Reviews of The Pheasant
T. M.
This pub is alright, definitely on the pricey end of things. Burger was very dry and the beans had clearly been sitting under a heater for a good while, the table was so wobbly and bumpy my drink actually spilled twice. They only replaced it once which was a shame. Seens as i was soaked. We still had a lovely afternoon here. The staff were great, the inside is very clean. Toilets spotless.
Ordered a brownie but unfortunately a cheesecake came out. Then I was told it was a brownie, even though I have eyes and could clearly see it was not a brownie. Told it came with a scoop of ice cream but it came with normal cream. I then had to pay extra to actually get the ice cream. It seems to me that this establishment would rather get every penny possible than keep the customer happy. Which is a shame. I probably won't be back as it felt like dispute after dispute. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great either

Sunday lunch and beers. Nicely redone place, quite busy. Friendly welcome and service. Beers excellent.
Long wait for food, over an hour but as I say it was busy and the staff were all on the go.
Had the pork belly roast which was very good but would have expected 2 slices of pork rather than the one received.
Sausage stuffing balls were excellent but really should not be an extra.
All in all good food, beers and service barring the wait.
Not a cheap meal with the extras but enjoyable.

Friendly staff nice garden out the front, sadly disappointed with my meal, the quality and the size of the portion.
I had to pay extra for peas which is not on really, meals should come with at least one choice of veg and not a way of making more money by charging for peas.
Hope this can be seen as a constructive suggestion rather than a moan

First visit since the refurbishment and new landlords and it didn't disappoint at all. In fact we liked it so much, we decided to have a meal there! The food was cooked to perfection! Staff were really friendly and made us feel so welcome. We felt so relaxed, even though the pub was really busy by this point. We will be regular customers there for definite!

Staff very friendly. Food tasted great but bit pricey for amount on plates. Nice atmosphere & a comfortable visit.

Pretty good pub that in the summer has a bouncy castle for the kids to play on. I personally really enjoy the nachos starters as they are big enough for me to eat as a main and really enjoyable. The main let down is the service as they are very slow and take forever but the food is usually worth the wait. Its best to go to the bar to order and don't wait for a waiter.

What a great welcome me and my family had so warm ans welcoming.
I had the beef burger on Saturday it tasted so fresh and juicy! I'm definitely coming back. Lovely refurbished pub.

Lovely pub and beer garden, plenty of vegan options for a bite to eat which is great. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Very decent pint of Guiness but some of the drinks are a bit on the pricey side id nearly say London prices. But besides that couldn't fault the place will definitely be back as its a nice spot to sit outside relax and enjoy a pint!

Had a lovely lunch today in the garden. Sandwiches were amazing and very friendly staff. So lovely to have been able to have our dogs with us too and was even brought a big bowl of water for them. Will definitely be visiting again soon

I visited recently on a Sunday afternoon and sat in the garden. The garden is pleasant, large, well kept, and the tables aren't too crowded together. I didn't eat but the Guinness was good, as it should be.
A bit pricey for me but that's S.E. England I suppose.
There was hardly anyone inside the pub except lots of staff, but it was a warm sunny day.
Fun Fact.
This is the only pub/bar I've been to anywhere in the world where the customers form a single orderly queue to be served. One person at a time being served, with the queue stretching out of the door.

Nice pub, lovely outside seating area and inside looks good too. Ordered roast beef dinner but beef was inedible, couldn't even cut it, we were given a pork belly slice and apology but spoilt the meal for us. Dessert was good though.

Good atmosphere in this recently refurbished pub, good selection of high end beers available. Staff were friendly and time taken to be served was good. Pub was nice and clean garden area is lovely, We will definitely visit again.

Very well done renovation. Staff seem lovely (huge improvement on previous owners) and food was all right all though a bit pricey (everywhere is these days).
All together somewhere to rival the park inn pub and a welcome addition to the area.

Made very welcome by all of the team. They explained we had to order our food from the bar and checked everything was ok. Had sandwiches and chips, good portions and what we expected. Nice local pub with great indoor and outdoor seating.

Was a nice meal had a Sunday roast special.
We were lucky to get a table as it was fathers day and we booked on the day. Was not too busy, it has been all renovated great garden.

Went here with two friends at lunchtime. The food was very nice and freshly cooked. The best thing about my visit was the staff who were very friendly and couldn't do any more for you than they did. The only reason for a 4 star is because they are just a little bit expensive.

