Reviews of Peacock Inn
A. W.
My mushroom Wellington was superb. My daughters meat was a little bit fatty & difficult to chew. Great starter to share. Nice desserts
N. F.
Its OK, food was alright. It feels a bit like the meals were quickly re heated as im sure it is in most places of a similar price tag. Staff were fine and really quick to help us. Lovely place opposite for a walk after food but nothing to do with the peacock. Ive had much better food for less money.

Lovely food and really nice atmosphere.
Took my grandparents who are hard of hearing and the music was just right that we could hear it but it didn't stop them hearing us.
The staff were really good. I ordered a pint of coke and it wasn't quite right (the syrup had just ran out). The staff straight away sorted it out and they got me a fresh glass. Not quibbles.
Will definitely go back.

We've had many wonderful times at Peacock Inn for many many years!
We've always been greeted like old friends as soon as we have walked through the door...
There is a new chef and I can honestly say the food was beautiful, this place is so loved, as are the staff who have come and gone , some have stayed with old place. Generations of families still come regularly because of the charm, comfort and feeling of belonging, being part of the history. The staff are always lovely and you really are looked after here!
Thank you!!!
Camilla and Colin xx

The place is very nice, staff very attentive and the food was nice. The only thing I would say regarding the food is that it could just do with being served a little hotter. The food I had was nice but just warm and would have been perfect had it been just that bit warmer. There is a wide variety of food choices though and I have eaten here numerous times before and had good meals so my loss of one star is only due to the food not being quite as hot as previous visits. I also did not visit at a busy time as it was a weekday and during term time so the food did not lose heat because of the place being too busy.

