P.Great place either great music and really good atmosphere, bit pricey could have jagerbombs 2 for £5 but I suppose with how good the place is I get it , I will be back for me it's best place in moseley for night out, stay away from bohemians the door staff are clueless and charge everyone £5 entry to then only put it in there back pockets, the white lady on the door who claims to be the boss has a disgusting attitude and think she's rocky , if your after a fantastic night go one trick pony , if you want a disappointing night out go bohemian.
J. W.One of the many M&B Castle brand pubs around, but just like they’re aiming for, you’d be hard pressed to know it’s a chain.
Decent variety of beer and cider on permanent feature, but also a nice rotation of guest beers present.
Decent sized beer garden, with half under cover, half open.
There’s also a pub quiz on a Wednesday...the pub quiz quizmaster may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I thought he was pretty hilarious.
Oh and the food is pretty good as well. The fried chicken in my photo uploaded is a staple of mine, always of m consistent good quality. The menu is a good enough size to provide enough options for a wide range of people, without being too over complicated.

The selection of chicken is brilliant and the service is great. I will say they're a little stingy with the chip portions, bit other than that I can't fault a place that serves fresh, well cooked food.
O.Friendly staff, decent food. Atmosphere is OK, slightly too dark but nothing bad. Somewhat lacking in dark beers. Only stout or porter available was Guinness.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been very adventurous with the menu and ordered the same thing each time - the Katsu burger with tobacco onions. Both of which are great and I would highly recommend.
Only complaint I would have is that even in the day the venue always has a stale alcohol-like smell that you’d usually associated with old bars or music venues. Not the nicest thing when trying to have a meal but only a minor complaint.
A. R.Joined for the pub quiz night, what a delight! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the patrons are nice and friendly. The staff was entertaining. The pub serves a good array of drinks and spirits. The quiz night is just brilliant, especially the tinfoil challenge. Definitely worth visiting, but be aware that the place fills up quite quickly.
I. S.Pretty quiet on a Tuesday evening, mainly people eating early evening and then very few others came in as the evening wore on. As a result we had a very pleasant time. No queuing for drinks and easy to hold a conversation with friends without having to shout. We ordered food. There are promotions on different nights and Tuesday is 2 for 1 on burgers. Food was pretty tasty and there side dishes of veg and chips etc. It's all very American which fits with the neon look of the bar so if you not in to fried chicken, burgers and mac and cheese then probably not for you. Pretty decent choice of ales, lagers and spirits etc. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Their pub quiz is one of the best I've been to, very original. Got a nice outdoor area out the back too. All in all, very good and definitely not a one trick pony.

A. S.We visited tonight with friends. We are always trying to find a new venue for our catchups and stumbled across this bar on Trip Advisor. I'm so glad we did, we arrived early around 5 p.m. and had a lovely greeting from Lani who took our order. The burgers were just amazing and everything was nice and hot. It was a novelty to get our sides in a box! Dale served us our food and he was a very friendly chap. Usually, something will not be right when we go out on our catch up dates but tonight everything was perfect! Well done team! The only tiny thing I would say is ...... bigger plates would have been useful, but we coped. Will definitely be visiting again and can't wait to taste the new menu.
C. U.The food here was mixed. Can't comment on the music (we went on quiz night). My burger was really nice but my friend's hardly had anything in it and she complained her salad tasted of hairspray. They did offer her an alternative but all in all I think she was a bit disappointed. It wasn't cheap and you had to pay for fries seperately which were quite small a portion and priced at around £3. Beer was okay. I wouldn't say this was anything particularly special though for the price.

Burgers are great but not always consistent. Run a fun pub quiz on a wednesday and I've always found the staff to be nice and friendly

i. t.Sloppy Jalopy.....is so nice!! Gaborite burger right now. The Tobacco onion rings make me emotional with how bang on the are.
Plus they have a couple studs behind the bar that add that little bit extra to the visit. Finger licking good looking.

J. M.The best pub in Mosley! If you're looking for a place which caters for all, this place definitely ticks all the boxes. Their food caters for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and everything is delicious. Food comes out in good time, piping hot so, you know it hasn't been sat there, the staff are all lovely and friendly - always willing to help you with anything and nothing seems to be an issue for them ever, you never have to wait long for a drink which shows great management skills - always enough staff on. The place in general is clean, fun and has a great atmosphere. You get DJs on at the weekends who plays a whole variety of tunes and caters for all ages, they have quizzes in the week and now supplies game stations too! Absolutely love this place. Never lets me down and always leave with a big smile on my face. Hats off to the manager and all his staff for making a wonderful atomosphere

The one thing that lets it down is the food. Food portions are small and although they have some great deals with the food, it didnt taste very nice. It did give me a bad stomach afterwards. Will come back again but might give the food a miss next time.

I ate the Stable Friends burger. The beef wasn't juicy, the cheese felt ungenerous and the chicken didn't really taste of anything. I ate here several years ago and remember the food being pretty good but this was a disappointment.
The sweet potato fries were nice and I had a Thornbridge beer from a keg that was up to standard.
If I'd ordered this burger in a Wetherspoons it would have been fine, but I was expected more.
J. S.Cool interior, and a good choice of beers on tap. I've heard the pub quiz is good fun. However, for food it isn't good value for money as the portion sizes are small. I didn't think the food was that tasty either.
M. C.Food is good. staff friendly, although often get orders wrong. They strangely start playing really loud night club music around 7pm on the weekend, even though it clearly isn't a dancing venue. Don't go on a Friday or Saturday night if you want to be able to talk to your friends.

A. W.One of my favourite food joints in Moseley. A really decent selection of BBQ food and a nice range of keg and bottled craft beers. Not the cheapest place in town but the 2-4-1 burger nights offer good eating for a palatable price. Add to this a vibrant (and free) gig night on a Thursday and you can't go far wrong.

A. S.It was our second trip to One Trick Pony, this time for food, which was very good. Hearty American style cuisine served in a bustling, friendly diner. The crowning glory for me, was the pub quiz, hosted by the very talented and extremely witty, Emily. Music rounds and tin foil modelling brought a modern twist to the staple quiz format. Banter and rapport with the staff made the night a memorable one.
