Reviews of The Good Intent

Super friendly tenders. Nice atmosphere inside. My beer was served in a super nice etched glass. They let me buy one for a donation to their charity. Beer was very good. Really enjoyed my visit here.

Interesting place. Bit on the pricey side. Cask ale not bad, but staff not sure what styles the different beers are

A good selection of craft ale from Craddocks Brewery, and other. The Good Intent is a non-profit bar and donates profits to local charities. We had on draft the Craddocks Brewery: Goat Herder stout, 4.5% and Hobsons Brewery: Town Crier, 4.5%. A variety of craft cans & bottles too.

A lovely drinks-focused (rather than food) pub, not pretentious or fussy but a very extensive list of draught and canned/bottled beers, as well as a good range of wines and classic cocktails.
It's inside an arcade which means that you can't smoke outside, but the ambience is very nice with candles at tables, plenty of space and not too much noise/echo around the room. Staff are very friendly and helpful, my pint was £4.50 for lager which is about average for central Birmingham. Would gladly visit again.

Love this pub. Friendly staff, great ambience and wide range of ales. Our favourite pub in Birmingham!

The Good Intent is an amazing pub with a nice selection of real ales, beers, cocktails and wine. It’s really good value for money and if you drink the real ales that are brewed locally you get a loyalty card where every 9th beer is free! The bar staff are super friendly and clearly love what they do. Not to mention, the good intent is a not for profit with 10% of the proceeds going to charity.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get better they’ve recently started serving Jamaican style food which is so reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! We had the jerk chicken burger and some katsu loaded fries and it was some of the best food we have eaten all year. Thank you Roslyn ❤️
It’s also my boyfriends favourite pub. He wanted me to mention the electronic winch they have to use to get the beer into the sky high ‘cellar’. Classic.

Friendly, comfortable, big chairs, mountains of space, lovely chatty people working there, good beer from Craddocks (who more people should know about), great location, and if you have eight pints (over multiple visits) you get the next one free. What more could one ask for?

Nice place but a bit quiet on a Saturday night, I will have to try an afternoon next time. Nice pub with a good selection of ales. Will have to try out upstairs as well. Friendly staff.

A really good “proper” pub. Lovely, friendly and efficient staff, a great choice of locally brewed beer, a good friendly atmosphere with a diverse range of customers.
It occupies a really good spot in the Great Western Arcade near Snow Hill Station, the decor is cool, tastefully retro British city centre pub with a nod to New York bars with bare brick walls.
They don’t serve food but you can bring your own and eat it there, similar to The Wellington.
All profits go to charity.
I’ll be back!

I can not overstate how much I love this place. The drinks are amazing and reasonably priced, the location is lovely, and the staff are phenomenal.
There's nowhere in town other than possibly The Colmore that gets it so right. I can not recommend it highly enough.

Interesting new pub.
Craddocks beers, a non profit venture.
Good ale, well worth a visit.
It's in the great western arcade, a former shop.

A hidden gem. Wandering back from seeing friends to snow hill station, wishing we'd come here first. A superb welcome from Lindsay and a great pint. Definitely a bar to come back to. Thanks for the welcome and the beer.
S. A.
Nice place. Sound ethos. Wish I liked Craddock's beer more. Still there are other choices.
R. H.
An underrated gem. Always given a warm welcome and a great retreat from the hassle and bustle around. Great selection of beers & ciders - on pull and in bottles/cans

Amazing place! Fab, retro "Peaky Blinders" setting in Birmingham's glorious Victorian Western Arcade.
A fashionable selection of drinks and staff were really friendly - but best of all is the philanthropy involved in this startup. What a brilliant idea; 100% of profits directed to charity. Please so visit if you get a chance - visit on a Sunday if you prefer a quiet drink 😉
D.
Fab pub with great drinks and lovely staff!!
A. B.
First visit with my daughter who had been before. Lovely place, bathroom was nice and clean. Like that it's a non profit place. Will certainly go again
D. M.
Great beer and fab setting (go upstairs if you can) could only be improved with another bar up there ;)
J. F.
Clearly a new-ish place but it's very nicely decorated to give it a traditional Victorian feel which matches the surrounding arcade. Good range of beers, decent prices for the city centre and the charity initiative is a nice idea.

Visited early Saturday place not busy understandably, but does get busy.
Plenty of Craddocks ales on tap and of excellent quality, other ciders, ales available, friendly staff.
Spotlessly clean.
disabled access, free wi-fi, plenty standing and seating available over 2 levels.
Coffee machine being installed, snacks available.
Loyalty cards handed out.
Easy access from buses, and snow hill station.
Recomended give it a try you wont be dissapointed.

Prohibition Friendly
A well hidden diamond, safe, clean, friendly, roomy and private.
A true find.
At a time when we’re all looking at new ways of working it is a pleasure to see this Social Enterprise working so well.
Social distancing is important to these guys but the place is like a tarsus with enough space for everyone to have their own wing.
If you can find it, try it.

(Translated) Typical English pub with a great selection of real ales in the Great Western Arcade.
Many are made by hand in the area, so it is worth a stop along the way
(Original)
Típico pub inglés con una gran selección de cervezas en el Great Western Arcade.
Muchas se elaboran artesanalmente en la zona, por lo que merece la pena un alto en el camino