I went for Burns night and the food was great. My only criticism was that two tables of very loud people behind us decided to push there tables together and move them within a few inches of ourselves to get closer to the fire. This spoiled our romantic dinner for two and given the pandemic didn't make me feel safe. I'd have liked the staff to be considerate of this but instead were only concerned there was a bit if room to get there food to them. Didn't totally ruined the night but something I'd have liked them to address.
S. H.
A nice pub in a really lovely setting. The staff are friendly and the menu is good, but the food we had wasn't hot and service was slow: just two servers wasn't really enough.
I'd give it a go to see if things were better on a different day though?
S. M.
Attended here for a relaxing meal with my husband Great ambience with good music. The menu had a good choice and the food was tasty and freshly cooked. We were well looked after by Joe, our waiter.
H. C.
Good really good but service was non too friendly... We asked a lady a question and she just walked off and ignored us. We were sat at a table under the blower and it was really really cold. WE asked if we could have another table and was told not as we had a small dog. We then asked if they could lite the fire to add a little warmth to the room and again the answer was no...
A. M.
Took my parents for lunch..... they fell in love with the place. Lovely staff, good atmosphere. Good food, great to have a special lunch menu, nice choice, smaller portions, just perfect, thank you❤️
M. E.
The food at the Peacock is amazing and the service is always brilliant. Big shout out to Sarah who helped us with using some club card vouchers today. We'll definitely be back!
S. 1.
We were pleased with the food and service for our Tuesday lunch as we were apprehensive going there- the last time we went (pre covid) it had been “going down”. Lovely to see that it was back to a high standard. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that the coffee machine was broken- I would have thought they could have got instant coffee- would have been good enough for our table of four!
R. P.
The meal was great but not the service. 30 minutes before we got to order then a long wait for the main Sunday roast and 40 minutes before the pudding arrived. They need more staff.
D. R.
Had a lovely lunch today at The Peacock . Sarah was a very attentive and friendly server and made us feel very welcome . We were delighted with the food especially the burgers which in my sons word were the best pub burgers he has had . Talked about it all the way home it left such a positive impression on us . Definitely will be visiting again
R. B.
Superb meal and first class service. Could not ask more. A real country pub with good beer and menu.
M. S.
It’s a lovely pub with great people working there! Been there quite few times and happy with each visit.
Food is great, tried few of of the menu items, hunters chicken and burgers are my favourite! Starters are yummy too!
I enjoyed the garden too, spring / summer evening and sitting there to enjoy the nature is great!
Will be visiting often :)
K. U.
We weren't sure whether we could take dogs in here but he was allowed in the bar area. We ordered some bread and oil that came as lightly toasted bread with a dip of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, which was lovely. I had to leave but 2 of our party stayed on and had a lovely meal of scampi, chips and peas. Speedy service too.
L.
have eaten here many times before .
Today however we waited an hour for food to arrive (wasn't busy and told there was a 40 minute wait). Noticed other tables who had arrived after us were being served before. When I questioned this I was told that it was starters! If I have ordered my meal I expect to have it before others who have arrived much later (30 mins) after me, irrelevant of what is ordered. When the meal finally arrived the chips were still hard.
Really enjoy coming to this pub and have done for many years but I won’t be going back for a while and will be checking other reviews before I return.
K. M.
Been more than a few times and can't fault the food or the prices and it's a very clean establishment.
Not sure what happened on the evening of the 19th of March but we still eating starters and the mains came out.
Service has always been good too, but again on the evening of the 19th our waitress was just a tad over familiar.
Will be back.
K. Y.
For a Brewers Fayre this place was amazing- for a beautiful, ancient, characterfull beautifully located country pub, it did not disappoint at all.
I wouldn't call it a drinkers pub... But there was on offer lager, hoppy ale and bitter, plenty gins and spirits, cocktails...
The wine list was short and excellent. Nice not to be overwhelmed with too much choice tbh.
The roasts... Were GORGEOUS and generous!
C. S.
Lovely food and lovely service by waitress Evie
K. G.
Lovely pub, the staff are friendly. We were served by Lauren who was great.
Food is good and there’s a nice atmosphere.
L. L.
This is my second time visiting The Peacock and they've always been lovely. Good food, nice staff. They've done well and I will always visit here when I come to Birmingham
A. G.
Very polite and pleasant waitress Lauren, however food was very basic, gammon looked very basic not a lot of taste to it, creamy garlic mushroom sour dough crumpet, it was very mushy as if crumpet wasn’t cooked enough. Disappointed with food.
F. T.
Love this place. Been a while since I last visited due to Covid but just as good as I remember. Food lovely.
S. S.
Thank you Shania and Danni for a great lunch! The food was exceptional and the service even better. The team are cooler than the avengers
R.
Mango chicken special starter was really nice. Lasagne was also good. Big beer garden. My only complaint is the chips were a little bit cold. Feels a bit harsh knocking a star off for just that though when the rest of the food was so good.
S. D.
Nice location and lovely food. Great staff. Dog friendly. Well worth a visit.
P. C.
Always good food and service. Lauren was very friendly and helpful - had a great lunch 😊
V. V.
First visit but not the last...great position with terraces overlooking the river...good beer...will try the food next time🤞...parking quite easy..🙂👍
R. B.
Lovely specials menu, you can always get a good meal at chef & brewers
T. F.
Excellent waitress service. Good variety on menu. Quality food. Will return.
A. F.
Had a great meal and they have a separate bar if you have a dog with you
J. K.
Nice old pub serving decent beer and the food again was decent. The Sunday roasts were a tad disappointing, not much meat for the price and only 3 potatoes? Staff were lovely though, and the girl that served us was a credit. (Didn't get your name sorry, but you had the machine wrapped around you!)
K. A.
We have just had THE best Sunday lunch out ever. Slow cooked Rib of Beef on the bone was to die for, sticky toffee pudding amazing and Sophie, who looked after us, was delightful. Thank you SO much, we shall most definitely be back 🤗😋
W. W.
Lovely Christmas meal which was hot and our party of 10 all had our meals served within a minute but we were cold. Apparently the heating wasn't working but around 10.30pm it suddenly got warm. Very good evening.
K. E.
Bit of a strange one. Normally enjoy the food and service but today the staff looked very distracted with something happening in the kitchen, the food arrived at different times and unfortunately the chicken and the steak I ate had a burnt taste tho seemed cooked properly! Does seem like the pub has had a change of ownership. Hope it improves
A. P.
A warm welcome and excellent service. Very relaxed atmosphere, virtually everyone was dining. Food was delicious. The only negative comment would be too much choice, I was presented two set menus and a standard menu. I will be definitely be going back.
A. W.
Great little country pub very friendly staff and excellent food one of the best Sunday roasts out there
E. B.
Couldn't have cooked this any better, kudos to the kitchen. Atmosphere is cost with real fires, great drinks and child friendly options too. Can get a little busy but booking ahead is easy on their website.
A. F.
Lovely lunch, good beer and wine. Staff very friendly and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back.
K. L.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food and lovely service from Sarah who had a wonderful sense of humour. Great night!!
L. N.
Had a quick haddock meal after a had day working. Was saved by a lovely smiley mixed race girl who was lovely, engaged respectfully with all the customers, she made mist people to feel relaxed and at 🏡. Apart from this lady, the other staff members were equally lovely .
M. L.
Lovely Mother's Day menu. Pub has lots of cosy spaces staff are v good
M. W.
We had such a lovely time here today, food was great. Starters were fantastic, lamb main was amazing but Chicken burger wasn’t the best. The best service ever considering they were so short staffed. Would have been 5 stars if a manager had been around to help. I felt sorry as all the staff were all working so hard in this heat & still managed to be very friendly & polite, nothing was too much trouble.
