Reviews of The Soloman Cutler - JD Wetherspoon
T. A.
5 real ales on. Silhill hop star I P A very good. Bright and light bars service good. Good atmosphere.
R. M.
Good crowd, staff fairly pleasant, have a DJ/dance floor on Fri and Sat evenings, so you can have a dance whilst still benefiting from Wetherspoon's value.
Deducted a star for these reasons:
- Dirty toilets
- Saw a security guard use the toilet and not wash their hands on a previous visit
- DJ won't take requests
Aside from these things, we enjoy going here and it's excellent value, as you would expect.
J. K.
My cousin and me visited the pub last night. The staff were exceptional and this has led me to making this review. The only table in the pub was being cleared as the server saw us approaching it. He came back and cleaned it. The bar staff were under immense pressure but knew who to serve next and were polite and helpful.
The server was attentive and although the pub was extremely busy he continued to check our food was OK and if we needed anything. He was also apologetic when he asked for a spare chair from our table for a disabled customer.
The staff were fantastic and worked with the customers care in mind under very busy circumstances. Thank you for all your hard work.
The food was lovely and the attentivepolite staff were amazing in such a busy environment

Came in on new year's Day after going to see jersey boys. It was s perfect might with the added surprise of a disco. Ended a perfect day. Would go again. Great service. Nice staff
B. G.
Very crowded. Food order was only partially correct, they did re do it, but every one else on my table had then finished theirs when I was just starting mine. Overall value is pretty good if they get it right first time.
M.
Strangest Spoons I have been to, they have a DJ and lights with a dance floor. There's also a private bar upstairs which is never open. Service is quick and pints are very cheap (99p and up). Good location too. What's not to like?
S. A.
Tried to get in through the back and was politely shown outside to queue to get in. Carl the security guard and management were great about it and I got table straight away. The food is nice, especially the chicken wings 😋. The drinks are responsibly priced and quite easy to order via the app. Good vibes once inside and will go again for sure. Giving 5 stars for the way I was treated after trying to get in through the back. Didn't embarrass me and the staff were very professional.
T. M.
It was just as expected! Great value and very prompt service. We particularly enjoyed watching the young lady (65 years young) knocking back her vino breakfast and looking forward to a day on the lash with her family! Brilliant! Hope she has a great day!😁🍸
A. H.
Excellent views, really good food and service
A. A.
Great spoons branch!! Lots of seating and stools, staff are friendly generally, the service is fairly quick even at peak times. they also place good music, when we went on Saturday which was nice for the atmosphere
E. W.
Not the pubs fault really but I had food here and when my toast was given to me it fell off the plate on to the table. The waiter picked it up and I noticed his hands was not clean and long finger nails. The pub did refund me my money.
A. P.
The bestW in Birmingham for entertainment value. You can definitely spend all day there for 10 pounds and marvel at the clientele in all there glory. It was that good I insisted on bringing my wife the next time I visited as it works out cheaper than going to the theatre and twice the value
A. Y.
A bit disappointing today visit
Not very busy but tables not being cleared very quick (see pic of my table)
Apart from that beer still cheap & cheerful
Would recommend just cause the beer range always on tap
C. P.
A first rate JD Wethersoon pub.
Customer service was brilliant with friendly and engaging staff.
Food was well prepared and delivered swiftly. The drinks range is extensive and great value.
The seating was comfortable and the environment warm and dry.
The toilets were clean and well maintained.
T. C.
Quite a disappointing wetherspoons in terms of appearance.
Typical great prices and choice though.
Staff are all good as you come to expect in wetherspoons.
J. M.
Fantastic Food, Service and drinks.
Only went in to have a quick bite to eat at Lunchtime with Work Colleagues & ended up leaving hours later very satisfied with the Servive & Hospitality 👏👏👏
B. P.
Popped in for tea to this JD Wethersponn pub whilst family visited the Symphony Hall.
One thing that differed from other Wetherspoons is the fact loud music was played and I had to move tables at one point as I was in an alcove with big speakers and it was just too loud!!
Overall I recommend this pub as it has friendly staff and it is always prompt service. Also it's in a great location for nearby attractions and Xmas market.
