Reviews of The Distillery
K. Q.
Went for a gin making experience. 2 hours long 12-2. £35 for a small bottle of your own gin flavours that you are guided through, a glass of Round House gin and a pizza from their menu. Great host, and experience. Would recommend for any type of event/celebration or simply for the experience.

A group of us came here for a bottomless brunch. Our drinks were kept topped up and the food was really nice they even let a few swap the brunch option for a pizza. definitely got our moneys worth. Wish i got the waitresses name as she was so lovely. The garden at the back is lovely in the summer too 😍
J. H.
Has stolen the canal houses crown as best looking pub and beer garden. Wonderful spot, great selection and atmosphere.
D. J. I.
Great bar and restaurant with friendly members of staff. We particularly enjoyed the vegan burgers and chips. Highly recommend! Will visit again soon.
M.
I thought it was closed, but it wasn't and it was very early so the place was almost empty. We saw the oven for the pizza and immediately we said PIZZAAAA & BEEERRRRSSS!!!
After work, it's a good place to go and share a few beers and something to eat. The staff was very kind and it's a place we will go back.
The entrance it's the only thing I didn't like cause it was a long walk around the place. The entrance is by the canal no the main street, but it's just a small issue, the walk never is bad.

Stumbled by the distillery whilst out for a walk, lovely relaxing atmosphere, we stayed for drinks and a meal, not quite sure about the menu but we will definitely go again the staff was lovely and the service was fantastic
J. D.
My first pub trip post the pandemic lockdown. The pub has a well organised layout, the food was tasty and the service was good. I'll go again for the Sunday roast this weekend.

Company Christmas party, what can I say other than amazing. Food was fabulous and our free from staff were blown away with their foods. Your staff throughout the the day(apologises for not remembering your names)were helpful, friendly absolutely nothing was to much trouble for them, a total credit to the Distillery. Thank you all for a fab day.

First visit here, I can honestly say I was impressed. Located in a historic section of Birmingham city centre, it was originally built in 1874 as stables for the horses that worked the extensive canal network.
The building is decorated with some original features and I really liked the contemporary industrial styling of the fittings and furnishings. The service was friendly and happily catered for a large group of people. The menu was simple, yet effective but I was a little disappointed that there were not a lot of chicken choices. Saying that, the paprika half chicken was really nice. Not a fan of gin, but if I were I'm sure I'd have enjoyed the house gin, wgich they make themselves.
If you fancy an eatery that's away from the hustle and bustle of broad Street or the main city centre... Venturing around the fringes is a good idea, and this is an ideal venue. Reasonably priced, fully stocked bar, hot and freshly cooked food and a great atmosphere. Will definitely come here again, especially in the summer.

It’s rare the food exceeds my expectations. Every dish was an excellent example; even best of its type. What’s amazing is, The Distillery’s main focus isn’t food... Given that, the drinks they pour must be something else.
A.
Very spacious outdoor seating with incredibly friendly staff, a great selection of draught drinks.
Considering how amazing the pizzas are and that they are freshly made, they are fast!
Anyone passing by should definitely stop here.
H. R.
A nice outside pub to watch football, food is good. The downside is they don’t accept booking for big matches.
J. A.
I went here as one of my first outings since places opened back up. We easily got a table in the spacious beer garden. I found there was a good selection drinks, great service and the food came out promptly and was tasty.
Most importantly the staff were friendly and helpful, they had clearly created a safe, welcoming pub. We will definitely be going back.
J. S.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon family meal. Staff were very friendly. A good atmosphere. Enjoyed the food. Would recommend
V. F.
Lovely pub/restaurant. Food was cooked nicely with good flavour. Quiet when we went but staff were attentive & friendly.
J. S.
Great place, with atmosphere, nice vibe, happy service and a good collection of gin.
Speaking of which, there is a Russian Lady working here who definitely knows her gins. Speak to her and she seems happy to advise and guide your gin experience.
Food is good, wholesome grub. With a few novel items like a pork and chorizo burger which was a great find.
Worth a visit.
