I went there with the whole family. I wished I didn't. Went for offers, like 2 burgers for a certain price, but what weren't specified is that certain burgers aren't part of the deal. I couldn't care paying but its principle. The food took a long time, people came after us got served before us and this is the second time this happened. Food itself were good but I would rather pay a bit more for accurate information and maybe service.

Always a friendly smile greeting you when entering. The food is always so good never have to wait too long can't beat the delicious puddings too! Great to see more families going there too, everytime we come here it's always a 5 star from us. Our children love coming for their favourite meal and pudding too. Always leave with a smile on their faces

Went in for an all day breakfast with my cousin, the food was brilliant asked how I wanted(even though I am a picky person) staff we friendly. I was offered a wide range of sauces which was thankful and a very friendly atmosphere! Would recommend.

Me and my partner just had an amazing meal here... The staff were really friendly and the food was really fresh and cooked perfectly. Buy 1 get one free burgers and a breakfast Callum was our server today and Martin was the manager both were very attentive to all the customers and made everyone feel welcome and had everything they needed... However I never asked the names of the other staff members that took the orders ect.. but the place was really clean and they all seemed to be doing a fantastic job with all the customers... Tonight was a great success and the food was cooked to perfection so a big 5 stars from me and my partner for a job well done. 😋😋😋

The Baldwin pub in Baldwin's lane Hall Green --A family style pub with set menus -plenty of car parking-- it has a bowling green -- it serves good hot meals on the weekend has live bands and other pub activities - the pub made of brick is in the one half shape of a ship the other half is the magpies in Hall Green Shirley road which if it is put together with the Baldwin it would be the shape of the boat well worth a visit

Just an addition to already left feedback... We Came today during the eat out to help out offer... We were greeted by a friendly and really welcoming new manager "Corinne" however all the front of house staff were very attentive to the customers and should be commended for their hard work. I phoned at 11.30am this morning and booked for tonight. The place has never looked cleaner and all the social distancing measures make sure your as safe as can be.. wait was about 35 mins for food and chef did well considering the amounts being ordered, the food was still as great as ever... With the discount the whole meal was £13.27 including drinks.... So a big well done to all the staff at the Baldwin and thank you for all your hard work. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service in a very difficult time -- Hungry horse and the food and prices are amazing... highly recommend. I see a few people have left negative reviews all I can say is if a problem occurs speak to a manager they will do everything possible to fix it for you. I've been coming here for years and on the very rare occasion there has been to raise an issue is been dealt with promptly and without question... I speak my mind good or bad and never give good reviews unless deserved. I've just eaten here again today... Food was cooked to perfection... The place was spotlessly clean and the food came out very quickly. Although moderately busy the place was running well and fast service. A real credit to the chef , the table and bar staff and to Richard (today's manager) for a lovely meal and great experience. Thank you.

Came in for breakfast this morning and me and my partner ordered the breakfast in bread, it was absolutely amazing! The only downfall is that I couldn't finish it all! We ordered through the app and drinks were brought over and shortly after our food by a lovely red head lady. Not been before for breakfast but will definitely be coming back for to take on the sausage monster next time! So handy being right on the doorstep to us so will be back soon for sure! Large pub, clean environment and friendly staff. Good selection in the menu with considerable offers and promotions. This is a photo of the spinach and chickpea curry from the 2 meals for 7.99! Fantastic value for money. Larger plates are available on all favourites with burger and beverage offer's. Booths are fitted with iPads to keep kids entertained so a great family environment.

Came here on Saturday first the first time since reopening and thought it was ran extremely well during a busy time. Food was tasty, quick and area was clean. I didn't get her name but the ginger girl helped us with the app and was really pleasant and friendly. Another lady who I assume was the manager ( brown hair) was also really nice , took the time to help despite being very busy. This place has improved alot since I went a couple of years ago.

A moderately pleasant experience of a Hungry Horse pub..! On the evening of our visit, the pub was unfortunately short of serving staff, which delayed our drinks starter course and main meal...though when the food did arrive, it was delivered by a rather dour member of staff but fair praise for the chefs as the meal was cooked well and tasty... A place for families too with tv's at some tables to keep the younger guests occupied albeit rather crass and unnecessary..! Probably worth another visit but not in any hurry or rush!

Came in today still feeling a bit nervous with the new back to normality, I first walked in and waited at the host stand but the staff were very friendly and explained I no longer have to wait and the changes such as being able to be served at the bar, this was strange at first but I felt secure because of the screen infront of the till. I ordered 2 mix it ups and they come nice and quickly. I sat outside and made the most of the sun watching the bowlers. As I was leaving a man in a green tshirt was wiping the table someone had just left and even wiped the menus which is good to know precautions are still being used and maintained. Well done the Baldwin, definately will be back and I'll make sure to leave room for dessert this time!!!