D. B.
Great wetherspoons to go to day or night. Decent staff. Decent food at a decent price. Great nightlife
S. B.
Easy accessible Wetherspoons off Broad Street with tables well spaced and screening between most of them. You can order via their App or the bar whichever is your preference. There is a reduced menu but most of the classics are available, no themed days anymore. In all it is a good priced venue suitable for all the family with friendly staff.
B. B.
Not a bad place for a quick bite to eat. Food is decent and the service quick. Only gripe would be that the tables are cleaned more often, as often they can be sticky.
B. C.
Really quick service on a Saturday lunchtime. Unlike other weather spoons we have visited during this timeframe the noise levels were pleasantly quiet with mainly families and OAPs drinking and dining. No noisy parties getting drunk. Very civilised and good value.
G. B.
Great pub I was in there on Friday around 11 o'clock only 7 punters in there mind you storm eunice was on the way.
B. H.
Great food and great service. Door beside us constantly opening which must've got rid of any Covid hanging around😀 only our second visit but bound to return again.
T. M.
Cheap and cheerful food. Wanted a quick bite to eat before a gig and this was a better experience than going for a McCardboard. No frills, very friendly and the service was quick.
F.
Don't think it is what you doin for me and yash I will do the best in my future life and my head is working fine and I'm now a little worried to get my head back in the morning to see what time I will finish it and the rest I have to work with the school to do this work at a time and date 3d and I just got a few of them to fill the application and I just got a couple 8th and 2nd
M. W. N.
I love all whetherspoons for their look and atmosphere which is always similar. This ona appeared to loud and got club music. Maybe because it's a Friday evening. Not my cup of tea. I guess I would like it more at the day time
A. C.
Great location on Broad Street.
Great breakfasts & I love the unlimited coffee / tea refills. The prices are unbelievable. It has great disabled access & the staff are helpful & friendly.
Covid measures are great & at present you fell safe here going for a meal or a drink.
Looks like it will have great views of the new tramway that's under construction.
Keep up the high standards & thanks to the management & staff for making our visits so pleasant.
E. S.
On arrival we sat down and tried to order via the app. The app does not allow you to edit orders (full breakfast with no mushrooms) so we ended up going up to the bar to order it instead.
Staff were friendly and quick and the food was fine for what you pay. Cheap and cheerful.
The toilets were located upstairs and there is a lift for those who need it.
Z. M.
Ordered for family, came very quickly. Bar staff friendly.
A. M.
First pub we visited was packed but got to bar, only had a few beers ,only larger was fosters (on draught ) so left after one round .
R. G.
A great Weatherspoons. Super curry and very efficient service 👍👍
Z.
Just as you’d expect a Wetherspoons, fast service when we were there
S. n.
Popped in for a quick drink on the weekend, was busy with good music and younger people. Drinks were priced right ;)
R. E.
A clean, tidy and well maintained venue as is my usual experience with Wetherspoons.
This was only a visit for drinks and there was the usual good selection of real ales .
The app is easy to use and the service was prompt.
T. F. (.
Polite and friendly staff. Didn't have to wait long after ordering for food and drinks to arrive. Food was piping hot and drinks were ice cold.
I don't like how there's so many steps to go to the bathroom but I'm pretty sure every Wetherspoons makes it a trek.
M. H.
Good place to eat and drink
Clean and tidy
Music later on a night...
All good
K. W.
Staff were very friendly and helpful given the current climate. Felt quite safe in our table bubble. Drinks served very quickly
S. B.
Can't go wrong with a spoons... This one on broadstreet is perfect for a cheap drink before the night ahead.
B. M.
Was OK, nothing special. Tikka wasn't that good but killed sometime before heading to our destination. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, a few old boys drinking at 11am but it's what you expect.
D. R.
Nice place, cheap drink, staff were friendly
L. M.
Very delicious, affordable food. Had to wait a while to get served.
J. N.
3 good value for food..beers not up to usual standard today.
R. G.
As usual with a weatherspoons, the prices are good and the atmosphere is decent! This one is located in a decent place on broad Street and the the staff were helpful! Can be busy at certain times though.
D. “. S.
Absolutely fantastic place to meet up with friends. Food is bosting and atmosphere is brilliant xx 100% on staff for service
R. S.
Nice pub but only few ales on tap the time i visited
a. s.