A. G.
Great food and drinks. Service quite good. Decor and views are good too and the location is more quite that the regular busy places on the canals. Prices are a bit higher than regular but we'll worth it.

2 weeks in Birmingham, eating out every night and The Distillery is the best by far. Nestled alongside the csnal a littlw past the 5-way junction, its fitout is warm and classy, staff 5-star service and a relatively small menu on which everything is done well. So well in fact my colleague and I returned to eat there again the very next night with additional colleagues (from 5 different countries) whom all agreed this had been there best food in Brimingham. Such a pleasure eating Quality food in a nice sitting. The motto of low and slow holds true the ribs are literally to for for succulent!! Salads often a neglected afterthought were fresh, crisp and tasty... which supported the more'ish pizzas and mains on offer. Do yourself a favour and go... over and over again.
D. V.
Large space. With a quirky edge. Most staff were helpful and friendly. Buts theres alwaya one let's you feeling a little let down.
Food was good quality. The portions were a little small, Hummus starter needed more flat bread, other than all good.
Would go again. Parking is opposing the multi storey.
S. K.
Really enjoyed eating here - we went for dinner on a Saturday evening, managed to get a table without booking although it did get rather busy shortly after we turned up, so it might be worth ringing ahead, especially for groups bigger than two.
The food was fantastic and generously portioned; I ordered the lamb shawarma from the middle-east inspired menu, and the nduja croquettes and marinated chicken wings we had for starters were also excellent.
We stayed for a drink after in the eponymous gin bar, which was a nice experience and has some cool decor, although was fairly quiet for a Saturday night.
P. G.
Friendly staff. Reasonable beer range (was on the Purity Gold). Food was very nice, chips were nice but could have been warmer. To be fair, it was extremely busy today, due to the weather, and they've only been open three weeks, so I think they'd struggle to get 100% perfection!
M. P.
A really interesting place. Great location and could imagine it being great in summer. Looking for somewhere to spend new year and this seems like a great option.
We arrived early on a Sunday and ordered drinks and food. Both great. Only reason for 4 stars was it was very cold in there. I appreciate it's winter but put heaters in earlier. (plus I don't give out 5 stars easily)
Food was great, lots on offer to drink and a lovely setting
S. E.
Great selection of drinks, great location and great beer garden. Ideal in the current weather! The place is very hipster and I’m not sure they pull it off. I had the Lamb Shawarma which was nice but looked a lot like someone had taken a dump on my plate. My wife had the pork and chorizo burger which was good if a little dry.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
S. R.
We visited for my wife's birthday. She'd been looking forward to eating here for a while, so was understandably quite upset when we realised we booked for the following Saturday by mistake. The restaurant was totally full, so her birthday night out was almost ruined... Until the amazing Distillery staff stepped in. They grabbed a table from the bar and made up an entirely new setting for us. It really made her birthday.
The food was excellent. We had the lamb shawarma which was incredible: piles of fragrant, melt in the mouth slow-cooked lamb accompanied by delicious homemade dips. 5 stars well deserved.
l. p.
Lovely service from the team 16/10 at appox 5:30pm. Food was at a good standard as were the drinks
C. S. R.
The outdoor space is very nice. Perfect to enjoy a relaxed time with friends, watch a football match and make the best of a good weather day. The food menu could be better, not much to choose from
P. D.
Beer left me really gassy and with an over acidic taste and no head. Either hadn't been pourd right or just over gassed. Registering on the app takes too much, why you can't just login with Google / apple instead or having to then verify. More frustrating is then waiting too long for it to arrive... Or better order and pay on card? Can see the bar staff from where we were seated and they weren't pouring drinks.
Left me feeling like it really could have been a better experience.
R. G.
Nice enough place, pleasant staff, food good. But the app is a problem.
You have to give name, phone number, email address just to be able to order anything. Over the the top and unnecessary. Insufficient information at the time the app is installed about what this data is to be used for. You are also automatically opted in for marketing communications which is not detailed at the time the data is entered and for which you have to raise a support ticket to get removed. Ridiculous!
