S. F.I’m so sorry I forgot to tip!! But honestly this is hands down a brilliant place for food. I took my 8 year old and 4 month old and they were lovely; so accommodating and interacting with my youngest. The true Irish spirit, I loved it!

friendly staff and good value (thanks to extended Eat Out to Help Out promo) but it was the time factor, whether this was kitchen or wait, but the table next to my partner and I had ordered, received starters and mains by the time we then received our meals. I was a basic Chicken Stack (2x halved breaded chicken breasts, mash w a pot of steamed veg). Please dont get me wrong, it was tasty but the time to receive this was disappointing. Drinks service is fine but food left a bad taste in my mouth...

L. W.Completely refurbished in the lockdown and very much changed from the slightly dingy pub in my memories. Really lovely, helpful and friendly staff, worth going back for that alone! But the food was outstanding, from the freshly made chunky chips to the luscious creamy chowder. Everything seems to be made on the premises including the hot fragrant fresh breads. Everything comes piping hot and in very generous portions.Very reasonably priced - especially for a central Belfast restaurant. I'll definitely be back.

Following a reservation for lunch for five we enjoyed a lovely meal but we were asked to drink up & vacate our table as they had just taken another online booking which had just arrived.
This resulted in our party moving to another nearby establishment were we gladly spent a further £200+ at our leisure.
Not very business savvy Fountain & we'll not be back for our Christmas outing. 🤶

t.Bar was busy on a Saturday afternoon, big premiership match on, and we had no booking. Staff did their best to accommodate us which was great, good menu selection, didn't eat but the food looked good. Only previous visit, remember the staff being friendly and helpful too which seems to be getting less common. Overall a nice bar.

C. M.Good bar right in the City centre. Very close to shopping, cafes and other amenities. Decent space inside with an area outside to watch the world go by if the weather allows that. Prices are reasonable by Belfast standards. Clientele range from locals to out of town visitors to tourists from further afield. Staff seem pretty helpful which is a plus factor for sure. Worth a visit if in town and fancy a coffee or a pint.

A.Upstairs we had a great meal with great beer served by a lovely friendly waitress. Although the decor is a bit tired we we were seated in comfortable cosy seats, well spaced out where you can enjoy a proper catch up with friends. Live music downstairs at weekends which can be very busy but that just adds to the atmosphere. Lovely friendly old pub which has stood the test of time continuing to deliver where other more modern bars have failed. Well done to the owners and staff.

The government and local authorities are going to wreck our country and close alot off places down . The local authority don't care first no entertainment yous are a joke places like the fountain will fade away but as long as the big wigs are ok let the people jog on . Very cosy and friendly, good prices and the acoustic guy playing when I was there was brilliant. Handy as an escape from the rush of town, a more old school bar than somewhere like Voodoo.

N. F.I went for lunch at Fountain Lane (the old Fountain Tavern) today expecting food that would be ok. Well, was I wrong. I decided to go for something that I was used to eating in restaurants. I ordered the cod with prawns and mussels and it was fabulous. The fish was cooked perfectly, the prawns and mussels also. And the veloute was delicious! My friend had the steak and Guinness pie-lots of tender steak and no fat. The staff were also lovely. This place far exceeded my expectations. Really worth going to. I will be back.

L.Brilliant wee bar and restaurant. I see it as Belfast answer to cheers, very welcoming and friendly staff and lots of lovely patrons. Live music on a Sunday afternoon. Also on a Friday and kareoke and disco sat night, great place for groups or a place to take a break when out shopping on your own. Very sociable friendly atmosphere and always drink deals on offer. Highly recommended.😄🔆☀️❤️

F. S.Recommended to us by a local. Place was friendly and we went for the steak night special which included beer! Food was as ordered steak and chips. Bit surprised they stopped serving food at 7.00pm and the place emptied out by 7.30pm leaving us feel a bit rushed.

M.The bar has just had a refurb.it is lovely inside and the staff r all very friendly.we were told to take a seat an the only booth was near the door i had to put my coat back on as the draught coming in was freezing this is how the waitress had to take the food down to the bar so you can imagine how many times the door was opened.the roast beef dinner was lovely but the pan fried chicken supreme was very disappointing the chicken was to well done and very dry you got a small potato boxty which was horrible a bit of cabbage with bacon mixed through it (i cant eat bacon )a slice of carrot and gravy i did not have much to eat. for £13.95 i think there should have been either chips or potatoes with it plus it was a very long wait for the food to arrive.