Lovely place but the was cold but staff really friendly and serial floors
M. G.
Good set up. Nice place. Good location. You use app to order food and drinks. My only criticism is that the app doesn't allow you to make comments or changes. For example I didn't want egg on my breakfast muffin but there was no option to remove it.
K. O.
My favourite spoons in the city centre , foods nice, plenty of spaces over 2 floors, on Friday and Saturday nights the music is on full blast and there’s a dance floor, great place to start your night. Something to work on however is maybe a bigger outdoor space would be nice. Overall I’d reccomend visiting this weatherspoons without hesitation
R. S.
It's a Wetherspoons so fantastic prices and good range. Went there after an England game and the staff deserve a medal for the way in which they handled very drunk and elated England fans. Frequently busy and have failed to get served here before a gig at the NIA or Symphony hall. They should have a section of the bar just serving a couple of options when big events are on.
S. M.
It's a Wetherspoons pub, so you know what you're going to get.
Called here for a breakfast & the pub was very popular with construction workers.
Great prices & good quality food (although a bit mean with the beans!!!).
J. T.
Floors and tables seemed a bit sticky, but staff were cleaning tables between customers. Wipeable screens between tables. Food was nice and good portion, but was only on the cusp of being hot. Soya milk not available at drink station. Vegan dessert not available, but a nice waitress called Chelsea was very helpful she offered me a free dessert of apple crumble with vegan ice cream, which was hot and delicious.
A. D.
Always the same deal cheap prices and reasonable food quality....
W. R.
Ran out of booze I think!!!! Seriously didn't have anything I asked for. However the grub was the norm......cheap an cheerful and filled the gap.
A. H.
Good food, not too busy at lunch time
L. C.
Had the chefs special and it was lovely! Nice food. Nice service. Sat at table 2 which was quiet in the corner..Will definitely visit again..
M. P.
Nice pub.manager could have been a lot more polite
E. M.
Lovely good and drinks and perfect price defo recommend this place
L. W.
Great beer at a Great price.... Got an atmosphere..
T. S.
Good service, decent food, friendly staff
J. J.
Slow service, rude male member of staff but food good.
J. C.
Good food and drink for good prices. Nice atmosphere and staff were polite and helpful. Restroom facilities aren't bad either. A good place to go.
D. L.
Had a great time but could do with a link of paint, as it looked tried and worn out
S. W.
Great Wetherspoons pub. Very socially distant. Lovely staff.
T. R.
Pleasant place, friendly helpful staff, good food.
E. D.
It's a 'Spoons' so it is what it is.. Went with a friend on a Sunday morning, I ordered the large English breakfast which was ok, but for some reason I had no bacon with it as was listed. My friend had one of the breakfast wraps and no bacon again or explanation when I asked why not.. All in all was good value though, and you get the quality you'd expect for the price.
s. t.
Staff were lovely, food was great and cocktails were fab
D. D.
At the end of broad Street there is the Soloman cutler great place for a meal and drink also if people heading to ncc symphtony hall the customer service was excellent and very interested the seating area was great to see view the toilet was well maintained and clean
L. M.
Good place to go on a Friday or a Saturday as they have loads of good music on
C. W.
Not bad on this visit, so have it additional mark, still a typical Weatherspoons pub, cheaper than other pubs in Brum, but still not the best.
K. H.
Great staff, very polite, attentive. Average food, but for this price I happy to accept that 1/3 of steak might not be edible.
What shocked me is Wetherspoon chain- really uplifted their prices and reduced content on plate, I know we are getting 50% discount, but that doesn't entitle you to to be doing this.
Very disappointed on this though
K. J.
Nice clean pub and drinks are fairly priced, great to go for pre drinks too and food is nice
M. R.
A crackin' pint and pukka food. Lovely staff!
D. h.
A nice pub with nice food but the beers can be hit & miss.
Stella & Heineken sometimes taste very tinny.
Like old stock & the next night everythings fine🤔
S. H.
A great atmosphere in this friendly Wetherspoon's pub. Food was good too, in the end! I had to ask for my pizza to be cooked properly though. The staff are very friendly, helpful & polite. It was also close to the Premier Inn where we stayed, so that was handy!