Service charges automatically added to every order and it's not obvious how to remove it. Why make it on by default?
M. A.
Wonderfully relaxing, the bloke was super friendly but not invasive to mine and my dads conversation, he knew everything about his drinks and gave good insightful opinions on them. Lovely atmosphere, good music.
J. k.
Another nice pub by the beautifully regenerated Birmingham canal, I didn't eat but the menu sounded great. they also have love music I believe sometimes here ♠️

A great afternoon watching the footy in the afternoon sun, service was through the app and was very efficient.
E. k.
I came from Derby with a friend came across this place omg it didn't disappoint me at all weather was lovely, the food was amazing friendly staff one definitely stud out from the rest ( Anne Marie ) she had such an amazing personality funny so friendly and couldn't do anymore for you if she tried I will definitely be back again for sure ❤
L. H.
We booked to have a nice dinner before going to a show, the service was very efficient and our waitress was personable and helpful without seeming scripted
The lamb ribs are amazing and the pizza delicious too love all the small plates and a good gin selection
M. W.
Great food and drink. Excellent canalside, courtyard setting. Large screen football game. What more could you want.
H. W.
Great spot by the canal near Brindleyplace. Food disappointingly average despite sounding rather pretentious and nice on the menu. No pizzas available, either. Visit for drinks, not food!
D. C.
A good quite courtyard during the midweek. Nice on a warm sunny day. Be prepared for table service and order via the app though I was lucky to be able to order at the bar.
J. W.
Very good. Ordered on the app but only issue is that when you order a drink to come without lime and 7 out of your 10 drinks come with lime and you've stated you don't want it , it can become annoying. Taking the lime out in front of me does not fix the issue.
J. N.
A nice experience with the Covid restrictions in place
It was easy to book an appointment on the website. You need to download the mosaic app and create a profile
There is good social distancing and safety measures in place.
The drinks and food were delivered quickly and on time
Good customer experience and help is always available on the floor
Its ideally situated next to the canal
Value for money parking is also available opposite to the pub
M. S.
Met a few friends here on a Saturday. Was sitting in the outside area. App ordering and service was really quick. Location right next to the canal with a big screen with the football on. About 15 - 20 minutes walk from new street but a few places for a drink stop on the way.
S. S.
Having to wait in a long queue to get served was not fun. When i got to the till i ordered my food- lamb shwarma..was then given the price and was surprised they had added an 'optional' 12.5% service charge without even asking me! I do not like this practice. If i had received amazing service then fair enough but i didnt even have any. Service was like nandos. Self sevice so how they have the cheek to add 12.5% was a bit crazy. I did tell them to remove this service charge which they did do but they put you in a awkward position to have to do this. That aside the food was ok. The lamb was very tender but it did lack spice and a kick. The harissa was not spicy at all and it did get quite bland quite quick. Wouldnt really return.
J. L. G.
Great building, fine booze, and good staff - recommend
K. L.
Amazing food . The staff were friendly and professional . We had an elderly member of the family with us thank you for all your help making her feel special nothing was to much trouble for the staff . You made a special occasion even more special
C.
Great pub for good weather, large outdoor seating area by the canal. Good lagers and beers on tap and good pub food (burgers, snacks etc.). Offering a limited menu during covid - no hot drinks at the moment (April 2021)
B. L.
Lucky to be in the queue early to get in.
Bookings only and table time limited to 2.5 hours. Fast & easy to order & pay through app. Drinks & food arrived quickly, nice burger & chips
J. B.
Nice chilled place, staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long for drinks. Lovely decor and massive screens outside for sport.
M. M.
Fantastic pub with a massive garden next to the canal, more than enough to allow for complete social distancing, while still accomodating enough people to create a great vibe. Efficient, friendly service and great food top it off
A. H.
Attended The Gin School. Had a great time, learned a lot about the gin distilling process under the instruction of Sam. Enjoyed a fabulous pizza while our gin cooked
Would definitely recommend
G. S.
Such a lovely place to eat, beautiful moments. Nice pizza!
