Reviews of The Head of Steam Birmingham
S. C.
Went on a quiet afternoon on a weekday, so it was comfortable and not crowded at all. Staff were lovely and the food came really quickly. The vegan donner fries were absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Nachos were delicious too. Food currently served in takeout boxes for hygiene reasons I assume. Quality of my pictures aren't great, but the food is really worth a try if you're in the city center. Quite a large range of beers on tap too if that's what you fancy (I only had water). Will definitely be back with my family/friends as there's seating for large groups.
P. N.
Well worth a visit, good selection of beer, good service and good food.
And footy on the telly, what more could you want 🤔
S. T.
Would just like to say what a lovely atmosphere this place has. It was really nice that the manager came over who was busy working to take our order. Nothing was too much trouble. The beer and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

I love this bar in centre of Birmingham up from new street train station. Decor is funky and industrial, great back ground music. Many TV screens so great for pre match drinks . The staff are exceptional, I would go as far to say the best in Birmingham. I come here maybe once or twice a week on my days off and have to grab a few bits in town at lunch time. I am a woman on my own and they have always made me feel welcome whilst I can relax have a few drinks in peace and wait for my Uber! They always say "welcome back"
Manager should be so proud ! Thank you,!
Also great simple menu!
D. P.
Bit more international selection of beers than the normal Head of Steam. Prefer the northern menus and selection of beers but that also could be due to the price. Prices are typical of Birmingham's city centre but over £6 a pint is a bit rich for me. Very nice beer though.
S. B.
Cool place, went to the one in Cardiff last month and thought we would try the Brum one, nice BUT why is everything £2 dearer than in Cardiff?
T. S.
I love this place. It seems you can go here for anything. Relaxed after work catch up, watching the footie/sport and wicked nights out!!! The selection of craft beers and drinks is amazing and the general atmosphere is great. A credit to the socialising scene of Birmingham!!!!! 5 stars!!!!
S. P.
What a great pub, the range of beers is amazing. If you like craft ales then this is a must visit. Decent place to watch football and grab a decent burger as well. One of the best pubs in Birmingham has to be.
L. D.
Had an amazing time at HOS! The drinks and food were great and Kylie who ended up serving me almost all night was so friendly, bubbly and smiley. A really welcoming atmosphere and excellent staff especially Kylie! Will definitely return.
s. u.
Popped in with my wife, two young sons and father for a couple of pick-me-ups. We weren't the typical clientele in a trendy craft ale place like this of a Saturday avo but the staff couldn't have friendlier and the beers couldn't have been tastier. Central Brum's best bar. Highly recommend.
R. M. (.
Google maps show this as a rock bar, it isn't a rock bar. They have Motorhead ale on tap at the time of this review but that's it. The music is mixed, while there I heard blues, indie, other... the bar staff were polite enough, an excellent selection of drinks, clean, nice crowd, just.. not a rock bar.
When we sat down we heard a dj talking, turns out it was a pub quiz being planned. We saw no signs for it and it wasn't mentioned to us by bar staff, bit odd, we would have loved to have joined in. A shame.
R. M.
Good place for the real drinkers, good selection of drinks, 👍👍
T. H. J.
Just popped in for a quick one after work.
Quick service, friendly staff, lovely beer.
Food looked good going out, though I didn't have any. I'll be back!
S. M.
Great drink selection available to suit all tastes, especially those who like a craft beer/lager. Booked a table for the Rugby, paid a deposit which was refunded as a bar tab. Good atmosphere although it does get busy so if you want to guarantee a space i'd book ahead!
I. C.
Huge range of beers, superbly friendly staff with tonnes of local knowledge about other great bars and keen to share their recommendations.
No chef on a Monday though.
M.
