Reviews of The Mermaid Inn
Just a lovely local pub! We stopped in for a pint and could not have been more charmed by the bartender, ambiance and other patrons.
Put your hard pants on - the dress code is appreciated - and relax.
I have a soft spot for this place but it's run down interior means I have to mark it down. It's not pretentious or trying to be something else. If you want a pint and watch some sport on TV then this is the place. I've never seen it overly busy, perhaps because it is quite hidden down one of Belfast's alleys. Has quite a nice outside space as well. Worth a visit for curiosity even if it's not your scene, but I do find myself drawn here whenever I'm drinking in the city centre.
Love this bar, the food is fantastic. My favourite dish so far has to be the stew. Hats off to the chef they are brilliant. Perfect place to visit when you want some peace from children, great grub and to watch sports.
Enjoyable drink on the first day back in the bar. Staff were friendly and not as expensive as many bars in City Centre.
A proper bar with all the atmosphere you could want. Good service and very conscious of the current regulations. Well worth a visit.
Table service was outstanding and the staff are incredibly friendly. The food was quick and absolutely delicious and the price simply cannot be beat. We were £21 for two main courses and a few soft drinks. Will definitely be back!
Great service by Maura very friendly lady and very efficient at her job. Decor could do with a little updating as could ladies toilets.
Good food and beer, staff are friendly and welcoming, many of the regulars seem to be there to watch horse racing,. there's a betting shop practically next door. Nice enough place to take the weight off your feet and have a drink.
Lady serving was great liked it not as expensive as most pubs in belfast
Hidden gem of a traditional bar in Belfast. Great pint of Guiness and fantastic service.
Reasonably priced and great food.
Well worth visiting if in town.
Love and respect

Like many city centre Bars tourism has driven prices up Where a pint is now average £4.20 Shame. The Mermaid Still a great Belfast Traditional Bar. An institution.
I love this place my husband and I have been going there for lunch for over 20 years. Cosy friendly staff and lovely food and a beautiful pint of Guinness would highly recommend The Mermaid Inn.
Great bowl of stew and pint of the black stuff.
Food was unreal, hidden gem in Belfast. Highly recommend.
A blokes pub for sure, local boozer too. Friendly service & a nice pint of Guinness to be had. Defo a pub to be, if your into your horse racing....
The bar is set up nicely and not to busy when I was there but the prices were a bit high
Nice atmosphere, prices that you would expect from a city centre bar,but not too expensive.
Its a nice family run bar I first used in 1975. Nothing pretentious, but good beer, decent food and always friendly service.
Nice lunch Irish stew for me £3.90 burger and chips £6.75. Place was a good size.
Great bar, great staff and bloody brilliant craic, I reckon I'll become a regular.😉
Loved the oldie worldie vibe throw to the 70,s and 80,s bar scene loved it, staff were also very friendly will definitely be back

A good old friendly typical Belfast Pub with a selection of international drinks and food.
Little gem of a local. Really really friendly staff. If you want a taste of the real Belfast try the Mermai
If you are not a poser, you will love this throw back pub. Real old school Belfast. A delight
1st time here. Staff excellent , friendly unlike last visit to Belfast and a different business in where I was lambasted for walking into premises to check if they had a bit of what I fancied.😊
Photos not the best didn't want to include the patron's.
This is a well-run reasonably priced pub there is an attached restaurant with quality food
Nice pint of Guinness, good company and atmosphere will be back soon.
Friendly staff, good choice of food and great guinness.

What a wonderful surprise In the centre of Belfast. A locals pub, but welcoming to all!
One of the places you have to go to in Belfast... Great food, great staff... Thanks Dee for a good talk ;-)
Nice wee bar. Staff very friendly and helpful
Food good but price of drinks rather expensive for an Alley bar
Warm and welcoming place with good selection of beers wine and spirits.
Old fashioned pub serving an excellant pint
I found this place a little odd. The staff were friendly but no women and there was horse racing on the TVs. It was more like a betting shop than a pub, which is ideal if that's your thing.
very còvid aware.and friendly

A welcome antidote to "the rusty lanyard" and the likes
A good old fashioned bar. Gin and whiskey in proper glasses as opposed to a goldfish bowl.

All I can say is great service the best we bar in town. Great Staff , and the cracks good with the customers, what more do you need.
Fast, friendly service. The pub is well-lit, clean, and inviting. The food was good, the beer tasted good, so the taps are clean. The patrons we're also friendly. It's worth entering the alley for this! We were one Swede and one American.
