Awesome little spot. Staff are awesome. Really knowledgeable when it comes to drinks, especially Rum. We sat there for hours one Saturday afternoon recently. It was so good I had to go back the next day.
Tourists, if you want an awesome pint of Guinness, this is the spot 😍
L. C.
Guys working there really knew their cocktails, love watching them. The pub was constantly full with people coming in and out, really relaxed and funky atmosphere. Old man pub meets hipster, nice and authentic, good music and friendly staff! Enjoyed our evening here. The ammeretto sours were delicious!
A. S.
Great when you can get a seat, lovely cosy vibe and great selection of drinks. Recommend the Citra IPA
S. J.

T. u. G.
Amazingly staff! Great selection of drinks
Best bar in Belfast
L. F.
Eclectic wee bevvy shoap man - rum a speciality. Played some great 70s rock mudic when we were in.
D. D.
Nice little pub but the first time I've been in since Covid. Shame about the old racist at the bar who litterally started a sentence with "I'm not a racist but..." and then proceeded to explain that there were too many black people on TV. A pub this size everyone can hear you being a tool! That aside, it's a good place.
B. S.
Best wee bar great staff and they have the best DJ . Friday and Saturday nights are the best here great atmosphere .
D. M.
Love this bar its great so relaxing to be in it . Small but excellent. Food is fantastic.

Such a great little pub, the barman was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and his fantastic playlist kept us dancing the day away!
Fab cocktails, very much worth a visit.
T. C.
Visited early afternoon when it was very quiet. Fella behind the bar was very friendly and helpful and even gave us recommendations for other places to visit on our pub crawl.
Will deffo be coming back when busier to try some more of their cocktails.
J. K.

Not the cleanist bar in Belfast, but a draw for the curious tourist.

