Reviews of The Jewellers Arms
T. A.
Corner pub. Comfortable bar with coal fire. Upstairs room + setting out side. 12 real ales on + 2 ciders .atmosphere very good. Black Country plum pig beer excellent. Good service.
M. B.
Traditional pub with excellent choice of ales and bar snacks. Did not try the food, however it certainly looked and smelt good!
R. W.
Really enjoyed our first visit, today, to The Jewellers Arms. What a fabulous choice that was. All those fabulous ales, my choice was Maid Marion. Chose the Steak & Ale homemade Pie, mash plus peas - absolutely delicious. Note, only served daytime. What a friendly, homely pub this is. Needless to say, we will be back.
D. J.
The Jewellers Arms is a traditional English pub still serving great beers in a timeless venue. The staff and the customers are a very friendly bunch so it's well worth a refreshment break if you have been strolling around the Jewellery Quarter.
J. C.
Always a pleasure to visit. Understated, chatty, friendly, and as personal or impersonal as suits. One of my regular haunts.
Great prices on the well-kept beer, too.
R. D.
Well kept real ale in a traditional pub !

Had some food , the 3 bean chilli, was nice but it was that uncle Ben's rice that let it down
M. S.

Proper traditional old pub 5 minute walk from Jewelry qtr station. 12/14 Real Ales available on tap. Small but homely menu - I had a great steak & ale pie - including nice looking cobs. Will definitely be back to sample their Sunday roast.

Very friendly and professional bar staff, a good old fashioned proper pub which we seem to be lacking of here in our great city.

No exaggeration, likely one of the best pubs in the country, great ales 👍🍻

Lovely pint of chain ale on draft too x
j.
Good pub, great lager. Following social distancing guidelines with hand sanitizer available and employees keeping their distance. First time here and I'll definitely be back! Outdoor area is large and doesn't stink of cigarettes.
P. H.
A traditional pub in a traditional area. Comfortable and welcoming. Recently been refurbished. The landlord and barmaid are very chatty......ask them how to deal with an alligator. They have a quiz night once a month. All in all a great pub with no loud music, or large TVs dominating the lounge bar. Oh and the beer is excellent
S. B.
good traditional pub, very welcoming and full of history. Dog friendly
P. T.
Very nice pub now its been refurbished. Large range of ales to chose from. Great atmosphere and lovely cobs. Customers range from passers by, local shop workers, builders and craftsmen. Nice staff who offer a friendly welcome. Lovely place for a drink or bite to eat at any time of the day. I pop in frequently as its my favourite pub in the area although I also like the Rose Villa and Red Lion but they don't offer the range of ales the jewellers does. 5 stars.
I. M.
Wide selection of beers and food friendly staff
S. B.
Nice friendly pub in Hockley, Birmingham. Good atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. These include a wide variety of local beers brewed roundabout. Excellent menu with meals served by welcoming friendly staff. Would highly recommend if you fancy something to eat and drink that is not too pricey and is quality.
S. H. (.
Great beer, lovely pub.
L. G.
Lovely pub, a real traditional 'pub' feel. I nip in on a lunch time and they're always open on time. Great selection of ales, the black country ales are great which they always seem to have on as regular ales, the BFG is a must try!
A.
I really liked this pub, it's what I call a proper pub. Wooden traditional fittings and fixtures, there's a small rear garden and some seating at the front. Friendly staff, really liked how the landlady called me "sugar", just how pubs used to be. There's a small range of beers on draught, a decent range of spirits and they have proper cheese rolls on the bar. Prices were reasonable too. A nice place for a few jars with friends, and a nice welcome. Will definitely return.
M. H.
Called in today for a pint and lunch. This is the first time since its closure. I must say that the choice of real ales is excellent. The interior has been intensively improved, so much more space and comfort. The staff were very helpful with beer suggestions. My lunch was a very tasty cheese and onion cob. Some choice of hot meals but chips are not served.
P. C.
Visited the JQ on Friday and discovered this gem of a little pub. Absolutely beautifully refurbished, brimming with unique features and historical pictures. The choice of craft beers is plentiful and can highly recommend the golden duck. As the weather was sunny and warm we choose to sit outside and despite been on a street corner, the traffic at lunchtime was minimal. Heaven! The food was home made, served hot, tasty and plentiful. An absolute pleasure to eat and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this pub for a visit. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The next time I'm down from Yorkshire I will definitely return to this pub. A must go to for anybody want good service, drink and food on the JQ area. 👍
O. D.
Excellent home cooked food Sunday lunch very warm and friendly atmosphere great staff lovely ales and red wine
W. H.
What a great little pub! Fine selection of drinks available (primarily for the beer drinker) and all at very reasonable prices. So much so, my darts aim was becoming dangerously wayward by the end...
j. j.
Good honest beer and friendly service.
K. P.
Lovely pub. Good friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere.
S. B.
We came here last Saturday lovely staff lovely food we be coming again thank you so much
p. d.
Great place , good selection of ales and cider and cobs were delicious
H. J.
This is a cosy pub with an old fashioned feel. The staff are friendly and obliging.Even though the hot food had finished, the barmaid asked if it was possible to cook me something and everything was available except for the steak pie which they had run out of.Had sausage and mash which was lovely. If you've been out for the day in the jewellery quarter,a visit to this pub will round off your visit very nicely. Also various cobs etc behind the bar.
S. M.
Lovely place, lovely atmosphere and lovely owners x
S. P.
Been renovated since I last went, quite tastefully I might add. I assume it's changed hands and is now a backcountry brewery pub with a selection of real ales on tap. Seemed friendly and welcoming.
M. C.
Very conveniently located traditional pub handy for the local jewellery shops. Very friendly hosts offering a good range of traditional fayre. An interesting variety of guest ales offered with display screen lists of the qualities and gravity of each. We enjoyed our visit.