Dogs are allowed in, which is great
Drinks are pretty good and staff members are friendly
But they're supposed to have food till 9 pm everyday as it says on their menu, but they didn't have food around 7 yesterday for some reason🤷♀️
C. K.
Nice bar with a good selection of drinks. There is a nice large open front seating area which is great for if the weather's a but warmer. Then the inside is warmer and the bar goes quite far back. Nice building and a unique theme for Birmingham. Reasonable prices and well worth a visit. Be warned though I visited in a Tuesday evening and there was a very very loud quiz going on, had to shout to talk to each other. Great decor and worth a visit.
M. L.
Great bar and amazing choice of beers including a number of Belgium beers I haven't seen in the UK outside of specialist pubs.
M. B.
Great cocktails, great selection of craft beers. Friendly staff and good service.
T. M.
Expensive but really good beer selection.
They have a great range of craft beers, but be aware they are £6 to £8 a pint.
V. L.
Really good night out. Definitely worth a visit. Great atmosphere good food and drinks.
h. s.
Fun decor.Great service one beer slightly past its best swiftly exchanged with no arguments.Good choice of craft beers. Coffee machine not working but instant made f.o.c . Nice whiskey with it.
The burger im told was good but my wrap was very dry . It needed cooked peppers and onions in it or some sort of sauce.
Overall still very good, spent all evening and will go again.
M. A.
Wonderful staff, fabulous selection of drink, great food and a truly relaxing atmosphere. I love it and I hoghly recommend going since its opened ive been 3 times and it takes me 40 mins to get to brum!! Well worth it. The picture with the pie has a few elements missing as I didnt fancy them but everything else was just incredible
R. L.
Fabulous choice of craft and ales!!
E.
Not a bad word to say about this place! Customer service is second to none, very attentive and quick. Drinks are delicious and atmosphere is great. Would highly recommend
C. W.
Went for a post work drink. Was really impressed with the selection of beers available. Some I hadn't seen anywhere else.
The prices can be a bit steep, it would be good if there was a list available with current beers and prices for different measurements.
I think they have them online but when you're at the bar it's good to know.
Great atmosphere as well, really enjoyed our short stay but will be visiting again
R. A.
Great range of Ales / Craft beer. Tried a few of each, good condition and Vegan pizza very nice too. Staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Pub itself very well presented, all in all a good experience.
D. M.
Great bar with a good atmosphere. Wide selection of drinks and delicious food. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
M. U.
Akin to HOS Liverpool. Fantastic craft ale range. Fantastic service. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff! We had the La Chouffe and Vault City: SDIPA Strata sour double ipa
D.
What a amazing place this is. Mark was a great guy who looked after me and the wife talking about the great drink experience at this place. I recommend this place to everyone definitely enjoyed and recommend.
J. L.
3 stars would be harsh but I feel 4 is also slightly generous. Toilets were falling apart they really need some tlc. Beer on offer is pretty good could be better.
W. Y.
Average sports bar
Edit: I was reached out about my review above. So I will provide some more detail about my visit.
I did not manage to try any craft beers while I was there, atmosphere was good. Football was on at the time. I ordered and got swift service. All in all a good experience.
M. T.
This place is awesome if you love a good drink with great company. It has an extensive selection of caft beers, ales and cocktails served by friendly and attentive bar-staff. They usually have great music playing in the background so it is a superb for a pre-drink night out. At quieter times in the week it is perfect for a relaxed post-work drink or two with friends.
Cannot fault this place!
K. M.
It was a very quiet Sunday evening at about 7pm when we went in, so difficult to judge what it would be like at busier times. Very pleasant surroundings (in a sort of industrial/railway theme), good selection of craft beers (including cans of what is on tap to take away, should you wish to do so) and, helpful bar staff.
b. m.
This is my type of bar great seating area great choice of Belgian beers 🍻 we didn't eat but the food looked and smelled great 👍
K. C.
Passed by this place many, many times but went in for am after-work pint with a colleague and it has a pod atmosphere and we'll spaced out without feeling claustrophobic inside. Will definitely return to try more of the cask ales.