One down side is only having toilets upstairs, which is very awkward if you're disabled & their lift is out of order!
C. B.
Great space to eat good food and chat
K. G.
Perfect position for before drinks if you are going to Symphony Hall
P. A.
Excellent staff good food and ales
L. M.
Lovely here bar staff was really helpful
C. D.
Friendly staff, quick service, good breakfast at a great price.
N. W.
Great food! Atmosphere very welcoming!
j. P.
Visited thus morning , we have been visiting this pub many times , Christine who served us is "ALWAYS WARM AND WELCOMING" She is a very hard worker , and should be recodised for what she does . John & Debbie
N. J.
Great breakfast and unlimited coffee. Great after a day on the German beer in the Christmas markets
H. M.
During Covid. safe visit. Greeted at door, system explained. Good table service. All ok. Only down, no doors or windows open for ventilation.
M.
Good atmosphere prices not to bad for city centre
C. F.
Always good value, didn't have to wait long for food. It helps if you sign up with their table service app. Quieter upstairs with a good look out. Staff friendly and helpful. Food hot. Their curry Thursday day is my favourite, followed by Fish Friday
D. F.
Nice spot close to the library and centenary square great for a snack and drink
R. P.
Good pub, nice ambiance.
T. T. C.
Busy, but great to watch sports
J. S.
Great pub. Great service
m. l.
Lovely staff excellent food
P. H.
Lots of choice of drinks, real ale, keg beer lagers, cider, wines & spirits plus bottles of all different drinks. Good prices, served by friendly staff. Outstanding Irish barman, very knowledgeable. Serve food as well, looks very good, but not tried this time. Atmosphere was busy but relaxed, sport on screen if you want to watch. Would definitely go again. Left at 9:30pm so don't know how it is later on.
R. F.
Stopped in for something to eat with my family. Very big pub and food was nice but the app to order food didn't work and as with all Wetherspoons the toilets are miles away. Also lots of steps so not very easy for disabled customers.
A.
I love this spoons. Plenty of space with an additional bar upstairs which is a little quieter on Friday nights and the weekends.
Gets a little rowdy in here on Friday/Saturday nights. They even open up an area for dancing and it has a club-like atmosphere. Security guards on site during these times.
In the week it's quiet and a good place for a cheap lunch if you work nearby.
r. b.
Another city centre spoons, excellent drinks and meals
T. m. f.
Visited twice today, the service has been good but exceptional from Ivan who was attentative, polite and enthusiastic.
E. M.
An excellent restaurant, with great meal options that are good value for money. The location is great for people heading to Arena Birmingham, the NCC or Symphony Hall. The atmosphere is nice, and for a quieter experience I would recommend sitting Upstairs, which is easy enough as there is a Lift to the top floor, and there is also a bar upstairs which you can order from also. Thoroughly recommend to all.
A. C.
Good food, only atmosphere on a weekend normally. Staff quite friendly but you struggle to get their attention as they are always chatting amongst themselves.
R. C.
Nice place to meet friends and eat before moving on to the clubs on Broad Street
P. S.
Still decent food and drinks...
R. D.
Good menu with good range of beers
N. L.
The bar staff were very friendly but the place needed a clean. The tables were sticky, glasses left everywhere, floor was sticky and the toilets needed to be checked up on as they too were a bit unclean.
The drinks were nice and staff friendly but needs a good clean.
P. J.
Good food and great staff although could be cleaner as tables are usually sticky
R. S.
The drinks and food are rediculously good value, as is standard for a Wetherspoons. Decent service too.
This place goes monstrous on a Friday and Saturday nights, though. Think Stag and Hen parties, broken glasses, crazy dancing, arguments with bouncers. It's a sight to behold.
J. A.
Nice place. Nice atmosphere. A lift up to the he toilets is you can't do the stairs.
Will say the pizza is always cold. Maybe they should warm the plates.
S. C.
Great place for a drink to start out the night. Cheap pitcher cocktails. 👍🏾
T. W.
Semi modern turn of the millennium-esque pub probably opened about 15 years ago.. Its quite pleasant and light and airy inside with a large terrace. Good selection of real ales but being a Lloyd's bar slightly less than some Wetherspoons (about 5 ales rather than 10) The toilets are clean but very worn out!