P. T.
The food was excellent. We were a large party split across multiple tables. Some of the orders got mixed up but Mia, the waitress was amazing. She was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. She made us all feel welcome. The Manager stepped in and gave us 25% off the bill for the mix ups. We had a lovely night celebrating my daughters birthday. Definitely will go back.
P. P.
Warm cosy pub restaurant great varied menu good food well presented friendly professional staff
p. b.
Great food credit to the chefs presented well we had the handmade beef burgers there was half a cow on my bun also a had the sharing platter which was greatest, staff was great and friendly. some people may find it slightly expensive compared to other chains but I'd rather pay extra for good fresh hand food than other places that just take it out the packet from the frezzer and deep fat fry it. lovely environment for a quiet meal.
m. b.
Nice little novelty place to add to your explored pub munch but the service was too slow
L. R.
Xmas meal and drinks with friends, food excellent, good choice. Car parking no issues, close to pub. Would recommend, look forward to my next visit.
L. W.
Amazing lamb shoulder, quick friendly professional service. The desserts were lovely, well worth the trip.
G. R.
Evie was a lovely waitress she was great and the service was 5 starts along with the food
M. S.
I enjoyed a relaxed lunch in comfortable surroundings. Friendly staff, good tasty menu with a good mix of protein.
A. S.
Good service for a busy christmas eve, enjoyed the set christmas menu. Was only one option for vegetarians, my aunt wasn't impressed but I liked it.
I. W.
Foods ok very busy nice location friendly staff
S. S.
Excellent. Really enjoyed our visit. Great food and reasonably priced. The pub itself is warm and welcoming. We will be visiting again.
C. M.
We had a lovely 3 course meal at the Peacock Inn. All 4 of us really enjoyed it and the staff were lovely. We could have our dog with us as we ate in the bar which was perfect for us. Definitely recommend.
W. G.
We went for a treat meal here, chain pub so fare was set menu.
Starter of mussels was great and very much enjoyed. Wife's order of calimari was similarly fine.
However there was a couple of issues with the main ordered from the specials board. The veg, chiefly three asparagus with the meal was very over cooked and almost sloppy, as well as grey.
We let the waitress know of though we said we said it was ok and that no further action was required though she immediately offered to take it back, I had eaten most of my steak and it didn't seem fair to them.
The chips were also garlic and rosemary however the amount of garlic oil was excessive and they were overpoweringly garlicky, though we didn't complain about this because we knew they were garlic fries when we ordered them. The steak was a 30 day aged rib eye but it wasn't all that tender however was cooked well.
Honest feedback was just for the kitchen's benefit for next time. When we asked for the bill she completely deducted the mains from the meal which was great customer service and highly appreciated as it had made a negative impact on our enjoyment despite us not requesting any discount.
We agreed we would go back but maybe order from the standard menu, not specials in future.
J. W.
Just Fantastic lovely food very helpful will always visit this lovely Country Place again it's great and so close
M.
Very busy but staff are lovely menu could do with a bit more choice
S. H.
This is a friendly country pub, with a lovely lunch menu, the staff looked after our specific requirements with ease.
The pub itself is probably easily over 100 years old with low wooden beams and lots of nook areas.
There's an all day menu and a lunch menu (from noon to 4pm weekdays) with plenty of choice.
Since we went with Covid rules in place I didn't get to have a proper look around but I probably will do in the future. It was worth booking ahead as it seemed fairly busy.
Will return soon.
J. M.
Absolutely lovely staff, great experience, 100% coming back again.
S. L.
Really friendly staff and quick service.
Food always lovely
R. H.
Good food. Decent price food and drink. Staff are very nice. Two car parks so plenty of space even when busy. Probably could do with updating some of the pictures on here. It’s a lot nicer than it seems on some of the pictures.
C. E.
Nice light lunch , good service .
G. S.
Excellent food and service.
Easy access of disabled people.
J. M.
I have visited here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The food is lovely and there is a large selection of dishes to choose from. Staff are very friendly and are very knowledgeable regarding gluten free foods
G. D.
Really lovely lunch, friendly and welcoming staff too
A. S.
I had a very nice steak and ale pie.
D. E.
Ordered take away from the peacock on Sunday. Mushroom Stilton Wellington and slow cooked beef, both meals were absolutely stunning. Meal was ready for collection on time and service was great 👍👌
K. H.
Good food, good value, a couple of ordering mistakes but otherwise all good.
C. H.
A wonderful experience, lovely atmosphere, Good Food, pleasant staff.
N. q.
Update from 25/08/21 - little disappointed with the fish offering today. One very strange rubbery fish and both of us feeling a bit unwell an hour later. Chicken pie was good however.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, dog friendly (although be good if the dog friendly bar was a bit bigger!), huge enclosed garden, great location.
H.
Lovely food, helpful and friendly staff and lovely pub. Would recommend to anyone for a drink or food in the area 😊
K. M.
Lovely pub though not the cheapest.
S. M.
Made to feel very welcome, will definitely be back.
D. V.
Pleasant lunch well cooked, well priced. Friendly staff.
T. C.
Excellent service, excellent food served in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
r. g.
Lovely cosy place, friendly staff, dog friendly.
L. C.
Food is absolutely delicious! Top quality! 1st half we had great service waitress very attentive but then 2nd half of our meal we seemed to be forgotten about, drinks took ages to come and had to keep finding random staff to chase to order puddings and more drinks. Bit disappointing when bill is over £200. But still love the food!
R. W.
Not been to the Peacock for a couple of years as generally had gone down hill a little. However having read a few recent good reviews decided to give it a go.
Have to say they are back to there best. Food all round was excellent, the lamb shoulder was one of the best I've ever had, meat just fell off the bone. All round good service & felt comfortable with the Covid safety precautions in place.
Will certainly back soon.
E. M.
Good food. Lovely pub
J. S.
Feel absolutely safe! Foods delicious! Service was excelent going above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, drinks and food served promptly by our server kelvin. We will be back soon!
B. D.
Had a lovely meal here. Served a choice of excellent real ales, which were not expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the food. I felt the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Obviously attracted frequently visiting locals, more set up as a restaurant than a call in pub.
H. R.
Nice pub, beautiful location but customer service was very slow and our foods arrived after 2 hours. Burger was yum though. I will visit again and hopefully service will be improved.
S. M.
The food was amazing! I had fish and chips and the batter was nice and crispy and the fish was flaky. Would definitely recommend and will definitely come back again 👏🏼
S. R.
Our first visit here for many years and we were very impressed. We were greeted by pleasant & friendly staff who directed us to our table. We enjoyed a fantastic meal with friends, chosen from an extensive menu, the food was well presented with good portion sizes at very reasonable prices. Can't wait for our next visit.
G. B.
Friendly staff and excellent vegan menu for some of our more selective friends.
All very reasonably priced and easy to get a table.
When we first arrived the guy on front of house seemed a little distracted and we waited slightly longer to be seated than I would normally prefer, however once seated table staff more than made up for this.
C. B.
Food good, surprised they had a small selection of spirits 🤔
P. U.
Dog friendly, very friendly staff
g.
So glad this has reopened. We were served and generally looked after by a lovely young lad called Sam. The staff are always friendly and he went above and beyond. We went with our 2 under-3's and had no issues
K. S.
Fantastic service from the moment we went in. The quality and portion size of the food was perfect. All served with a smile.
E. C.
Fabulous, friendly pub. Between us we had fish & chips, mac & cheese and gammon followed by crumble and custard. Meals portions were generous and the food was hot and delicious. We've booked up for Christmas. Lovely staff and lovely surroundings. Definitely recommend booking as it was very busy.
P. D.
