Visited last Saturday night for some food with family. Not local at all but was in the area so popped In for some food and was pleasantly surprised. Food was top tier spoons quality. The staff were really nice and friendly. Who I assume to be the manager was very customer based and gave a great impression as did the rest of the staff on.

Very nice place food was hot and tasty. l asked for a cup of hot water for .y own tea and the barman got it for me free of charge. The last in a wetherspoons l got charged a pound, so it was very nice not to be charged. Nice Staff and friendly people who were having breakfast there.

First time in a long time in the hornet and after earlier being in the bishop vesey boldmere unfairly I'd say it seems dark and dowdy . But the staff on duty a young girl and lad and a blonde haired more mature lady were extremely efficient and friendly through our visit.. good service

Just down the road from the Tyler, The Hornet was quieter. I liked it. Pleasant staff and very happy locals by sounds of it.

We visited the hornet on several occasions, very quiet pub but they do a great breakfast selection and I would always rate them 7/10. But our last visit the breakfast was horrible, bacon was dry as if it had been left standing for some time, what we ordered wasn't right and I paid extra for the 3 of us to have black pudding omg the first lot not one of us could eat it. It was rock hard and dry brunt to a crisp. They changed it and the second lot was not better. I was never offered any money back for the price of the black pudding. We will try somewhere else next time.

Brilliant boozer, full of top people, have the racing on, how could life be better than that especially on a friday afternoon. Met a top bloke here who was a big wolves fan, if one man could sum up how great a pub is its him. Great carling and micky mouse, very clean and spacious. Staff are beautiful and kind. Also serve a cracking fish and chips, and encourage a culture of drinking which is what every good pub has. Great to see one of the locals telling a young bloke why isn't he drinking at midday on thursday, people like that young lad putting pubs out of business. Was also a big Iron Maiden contingent in here and a lot of hi vis which sums up how much of a top pub it is.

Very friendly staff and overall good service and good quality of food. Manager on duty very chatty and smiley all the time, even at 8 o'clock in the morning, how you do that?! Clean and tidy, but not busy as was early opening hours. Toilets clean and without mold or any damages. Good job, keep up the good work.

Very much a locals wetherspoon with very friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too. Usually quiet in the mornings can get busy in a saturday good covid 19 precautions as you would expect. Feel safe in here despite the appearance and the average age of the clients here is very high for sure.

Food was was nice, but as I was eating I found a hair in the food. Now this happens sometimes I accept that. The waitress was fine, and so was the bar man. After about ten minutes the manager came over with the big fairy attitude, by then the hair was gone along with my appetite. He argued about non of his staff having hair similar of which I described. Anyway I got a 70% refund. Talking to the locals, they says its common.

Had a lovely lunch here today. The pub it's self is not as big as most Wetherspoons, which is good in my opinion. The 2 staff that were on were very nice and polite. There is never enough staff on in Wetherspoons pubs which is not the fault of those that work in these establishments. The Hornet is very clean and we enjoyed our visit.

After being refused food at William Tyler at 10.30pm, i rang these guys and they said they were more than happy to serve us as license for food is till 11pm. Ordered on the app, food came as soon as we arrived, chips were freshly done and panninis were fab! Might make this a more frequent trip on our way home from football training. Just what we needed ❤

The pub is ok as pubs go but disabled toilet needs to be sorted out wee all over the floor from people with keys that shouldn't have, just to lazy to go up stairs. Had trouble with my key last night as someone had broken the lock. Disgusting.

Prone to putting on beers they want to sell, rather than beers we want to drink. No 'Boom Bar' - no 'Abbott'. 'Ruddles' is a different flavours - but if the manager doesn't drink these beers he will either not understand that . . . or maybe not care?

My local, great bunch of lads, staff are all welcoming and friendly, no music or entertainment, but you can watch TV albeit silently. Somewhere to check your bets, have a quiet drink, get to know the regulars, lovely people all round!!

Its a Wetherspoons, so you know exactly what to expect. Yes, it could probably do with a touch up and isn't in a particularly attractive area. But it's well priced grub and ale with good service.

We love our Hornet, but every time we come in our table needs wiping over, the bar is often understaffed, plaster/paint has been spilt on the lovely stairs, it really needs a little more TLC. We still love it.