M. K.
Group of 10 of us came here for an evening of food & drinks not knowing what to expect (as it’s new). Wow!!! We were all very pleasantly surprised, the food and service was amazing, we all agreed that the food was excellent, we all had different meals and everyone loved it (one guy said it was the best pizza he had ever had!) I had the whole chicken and it was juicy and very tasty, different class to Nandos.
The drinks were excellent too, they had every gin you could ever wish for, bar staff were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Overall an excellent experience had by us all, we would all be returning again very soon, highly recommended this place!!!
G. E.
Had a really good Sunday lunch here. Their food and drink offering is consistently good. Only minor quibbles are the desserts are a bit small for the price and the service charge add on before you've had any service is a bit of a cheek. Especially as you are eating in a pub. Those things aside, it is a really enjoyable place to go.
J. M.
Love this place! Great outdoor seating with huge outdoor screen for sporting events. Situated right on the canal. Food great , great oven pizzas
R. G.
Visited on Thursday evening. Very quiet, yet service was slow. Reasonable range of drinks and okay menu. The chicken burger is much better than the beef version which is a little dull. Chips are okay but they are neither skinny nor chunky tripple cooked. Seating was comfortable, lighting good and quite clean. Starters are very good and we had a range, all were excellent. Disability access seemed okay but it is on two levels. Beware of the 15% added to the bill. Its not mandatory and makes the staff nervous about billing. We did tip but not that level. Overall okay but needs to try harder.
M. H.
I've always been a big fan of The Distillery. It's a lovely bar, which always has a fantastic atmosphere - particularly in the beer garden. Unfortunately, the last few times I've been I've found the staff to be at unbearable levels of rudeness and entitlement.
Sadly, this doesn't sound like an isolated incident. I've spoken to a number of other patrons of the establishment and have heard they too, have had similar encounters.
It's a shame that this fantastic place has now become known for having rude staff & poor service. I hope management are able to correct this before the staff make the reputation even worse.
J. E.
A good selection of beers and gin, the food is ok. Grleat Canalside location when the weather is a bit warmer
S. R.
Best beer garden in Birmingham, made even better by the big screen. Perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday! Service and food was also spot on, would recommend any of the sourdough pizzas.
A. P.
Great place for food and Gin!
Well worth a visit
D. K.
Excellent efficient service. Great for sports outdoors
C. C.
The location and decor is lovely and staff helpful. We did the bottomless brunch which was actually good value for money if you drink enough but the food let it down on the brunch. The food off the normal menu looked lovely though so i will go back and try their normal menu.
S. P.
Partner and I stumbled on this place during a push bike ride up the canal.
We had a quick drink and some chips.
Nice place, friendly staff, great selection of beer and tasty food.
J. B.
A great outdoor space by the canal meant this was the perfect venue for us to enjoy the Bank Holiday sunshine. Unfortunately it was spoilt a little by having to queue for what seemed like an age to get served at the bar, probably about 25 minutes. That said when we did get served the selection of beers was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the sunshine.
J. E.
Great to be back in my local, and the fact it sounded like an old school house night just made it better! Minor issues with seeing the full menu due to not being able to connect to their wifi, but had a couple of nice pints and some cracking food, would heartily recommend the buttermilk chicken and the presumably sourdough pizza.
R. B.
Great pub, great food, especially the pizza! Has really cool chill vibe also.
m. r.
Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch, everything made inhouse. A really nice environment with lovely staff. Katie and Sam couldn't have been more pleasant. A really nice place to spend a few hours.
V. C.
The itself it's great, staff were very friendly, you have to book a table to eat or drink, they accept walk ins but you might be waiting a few minutes
M. M.
The food was fantastic! I'm still thinking about it four days later.. It's great quality food for a really good price. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. My only issue was that we couldn't find the entrance on the canal side (lol) but it's worth the search!
p. b.
Very good service and a good selection of gins and ales. Perfect place to watch sports with the three metre screen
T. W.
Very pleasant waterside pub with contemporary decor and a large canal side outside seating area, a very good choice of drinks and food.I had a cauliflower based vegetarian dish and the sauces and flavourings it came in were delicious.