Jewellers arms is a real "gem". Delicious, home cooked food. My only criticism is, it would be nice if the pie was served with some veg. Otherwise it was perfect. Excellent selection of well kept real ales too. Will definitely be going back.
E. W.

P. M.
Great pub, great beer, great staff.
N. M.

N. G.
Overwhelmed with amount of rings in the shops? Very nice bar with excellent cobs and beer, just what is needed! Visit this pub if your nearby because its places like these that should be saved!
S.
Fantastic Pub - Especially if you like real ale. This is how all small local pubs could/should be if wasn’t for PUBCOs screwing the life out them.
Black Country Ales have breathed new life into this pub, wide selection of beers from BCA as well as from other independents.
There were some great looking cobs on offer too.
J. D.
Love this pub. Our son has just moved in nearby so we go in when we visit. Very clean nice atmosphere and very friendly management that run the bar. Lovely dog too.
C. A.
Lovely atmosphere. Great selection of ales. Friendly staff.
M. E.
My pub when I used to work near by. I could see the pub from work and I and few work mates would even phone our orders in before getting there. Just so we'd gave more drinking time. Many a happy day was spent here. Great place with great food and drink too.
T. V.
This pub has recently been renovated and boasts a wide range of quality ales. You will also get a warm welcome from the Landlord. Well worth a visit.

Have been coming here on and off for 20+yrs and the place looked tired. The transformation is amazing! Range of beers great as well. Best ham cobs around too.
P. R.
Just a brilliant pub for the real ale drinker and everyone else. 9 ales on hand pump. Comfortable excellent pub. Highly recommended
J. D.
Lovely modernish not modernist, still feels like a pub pub. Great range on tap, enclosed smoking area, darts, spot on. Best wishes to the staff and boss, thank you!
G. L.
Very nice, traditional local pub, with fire. Doesn't appear to sell much food, except baguettes, but the range of drinks is good & there is a friendly atmosphere. :)
M. T.
Now owned by Black Country Ales and having a recent revamp this is worth a visit if in The Jewelry Quarter. They are a charitable bunch of folk - bring your own favourite cheese and share with others who have done the same - accompanied with the finest bread this side of the English Channel - if you just happen to drop in, you are welcome to enjoy the cheeses provided you make a donation to a charitable cause that is being supported - great sense of community - takes place the second Thursday of each month - very well done 👌

Really enjoyed my visit to this pub just before Christmas. Felt very welcome and it is dog friendly which is a bonus to me. The food was of excellent quality and at a very reasonable price. The pub was very comfortable and it had been decorated recently which was very relaxing. Will be visiting this pub next time that I am in the area and recommend visiting this pub