N. M.
Great bar. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent range of beers
K. L.
Nice pub, table of 6 ordered food and I was unfortunately last to eat (lady had forgetten to put it through) I went to the bar and smoke to a man, he was very apologetic and asked if I'd like a drink whilst waiting (offered me anything)
Food came quickly after and it was great! Looked and tasted soo good!
L. P.
Amazing beer with some brilliant service from Lauren, she gave us great recommendations. Would come again
K. B.
Great atmosphere and selection of draft beers as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff.
A. G.
It's okay. Decent enough choice of beer (though a pity the options on either side of the bar are 90% duplicated) the food menu whist I've not tried it looks decent (traditional pub light meals and bar snacks with a modern twist) and the beer is well kept. (photo: Kirkstall Brewery Ryeotous , 6.7%). Prices on a par with Birmingham, which is slowly creeping up generally across all venues. It's just under a tenner for two pints on average.
Please though if you read this, HoS, do something about the beer flies at the rear of the bar (at their worst along the booths on the back wall) - they're gross and becoming a nuisance! 👎
m.
Glass that was obviously dirty, was told I was rude. What is rude is being given a glass that was obviously dirty. It was rectified at no complaint but recieved no apology, now that is rude. I would still go here as despite this it was a lovely place to drink, I'm hoping this makes a change and is not seen as a complaint.
D. G.
Opened in last year. Huge place with countless beers on tap. Pics are of the entry drinking area. It was Monday 10pm so v quiet
R. M.
Went on a bank holiday Sunday, good choice of beers and wines, will visit again
I. J.
It's very nice place, good atmosphere and tasty food. It gets really cold though when they keep the door open.
V. W.
Huge selection of beers, bit expensive but you get what you pay for here. Brilliant spacious venue. Highly recommend the Stay Puft porter 😁
S. M.
Popular, therefore busy and loud, but excellent range of beers and ales. Definitely one for the real ale fan 🍻
W. H.
A fine selection of drinks (mainly draft beers) and food. Thought very hard about giving it 5 stars but, the bizarre way in which the menu on their app doesn't match what is truly available (for me at least), and the larger than anticipated chunck out of my personal finances keeps me rating no higher than 4 stars. Still would recommend however!
N. J.
Large pub with cracking atmosphere. Nice pint and none of the mainline beers!
A. C.
Fantastic bar with a great selection of beers and ales. Perfect for a match day, or a few swift pints before a night out. Always a great variety of people and fantastic atmosphere that comes with.
m. p.
Popped in on my lunch hour for pint and bite to eat. Food was spot on, good value too.
M. R.
Warm, sociablezinviting bar. Great range of drinks, food available and live sports too.
G. P.
A mid-afternoon drink on a Tuesday so not heaving (that suited us). Good attentive and helpful staff and a lovely selection of beers and drinks. Would recommend, but not on a Friday/Saturday night (but each to their own).
S. A.
Didn't open on time but other than that a very nice bar with a good beer selection
J. T.
Not my favourite bar in Brum, but always visit if we're in town doing some shopping. Quiet and chilled in the daytime, gets very busy in the evening though just like most other city centre bars
G. G.
Great selection of beers, very friendly staff
S. R.
Great beer, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
S. A.
Beautiful bar. Good food, freshly cooked. Great selection of drinks and cocktails.
R. C.
Beer was good and so was the burger, I had the gyro. Would recommend.
S. F.
Really, really nice aesthetic and good "background" music, as in, I could hear my friends but the music that was on, wasn't terrible. Most drinks out of stock and they were charging £3.80 for a bottle of budwiser. Not a pint, just a bottle. Would be 5 star if it was reasonably priced. Just another reason I don't drink in brum.
J. C.
I enjoyed this pub a lot. They have a great Belgiam beer selection, including Delirium Red draught... I even bought some more Delirium beer to take back home.
j. k.
Our first time at this place pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and vibe. Friendly staff and a great choice of drinks would definitely recommend.
