Popped in for a few beers before heading back to Coventry . Great bar staff and service !!! Sat in the garden with our drinks !!!!. A big thanks to the woman behind the bar who gave my mate a baby bottle as his drink when he got back from the rest room !!!

When we went to King William IV many items were not on the menu, I wanted fish pie,my husband wanted Salmon. His second choice ,ham egg and chips was also not available,or his third of nut roast. We had to settle for chilli and fish and chips respectively. The food was hot and plentiful, and the waitress helpful. We will go again in near future when hopefully more choices will be available.

My husband and I Just moved to the area. We were walking past the place and thought we'd check it out. They accommodated us despite no pre-booking - we both had a lovely steak dinner. The staff were very friendly and polite. Think we've found our new local! :)

We go there most Friday's for lunch, and have never had a bad meal. Michaela and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Whilst we have been aware that there have been a few teething problems with new staff, as far as we have been aware any complaints made to Michaela have been dealt with in a polite and courteous manner. As with any new change over not everything goes as smoothly as one would wish for, but it is always how the issues are dealt with that matters and as far as we are concerned we have no reservations in going there on a regular basis.

Nice local pub but food was rather hit & miss. A group of us visited recently for dinner. The pub itself has plenty of character and is quite welcoming. The car park is reasonably sized, with on-street parking available if required. The let down for us was the food. The menu felt a little restrictive with a number of traditional meals on it. There was also a special 'burgers' menu with some appealingly described burgers. Our initial waitress was very welcoming, but when their shift ended we were left in limbo, with some older staff less than happy to help. The biggest let down was the execution of cooking. The chicken breast in the chicken burgers was overcooked and dry and charred where it'd been sat on a hot griddle too long. The 'flaming hot' chicken burger was barely noticeable and spicy, with little flavour other than the chicken. The desserts were fairly lacklustre too. The 'mint chock' cheesecake was barely either minty or chocolatey. The chocolate fudge cake was the worst though. It had clearly been microwaved and overheated. Some of the fudge had melted and stuck to the plate and the outer portion of the cake was pretty much rock solid (although it did make a pleasing 'thud' when hit with a spoon). Mention of the disappointments appeared to fall on deaf ears. In short, won't be in a hurry to return.

A Lovely pub/Restaurant if you don't mind paying a premium price. It used to be my local of a 2 minute walk and if I caught it at the right time a good laugh with the clientele and bar staff. Expect to pay non competitive prices for food and drink but you get what you pay for so don't expect an unsavoury crowd, I always enjoyed my times in there but as an alternative to cooking my own dinner it was probably cheaper to drive to a nearby chain that does a carvery 7 days a week.

Now under new management, friendly and welcoming. The food and service were excellent. We went for a friday lunch, and the fish and chips were superb. So much better than my last visit four years ago.

This is a really nice historic building which makes for a really cosy and traditional pub vibe. For the winter months there’s also an open log fire which is fantastic. The adjacent bookcase, although filled with a very random and old selection, is a nice touch. There’s lots of seating near the bar as well as a spacious dining area round the back. There’s also a few pub benches outside on the pavement. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming, as well as serving drinks quickly even during busy times. Plenty of choice is available on draught with some more unusual options too. Despite the age of the place everywhere was clean. Although also old and a little tired, the same is true of the toilets. Overall it’s a really nice pub which is ideal for a more relaxed drink and catch up with friends and a favourite of mine in the area.

It’s quite reasonably priced for food considering how much I pay at Brewers Fayre ! But I haven’t tried the food here as I usually stick to hot drinks whilst hubby has beer. It’s quite expensive compared to other pubs so as much as we like it, two pints a week is our limit. It’s hit or miss if the staff say hello or goodbye to you which to me sadly let’s me stop giving it 4 stars. Customer service is very important to me. The atmosphere is cosy and apparently there is a haunted door behind a corner unit which used to keep opening itself (hence why they’ve blocked it).

Recently visited in March 2020 and the establishment is under new management. Excellent and enjoyable food, vegetables well cooked, and food nice and hot. There are a good range of tasty vegetarian options. Including halloumi and jackfruit, which was new to me but quite interesting. Good Sunday lunch (which included vegetarian option). All at quite a reasonable price. Staff and management very welcoming, and very accommodating should you want the food different to the menu (mash potatoes swapped to roast potatoes, for example). Would recommend a visit.

Nice little pub just a shame that the outside smoking area isn't looked after. I'm not a smoker but my friend is and well, you couldn't get another cigarette bit in the ashtray if you tried..the little wooden covered seats full of cobwebs(must be getting ready for Halloween already) and a big rusty nail sticking out...needs some attention

I've been here a dozen or so times and that speaks for itself! The staff are efficient and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. It has an old English pub style, very cosy and old fashioned. The food is varied and good,, it's not a 2 for £10 type of place, but it's not over priced either, I would recommend.

Been here a couple of times. Got an almost telling off for not knowing the limitations on ordering for sunday carvery, when they havent even been communicated. The steaks are alright. Nit great, and they could do with putting the steaks sauces next to the steaks in the menu and asking people who order the steak if they want a sauce because without one I wouldn't recomend you have the steak. It will be overcooked, so order it rarer than you want it.

It was ominous when we heard the smiths playing "it was nothing William" as we opened the front door to said eaterie. Why am I giving said eaterie five stars, why indeed madam? It has to do with Jose and Rodriguez, the chefs. Basically they treated us like we were Kings and Queens. I was at said eaterie with my girlfriend's, boyfriends, and friends of no chosen sex. Jose picked up on the fact that we were all like flowers on a wild moor in Autumn. Rodriguez pulled up a chair and joined us, we drank wine, we laughed, danced, and cried together. The last time I got looked after better than this was when my Granny Betty was still with us. I miss her so terribly much, she was the only one who showed me understanding and most importantly, gave me acceptance. Rest in Peace Granny Betty. Much Love neutral brethren.X