Called in on way home from Cadbury's World, 4 adults and 3 kids. Excellent service, food and value. Highly recommend.
R. A.
Went there today as a party of three. I love this place. The food was amazing and the waitress that looked after us was fantastic, she asked us to move due to having been at the table for over two hours, which was absolutely fine so other diners could have the table, but she couldn't have been more apologic about it, and she gave us a lovely cosy seat in the bar instead.
D. C.
Bit late on the review but me and the family came in saturday had a wonderful time great food and great service especially from our waitress she asked her to give her a review and her name was kiki and she did a fabulous job kept us entertained and smiling through out her service
M. P.
Came here the Sunday before Christmas and hadn't pre-booked a table. They accommodated as straight away on the provision that we vacated the table at a certain which wasn't a problem for us.
We all (3 of us) had a roast dinner of some description and it came piping hot and our plates were left clean and empty at the end. The meal was tasty and had good portions on the plate. We all had a dessert and that was devoured by us all as well.
A lovely meal at a lovely place. We choose this place as it was a local eatery which was used very often by the in law a few years back. Excellent place and staff were very polite and accommodating, would recommend!
D. C.
A lovely welcoming pub. The atmosphere was very relaxing, just perfect for enjoying your meal. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, and came to our table lovely and hot. Most of us had the fish and chips..... OMG!!! the fish was the best we have tasted, it was so moist, and the batter was so light and crispy. We are looking forward to going back and working our way through the menu. The only thing they forgot, was to bring out our order of bread and butter....... but, we were enjoying our food so much we had forgotten that we had ordered it 😂.
p. z.
Great meal enjoyed, they were well safe. Service was excellent, if weather better the outside space would have been great.
J. P.
First time here for quite awhile. Overall a disappointing experience. Greeted quickly, shown to our table and had covid precautions explained to us. Then waited, and waited and waited. Despite staff walking past frequently to get to the bar no-one came to take our order for drinks or food. Eventually, after about 30 mins we got someone's attention.
Drinks and then shared starter arrived. This was good. Then another long wait, during which no-one cleared the table until 3 mains arrived, another 10 mins before the final one got to the table. Burgers and pie good, Cajun salmon was basically salmon salad, no idea why it was described as Cajun 🤔
Once we'd finished, we again sat for sometime hoping we would be served but no. We got the attention of a waiter who took our dessert order but again left the empty mains plates behind. Dessert arrived quickly but there was no room on the table as still covered in dirty plates, clearly finished with as we'd eaten everything.
Overall, food was good, cleanliness was good but service was appalling.
R. S.
The Peacock is a nice dog friendly and trying their best to accommodate customers in this difficult time it's only spoiled by the arrogant assistant manager who has no people skills what so ever and should never be the "Welcoming Face" at front of house as he has a real attitude problem and has already lost the Pub 2 valuable regular customers to my knowledge, I've been drinking there on and off for 47 years much longer than that "Petty Little Hitler" has been alive, he needs to go on a course for Customer Serve or get Sacked !!!
Apart from him it's a great place for a drink or a meal !!!
P. P.
Really like it here. Been a few times now for drinks and for food. Has a nice atmosphere and the food has been consistently good and seems good value for the money. Portion sizes have been just right. Staff have always been friendly and do a great job.
W. S. J.
Would have loved to give it 5*, but I didn't like where we were put to sit. Right next to the kitchen door and where we were was in a narrow part of the restaurant, so every time someone walked by I had to scoot myself out of the way, I had to move in the end so that I was out of the way. The food came very fast and for the most part was very tasty. Apart from the ribs, which was mostly pure fat! To their very big credit when they were made aware of it, it was taken away and the price of the meal was refunded without any questions! For that I thank them. We went through to the bar and had a couple of drinks to end a good night.
A. B.
Great food (Well the Waygu burger and the seafood grill we ordered was nice). Great service (Beth our waitress, I would describe as sweet as a cupcake). Picturesque location. Rustic style, wooden interior. Lots of ales and gins to try out. Lovely. Only slight was the lack of nibbles to order before enjoying our meal. (Bread and oil but no olives?) Walked away from the pub with a happy warm glow. I would recommend it.
R.
Non booked visit today for a bit of Sunday lunch, no tables available and they went out of their way to accommodate us for 2 adults and 2 children. Absolutely lovely lunch, but roasts cooked lovely, lovely steamed veg, kids meals were great. The staff were very friendly and thoroughly attentive/kind. Brilliant place 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
S. S.
Thank you Nikki, new manager and staff for squeezing us in after a mix up on our part on-line.
Lovely dinner and puddings, all happy 😊 we know you were short staffed but we would never know, staff just got on with smiles.
Thanks all.
G. N.
Had a meal there Saturday 31st October six of us,had a great time, atmosphere great and food excellent.
Service by Nicola and Kelvin was spot on,a big thank you to them and all the staff.
Definately recommend a visit.
P. H.
It's a step above a spoons on price but the food is no better. Place is lovely, staff go above and beyond to be attentive at this place and that's the best part but the food just lets this place down. I know being a chain they're limited on what they can do but when your mashed potato develops a skin, all the veg are mushy and overcooked, seriously overcooked lasagnes with burned cheese and black tops, it's just not good food. Could be a one-off bad night we went on but I don't think I'll be back for food at this place.
D.
Nice cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is great too and the garden is the best place to be on a summer's day
R. M.
Nice country pub. Good for a change with a local buzz. Good quality food, lovely Sunday lunch with good portions
d. b.
Delightful country pub, chef and brewer chain. Tastefully decorated, comfortable and welcoming.
Good access and plenty of car parking available even on busy days. Good range of craft beers and good range of menu covering lunchtime snacks to a la carte full menu and all served by pleasant staff who are obviously proud of their work.
A. O.
Had a lovely time felt very safe. Excellent social distancing in place. Manager and Staff provided class A service. We attended at lunch time today and there was a few in there. Well done. Lovely and clean.
P. S.
First visit, lovely food, good service and value for money. We pre-booked (Sun 23rd at 17:15) and asked for a quiet table as one of our daughters is autistic - the table we were given was perfect, out of the way and no people passing close to the table. Our food arrived quickly, but our daughter didn't like the gravy which was covering all the food. We asked for another and was prepared to pay the extra. It was no problem for the staff who sorted a new plate of food for her really quickly, with everything how she wanted it and didn't charge us extra. We could not have left any happier. Will be back again for sure!
J. E.
Great pub and restaurant
The food is first class with competitive prices a friendly staff. Highly recommended.
S. B.
Amazing food, excellent service and great value for money will definitely visit again and would recommend without hesitation
s. a.
Excellent service... great staff.. 10 out of 10 food. Highly recommended in the summer also, and for those winter months a warm log fire in the bar area and they put extra heaters around the dining area. Make sure you pre book save disappointment as it can be fully booked.
R. S.
Lunch and and afternoon of drinks with former works colleagues. Lovely atmosphere, with wonderful triple fried chips and great beer. Not just this but very friendly welcoming staff. I have no hesitation in recommending The Peacock Inn as a great place to wile away an afternoon. 5 stars from me.
D. P.
Same as last time, 1 of the staff trying hard, the rest ambling around. Left waiting for 5 minutes at the seating sign with no one taking any notice, waiter walked past us twice without acknowledging or passing information to anyone. Food was served on cold plates, so it was also cold within a few minutes. Had to ask for drinks, no one observing when glasses were empty.
Lights not working in the ladies toilet and no sign to tell anyone to use the disabled one.