S. B.
Had a lovely time, special thanks to Kylie who helped out and was amazing :)
L. W.
Great beers, great food and friendly staff
B. W.
I really liked the look of this place, service was timely, food was reasonably priced and was okay. I'd go again, Maybe for drinks rather than food. Not sure on their definition of a "sandwich".
G. F.
Excellent beers and food with friendly staff
J. K.
It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of drinking in HOS (it was pre-COVID). My previous comments still apply - some of the best beer and music choice in Birmingham city centre - now with an app for table service! Get on down!
P. A.
Plenty of beer and plenty going on. Great barman looked after us
J. S.
Great choice of beers - cans, bottles and draft. Friendly helpful staff. American menu, haven't tried the food so can't comment
V. R.
Huge range of beers.
Very nice place.
E. H.
Friendly service, food bit limited on choice and average quality.
K. G.
Kylie is an amazing server she made our night, for our friend's birthday special. Lovely service, even though they were very busy and we had to wait a while between ordering. Kylie was lovely and we had a great night!.. Other servers weren't as good.. Sometimes they ran out of the drinks.. Kylie made us a 'Kylie special' we felt valued as customers.. Would definitely recommend, if Kylie serves you, bonus!!
D. D.
Large selection of ales and lagers all on display. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will be visiting again.
J. N.
Unusual to find a Camerons pub this far from their North East stronghold. Excellent pint(s) of Bread and Butter from the Vocation Brewery based in Hebden Bridge. It's 3.9% but tastes as if it's much stronger. Staff are attentive, efficient and friendly. Please open a pub in Bournemouth.
j. B.
Very busy, good range of beers and efficient service .
J. H.
Great selection of quality beers. So a little more expensive but, again you pay for what you get. We had 3 tapas with 3 taster beers that matched the food for £16, that was very tasty. We still required a pudding to fill us up but still I thing good value. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to give you samples so you can find the right beer for the moment. Will visit again.
M.
An eclectic bar located in the centre of Birmingham. Fairly reasonable prices. Closes early during the week.
A. F.
Great place, nice and busy atmosphere inside. Great selection of craft beers. I loved the siren beer! Only down side is that it was on the expensive side, however I suppose that's what you get for Birmingham city centre and such a good selection! Would definitely recommend.
A. B.
If you are enjoying yourself drinking a beer it's highly recommended :)
L. P.
A great selection of beers including Delirium Red on draught! 😍 #GetWrecked
M. F.
Nice to find some hidden gems. Follow the pink elephant 👍
M. S.
Nice bar if not a bit expensive but then again it is in centre of brum.
Would have got more stars if not for the rude waitress (the one in a pinkish top that was on duty Saturday night)
a. g.
Expensive. But nice atmosphere and great staff. And Steady Rolling Man on draught!
b. s.
Always great service, good food and good atmosphere. Value for money and have had great bar service from Lewis . Staff are very friendly. Highly recommend this bar.
T. R.
Great pub with a really good selection of beers. Always a good shout for watching football/rugby. Staff are very accommodating and friendly
H. N.
Great deal ale bar. Now with cocktails. Decent bar nibbles as well. One of my fave Central Brum pubs
M. M.
Good pub with lots of different beers.
J. S.
Been in a few times recently. Not cheap but a huge selection of drinks on draught. Good atmosphere, friendly staff.
J. A.
Great selection of ales and has a great atmosphere
L. C.
Great place to chill. Food looked amazing and we would have stayed had we not have booked a meal elsewhere. Will definitely go back soon.
J. W.
Could not find any empty seats although it was not busy beer choices not to my liking but probably OK
H. P.
My sister now lives in Birmingham and introduced us to this place when we visited. This pub is fab! Fantastic range of drinks, especially if you like beers and craft beers, great food, really tasty and reasonably priced. Hubby and I went back the week after as we had some time to kill before a concert, again even though it was nearly Christmas and the pub was packed, we were served quickly and the food was excellent. Highly recommended!
I. C.
Great place here. Good selection of ales.
L.