Living close by I have been looking forward to trying this place since it re-opened. Unfortunately it didn’t go quite as expected. We were celebrating a birthday as group of 9, most of our party’s food was good but a couple of our starters and my main course fell short. However after speaking to the manager to raise our concerns, we found him very receptive and we came to a fair resolution. The manager cleary cares about wanting to do a good job, and at the second attempt my main course was nice, but I did end up eating on my own as everyone else had already finished. In any case everyone can get it wrong and the managers willingness to make it right, showed that they care. I will definitely go back and I will gladly leave another review, which I hope will do the food and staff justice.

The pub side of this establishment is perfect. However when I ordered a chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, I was served a chocolate cheesecake with fresh cream. The chef argued that this is infact a brownie his exact words (its a hard tart base with a soft creamy topping, which is a brownie) like he didn't just describe a cheesecake and think I'm going to fall for his lies and just assume that he must be correct as his the chef.

Garden's been done up nice. Food decent (especially the cheesecake!) - Had some good laughs with the staff.
Its worth popping in just for the cheesecake. ;)

The work done on the revamp is excellent, lovely inside decor and a great beer garden perfect for a few post golf beers in the sun. Polite, friendly staff however when I ate today we had to wait 40 mins for three basic main meals, 1 of which arrived 5 minutes after the other two. Reason for delay was due to one of the chefs not turning up, nobody’s fault but it would have been courteous to have mentioned this before we ordered. Food was ok although in my opionion not to the standard of the other pub restaurants in Bedford.

Popped in for a quick pint before going to collect son from school.
Not been here for a while.
The refurbishment is awesome.Such a fresh welcoming look too.
Friendly staff too
Used to my regular but now live out of the area but maybe call in again sometime
E. L.
Not much difference from previous landlords, I felt I was an inconvenience, waiting to be served, only one person before me,
Got taxi to town, where I was treated better in every pub,
Minimum effort here for customer services, had food before, average,
Same as Wetherspoons, but dearer.
This could be a great pub with nice garden, If only the staff tried harder.
I. T.
Family friendly pub in a very nice setting. Good quality food and fresh beer from local brewery. Try it on a warm summer evening, has an island feeling to it.
L. H.
Lovely meal and staff , have been 3 times now and no complaints.

Visited with a group of friends from work on a Monday evening, not busy when we arrived. Excellent meal and service, well looked after . Highly recommend the BBQ Beef Brisket Bites as a starter and the classic Scampi and Chips main.

Surprise 80th BD on11th sep22. Superb venue layout incl the garden area. All family present of five generation's. Very welcoming and easy afternoon with staff smiles and attendance. Lovely buffet with doggy bags. Beer is good and a choice of quite a few. A much improved venue from last visit. We will return. OLD Neil Folbigg now.

There was a shortage on a few main courses but the quality of the food was great, far better than we expected. Lovely, friendly staff too. Thank you!
T. M.
Great out door area with a good atmosphere, staff were not unfriendly but not engaging either, expensive drinks, i imagine this is because it has been completely refurbished. Plenty of car parking. Did not eat here.
S. S.
Had dad's wake here can't fault the staff and organisation, bar service really good food plenty and good quality. Was looked after really well. Thanks on a tuff day for us all.
T. W.
Had Sunday lunch here last week for the first time, food quality was excellent but the quantity let it down I had the roast beef only 2 small slices and at £13.50 I would have expected more, we will try again and see if this improves, the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful
T. P.
A perfect place to meet up with friends, have a drink and enjoy a full of flavour meal. All at prices that meets my budget! A winner every time for me!
D. H.
Only popped in for a pint. Realy nice building and garden. Plenty of staff on hand for you orders. Will be visiting again.
S. B.
Rather disappointing. What can I say other than Weatherspoons has come to Brickhill, but it will cost you more money and the choice of menu is very limited. There is no separate till for food orders and you have to queue in line with people ordering drinks. Not a pleasant experience if you want a relaxing evening out. To give them some credit, the staff were working their socks off and the food although basic fast food was at least hot. Unfortunately this will not be one our regular place to go.
P. C.
Great place, Karen and her daughter Lisa are happy and welcoming 👍food is also great and excellent value for money, and £15 presseco 🥂on our doorstep 😀🥂
P. L.
Nice refurbishment, friendly staff, tasty food (we had fish & chips), good range of BrewPoint beers, real ale quality OK. Good to see the place back in business after a long shut down.
S. A.
This place is really attractive now, a beautiful covered outdoor seating area with sofas. It serves food but we didn't eat so can't comment, although the desserts being taken to the table next to ours looked yummy
S. D.
Great sitting in the sun in the new beer garden. There is even a covered area. Will go again.
D. B.
The Charlie Wells DNA beer was on top form. We will be back for more! Excellent revamp of the interior and garden areas of the pub.
K. M.