Lovely pub with nice friendly staff. Great daily deals on food. Had two mixed grills for £10. Was nice, only the chicken wasn't the best. It was a bit cold and pale. The presentation could be a bit better also, making food look good on a plate doesn't cost anything and makes a lot of difference. Chicken wings were really nice though and on the whole had a very enjoyable and cheap dinner for a family of four. Would recommend and visit again.

Although my steak was not cook how I would have preferred it to be, I would highly recommend this place for a bite to eat! The atmosphere is chilled out with televisions around the pub to show the latest sport and even a pool table. The young lady at the bar was very polite and was happy help with anything.. thanks to your team appreciate the hospitality

Booked a table at the baldwin with my son's & brother in law, to Watch England vs Scotland (football) everything about the night was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! The pub/staff/products& promotions on offer, but most of all the other customers & Atmosphere!!!! The only thing missing was a GOAL!!!!! 🙂 but in life we can't have everything. When ever in back in Birmingham the Baldwin will be Top of my places to Visit!!! My hat off to the Baldwin team thankyou!!!!!!👊👊👊

Always a great little place to go especially with kids. Lovely atmosphere and a great beer garden out the back well equipped for kids with things to keep them busy. Lots of food and drinks offers which are brilliant like wine Wednesdays and the staff are always polite and friendly. Can't fault them. Always love going up for a few drinks and some food.

This was a cosy little place. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, clean and tidy. Had a lovely meal here. Would certainly make a return visit. It was built in the 1930's, and still has the style of the time. Families welcome. Free parking. It also has a large screen for viewing sporting events. Football etc. Also there is a pool table in the bar. Casual dress code.

It's normally a good pub, and they do a phone based quiz on a Thursday which is really good. But we've been there a couple of times when they have shut the kitchen early due to being short staffed or whatever other reason they give. It's one thing to say there's a wait on food, another to stop serving all together. This has been on a Thursday when it gets busy for the quiz. So don't rely on getting good while you're here, they can't handle being busy. I wouldn't normally review, but this is the 4th time this has happened, and we don't even go every week so who knows if it's happening more often than not.

We went mothers day so they were super busy so I take that into consideration. Our table was sticky and hadn't been cleared from the last people. Food was nice but half the things were missing off my burger making it just a burger when I ordered a tex burger so cost £3 more then just a burger. This has happened to us before but mistakes happen. We will go there again but only because it's local and the prices are good. We order desserts and when they brought them out they hadn't cleared our dinner plates yet. The girl put the 2 pudding down and walked away not taking any of the dirty plates away. We moved them to the table next to us in the end. At this point the eating area was half empty. I think they need to do some training with the staff.

Hi, in reply to your speedy response. The food has been fine, not fantastic but to be expected. Albeit staff did not know where table number was ?? Even though we were right next to them, had to call the women over. Music a little loud upon arrival, but I accept trying to create an atmosphere. Bar part intimidating with men loitering (locals). Restaurant very comfortable. Cleanliness to a high standard. Toilets could be attended to, blocked, door lock not meeting catch on end toliet. No toliet paper 2 without. Only 1 working toliet. No hand towels. No waste paper basket. Young Male staff member very welcoming and polite. But then I saw sitting around ??

I was surprised by The Baldwin. I'd not been here for about 30 years, went back and the food is really good, I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Plus, there's a great children's play area. Good quality food for very reasonable prices.

Been meaning to try the hungry horse menu. Was a scorching day and needed food so gave it a shot. So read a few mixed reviews and was a little worried but we got there, staff were great, there was a problem with one of the drinks which was replaced promptly. Food was out within 15mins and it was pretty busy, food was piping hot and decent enough for the money. Couldn't complain so will be back to check for consistency and will re review soon.

Used to be very family friendly with plenty to keep kids entertained, its now aiming for the families with older kids or only adults. Especially now you have an adults ONLY dining area. Seems and odd choice considering you have young families living nearby.

This pub was once a great place to eat n drink, but unfortunately its slowly going down hill. Been coming here since the pub changed to a Hungry Horse. Come here about 3 times a week, and still its the same excuse. No prosecco in fridges, gotta go & get it from the cellar. Sorry can't have that table as its reserved for 15.00 even though its only 13.00 . Unbelievable I only what to ava quick Sunday lunch!!!! Looks like were going to av2 change our local to the Billesley or maybe even the Covered Wagon. No staff, management clueless.

I must say I was not looking forward to this when my wife said we were going but i was pleasantly surprised. Been around a few pubs tonight searching for the perfect bit of clunge, no clunge arrived in here yet but am quite hopeful. Beer is going down a treat and the pub has a good atmosphere plus loads of screens for the football. Some wired dude in here with a perm but he seems cheerful enough kind of like a wanna be roadman/gypsy, the type who would drive a white Mercedes with a caravan on the back. Wish me luck on my quest for clunge. Would definitely give the pub a visit if you are in the area the food is lovely.