Nice bar, food was average. bit dead on a Sunday, good selection of beers and staff were friendly. Nothing ruined the night, but we weren't blown away either.
We thought there was a fail compilation on the TV which might have swung the balance, but it was just a Fiat advert, would probably go back cos it's a pretty safe bet
M. T.
New kid on the block serving a wide variety of beers on tap or in bottle. The beer menu gives a full listing of what's available and worth looking at. 3 Belgian beers on tap is a bonus that is rare to find in the city. Friendly staff who are quick and polite. Food is excellent and a quick waiting time even on Saturday. Can get busy when there's football showing as the screens are located by the bar so not easy to reach. Still recommend visiting due to the wide selection of beers available
C. T.
Excellent beer tasting with the manager, Adam.
I recently attended an after-work beer tasting and food event at Head of Steam. I was expecting to receive mini-pint “samplers” of one, but was happily wrong. Adam walked the group through the various beers, providing great tasting sizes. The variety of beers was also great. Ended up finding a new style that I really enjoyed!
Definitely recommend as a fun event with a group. If you go on a Tuesday, it’s quiz night.
K. T.
First time visit. I wanted to order a burger but with topped chips instead of plain. I was told this wouldn't be possible and so I had to order them separately with a view to sharing the plain ones (and paying more than was necessary) - when the topped chips arrived they were just normal fries with a sauce, a sprinkle of something else and pickles so not sure why the difficulty. Also had problems waiting to be served and the food took some time to arrive. It was definitely more of a rowdy pub atmosphere than somewhere to enjoy a meal with friends however I have given 3 stars because the food was nice and there was a quiz on when we arrived so may be the reason for the noise and lack of seating. Wasn't an excuse for my waiting at the bar though as it was quiet - I was just ignored.
V. C.
Lovely quality food in here and a good vibe. Was able to get in no problem on a Friday night with group of 16.
A. W.
Great selection of beers and spirits. Nice place, great music but a bit noisy. Almost like a pub of two halves, main bar with loads of standing room, a few bar stools and also table's and chairs. Lower level by front doors has Bavarian beer hall style benches and table's.
S. D. C.
Great place service good smashing cocktails
A. M.
Dog friendly ☺️. Lovely staff. Decent food
L. C.
Loved this bar! Very funky massive loads of tables. Great choice of drinks too!
D. R.
Absolutely loved it in here, so many amazing beers on tap and the bottle list is insane. The staff knew their stuff, the atmosphere was great. We ordered food, the burgers were fairly standard fayre but nothing wrong with that. Would go back anytime.
C. L.
Great Vibe Great Beer, Cheery Beer is amazing 😀
C. S.
A great place to meet in town with a good selection of drinks - if you can get served at the bar. Loads of TVs dotted around usually showing football etc and plays a good selection of music. Toilets are good but there's a couple of urinals and a couple of cubicals which I would argue are nowhere near enough to cater for the volumes of people that go there on a Friday night.
P. K.
Great pub, serves the real ale and craft aficionados as well as the lager boors.
L.
Great bar, lots of seating.
A. G.
Great range of beers, decent food. Nice atmosphere.
c. w.
My first visit. Shall definitely be returning
P. V.
Reasonable selection of Belgian beers, but very few German beers. Also background music too loud had to shout at each other.
R. G.
Pretty cool place we went for a friends birthday on a busy Saturday afternoon(Grand National day) but we did find a little area we could all stand together in. The service was excellent with hardly any wait at all despite how busy it was. My only problem once again with pubs and bars In town is the prices it’s madness I paid just short of £50 for 4 G&T’s and a pint of cider which is too much.
A. F.
Rosie was brilliant and helped reserve an area that comfortably seats 30 people for a birthday party on Saturday, just up from main bar area and behind the DJ. Well worth it, had some food delivered. People respected the reserved sign and had a brilliant evening with a great choice of drinks with a good fun ambience in the venue.
U. T. V.
Great music, food and service from Shania!!