G. R.
Brilliant pun great atmosphere great cocktails
D. C.
Fantastic wee venue. Friendly staff, great live music. Maybe a little tight on a Saturday.
R. P.
It's a special place in Belfast, the walls are filled with images of Christ or Mary. Usually crowded, but on occasion you can find a seat to chat.
P. A. P.
Good music and decoration. Although they do cocktails, no Martini expresso is available: they don't have a coffee machine.
M. G.
Amazing dark and stormy cocktails.
J. F.
A cool rum bar with great music on the stereo (they also advertised live music). Friendly staff and great atmosphere. We didn't try them, but they were advertising lots of rum based cocktails. Lots of other spirits including Whiskey on sale too. Limited, but nice beer selection
C. R.
If you get a seat in here it's fantastic. Great atmosphere, good drinks, lovely staff.
J. H.
Dog friendly! Quite a small pub serving good beer and cocktails. Burgers are available - they are actually ordered from a take away place around the corner. Really tasty. How nice that there is a city centre place to eat indoors with your dog.
W. M.
Nice cosy bar with great music
c. p.
It seems smaller than expected from the outside, but packed for of character. Nice staff and quick service. Some good beers on tap and cocktails available. I imagine when its busy its not fun, as there's few places to sit or much space to stand around out of the way, but a nice place for a quiet drink when not busy
D. W.
Really nice pub that also does a good range of cocktails.
G. M.
First time back since things have reopened. We sat outside and the service was brilliant - as were the drinks!
P. M.
Love this place..... There needs to be more rum bars about 😉
P. C.
Absolutely fantastic night. Always for years wanted to go and always ended up somewhere else. Great service great bar staff and really good music. 5 stars all day long. Up stairs is the best...
B. I.
This is a great pub in the centre of Belfast and the upstairs room is a must visit place! It is full of religious memorabilia so you get a great photo opportunity here as well lol.
Prices are very reasonable and staff very friendly and quick to serve.
I.
Really nice staff and warm lovely place def be back again 😊
E. M.
Great atmosphere. We were upstairs on a Saturday afternoon and a girl Jackie Rainey was playing some wonderful tunes making it a fabulous afternoon. Back again soon as long as that young lady Jackie is playing. Some great cocktails too😏
D. H.
Great atmosphere and music.
T. L.
Another nice bar in the Cathedral quarter with strong but tasty drinks. The space is pretty tiny and packed upstairs and we had a DJ essentially on top of us. Go for the cocktails which are delicious and not too pricey. The bartenders are good though the bouncers can be a bit pretentious or over zealous.
B. S. F.
Lovely quirky bar loved it!
S. T.
Always love hitting The Spaniard on a night out in Belfast. It's easily packed out but nowhere else has the charm and character of this place. Get in early and get a good seat or spot at the bar and you'll be grand
A. T.
The Spaniard is a fantastic little bar in the cathedral quarter of Belfast. It can be hard to get a seat at times though the atmosphere is worth going anyway. The bar staff are fast and courteous and best of all the place is dog friendly! A must on any trip to Belfast.
D. K.
Before anything will have to mention that rarely do we get a look in due to how busy it is; a very good sign but also bad luck for getting to experience their take on a Dark & Stormy.
If you can squeeze yourself in downstairs or the more spacious upstairs it is a cosy, buzzing bar, with a nice range of drinks, whether they be beers or cocktails.
As mentioned before best visiting it earlier in the evening's proceedings if you want to be sure of getting in and seeing it when it's not rammed, or on a quieter mid week time.
k. h.
The best dark and stormys in the world! Love the venue, it's like no where u have been before but yet has a homely feel. The velvet walls are just the best!
S. S.
Sat outside on a lovely evening, service good and good place to sit and people watch and enjoy a few nice rums 🙂
C. C.
Friendly staff a nice relaxed feeling to the bar the Guinness was very nice. So good if you just want to sit down and unwind after work or a quiet drink with a friend.
D. P.
Cozy spot, friendly staff and good drinks
t.
Very eccentric place but the staff were very friendly and we loved our short visit
E. T.
Class cocktails in this cosy wee bar, I can't believe I've lived in Belfast for 8yrs and never knew it had an upstairs! Apparently there's an amazing dj on Saturdays too
o. b.
Friendly, cosy, dark and stormy
G. M.
Love this small quaint bar. It's like heading round to your mates house. :)
R. J.
My favourite pub in Belfast. Make sure you nip upstairs where the decor is velvet red and comfy seats abound. An hilarious place to bring your mammy and watch her bless herself repeatedly while passing all the holy pictures of their youth.
Splash out and get a cocktail early before the rush starts. Doesn't get busy until around 10pm
L. S.
The Spaniard is always a good time. They make my favourite spainisb cocktail the Caprihna and there is always great live music. The downside is it is impossible to get a seat at the weekend but if you are willing to stand and enjoy the bustle of the place then it's worth it.
C. C.
Decor upstairs is totes cool. I'd hella go back again. £5 cocktails til 10. Nice. Long island ice tea 👌 I could be wrong but I could only find one toilet which is a bit of a pain
W. M.
Great wee bar. Dark and stormy cocktail always gets the night going...
H. O.
Cool wee pub and doggy friendly.. 👍
P. D.
This is the best bar in Belfast in my humble opinion. Great music , cocktails and more holy pictures upstairs than me Ma's house.... Go upstairs and yule see what I mean.
R. M.
Best bar in town, staff are amazing and the atmosphere is outstanding,
B.
Lovely and comfortable nice beer
d. b.
Twas a dark and stormy night, no sorry that was the drink, it was rather mild of late really, bloody weather, but I digress..
The Spaniard is like no other bar I, you, or your pet goat Hubert have ever been to. The ground floor Is small, slightly cramped, ever so ever so atmospheric and the kind of cool that, like an underground student bar that you remember going to in your youth, never really existed except in your head, except the Spaniard is real..!!
Middle floor is like no other place I've ever been to, except maybe that Greek Orthodox church in Zakinthos I stumbled into and out of in quick measure. Allegedly there's a third floor, but I wasn't ready to take that stairway to heaven, especially with all the pictures of sweet, sweet Ted Nealy on the wall, you know the fella from the JC:SS musical with the tanks and stuff.
So back to the dark and stormy.. well, it was the kind of stormy that even the Trumpster would happily admit to paying for and end up putting the free(ish) world out of its misery. Rum and ginger beer and lime and sweet, sweet magicness came together in a highball glass with a little straw and sturdy thing.
Twas lush, bloody lush I tell thee and was made all the better by Captain Jack Sparrow being there with his dog Toto, though that may just have been the after effect of the lively booze.
11/10 Best zombie apocalypse ultra running simulator ever, would fall off a step and break my leg again..!
B. H.
No frills bar, great selection of rum and great staff.
U. O.
Graleat service. Lovely atmosphere.
M. C.
Ordered a burger from Pablo's in the bar, very quick service
M. G. (.
Gotta love the Spaniard, one of Belfasts Iconic bars that has been around forever and will be there long after I am gone. This is a small Cosy establishment in the popular Cathedral Quarter of Belfast, have a large selection of drink (Beers and Shorts) there will be something for everyone. Such is the character of this bar that I have been in a number of time and have bumped into local and national celebs, who are in for a quite pint.
if you making the trip to Belfast then this should be on your list even if its just for one.
J. A.
Lovely little pub playing reggae music and classic rock, and serving good beer and whiskey. Great atmosphere. Warning: it's very small!
J. M.
If you want to have a pint in someone's ecclesiastical nightmare this is the bar for you. Share a pint with a picture of Mary, have a shot with a different picture of Mary...witness the miracle of that one mate who never buys a round, surrounded by pictures of Mary.
j. b.
Love this place if you get it at the right time it's not too bunged. Music is great too and they have special cocktail nights.
A. D.
Really nice little bar friendly people too with a good selection of cocktails and nice good pint of Guinness would recommend
M. W.
Great bar and great music. You can have a conversation with someone who's 6 inches away without shouting. Would recommend.
J. B.
Superb bar with good atmosphere and just as many gins on offer as rums. Authentic decor. Expect it to ve busy if Visiting at the weekend witb almosr one out one in.
R. A.
Knowledgeable staff, good atmosphere, great music
C. M.
Cosy bar in heart of Cathedral Quarter - not much room so if you don't like being show horned in then maybe not place for you - opens out onto the street for more space - quick service and there was live music when we were there - 5th August - the smell from the drains was overpowering so we left.
C. B.
Cool pub in Belfast that's absolutely covered in Catholic religious artifacts. Could be a museum in its own right, drink service was fast and friendly.
j. p.
Quirky little place with absolutely amazing staff, especially Joe. Great service!
G. G.
It can usually be packed on the evenings and weekends, but get yourself on a quiet Sunday afternoon and you'll find yourself being able to have a quiet pint in good company.
M. T.
Great run... Try the long island ice teas...

Good atmosphere, drinks and music. Quite small but that's part of it's character. Worth a visit for a few pints!
N. B.
A very small but cosy bar downstairs with rock 'n' roll memorabilia on walls. Cool place to hang out for an afternoon pint. Gets very busy in early evening.
N. H.
Small bar with loads of character. Rum cocktails are worth checking out, and they have a fine selection of other cocktails.
L. J.
Love the Spaniard. Best place for cocktails in Belfast, very crampt / intimate with lots of Spanish paraphernalia on the walls. A great atmosphere and a Belfast institution