I stopped for a quick lunch and the service was fast and efficient. Before 1pm on a weekday it is also seemed easy to get a table for lunch without booking/waiting.
A. M.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere. The rotisserie chicken is succulent and served generously, whilst the pizzas are an enjoyable escape from the lazy American style often found in such places.
The gin based cocktails are also particularly enjoyable, worth seeking for those more adventurous. The classic cocktails are also of a high standard, reasonably priced and often served with a neat twist!
The standard bottled drinks are somewhat pricy however, and should probably be avoided... why buy branded when you can go for something new?
K. M.
Nice looking pub in a great location on the canal. Good outdoor seating. Nice food and good choice of gins. Food was very slow coming out. Told after it was because of the bottomless brunch on. It spoilt our meal as we were rushed. Barman had attitude, no one explained where to get cutlery. A nice place let down by staff sadly.
M. J.
Amazing pub with huge screen showing football. Loved the food! Decent quantity and taste.
J. S.
Attentive service, great food, stylish interior and quirky location
H. S.
Outdoor beer garden is the redeeming feature of this place. It's nice to be outdoors on a hot summer afternoon!
Drinks are pretty expensive here, I got hit for £14ish for a double G&T and a bottle of Peroni. Later in the evening the staff turned off the lights in the toilet while I was still in there. Pitch black peeing isn't ideal.
Otherwise yeah it's worth a look in.
J. I.
Massive beautiful beer garden. Lovely inside the pub. Extensive range of drinks.
J. P.
We came with our 16 month old after visiting the sealife centre. The pizzas were awesome, the best in brum! Great selection of beers, the service was great. Definitely recommend. I can see us coming here a lot!
M.
Very empty when we arrived at midday on a sunday, but the food was very tasty. Quite standard service, nothing outstanding. Is situated right on the canal, so is probably better suited as a summer location, than one for early winter
S. M.
Great beer garden alongside the canal. gets very busy on a hot day as it is the perfect location to enjoy the sun with friends, a good drink and the sight of passing canal boats. Good drink selection and friendly staff.
A. W.
Staff, service, food, drinks and place excellent. Visited on a Saturday afternoon for a light lunch and Gin cocktail (of course). We shared the Charred Cauliflower Shawarma which was 'delicious' and after had the Sticky Toffee Pudding Sundae and both agreed it was the best we had ever tasted. Staff are so friendly and the pub has a comfortable atmosphere. We also enjoyed sampling a few gin cocktails and will return.
s. r.
I've used the distillery about a dozen times. I like to pop in when visiting Brum. A nice tidy bar with very pleasant staff. Drinks are reasonably priced. I do like the feel to this place. Very relaxed and grown up feel to it. Defo worth popping in for a few drinks or something to eat.
P. P.
Came here for a meal with my boyfriend earlier this evening and we both agreed that it was the best meal out that we'd had in a long time. Nice atmosphere, lovely staff, amazing food. Will definitely be back!
A. S.
This is quickly becoming my favorite place in the neighborhood. Their food as far as I've tried is good. The place is comfy. Staff is nice. Will see me about once a week regularly, I guess.
S. 1.
Great out door garden and drinks are great
Food was overpriced and average tbh
The atmosphere was nice
S. P.
Attended the England v Panama game for the world cup on a sunny Sunday. It was as expected rammed but the staff were absolutely amazing. The bar ran like a well oiled machine and the food came out almost as quick as we could get back to the table. And cracking food it was. The venue is beautiful, by the canal and they had a massive outdoor TV for the footy. Drink selection was amazing too. Great world cup day!
B. L.
Absolutly loved this place.
Situated on the bank of the canal, slightly further away from town than I would normally venture, but still very very accessible.
The Distillery boasts a brilliant choice of alcohol and a glorious menu, that when ordered from, was cooked beautifully, served quickly and tasted fantastic.
The bar and dining areas are clean and aestheticly pleasing, with a rustic yet homely feel.