D. Y.
Always a great place to have a few beers. What a selection they have! And such great bar staff, really knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere. Next time i’ll need to try the food
S. D.
Nice choice of drinks but out of the 2 times I've bought food it's been pretty naff. Chicken kebab and onion rings, both rock solid. Chips were nice though
D. J.
Good selection of beers 🍺🍻
B. V.
Very convenient location in a popular area. If in large groups it's better to book ahead which is what we did and enjoyed a private area just a few steps up from the bar. Great service, yummy food and a wide variety of drinks. They make really good cocktails!
S. C.
Really good craft beer / real ale! Unusual for a bar to serve such a good selection of both keg and cask. Also: they're just the nicest bunch of people.
G. E.
Busy bar but friendly efficient service
T. B.
Popped in for a pint while in Birmingham for a work event. Great bar. Good beer selection and a buzzing atmosphere.
Nathan on the door was great, really friendly and good chat.
S.
Imperial baltic porter - try this beer while you can! Limited edition (Y)
D. C.
Very nice visited on a bar hop last Saturday with our group would recommend !
R. P.
Spent my birthday here with the wife my bro and his better half fantastic place with a great atmosphere, with a excellent selection of craft ales. We all throughly enjoyed our night next time I will have too sample the food which also looked great. A must visit when on a night out in brum.
S. R.
A strong selection of beer across cask/keg/bottle/can.
Beer and cocktail bibles are out on tables for you to check out.
It is a verified venue on Untappd so users can check out beer menus with prices. Be warned though that they may struggle to keep these updated during peak times.
Wait times at the bar can get pretty long when it's busy too.
R. S.
Wow. Amazing place, with such a cool, pop rock music, great atmosphere, food by the book (the onion rings were phenomenal, and usually I leave them aside), and the selection of beers on the tap is the best I have ever seen. The milky stout was ridiculously good.
S. ?.
Delicious, juicy burgers served in a generous portion. Make sure you take a stroll after to burn off the calories.
V. L.
Good food, nice seating areas. Saw the euro finals here! So good for sports events as well.
J. H. (.
Brilliant new pub in the heart of Birmingham serving good food and having an excellent selection of ales on tap and in bottles. They can accommodate parties and it's a great place to meet up with friends after work in very comfortable surroundings!
C. T.
Awesome selection of Beers. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not the cheapest mind, that being said however, I don't think you'll mind that bit extra for excellent beer.
A.
Huge selection of beers (ales, lagers, pilsners, stouts, the lot) served from a large central bar by friendly staff. I've eaten there before too, decent steak. Some big screens for sports too.
Gets very busy and there's not actually a huge amount of seating for couples, lots of large long benches for groups.
Would be 5* but five and a half quid for a pint of Sagres Portuguese lager is a bit steep, especially when I can get Sharps Pilsner in Purnells up the road for less!
O. L.
Good selection of beers, staff seem nice enough and willing to help out.
T. S.
Nice if you like different beers ,modern pub good for younger people
N. B.
Great bar, loads of interesting nooks and crannies, friendly staff, superb beers on tap, nice music policy and delicious pizza. We hired the top room and had a great night 10/10.
K. B.
Exceptional range of beers, wonderful atmosphere and very well managed while I was there. Food options are very good and the choice for vegetarians and vegans is extensive which is good to see.
J. D.
Really like it here. Big space. Amazing range of beer. Very very busy on a Friday after work. Once booked a space for a leaving do and the staff were really helpful.
J. W.
Good beer, reasonable music. Staff member was rude and quite patronising to my party and others around. Will likely avoid in future. 3 stars because the range available is huge which makes a change to most bars in brum.
B. C.
The Head of Steam has quietly and quickly become one of my favourite boozers in the city centre.
The overall aesthetic strikes a nice balance between industrial and modern, with ample seating arrangements to cater for any size group. Food wise, the menu is varied enough to suit most tastes with each of the meals I've tried having been well worth the money.