Gem of a place! Fantastic food, great staff. Good ale too! Never had to complain about anything. I only go a few times a year for a lunchtime meal with friends but we wouldn't go anywhere else. Can't say what it's like in the evenings. Love the decor & atmosphere too.
J. S.
Great food and very nice staff. Well timed service
J. C.
My fiance and I went for our first experience of a Christmas Day meal away from home. We was slightly worried about doing this. We needn't gave worried. Absolutely perfect! We couldn't have felt more at home. The ambience was festive and cosy, the staff friendly and attentive. The good was fresh, homemade, hot, well presented, and above all else tasted wonderful. We plan to go again next year. Absolutely well worth it. Perfect
L. V.
Visited today for our Christmas meal, firstly it was cold as there was a draft from somewhere. The food was ok but the Christmas menu was dry and seemed as if it had been sat around. Two of us had chips and they were overcooked and really hard and one of the group broke her tooth. The same for the chewy Christmas Pud. Such a shame as have always been pleased before but don't think we will be back sorry
V. B.
Part of Chef and Brewer chain, reliably good food at a reasonable price. All of our party of eight enjoyed their meal. Finding my favourite bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord was a nice surprise, just a pity that I was a designated driver. Staff friendly and helpful, no problems at all.
E. N.
Good food and very polite staff 😂
P. M. G.
We really enjoyed our meal here! Four of us had the fish & chips. Lightly battered & crispy...Mmm-mmm! Dessert was yummy too. We had eaten here a few times before and it's been good every time. I'm sure we'll be back!
M. P.
This place is a little gem. Fantastic service, great food and a lovely atmosphere to boot. It would be nice to have a few more beers on tap but what you get is certainly very good.
R. P.
We had a lovely visit, all measures in place and the food was really good!
We were a party of 7 we had to be spilt on to 2 tables 4 &3 which was a shame (but understandable)
We enjoyed our visit.
A. O.
Great beer garden outside, it's within walking distance for us so we like a pint outside in the sunshine. They have a small front bar which is cosy with a fire going in the winter. I believe they have a quiz on a Tuesday night but we haven't managed to make it yet. At the rear of the pub they have a large restaurant they do a pretty decent Sunday roast and deals on in the week if you fine early.
K. M.
Turned up at 1645 on a Sunday. Got a table ok and received fast service. Steak and ale pie was lovely and my wife enjoyed her Sunday Roast. Efficient staff. Would be 5 stars but felt it a little on the expensive side.
P. C.
Lovely place for a drink to hide from the cold walks. Dog friendly and nice selection of food and drink.
J. N.
Staff were lovely. Really attentive. Food ok. Slightly exaggerated on the quality of ingredients and value for money (prawns in my risotto were pathetic. But everything else lovely. Fish pie lovely but veggies not very good. Had a voucher for dessert. My Eton mess was rubbish. If I had paid for it I would give complained. Would not rush back.
L. H.
Food here is always cooked to perfection. Nice selection of beverages with a nice outdoor area for eating as well.
A. B.
We had a very well organised and social distanced meal at the Peacock
Food was lovely with plenty to choose from. Was difficult to make a choice 🤔
Staff were friendly and had really good service.
Plan to visit again soon
L. M.
Our mains looked good on the plate but the turkey tasted processed, the giant Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and the vegetables were bland. The pie was also stodgy and bland. Used to be worth the money a few years ago. What happend? Dissapointing. The desserts were nice enough I suppose. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming and the only reason why I'm awarding an extra star. I probably should have complained about the food but I'm British and we tend to just soldier though these sort of things.
T. G.
Had a meal here with my mum the food was lovely, with a Great service with such a lovely atmosphere sitting by the log fire. a proper country pub gem outside the south of Birmingham will differently be visiting here again soon!
K. D.
Absolutely stunning pub, had a great time, staff very friendly and welcoming, would deffinetly recommend
E. G.
Sunday roast is like a home roast! Lovely And staff are really friendly.
C. B.
Had a great experience here with several friends and their kids. The staff where very welcoming, helpful and pleasant. We went for the roast dinner which was cooked lovely no frozen or overcooked vegetables. I would recommend coming here regardless of the occasion.
S. W.
Fairly busy when we arrived but seated at our pre booked table promptly. Varied menu with specials as well but part of a chain so not pub specific. Ordered 4 mains - chicken pie, special fish and chips, mixed grill and hake, prawn and chorizo. Took a while to come but we were chatting so all good. Meals were ok but no one raved about their choice. £59 ish just the meals so not bad. Gin deal also good buy 2 get 1 free £12 average
G. M.
Had table booked for 18.30 for my birthday had to wait almost a hour for starters which arrived stone cold.Gave up on main courses and got a takeaway KFC.Managet did not charge for starter or drinks but overall a shambolic experience
L. P.
Just dropped in for a drink. The car park is not obvious when driving up, but it's large and the pub was very nice.
It's a vintage Inn, so if you've been to one before you'll know the food is pretty good, if a little pricey.
c. b.
Great beer in a lovely pub
C. P.
This is a pleasant country pub with ample seating outside on a sunny day. The food is well prepared and good value. The service is pretty good although a little more attention to serving customers rather then sending them off to get their own salt, vinegar, sauces would go a long way. I saw this rediculously poor evel of service offered to a disabled customer with her carer! This pub is not a cheap and cheerful Weatherspoons so should offer customers the good level of service that the prices they charge demands!
J. M.
Cutlery was not clean. There were few staff and the order took time. I think the idea is correct for seating people however there do need an increase in staff to deliver this and reduse the wait to be seated. Due to the condition of cutlery I did not participate in dining.
J. P.
Nice countryside pub. Good range of drinks and nice decor. Thinks it's recently been refurbished. The low ceilings make me feel tall which is always a plus.
He gardens in the summer are great.
J. A.
Delicious food, very friendly and accommodating staff. Couldn't have asked for better 😊
L. A.
Very pleasant setting. Friendly staff. Quick and efficient service. Food was lovely. Reasonably priced. All round pleasurable lunch 😊Hope to visit there again soon wen I visit Birmingham from wales👍EXCELLENT WUD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟PLUS.........
A. R.
Excellent pub great food excellent service good ambience would recommend
P. H.
As always great food and a lovely place to meet people. The steak and red wine pie is excellent as is the hunters chicken. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and patient. Highly recommended, 5 stars.
m. t.
Great staff
Only issue ordered chicken and leek pie but got chicken and mushroom
Member of staff said its the same
It is not but it was ok
P. C.
Been some time we were at the Peacock pub wyhall. Found food to be good quality but pricey for size of portions.
P. H.
Went for mid week meal Wednesday had deal on pies 8 pounds and two pints of real ale for 6 pounds. Nice food, nice pub. Very good staff