The staff are well presented, well trained in their available drink and food menus and very polite, without being too overly formal.
The food was, to be blunt, bloody glorious and I found, incredibly good value for money.
It feels a bit like home, comfortable, you don't mind having a chat with the staff, its cosy yet modern, none judgemental and accommodating.
Toilets are clean.
Outdoor area is large with seating.
100% will recommemtd and return.
N.
Definitely recommending this place. The Sunday lunch was superb and the pizzas for the kids were fantastic. Good line up of drinks and the staff were brilliant, especially with the children.
M. M.
fantastic place, good steak good beer.
what more do you want ;)
S. K.
Decent place, food average. Perfect for summer or weekend sports.
S. O.
Fantastic canal side location, serving average cocktails and palatable food.
Severely let down by the lack of adequate storage, or unwillingness to store oars for those customers arriving by kayak. Unlikely to be returning with members of my flotilla.
J. L.
Lovely Courtyard out the back. Right on the canal. Nice place
F. R.
The staff GP here were really friendly and genuinely helpful . They advised us on places to visit , the type of gin to try for a first time gin drinker and they tried to help with a boat problem too. The coffee was mellow, the food was delicious (a bit pricey but worth it) , the portion sizes were just right, the position next to the canal was perfect.
O. D.
Great food, drinks, garden and staff. Mobile app makes ordering easy. Will return
T. L.
Really friendly bar staff downstairs were amazing accommodating me and a hungry girlfriend after the kitchen had closed with a very tasty pizza. Would recommend to anyone for a few pre drinks and food before hitting the bars on broad Street on a night out.
P. T.
Good provision of effective first aid. Two bleeding blisters successfully nursed on scene. Whilst maintaining social distancing. Then got bollocked. Fell in the canal.
10/10 would visit again.
L. H.
A very very good roast! And friendly staff
E.
Lovely place to go for drinks and/or food, with a cool, modern interior. There is the option for table service or can order at the bar for a more casual. Have a great selection of gins and gin cocktails. Pizza was also delicious.
C. L.
Best outdoor terrace pub in Birmingham BUT the food has no taste and there is so much waste of pizza boxes - where is the consciousness of the environment?
F. C.
This place has a really good music and chill vibe. Perfect for evening out with friends. Drinks reasonably priced and food is surprisingly good as for bar food. Will be coming back!
P. B.
Good food, nice staff, pleasant atmosphere. Cant find fault. Also fully respected my veggie friend and pointed out necessary changes. A pleasure to visit and eat here. Will be back.
G. W.
The Distillery was a lovely place to stop for a drink in the outdoor area along the canal. They had a huge selection on gins on offer and the staff were friendly and efficient.
S.
Fantastic bar food is excellent. They have recently installed a huge LED screen in the massive beer garden adjacent to the canal for the world cup. So if you're stuck on finding a place to watch it the destillery is a perfect option.
M. C.
Food is fantastic. Reasonable prices
Exellent chefs. Friendly staff and such a beautiful location.
Customers are all ages and are friendly.
It's a nice relaxing smooth bar restaurant where the outside area is so nice this time of the year
J. M.
I like this place, it has a great interior design a spacious beer garden over looking the canal and canal boat activities. I would just say that although the food is reasonable, and the service is friend, the price of the gins is very expensive! Be careful what you order, a round of 2 double gins and 2 mixers cost me £28!!!!
j. “. W.
A fabulous gin selection in a really beautiful bar but wow it's pricey! Even for Birmingham city centre it's expensive. A double gin and a pint was just under £20 (£17ish) high enough to put us off of stopping for a second drink.
Really pretty and quaint interior, lovely staff and we loved the gin still but it's a little to pricey for us to visit again.
r. V.
Only resto where I found Merguez - French sausages.. its awesome.. vwry good ambience and great collection of Gins.
B. H.
Good place if your a footie fan,big screen outside.enjoed a drink in fresh air
B. K.
Great atmosphere, the 2 lads on the entrance, were a credit to the establishment, and their generation.