As for drinks, the Head of Steam has one of the most extensive selections I have seen in Brum, with a solid lineup of rotating craft beers and ales across all ends of the spectrum. The range of house beers and spirits don't let the side down for those who aren't there for the craft scene as well.
One thing that keeps me coming back is the overall calibre of the staff. Everyone I have been served by at the Head of Steam has been nothing but accomodating and always down for a bit of a chat. The floor staff have been equally pleasant; maintaining a tidy bar and banter without being obtrusive at tables.
If you're in town, I'd definitely recommend the Head of Steam for a couple of cheeky ones on your lunch break, or a decent session after hours!
M.
Great, new place in Birmingham serving a huge range of craft beers from all over the world. Including some of the stronger from Belgium and Luxembourg on tap. Lots of Trappist beers ranging through different strengths and sizes. CAMRA card works, but only on a few select beers and isn't a great discount, but it all adds up.
Plenty of dogs, plug sockets, booths, stalls and shows sports throughout the day but only on a small tv so doesn't matter if it's not your thing.
T.
Large selection of reassuringly expensive drinks. Great atmosphere and location.
T. B.
Perhaps I'm slightly biased, we won the launch night competition and were treated to free food and drink all night! But we'll definitely be coming back for more, great selection of beers (very wide ranging to cater for crafty drinkers like me to your lager drinker to your cocktail drinker), including a very extensive Belgian beer list and can list which I hope they rotate regularly.
Setting was warm, interesting and Brum'ified to make it feel local.
The calimari were thick, crispy and nommy. Then my big burger was very tasty and you can always appreciate crispy sweet potato fries! Didnt feel just like bar that did food, so an great all rounder.
Obviously everything was free but noticed the prices were maybe on the high side, but being slap bang in the middle of town what do you expect.
R. G.
Good selection of beers, can get busy but that's to be expected. Really think they ought to have beer prices listed somewhere, I remember the shock of being told my pint of 5.6% brown ale was going to be £7.50
D. S.
Great place to unwind with fantastic staff great beer selection cask craft also cans couldn't wish for better
C. R.
Awesome beer selection
A. M.
Nice place, but pretty expensive. Good selection of beer too, but I've been a couple of times now and it's been mostly empty with very little atmosphere.
K. C.
There is great selection of beers, good location great size venue the staff were well knowledge about the products and cocktails. Even the other guests were friendly and engaging will be back for sure,
B. M.
Great selection of main meals from pizzas to stock bar food. All reasonably priced with a sizeable portion if veggies on the side. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.
J. C.
Lovely little pub in Birmingham, a little bit pricey, but good atmosphere and great cocktails
R. B.
Omg I had the hotdog! It was the naughtiest food ever! Vegetarian hotdog in bread dough deep fried 😱 I asked for mine with onions and US cheese sauce should have skipped the sauce it was totally unnecessary and took up half the plate. The hot dog was just so tasty! I had to ask for onions which I recommend. Good company, nice place friendly staff. Would have been 5 star but couldn't find a cocktail menu for love nor money on a cocktail 241 hour. 🤷♀️
V.
Nice new venue, very clean. Loud tunes, great food and wide selection of craft ales and beers. Bustling and busy in the evenings, but service is good and on point. Recommended!
S. R.
Good pub with a wide choice of cask and craft ales. Decent priced menu. Unfortunately on our visit an over the top quiz (Tuesday) so left after 1 beer and some food
M. L.
Great new bar that's a mix between urban chic and trainspotter. A massive selection of drinks on the taps and screens displaying less well known offerings. Looks like a reasonable menu with the usual burgers and pizzas etc. At the front there is a sort of indoor-outdoor space then inside it gets much bigger and keeps going back around a central bar. Agree with others that the music was a bit too loud when we went after work on a Friday.
J. R.
Had lunch here and it was relaxed, great service and food was fab. Highly recommend.
D.
Great pub with decent pricing, I love the layout and atmosphere. They don't charge an insane amount for soft drinks like their competitors too, which I really appreciate!