S. M.
As with almost all Wetherspoons pubs - this one didn't disappoint me. Great Food, fast service and excellent value for money. We go in here every time we visit Birmingham. It's always easy to get a table and drinks are nice and cheap aswell. Would highly recommend this place to anyone passing by
R. S.
Very busy pre gig meal and drinks
C. K.
It's a Weatherspoons, quite a large bar with 2 floors. Toilets upstairs and a smoking area outside. Drinks are cheap and service is quick on a Saturday evening. Nothing too special but all in all a good place to start a night along Broad Street.
C. M.
Lovely pub and great friendly staff
j. M.
Decent Wetherspoons pub on Broad Street in Birmingham. A lot better value than other much more expensive places on the same street and across the road in Brindleyplace. Perfect meeting spot for going to a gig at the Arena or other nearby venues.
Good fast service and good value for money
N.
All the gins you could hope for and at affordable prices, we tried 3 types with the assistance of the gin booklet and suggestions for mixers letting us step outside our comfort zone. Staff were friendly but as it was quiet, there was no excuse for untidy tables.
s. s.
Visited on tues steak club night.
Had sirloin steak it was delicious. Cooked to perfection!!
It melted in your mouth.and the ribs were good too.
The pub is spacious but welcoming.
The staff are very friendly. helpful ,
And smart in appearance.
Usual Wetherspoon prices what's not to like? Highly recommended.
J. M.
Honest food and booze at a good price.
P. B.
A very large Wetherspoons it's a bit like a canteen, not much character to the place, very open and tables all in a row. That said it's a Wetherspoons so cheap beer lagers wine spirits and food. A great choice of everything. The staff are very friendly despite being run off their feet. Great to go with groups where you make your own atmosphere. Or sit in a corner, read the paper, do the crossword and enjoy the real ale.
L. A.
For a spoons, I was really impressed to be honest! We came here for a team breakfast at work... massive order and for the most part, it was all accurate and good! I ordered the American breakfast with pancakes and scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and maple syrup and mushrooms... genuinely delicious! 🤤 And it was fantastic value for how much I got - massive plate lol. Knocked 1 star off as the environment wasn't the best, sat near the window with dusty, food bits in the crevices... and I had to take my cutlery back twice as there was food dried on them 🤔 But I know, it's a spoons so for most, they wouldn't care but I definitely did! Tbf, they were lovely and made no issues with me asking for replacements... so all in all, I'd go back for that brekkie! (Just maybe bring some disposable cutlery with me lol)
v. M.
Very pleasent staff, especially Ethan, helpful in choicing my meal. Changed meal without any fuss. Very good prices and fast service food to the table now very full from my skinny chicken burger with salad n drink 🤗👰🐔 very accommodating for my hens of 8. Hen party 2019 May x
A. V.
During the day it's ok, food is nice, cheap and served fast. At night, it can get full of loud students but all in all a good place if you're on a budget.
C. R.
This was my first time back here after a good few years (9 I think). As a venue this is quite a good place as it's easy to get to and is quite large in size. There is a good selection of drinks to choose from here. Bar staff were good and the service was professional.
My only criticism of my time here is the Toilet attendant. I'm not to sure if that's the guys job title? It's a chap who has Deodorant, Hair product and aftershave on offer for a price, hanging around the sinks. The reason for my criticism is that he was pretty much begging for anyone using the Gentleman's restroom for money. Coming out with classics such as "If it tastes like Chicken, keep on licking" and "Wash your fingers for the mingers" says alot more about him than it does people using the restroom. It made me feel uncomfortable and was quite annoying to be fair. I didn't appreciate the attitude of him sucking his teeth at me when I politely refused whatever service he was offering. I don't think this should be allowed as it's pretty much begging.
It didn't come across as professional and it let the venue down.
A. B.
Very intensive staff. A excellent pint.
Food very good..good value.
J. M.
Went for breakfast before a meeting. The place was big and airy with lots of natural light. The toilets were clean. Not many staff but it was early. Foid was delicious with drink as much tea/coffee as you liked.