A. C.
One of my favourite bars in Birmingham - good cocktails but most importantly amazing atmosphere and usually top music and dance. Really like the feel of the place and the backyard in the summer. The food is what you would expect in any other bar.
The only downside is the location as you have to walk through the business district and to my knowledge there is no much else in terms of night life nearby
A. K.
As a vegetarian the options available are limited. I had the Sunday roast with the falafel burger. After eating it I realised why falafel is never usually placed with a roast. The veg was cooked well, but lacked seasoning. The waiter was lovey though. The building is also really nice and clean and due to plenty of outside seats, it's an great place to eat and drink alfresco
K. J.
Great place, big screen for sports. Menu is small but tasty.
k. j.
Food at this place is a joke honestly ordered food via app and they sent all small size drinks and plus no cutlery or napkins provided, no social distancing in place price is too high as well
J. I.
Massive outdoor screen, lovely beer, great food. Chicken strips were huge!
b.
Had the tacos, croquettes and hummus. Tacos and croquettes were really good, hummus was a bit bland but still enjoyed it. Also really enjoyed the white rioja, very easy drinking.
L. N.
Love it! The staff, the atmosphere, the food... 5 stars
M. L.
Much nicer surroundings now that it has been done up but service quality still appears to be bedding in. The vegetarian options consist of grilled halloumi served in three ways - guaranteed to cause confusion and leave you ending up with the wrong one. Like The Button Factory, this group really needs to work on its vegetarian options and this comes from a meat-eater!
D. A.
Good gin selection and the food was superb. Good watching them cook it in front of you too at the bar downstairs. Great for all dietary requirements including vegan
M. J.
Really delicious pizza (the Zucca was great), and a good selection of both craft and real ale. It's also unexpectedly child friendly, providing us with highchair and plastic cutlery and crockery.
D. C.
Great bar to catch the last of the afternoon sun. Great selection of gins and a huge outside space to enjoy them sun. Nice view of the canal and right next to the historic Roundhouse which is in development to be a central hub for exploring the city!
S.
Great atmosphere and table service. Reccomend coming here to watch big football games.
M. M.
Fun little pub on the canal. Has a great beer selection and good food. I recommend it for a relaxed beer after walking around the city centre.
A. A.
Private function - the room was perfect with a great atmosphere, the staff and management made sure we had everything we needed, they were brilliant. The food was equally as good as the room and service, we had a perfect baby shower, I can’t recommend this place enough.
J. N.
Couldn't get in anywhere for food so stumbled in here, best chicken burger I've had - the wife had halloumi and said it was fantastic. Really friendly staff - 5 star easily !

Excellent choice of spirits and beers plus superb food. It's particularly lovely during the summer months when you can sit in the spacious outdoor area and watch the narrowboats drift by.
P. W.
Nice food and staff helpful
D. M.
Great place, prices are very fair, my pizza was one of the best I've had. Right on the side of the canal, it is warm & cosy, it has a large beer garden, service is friendly, this is a great place for locals or visitors.

Great food, huge selection of beers. Relaxed atmosphere with an industrial-chic decor. Will be going back, probably even more so in the summer to enjoy the canal side seating.
J. B.
Formerly known as The Fiddle And Bone pub, The Distillery has become a very popular canal side venue, with a large beer garden outside where they serve good food. Of course you can order more than just gin at the bar, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming
C. B.
Called for a quick drink just before closing time. Not many people in but bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Will go again.
D. S.
Great place! Lovely atmosphere, good beers and the food was amazing! All for a reasonable price as well.

Found this gem of a bar after seeing 30 Seconds to mars. Great atmosphere and great beer.
C. B.
Great pub with a good menu. Recommend the gin cocktails (obviously), just make sure you’re well in time for the happy hour. 1 min out and you’re losing.
R. S.
Very nice location and well decorated inside + out. Didn't try the food but there are lots of different beers and ciders that aren't prohibitively expensive.
G. H.
Great location and atmosphere, a great selection of gin with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cant wait to come back and try the food. The menu sounded great.
T. R.
