Great drinks selection and good food menu. We went for an Ubu & Coors while browsing the menu, in a nice quiet corner of the pub. Lovely decor and a nice fire to keep warm. We decided on the seabass each, with lemon butter and a side of cauliflower cheese and steamed greens. Very tasty and great value for money! Food arrived within 15 minutes and was delicious. We did have to ask for cutlery at the bar after our food arrived, but not a big deal at all. Will love to visit again when in the area.

Very friendly staff, food was good. I went for the Special Offer Sunday lunch & was very nice. I found the seating very comfortable. Negative point was the Toilet is up Stairs, they were clean & tidy. Would definitely visit the Pub again.

Absolutely love this place!! Just came back from having a beautiful meal here. I had the steak and guinness pie with a side order of cauliflower cheese and my hubby had the beef chilli and rice. Fabulous!! I really mean that. We've been only a few times this year and honestly everytime it's been top jolly food. The prices are fantastic, I don't know how they do it! Gorgeous food for really reasonable prices! The team are just lovely, always accommodating, nothing is any trouble just salt of the earth wonderful people. The beer is lovely . 18 of us came for my partners birthday meal with his family. Everyone of us enjoyed our meals, the chefs and bar staff were brilliant with us and very patient considering it was quite busy, plus another huge table they had to sort out. Had a lovely family meal here 11th December. The ribs were particularly a favourite with us but everyone enjoyed what the had. Service was a little slow but it is leading up to Christmas. We were really cosy by the flame effect fire and would go here again

Love this place haven't been In a couple of years since moving out of brum but my grandad Barry is a regular . I always used to have the meal that was potato with black pudding . What was this can someone tell me ? It was amazing and I'd like to be able to have it again . Although I don't live in brum anymore I always highly recommend this place and can't wait to return . Brilliant, myself and two other ladies ordered the trio of meats Sunday lunch, unfortunately there was only enough meat available for two of us so one of the meals was replaced with scampi & chips. Food was well presented and cooked beautifully. Lady who served us was very friendly and asked if we had enjoyed our meal. We all had apple pie with custard for dessert . Will definitely be taking a walk down to the pub again SOON.

The posh fish and chips are wonderful. A very friendly venue with excellent food for the price. Well worth a visit. They have some good red wines as well. If you want a large party the skittle alley is well worth booking. The buffet is excellent and again good value for money.

Sorry to say but, it's the first and maybe the last time I eat here. We struggled to get anything we fancied to eat as quite a lot on the menu was not available. In the end most of our group had steak, although it was very hit and miss if it was cooked how you ordered it. Quite fatty steak as well, approximately a third was inedible. It would not be right to complain about all the meals we had. Perhaps on another day the food would of been better. Price wise for two courses, brilliant.

First time we've eaten there for many a year. Ordered Haddock, chips and mushy peas for both of us and was extremely pleased when we were served in quick time. Large fish, thin batter and a few well cooked chips, just what we like. We will try other menu favourites in the future.👍

It's a friendly pub with decent food to boot. I've visited a few Ember Inns over the past few months and this one does stand out a little. It's a welcoming place and the staff are quite attentive, friendly and offer a good service. The food is of consistent quality with quite a broad menu to fit most people's tastes. The beer selection is also pretty good and quite well kept with reasonable prices. All said, a very pleasant place for a pint and a bite.

Fab family night, beer & skittles with an AMAZING hot/cold buffet. The skittle alley is a private area and if you have a good set up for music and lighting (as we did) you can have a top quality experience without it costing a fortune. Very affordable per person cost for the food, if there's enough of you (min 50) they will open a private bar in the skittle alley. The only thing that could have been improved was the time it took for the food to arrive but it's possible they were waiting for an OK from us, so my advice would be to check the details when you arrive. We will be back, thank you!

The place is very nice, there is a very convenient parking. We went for food, so I can't tell you about drinks..we ordered a gammon steak, a hamburger and pork ribs...the gammon came in a very good set and good amount of food... but I can't tell you the same about the 2 others... hamburger was very simple nothing special and ribs were really small...the average cost was 38 with soft drinks...the environment is good very cosy...but the staff wasn't in their best days...

Today was the story all about how my world got flip turned upside down. The staff said “Don’t worry just sit right there, I’ll bring your tea and your coffee with smarties to share!” Well I wouldn’t say that was an accurate representation on how my evening went at The Selly Park Tavern but it was very close. I came in only for a little bite to eat with my colleague but seemed to have left with a bit more than a simple bowl of chips. I left with a full stomach, a few beers and what was possibly the best service I’ve received. The young man Rob gave us top rate service and seemed to go out his way to keep a smile on our faces. The lady Emily was running around the tables giving everyone else around us including ourselves extraordinary service and she was a lot of help. Best time out I’ve had in a very long time and will definitely be coming back. 10/10!

Busy suburban roomy pub within a three storey building of architectural interest. Despite its popularity, there are many alcoves in which to retreat, and reservations can be made in advance. Generous two course meals for under £7 are available before 5pm. Plenty of friendly staff available to keep things moving.

Staff are nice polite but overall a standard experience and exactly what you'd expect as a service standard for any place of its type. Just passing through, on foot, been walking for several miles, familiarising myself with Birmingham again after a long absence. Needed the loo, as you do... Ordered a refreshing pint of Stowford Press which is perfect but they also offer Aspall..! Never before have I had this dilemma, albeit shortlived.. didn't even wait for my change - quickly followed friendly directions to the looooo... NO PAPER !!! I managed and I'll forgive them. On a semi - serious note... the place smells of cooking oil. Now then, in fairness, I've recently given up smoking. As a result, I can smell for England!