B. G.
I've been to a lot of wetherspoons. This was one of the less good ones. The floor and toilets were dirty - I suspect because of a the builders that visit at the moment. And the food wasn't great. The staff were very friendly though and I suspect it would have been cleaner had the builders not been traipsing concrete and mud in.
M. L.
Lovely staff great service Lovely hot food
Table service brilliant
J. L.
Staff were all friendly. No issues. What you’d expect from a Wetherspoons really. Fairly quiet at lunchtime... tables needed clearing quicker but food and drink service was quick and efficient!
P. E.
Friendly staff, cheap food, fast service, clean tables! Great layout with tables for groups and cosy booths for more privacy. Breakfast as tasty as ever, and just the right amount. Decent location right in the middle of things.
j. n.
Family breakfast service was great and so were staff
T. A.
Really good value & you can order off an app on your phone. No need to go to the bar, just enter your table number and they bring the food and drinks to your table. Great for families eating out.
S.
Good service. Good food.
o. i. v.
Good atmosphere and cheap prices
M. W.
Classic bar, above average food, you could even ordering your food by app
T. S.
Nice pub ,friendly staff...great beer
M. H.
Staff very friendly, service swift, food great and very regular cleaning of the facilities.
p. “. m.
hey, came here on way back to Birmingham new st station after been Birmingham arena. came in was packed for a sat normal so asked for help find a table, explan why needed 2 ask, but was not bothered just keen 2 help witch was nice. so good staff here
B. M.
Good location. Great value. Good service. Lots of seating options from bar to booths to dining tables. Toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired. It is what it is.
J. W.
The best spoons in Birmingham town imo due to the overall size and layout. Plenty of room for big groups and loads of booths if you want a more personal experience. Love that it turns into a sort of dance club past a certain time with the music and dance floor opening up. Amazing selection of drinks and food and allways served quickly and promptly even when busy!
B. P.
Very empty for a Bank holiday Monday with the upstairs closed. As it was sunny most people were choosing pubs with decent outside sesting areas. The bar staff are always pleasant and responsive and the standard of the range of foods across Wetherspoons is usually ok. We commented that the steak and kidney pie pastery was thicker than normal but the member of staff wasn't able to respond in the usual way by saying "I'll tell the chef". Maybe better training would solve the the problem.
The pub itself hasn't got the usual unique interior quirks of most Wetherspoons and shows the signs of years of wear. The Wetherspoon loos which are usually excellent again need some improvement. Whatever the interior disappointments the value of Wetherspoons can't be faulted.
K. M.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff my fav Birmingham spoons :)
S. L.
Nice big place, however, food wasn't up to wetherspoons usual standard. Chips tasted like onion rings and were cold. No eggs with the gammon until I questioned it twice!
M. L.
Use to be a Wetherspoons Lloyds bar, so has Tv's and shows the football etc. Always quieter than the Figure of Eight - another Spoons 100m up Broad St, and strangely cheaper as well. Staff very friendly and good beer. Small outside area.
P. 1.
Typical spoons but fast service on a busy saturday was very impressed
O. T.
Regular bar. Great food and wonderful beer.
D. C.
Great for cheap drinks
A. W.
Visited on a Tuesday Lunchtime. Not busy, but no-one serving at the bar. Tables needed a wipe. When I did manage to place an order, food arrived in good time and was really good, hence positive rating.

Visited with GF before watching Brian Cox at the Birmingham Arena. You've got a city centre pub on a Saturday night so you can't expect 100% cleanliness however, still good on that front. What made it a great visit was the staff upstairs on the bar that night, couldn't do enough for you they were great, feel guilty I can't remember the names as would have liked to name them, fantastic guys.
N. E.
Waited 45 minutes for a food order that we were told would be 25-30mins. When it came it was fine. Good range of drinks, reasonably priced.
D. J. I.
Popped into this well presented pub for an all day breakfast. The price points were really good and the breakfast was tasty. There was a party of 8 including a baby two teenagers and a toddler. We all felt cosy and the ombiance was pleasant. The breakfast was all braught out to our tables within 10minutes and at the same time.