P. S.
Food was very nice. It was my grandaughters birthday & the staff surprised her with a lovely pudding cake and sang happy birthday to her.Even other customers joined in, the atmosphere was amazing.
J. J.
Excellent service with friendly helpful staff. A big shout out to Paige as she & her team decorated our table ready for my husband's birthday meal. Food was delicious & the location of the pub is in a lovely area.
D. A.
Food reasonable and good price £12.99 for two courses but lacked any vegetables. The room we ate in was very cold. There was a wood fire laid but not lit despite thick snow outside. Service was prompt and friendly.
B. E.
Cosy, comfortable and lovely atmosphere.
Had the vegetarian 'fish' and chips. Not gonna lie, wasn't a fan of the chips, edible but bit oven chipish and bland. Would love to see some real pub style fresh chips - like the triple cooked dealings you get?
Would recommend though, my mum's dinner gave me real food envy, the vegetarian garden bowl/salad thing.
S. M.
Popped in for lunch today, with girlfriend. Louise had the fish and chips, I had the steak sandwich, and side of chips, both meals were great, my steak was cooked to perfection, thanks to all the staff, and the chef.
j. w.
Can't leave a bad work about this lovely little pub! Well priced lovely food and great warm enviroment. Staff are welcoming and polite and always willing to help.
I will say its well worth booking in advanced as it can get busy!
G. M.
Great place. Tend to drop in when passing and have a drink in the garden. Cyclist, child and dog friendly.
E. L.
I have been to this place a few times, and the food has improved. The staff are professional. The bar is amazing. You certainly need to book your table in advance.
J. D.
Really great food and atmosphere, had the special deep fried brie to start, almost got a whole cheese which was good as I didn't want it to end. The chef's choice hunters chicken was also a winner, chicken, gammon and bacon, great combination.
G. G.
Quiet place. Good food. Pleasant staff. Social distance OK. Plenty of parking space. Very nice garden area. Worth a look!
J. A.
First time at The Peacock.
Didnt have a table booked the Manager asked if we could wait 15 mins within 5 minutes was given a table.
Friendly staff and regular customers made us feel welcome.
Food was amazing and decent prices.
This restaurant will definitely be my regular place to eat from now on and its 5 minutes drive from my home!
🍕☕🍷🤗
J. B.
Lovely restaurant, great food and lovely staff
s. j.
Went to this lovely pub for drinks a couple of weeks ago and returned last week to eat. Staff were attentive and friendly, food was good. Seems things have improved over the past year. Will definitely be going back again very soon. A**
K. P.
Nice cosy place with open fire. Friendly staff. Food is decent. We had the rump steak, hunters chicken, and sticky toffee pudding.
J. A.
Meal well presented and cooked. Staffing levels very low. The 2 people that were on were rushed off their feet. We praised them for their hard work. More help from management.
P. S.
Good selection of food. Staff attentive and friendly
R. W.
Nice food worth a visit. Will be back for more.
W. F.
Nice pub food, even when served in the bar, I didn't feel like an outcast as can often happen when you arrive without a table reservation. Lovely staff. Recommended.
T. W.
Was highly recommended and seemed really nice but they didn't have any tables or room at the bar when we arrived and they couldn't seat us for 2 hours.. had to go somewhere else. Staff was not very friendly and we didn't go back for fear of the same situation.
J. C.
Nice pub, outside seating, car park and dog friendly. Only 2 snags food is expensive with small portions and the dogs are allowed to run around free with the owners inside. 1 dog did his business where children play.
J. W.
Beautiful place. Not impressed with the roast dinner though. Too expensive. Not enough food. The most fresh and enjoyable food on the plate were the carrots and broccoli. Nice staff though.
J. F.
Good sunday lunch carvery selection. Pleasent staff although you could see they were being pressured to combine table service for your drinks whilst trying to get the food out as well. But no rush to get us out to free the table
L. H.
Lovely little gastro pub. Good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Make sure you book a table if you want to eat.
A. H.
Really friendly, helpful staff. Good choice of food. Will definitely be back.
M. B.
My family and I had a great meal here. I would definitely recommend it. Warm and cosy atmosphere. 5 stars because of good food and customer care.
C. T.
Had an excellent meal with friendly staff to support you with all the covid 19 measures in place. Brilliant afternoon, food top notch from a full menu, spoilt for choice.
C. B.
Well deserved burger was required. The Peacock provided. Thoroughly enjoyed
E. H.
The food here is delicious! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The manager, Elliot, goes that extra mile to make his customers feel welcome. Always a pleasure to dine here.
A. W.
Booked at short notice advised were very busy, took a while to be attended to. Finally got to table and sat down ,no pre dinner drinks offered had to go to bar and arrange myself. Then we was approached for order by our waitress which we placed , order was taken smoothly. My starter was taken to another diner by a different member of wait staff, seem to wait longer than normal for mains but was advised it was coming.overall meal was well presented and extremly delicious impressed by this as all parties enjoyed there meals worth the wait! Our waitress lisa was extremly efficient and give excellent service throughout nothing was to much trouble. Apart from the delay in being seated and the wait for mains a very enjoyable night in beautiful surroundings.
D. L.
Great service and food
A. J.
Excellent service and food - the staff coped admirably with a very busy Sunday and were both attentive and cheerful despite being a little understaffed. Food took a little while to arrive (Sunday lunchtime, I'd expect that anywhere) but my mixed grill was properly cooked (not re heated, like some places) and good quality.
C. W.
Wonderful setting, with excellent staff. The Roast on a Sunday is delicious.. would definitely recommend the beer garden for a sunny afternoon. Will be returning!
S. D.
Nice outside area to sit with our dogs. Food is good & reasonably priced.
M. D.
Lovely food and the staff were so polite and helpful, will come again soon
D. L.
Lovely little pub away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.... Great service very friendly and attentive staff.... Lovely little garden to sit in on a hot summers eve with a nice cold pint... Food was great... I've found this with most chef and brewers
G. B.
Been a favourite local for over 40 years. Great location, good food and well managed. What's not to like?
C. R.
Had a beautiful lunch today. Very professional and lovely staff who were very Covid aware and made our lunch most enjoyable. Well done staff!
C. W.
Took 20mins for children's ice cream to arrive. Completely spilt drinks and got told to pay for all the drinks again even though didn't make it back to the table from the bar. Not enough staff for how busy it was today.
t. s.
Went friday at 5.00pm was fairly busy but got a table no problem. I ordered the chicken makhani curry and it was fab, my husband ordered mixed grill, the food came quite quickly and was piping hot.would highly reccomened.
A. &. L. S.
Lovely dog friendly pub in a country setting but not too far to travel from main towns. Great food and great staff. Lots of garden space and ample parking. #Birmingham #Redditch #Solihull