G. N.
Great selection of beers and the food was good, would have been 5 stars if the meals had come out at the same time, definitely worth a visit!
K. R.
So, it's a real ale bar with a large selection of other drinks. But, this is a bar so expect music and dancing and all that comes with it!
Not really one for the CAMRA crowd unless you fancy the above!
S. T.
Good bar.
Very busy when I visited but enough bar staff were working in order to get through the queues for drinks without too much delay.
Great place to watch sport.
N. T.
Fantastic bar, with live music, a large outdoor, but indoor, seating area, as well as a large bar area. Very good selection of beers spirits etc. Staff are friendly and helpful. Love this place.
P. H.
Met here for a the rugby on Saturday afternoon and was very busy but the bar staff was fast and friendly!
will come back.
ps any chance of live music on a Sunday??
I. F.
Great place. Lovely selection of ales.
g. h.
Great place to visit. Plenty of ales to choose from and big screens showing the football. Can get very busy on an evening but definitely worth a visit. Can have food too, it has the lot.
K. P.
Pretty good place, but has become pricey offlate. The app doesn't work and would need to take a manual order.
M. B.
Great beer selection and staff are good. Feels busy even when it is quiet(ish) and you have to push past people. Music unnecessary loud and inhibitive of conversation.
T. B.
Always something out of stock, nice otherwise
B. L.
The beer selection (cask and keg) is first rate. However it gets way too busy and the music is overpowering. Ate here today and the food was delicious.
J. C.
£6.30 for a pint... Need I say more?
P. O.
Pub nice just happened to come across it great female staff sadly they were being verbally abused by some numpty while the football was on but the girls were very professional. Will be going back great sambucca and female staff. Nice relaxing pub
J. M.
The Strongarm was a bit too cold. Lovely bar though.....

Great range of beer, but pricey!
P. R.
Brilliant pub with excellent choice of beers/drinks. Enjoyed Belgium Boon geuze. "On my" must visit list when in Birmingham.
C. W.
Awful techno music on a Friday. Wants to be a circuit pub unlike all theothers in the chain. Pubs are for drinking not for playing lousy music no one is taking any notice of
H. T.
Friendly staff. Great interior design lovely atmosphere
W. R.
Great choice of pumps and taps, loads more in the fridge. Great food: good honest pub grub, but fresh, top quality, done properly. 😋
J. T.
Solid place for a beer and they have a good selection, but atmosphere wasn't amazing and it was too bright. Probably a place to go before a night out
S. J.
Great beer, aggressively loud. If you like to appreciate your drink without hearing the person next to you speak, this place is perfect.
W. M.
Good all round sports bar with food to suit all including an extensive vegan selection. Drinks to cover every taste.
M. P.
Great selection of beers and like the décor but let down on my last two visits by the addition of a DJ playing so loud I had to shout to the bar staff and we had to sit downstairs by the front to have a conversation and with the choice of bars these days I haven't been back because of the broad st trashy loud means good djs
S.
Great venue. Great location easy to find
Reasonably priced
Staff super helpful friendly
J. S.
Nice selection of good tasting beers. However, the selection of bar food was disappointing e.g £10 nachos that was light on cheese, dips and jalapeno!
M. B.
Loved visiting this bar, great location near town, got very busy but was able to be served relatively quick, my only gripe was the lack of knowledge the staff had when it came to the beers they had on tap, 1 barman told me they only had 1 sour beer left and the rest were canned but 6 taps away there was 1.
m. m.
Great place but drinks are expensive
R. B.
Didn't eat but the ales were lovely with a great atmosphere
N. S.
Good beer selection but loud. Too loud. Flatters a bit, not as good as microbrewery options. Corporate representation of craft beer movement.
G. U.
Great selection and atmosphere. Some of the 'special' beers get very expensive but that's to be expected.
i. C.
Great addition to the birmingham pub scene. Great selection of beers served by knowledgeable staff.