M. D.
Cheap and cheerful compared to the bars on the canal
R. M.
Solumn atmosphere but cheap alcohol
Z. C.
A Wetherspoons that has plenty of space and room. Located on Broad Street so a great location. What you would expect from a Wetherspoons really. Definitely it's biggest possitive is the amount of space inside and on a regular weekday or evening it doesn't get overly busy
T. L.
Great place to meet up, & great prices on all there drinks #Unbeatablevalue
N. L.
Went there last Thursday for a drink Great place to chill out after a hard days work.
E. S.
I had the same meal as I had two days ago in Franky and Bennies, and this Lloyds bar beat them hands down in every aspect. The food came out quickly, was cooked perfectly, and the staff were very nice. Not usually one for writing reviews, but the difference between the two places was ridiculous. For half the price I had a much better experience well done Lloyds bar.
J. T.
Was not expecting to have such a fabulous evening in here. Music & atmosphere brilliant, obviously great prices & it's open until 3! The security staff made it a very comfortable safe establishment & all staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend.
C. M.
Really enjoyable food, they are sticking to the covid19 guidelines and it's always pretty clean in there. The staff are friendly and helpful
G. S.
A usual Wetherspoon with the same beers and food as most of the others.
A. F.
Nice experience for a Saturday night.
t. c.
Called in for breakfast we tried the app but it doesn't give you options to alter how you would like your eggs to be done so I ordered a the bar, the big breakfast was lovely although the bacon was under cooked and tasteless but great value, we will come back again soon.
P. E.
Good food value for money
P. H.
Great Pub, Great food. Fast and friendly service provides a fantastic atmosphere. Also a handsome barman with a ginger beard.
N. H.
We would like to mention one of you staff from our visit to the Soloman Cutler. Ivan is a credit to your company he was very polite and attentive, well groomed and very well mannered. He took a pride in his work and your pub . A credit to your company Regards Nick and Paula Holden
P. B. R.
Not a bad breakfast overall...
Black Pudding slightly burnt and not sure what to say about the single mushroom!
Service is always good and the staff are always helpful and friendly.
A. M.
Wetherspoons, nuff said. Always good value food and drinks.
S. B.
Large Wetherspoons pub on Birmingham Broad Street, fairly fast service despite it being a busy Saturday night! At some point the pub became more of a club, lots of people on the dancefloor with chart music playing. I don't know if I'd start a night planning to end here but it's a good place for cheap drinks!
L. B.
Staff absolutely lovely, food hot and prepared well!! Great nights out on a weekend could not fault the place at all!! Top marks to the people in the kitchen and on the bar, absolutely the place to be!!!
j.
Nice pub but very slow services very sort staff all the time... but the staff are very nice...
Never eaten here because it's takes so long to get just a drink... I have used this place a few times now and it's always the same 😔
A. B.
A standard Wetherspoons. Great value and convenient to the centre of Birmingham. Sports on the TV, a pleasant enough atmosphere and later of an evening it has a reasonable buzz about it. Works for groups to meet.
P. H.
First time in town for years Toilets upstairs not so good for arthritis sufferers
F. W.
Service was quick and food standard was good. Would have been nice to see a smile on staff faces.
R. C.
Cheap and cheerful with a great variety on the drinks and food menu. Also great for children in the day time, easy to get your pushchair around as it's really roomy in there.
K. C.
Great place atmosphere is amazing drinks or cheap food is cheap. But it is incredible food for what you pay. The staff are fun and on certain nights there's a live DJ
N. O.
This place is actually quite nice with very good prices considering where it is place.
I'm quite happy to return here and enjoy the pub. Can't really go wrong here and if you don't like it there are many options short walks away...
B. C.
I was there as a starter my nephew was getting married at register office so he needed a few drinks got served straight away pleasant atmosphere always able to get a drink really nice place i hadn't been in years drinks reasonably priced yeah really good.
B. U.
Great bar. Very neat prices for a pint. Really good quality and reasonably priced food. Will come again when visiting.
R. S.
Nice pub with great selection of drinks. Only bad point is they have a rude guy working in the toilets saying strange things
H. w. t. J. S.
Probably visited during rush hour, but such a ahame that they had no steaks and offered to have a chicken instead. Chicken was dry and friends lasagne was undercooked. Normaly in other same chain pubs Im being asked as how is the meal, but not this time. Nobody bothered to come over even knowing they kept passing us all the time.
