Reviews of The Bull
R. A.
Lovely well kept traditional pub with an excellent bar / decor. Beer in great condition and food well cooked and presented.
With Staff who are friendly and informative it ticks all the boxes, couldn't really find fault with the place.
If your from out of town it's a bit hard to find but well worth the effort

Met a couple of friends for a quiet afternoon beer or 2. The pub has recently changed ownership after decades of the same landlady. So I was pleased to find little had changed, 3 very well kept ales all from independent Midlands based breweries. A good pub grub menu with a few modern twists. Friendly staff, spotless and clean (the pub that is) and contact free payments. ELO was playing in the background when I arrived so definitely an extra star for that. Recommended the detour from the city centre and well worth a visit.
C. B.
Nice clean and friendly pub visited while in Birmingham to meet up with a friend not seen for a while. Food looked and smelled great although I personally didn't have any and the beer was well kept and a fair range available on the day. Well worth a visit
D.
Proper traditional boozer, it's like stepping back in time. Real ales, real beer & proper Guiness on tap. No pretentious frills or nonsense.
Comfortable, modest rooms for accommodation at a very fair price.
Great, friendly staff too.
Do yourself a favour & get down there & support a living piece of history that are sadly becoming a dying breed.

I was walking on the way to the children's hospital with my toddler, when she suddenly had the urge to use the toilet, I popped in on the off chance they'd let her, and was pleasantly surprised with the welcome we got (and permission to use the loo) the pub was very clean and tidy and had a sort of nostalgic feel to it as you walk in and have a look around, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the food smelt amazing. I had a little glance at a plate of food that was being taken to someobedy and that also looked and smelt amazing. I will definately visit again, maybe without toddlers next time so I can try some of the ales on offer...

One of the best pubs in Birmingham. Great real ale selection, wonderful food, and a beautiful old school interior. An absolute gem

Very amazing and professionally staff and very high standards of clean room and the owner was very helpful with me as I am fully blind and I would highly recommend this place and I will be staying again and it is a very homily warm comfort feeling in the pub with great food and cosy atmosphere the shower was very powerful and comfortable hot and spacious and clean and the bathroom very clean like a 5 star hotel and the room is to a very high standard of clean and very comfy bed one of the best nights sleeps
A. B.
Lovely little boozer with a surprisingly impressive range of cask and craft beers. Nice atmosphere and really great food. Garden out the back. Bit of a hidden gem, would fully recommend.

I visited this propper corner locals real ale pub in Birmingham was like 1950s atmosphere in pub which sell good real ale with helpful landlord and land lady
Wish pubs could all be like this
There is massive need for pubs to keep to the propper pub standards like this one has.

A good meal on a Bank Holiday, when many pubs in city centres are either closed or not serving food.
C. B.
It was amazing. The staff and atomosphere was so friendly. Didnt want to leave. The thing that stood out was the amazing toilets. So clean and large will be returning very soon.
P. K.
Great little olde world pub with cask and keg. Hidden little gem in central Birmingham. Must visit again.
G. C.
Brilliant pub very friendly good atmosphere highly recommended it
D. F.
Small quaint old fashioned pub, seasonal range of beers and small but adequate menu. This Friday evening it was quiet and it was pleasant to sit and talk whilst eating and drinking. All four of us enjoyed the black country maggots that were on offer.

B. Q.
Incredibly tasty food and the most pleasant barmaid in Birmingham
M. J.
Wonderful pub. Very friendly, great beer, lovely atmosphere. Once we can get to normal times hopefully good grub back on. Uncertainty re lockdowns not helping any one.
S. D.
Fascinating pub with a rich history. Landlord and staff are friendly and knowledgeable and always ready for a chat.
We stayed in a room overnight which was basic but comfortable and clean. We had tea and coffee making facilities, the room itself was quiet and dark with the curtains closed. The only minor issue was that we couldn't get on to the WiFi but to be fair we didn't ask for clarification on the passwords provided so I'm nitpicking!
Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
C. G.
Lovely food and a proper pub. I'm not a beer drinker but my other half loves real ale here
M. C.
Cosy backstreet pub with well kept cask ale.
R. S.
Lovely old fashion pub full of nick nacks and good ale .
B. H.
Brilliant little pub, we booked out the entire pub for a corporate event and the staff did not dissapoint at all. All food was brought out in succession, a great feat considering it was only a small kitchen. The taste was not at all lacking either, plenty of food on top of a terrific recipe. Drinks served were great and service was very smiley. Highly recommend this quaint and quiet tavern.
J. G.
Great wee old-character Irish pub gem tucked away on the edge of the city. Great tasty hearty food and a wide selection. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Patrick on the bar and Paddy in the kitchen! Well worth a stop.

A quirky and authentic old pub. The ceilings are covered in hanging jugs! It is a little oasis of calm. Staff are lovely. Food is very traditional with good portion sizes. They keep it simple but cooked with care. My friend really enjoyed his tender lamb. I had a beautifully cooked omelette with crisp chips and veg. It hits the mark for simple traditional with good portion sizes. There is a pub cat, which is a definite plus for me ;-)
A. R.
Awesome. A real old-fashioned pub right on the fringe of the City Centre next to the gun factory. It is like it has been 'frozen' in time. Great beer, lovely lady who runs it, great little patio/back-yard and less than 10 minutes walk from Colmore Row. If you want a drink in somewhere old-fashioned but really special, this is for you. Didn't eat there, but menu looked appetizing. Absolutely 5 stars.
G. H.