Food was amazing. Best food I've had at a pub for a very long time. Will go again
S. H.
Lovely sunday lunch, staff were busy but very friendly with fantastic customer service. Food was lovely aswell. Thank you.
P. B.
Only called for a coffee after one of our rambles but both coffee and service were super. Perhaps have lunch there next time. Seemed to be a nice clean and friendly place.
M. S.
Be careful when you order. "Cod and chips" is different from "fish and chips". The latter is a more expensive option with white bread and scampi. We got this by mistake. It took three attempts to get the drink order right too.
R. S.
Great pub but understaffed.
1 hour wait for a small bucket of the world's most expensive chips!!
And they were just oven chips and the place was half empty
B. M.
Lovely old coaching inn with original beams. I went at lunch time on a Wednesday so it wasn't very busy. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was really good and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.
w. f.
Had the turkey sunday roast which was nicely cooked and sticky toffee pudding which was lovely, waitress was really good, and there was a good amount of parking spaces.
A. R.
Gorgeous food, really pretty interior, well decorated, the staff are great and I want to go back again ASAP! Highly recommend the BBQ beef burger and the salted caramel sundae!
l. m.
Great place for a meal and drinks and staff are very friendly
R. P.
Haven't visited the peacock for a while but were impressed with the four meals we had during our four hour Bank Holiday session. Won't be leaving it so long next time.
S. W.
5 stars perfect food. Brilliant service fabulous staff
S. S.
Lovely food in a great pub. It was good that there were lots of different nooks and crannies for the tables so it felt very private
J. C.
Nice place, with a good selection of food. Slightly on the pricey side. Also due to supplier issues can run out of menu items on Sunday evening. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.
A. J.
Love this country pub, decent meals and friendly service
I. J.
Really friendly atmosphere, good food, excellent service!
a. d.
The atmosphere is always uplifting

