Great place to meet friends and unwind. Great selection of beers with a cosy friendly atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and polite. Ignore the random negative reviews as these carry no truth or weight whatsoever.

Move friendly service. Initially it looks like standard fayre on the menu for pubs these days, but on closer inspection there are nice additions like Katsu chicken (which was my choice). Food was nicely presented and the triple stack burger looked great, way too much for me, but it looked awesome. The Katsu chicken, which I did have, was really nice and the rice was well cooked and the curry sauce was great.

Sitting out front of the Sacks is to experience something of an English country pub within the span of Birmingham's city centre. Service is part of this. Its retention and enhancement makes a real contribution to Aston University's increasingly pleasant urban campus.

I decided to pop in for a quick pint tonight having not visited Sacks for a considerable amount of time, and ended up staying until the last bell. One member of staff in particular - Ash - convinced me to stay for his remarkably upbeat and jovial approach to his work and everybody he served. As a fellow bartender working under the current government-induced restrictions, such positivity was a reminder of exactly why we do what we do, and his attitude was nothing short of what any hospitality worker should strive for. He truly was an exemplary member of this pub’s team, and I must say he, along with others, deserve every inch of praise that comes his way and then some. Talent and drive should always be recognised as such! The atmosphere was very friendly, the beer was served promptly and always ice-cold when it arrived at my table, and I would honestly recommend this lovely little pub to anybody, from workers simply seeking a pint after clocking out to general passers by! It’s well worth your time!

Loved this place, went as a student with family when they came to visit but had some issues the last time I ate there as I ordered vegetarian sausage and mash, I thought they seemed a bit too meaty and then for the next couple of days I was throwing up (coincidence?). Staff can be really unfriendly too, when I went with my Swedish partner and his friends there seemed to be a lot of animosity towards them when staff heard they weren't speaking English, they were also really moody with us and got angry when we didn't put a menu away. They were maybe having a bad day but doesn't mean treating us poorly when we are always respectful in any establishment.

Second time I've been here in 10 years, as my brothers local when in uni, my dad recommend the burgers here so me and the misses tried it out, she had the cod and chips, I had the double beef with curly fries and my daughter had the double chicken burger. Food was ace as tasted freshly made, the portions are a good size and filling. It's fairly reasonably price as well so not too heavy on the pocket. For those driving I advise carrying change (£4 when we went for 3 hours) for parking as there is parking on the premises but the parking fee will be deducted off your bill. No doubt we will be back again at some point as they do have specials for the different days.

Lovely pub. I often come here when I’m in the area and this week I visited on a Sunday afternoon when they were unusually busy with the pub packed full of conference people from the uni. The poor bar staff were rushed off their feet taking orders and serving food. I saw several customer being extremely rude to the staff because they were waiting for their food, even though we’d all been warned about the delay and the staff were very apologetic. We were fine with the wait and the staff apologised again when they bought our food. My club sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had and my friends fish and chips were also delicious. Smashing pub and I’ll be coming again!

Traditional English pub on the edge of Aston University campus. Surprisingly few students go there and most people are from the older generation. But that doesn’t matter because prices are student-friendly and the atmosphere is top. We really liked the onion rings, the main was however not that tasty.

Unusual mix of old people and young people. Prices are not bad. Not where I would usually go but worth a visit if old style pubs are your thing and you want to be annoyed that young people waste their youth and students look like they are still kids. In other words if you are over 30 go here to feel old.
