too at reasonable prices. Overall it is a wonderful place for a relaxing evening with good friends. There’s a nice atmosphere and for cheese lovers the best option in the town. I’ll certainly be returning!

Absolutely loved my experience here! Great selection of wine & cheeses and everything I tried was fabulous! I had a brownie for dessert and it was amazing too! Portions are more than reasonable so I wouldn’t eat a big meal before visiting - myself and my partner got the 4 cheese board with a side of olives and we still had some cheese left over. Next time we want to go bigger so we are planning to eat quite early so we can fit it all in! Staff were very friendly & knowledgable on the menu which was great in helping us decide what to have. Cannot wait to go back! If you have never been to Bedford I would look up parking before you visit.

Absolutely fab!! A great little bar for catching up with friends to have a drink and picky nibbles. The staff are so attentive and were happy to explain the variety of cheeses on offer. I would highly recommend.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Decant; even though it was busy, the owners Marc & son Tristan were incredibly attentive and friendly and the whole group raved about the quality of the produce. We opted for the party board (meats & cheeses) and a few bottles of Montaignan Carignan, recommended by Marc. We stayed late into the evening and will be coming again very soon. Merci!

Great ability to pair your cheese and wine without being pretentious about it. A broad range for lots of tastes including some great gins that I hadn't tried either. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and the cheese was excellent. We went with a group of 8 which was accommodated well. We ended up as a four and atmosphere just as great. Really lovely place whether you are a pair for a quick one class and a taste of cheese or a long evening catch up. Great addition to the area.

This place is amazing!! There were 10 of us who came here to celebrate my friends birthday. We were greeted by Josh the owner who was very hospitable and charming; he put together a cheese board and recommended some wine which were absolutely gorgeous! I've recommended this venue to everyone I know! Thank you for the great experience!

A great addition to the Castle Lane area of Bedford. A great selection of wines and cheeses and the sharing boards are always nicely presented. I have visited quite a few times now, including an organised Cheese and Wine Pairing Evening which was extremely well run and very informative. Always find the staff friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit.

Tiny, Cosy, Affordable still POSH, and Good Quality! Good-friendly service, the staff was helpful in explaining what all the cheeses are and what to choose, depending on our taste. We ordered a big sharing platter of cheese and it was ample for 3 of us. Wine for only £18 was decent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A group of 6 of us attended here for an evening and had a wonderful time. Clean, plentiful wine and high quality cheese. The atmosphere and staff were fantastic and made the evening. Highly recommended

It was a nice evening but we felt it was very expensive for what it was. The staff were lovely but in all honesty, £45 for a cheeseboard, camembert, one glass of red wine and a relatively sparse basket of bread seemed a lot...