The Peacock pub as always is so welcoming. The staff are polite, professional and friendly..if you want to enjoy an excellent meal and a drink there is no better place than this rural English pub.

Great food.. great staff etc... Minus point.. little bit of paint required here and there but, wouldn't stop me going back again
S. C.
Nice place, quaint and in the better weather there's good outdoor seating. Meal wasn't too bad but I think you can get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

I.
Food just ok. Nothing has changed regarding the food, still lack lustre. Love the pub but it is too cold in there.
C. R.
Great food I had slow cooked lamb, I'm 6ft2 and the serving size was perfect, fantastic service, lovely decor and settings if you like the rustic look with wood beams with a modern touch, lovely staff

A. B.
Food was great, limited but great choices of draught beer and staff are friendly
Location is lovely, situated on a rural road which is lovely and peaceful
M. L.
Lovely old pub , menu was very good and reasonably priced, only let down was the staff , it was really quiet when we arrived and ordered our food , when food was delivered the waiter asked if we needed anything else , a few of our party said yes, they would like different sauces and more butter, we had to ask three times for the butter , in the end we didn't bother and ate without , plus we were presented with the bill , upon paying we were then told the bill was wrong as they had not added on the deserts which caused confusion as it was all on one bill , shame really as it spoilt our experience in your beautiful pub .
k. k.
We had the festive menu, and it was a first class meal, the service was quick professional and very pleasant. We will definitely be going back very soon.
D. F.

m. h.
Excellent family meal. Very good service.
M. R.
Good food and service. Just enjoyed fish and chips and Old Speckled Hen on tap, now ready to take on the world.
L. W.
Food was gorgeous but more importantly, our waitress Beth was possibly the nicest, cupcake sweet woman I've ever met.
M. A.
We had the opportunity to go for an impromptu dinner. It was a great experience, the staff were lovely and the food and drinks were very good.
S. J.
Seems like a nice pub. Did not eat here but the food looks like normal gastro pub fare. Nice beer selection.

Always a nice place to eat, good service too.
A. B.
Came on a Saturday night..glad we booked as was packed out..spent 2 hours here but never rushed by staff..really good food, service by our waitresses was immense..can't fault it for a pub chain..thank you for making our visit special!
C. E.
Gorgeous food, great customer service. Very happy with my dining experience at the Peacock Inn. Will definitely be returning soon.
R. H.
Actually want to give 2.5... the service is very slow and, while polite, seems forced and a little patronising. Have been a few times, so not based on one bad experience. Shame as in a gorgeous and very accessible location.
D. K.
Lovely pub, nicely nestled in the countryside, good food and friendly service. You can also use Tesco vouchers here, which is useful.
s. s.

Nice place. Good and quiet on a Monday but bar service hit and miss due to poor leadership. Nonetheless would give it another go later in the week.
L. P.
Great food and service. Not too warm, we had to have a fan heater by the table.
M. J.
Good food, good staff. Gets quite busy as people come from a wide area to visit.
T. M.
Been coming here for 20 years on and off, quality varies from time to time, bit as pub food goes this is pretty much always on the positive side.

S. F.
Quite noisy as other guests were really loud, but staff moved us to a quieter area. Good was lovely
S. U.
Cosy but overpriced & mediocre. It's a cracking pub but to be charged restaurant prices then wait ages to be served processed mash is a bit of a con. Give it a whirl but don't expect anything terrific.
G. L.
Lovely pub off the beaten track. Good service, nice ales. Decent food.
L. B.
Delicious meal, served with space between courses, so we did not feel rushed and plenty of time for us six girls to chat.
J. H.

It's a decent place but it does need to make a decision, pub or restaurant and cater more for the beer drinkers
S. w.
Lovely cosy atmosphere, Sat in front of open fire. Excellent service and food.
N. W.
Even better than last time almost a 5*
j. l.
Nice place and staff. Plenty of parking however Food was disappointing this is probably reflective of the low priced menu.
