So good to be back and there’s been changes! A beer garden out the back doubling the space, a kitchen so that they now provide food from 4pm Thursday to Saturdays. Still able to bring our food in from Benny’s Cafe next door. Great pints. Really chatty staff as always and a regular Friday hub for the workers
O. D.
We loved it here! We came for dinner (they have food from Thursday to Sunday, if I understand correctly) and some drinks. It would be even better, if the kitchen would give real plates and cutlery instead of single-use stuff. But the staff was super cute and they were fine using our lunchbox for the vegan antipasti :-) and there are more vegan options available!
T. O.
First time here and just ordering drinks (they also serve food) but really impressed. Clean, great theming and great beer selection.
S. H.
Fantastic staff, really enjoy the local videogame events you allow to be run.
G. K.
Classic, traditional pub, solid range of beers and spirits. Great outdoor smoking area. Really good food. Surprisingly good! I haven't drank in this part of town since the Rotterdam and Pat's Bar closed. I'm definitely not leaving so long until my next visit.
P. C.
A hidden gem! A bit off the beaten track, you aren't just going to stumble across this place, but it is worth making the effort to visit. Fantastic range of beer, food is excellent and perfect for sharing and both staff and clientele are fantastic.
H. C.
A bit out of the way in Sailortown, but, well worth visiting for it's Music Sessions. Great bar staff and Open Mic on Sunday evenings. Also great live Music Gigs in the upper room area on Saturday afternoons and sometimes during the week. Also has a lovely Beer Garden. 👌🎤🎸🎶
S. H.
Classic football themed pub. In the middle of nowhere.
F. T.
Great bar. Reasonably priced. The grateful bread food is so good. It can be cold.
K. Z.
Nice cosy pub not far from ferry terminals. Professional staff. Dog friendly.
s. d.
Atmospheric docks bar with nice selection of beers on tap. Gigs upstairs in nice little venue. A bit of the Old Belfast where individuality was important that has survived and deserves support. If you are tired of the homogenised, corporate run, all very similar offerings that are everywhere else find it!
L. L.
Great spot. Great staff, great food. Nice place to go to if you want a break from the city centre places. Mature crowd, but pleasant. The flour-free chocolate cake is great.
S. M.
Good food and very pleasant staff. Interesting decor at the rear.
J. W.
Great little pub with a great selection of beers! The Saturday blues afternoon has some great acts on and the food is fab!
H. W.
Great bar, staff were so lovely, music was unreal and a gear drink selection.
C. W.
Little gem. Friendly staff and classic Irish pub and hospitality hidden away.
Friendly welcome and service. I ate food without planning to and so glad I did. The pie and rosemary fries were incredible!
I loved that they weren't huge portions either, just perfect.
D. W.
Great friendly bar with good selection of local craft beer and good-value food.
G. o.
It's not a bad bar but it is quite cold, stick some heating on....
C. A.
Great pub, good atmosphere, never too loud but always something happening. Decent beer selection too.

Booze is class
Food is class
Lovely comfy space.. no knobheads
C. G.
It's a good bar/pub. It's a little outside of the footfall of Belfast city centre. But that being said the staff were really attentive and made sure everyone in our party had a drink.
S. H.
Fun Saturday afternoon spent listening to live music and sipping lovely Guinness.
T. B.
Cracking bar, great staff, food and atmosphere 💯👌
E. A. B.

J. P.
Good pub it is a hidden Irish gem this one!
R. W.
It's my favourite music venue to hear both new and established musicians and bands. I don't mind if it's covers or their own material as the atmosphere and camaraderie is par excellent! The crowd grows week on week and we all just look forward to sharing the company and music!
s. e.
Great bar with a great selection of beers.

P. M.

K.
Very nice bar with interesting choices of tap beer! Good bar food too.
R. Q.
Great little pub, it's been there forever. An old workmate of mine was going to the American bar 45 years ago. We made our first visit a couple of weeks ago for a Saturday afternoon music session. It was very special. 3 of Ireland's best in a small intimate venue. It doesn't get better than this, especially with Ronnie Greer, John McCullough and the great Ken Haddock. You've got to try it!
C. 1.
If you like all sorts of music this has to be the place for you with or without friends!! There are bands on and open Mic nights as well as people who just turn up with all sorts of musical instruments and the just play music and sing! Great night out. Fab buzz about the place. Staff terrific and do a mean bowl of stew in the evening!!
b. 1.
Great food and chat. Seek out this part of Belfast if you want real pubs and you'll not be disappointed.
S. B.
Great place for a pint of Guinness.
T. S.
Not the best - food is bang average, and heavily overpriced. Staff is good
P. P.

It's a nice place, its a bit of a walk from the city center.
R. T.
A lovely friendly bar with fabulous food and a great outdoor beer garden right in the heart of the Titanic quarter, just a short walk from the city centre
J. G.
A pub just how a pub should be. Great Guinness, great craic and the grub is pretty damn good too!
l. b.
Brilliant thanks Tony Villiers and the Villians :-)
G. W.
Great wee spot with excellent music. Saturday afternoon blues sessions upstairs are excellent!
j. c.
When I went in it was quiet as it was early but people started arriving after work. Upstairs on a Thursday night traditional musicians arrive for a jamming session. There is also live music at the weekends and a great atmosphere
A. S.
Brilliant night again in here. The music was great too. Never disappoints in here 👍
L. H.
Really chilled and cosy, beer garden is great, staff are really nice. Plus the food and cider was delicious.
K. N. (.
live music (on Fridays), cheap and nice food, nice beers and a cosy beer garden - everything a pub should be!
E. D.
Really cozy bar, great venue for live music. Bar staff are also welcoming and friendly, and the entire place has a real homely vibe about it! Will definitely be back
M. C.
What a fabulous venue! Rarely will you find the winning combination of stupendous and varied music, brilliant atmosphere, warm friendly staff and authenticity that you get in The American Bar.
b. c.
Brilliant bar with wonderful atmosphere. Well worth a visit
A. T.
Drinking round the Docks used to be a right of passage, the Clarendon, Pat's, the Rotterdam.. the American bar was always missed out because their was always a guy in a hi-vis with a hook for a hand glowering out the window. But no more, taken over by the guys from the excellent sunflower, proper old school pub inside, excellent beer and a good starting point for a pub crawl into town.
C. B.
Sister bar to the sun flower. They don't have as good a beer selection but still pretty decent. The spirit selection is good and they have traditional music on the weekends for free.
M. L.
Nice little gem tucked away around sailortown have had many a good Guinness here also has a nice relaxed atmosphere and lots of choice of other beers from around the world. They take card and also contactless payments. Free WiFi also, Irish stew on a Friday and Saturday as well as live music!
D. M.
We went to hear live music which we enjoyed very much. Arriving early we had a nice dish of stew for lunch, and there is a great range of beers and ciders.
G. R.
Great traditional bar with a good range of drinks.
W. M.
Always great craic and brilliant staff
B. G.
It's finding it's feet, but I like it. Closes too early Monday to Wednesday. Spit and sawdust. Usually music. Easy-going clientele and staff. Nice selection of beers.
G. Z.
Nice atmosphere. Drinks prices are cheaper compared to most bars of city centre. Not the best location in Belfast tough.
J. M.
Wonderful pub. Great atmosphere, live music, selection of beers wines and spirits and helpful, friendly staff. Check out the painting beside the bar.

Like stepping back in time. One of belfast's best pubs. Decent beer. Had own beer brewed for them by boundary, which was decent
