My first time in the Fox, despite living in Birmingham for years. Quite the eclectic mix of customers so obviously attracts all ages. Was nice, a little small inside, but loved the music. We mostly sat outside and the outdoor area was spacious and warm (heaters were on). Good provision for disabled access too, they were sorting a ramp and access for a lady in a mobility scooter just as we left - nice to see a venue actively being accessible.

Friendly place. Quick service at the bar and very reasonable prices. Where else can you buy a bottle of prosecco in a city centre pub for £16 and then sit in a garden courtyard with heaters to enjoy it.

Sometimes can be a good night but last night staff did not believe I was exempt from wearing a mask despite me showing them evidence. I’ve had police officers believe me before I’ve even shown them any form of evidence when travelling via public transport. I found the experience humiliating and felt judged by both staff and customers. These rules are in place to support people who may be neurodiverse, suffer from anxiety or with disabilities. Therefore it’s best to support people when they present that they don’t need to wear a mask, instead of a questioning something they are finding already painful. I found it odd that other patrons were in a state of drunken disarray and yet I was found to be the problem. I used to enjoy going to this bar, but twice my very presence there has been questioned (once previously when they told me to leave a running club social I was on). I will be thinking carefully about whether to take my custom elsewhere.

Lovely Queer bar. Generally a drag queen or DJ on if you prefer a louder atmosphere but a nice outdoor area around the back that can be quite picturesque.