Shame was that coffee you had to make yourself. Thay just give you a cup and you need to walk to the machine and make it.
Plenty of empty souce bottles left on the table for coustomers to pick from.
As mentioned before, normaly experiance in other same chain pubs were grate,so not sure if this was due to bussy time i visited.
P. S.
We sat outside, but hada lovely time, staff very friendly
v. b.
A nice "Spoon's" with great, helpful staff .
B. H.
Can't go wrong with a spoons breakfast.
G. W.
Quiet nice cheap bite weekday lunchtime
N. P.
Upmarket Wetherspoon's pub. On two levels. Usual Wetherspoons Fayre and choice of beers. When I went they had interesting real ales for £1.99 a pint.. there is a outdoor smoking area round the back towards the left hand side, not obvious if you're a first timer....
S. M.
We visited at night and the floor was really sticky. Music very loud, the crowd was a little unfriendly and we had to pay £3.00 to enter. Not my usual type of night time haunt but would give it a chance in the day.
S. D.
One of the nicer weatherspoons in Birmingham, but still, you know, a weatherspoons. That being said, the layout of this place is very nice and they have an OK selection of interesting beers as well as the usual favourites.
D. M.
Had a work do here and no complaints really. Got a bit too drunk to remember the food so not sure on that but service was fast and everyone had a good time I believe
t. t.
Good atmosphere, plenty of staff ready to serve you, so this cuts down on waiting times.
Plenty of seating options, overall a great experience.
P. R.
Really surprised how nice this place is. Open, airy and space to move unlike some of the pubs in the chain. Staff friendly and helpful.
A. T.
Ordered from the app. Food didn’t take to long to arrive. Very good value for money just like any other Wetherspoons
L. L.
Surprisingly very decent burger. The beef patty is succulent. Generous sides: onion rings n chips. Not to mention an alcoholic drink. All under a tenner.
s. u.
Went for a night out in Birmingham with the guys from work, wicked place good mix of music cheap drinks considering on broad Street only reason I'd give it 4 and not a 5 is the 3 pound entry but would deffo recommend and most likely will go back
P. D.
It a modern building ...a huge tomb of a place....not that nice
J. B.
One of the best wetherspoons, lively fish and chips. Busy as popular but ideal for food before a show at NIA Birmingham Arena (short walk along canal opposite) recommended.
S. A. H.
The staff are certainly more professional and friendlier than its counterpart on broad street yet to try the food ....toilets always clean but warn you the stairs are a killer to go up fortunately there is a lift if you struggle .
A. R.
Here with my beautiful lady Tina. Having a drink with my daughter before she heads off to Egypt. Had a great afternoon in the second city and always happy to drop into a Wetherspoons.
K. G.
Great spread. Very clean
D. S.
Been here a few times..We went there this afternoon to celebrate my grandsons 17th with a meal..Absolutely could not fault the friendliness and politeness of the staff..The food was great..fresh and hot..without a big wait..Can never fault the service there...ever!!!
R. R.
Staff were amazing and rescued my bag which I abandoned under my table! Many many thanks to the staff for that! Food was lovely too but customer care, cannot praise it enough!!
R. H.
Excellent location for the Symphony Hall. Fast service and food was good quality. Curry night excellent value for money including drink.
J. J.
A little slow and a few messed up orders, but it was very busy, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall a really good night.
S. G.
Food was good value and quick to arrive. Very busy when we went so ordered food and drinks via wetherspoons app.
S. C.
Good staff and prices
H. J.
Friendly Wetherspoons, some great staff there, best Curry house at reasonable price on Tuesday's & good Steak night on Tuesdays, good selection of Ales & other drinks at very reasonable prices.
M. F.
It is what it is...cheap drinks and outdated music
C. B.
Another great Wetherspoons pub, one of two in Broad Street. Good food, beer and prices. What's not to like?
M. B.
Good breakfast and friendly staff. Had the traditional and a coffee. Plenty of seating and got served quickly.
C. B.
Restaurant was ok, food was ok I think, I wouldn't say that it's great though and I doubt I would visit again. I love being able to order and pay in my phone though!
S. N.
A post pub, food was basic but very well cooked, extremely good value for money. Staff were friendly and felt with a large group arriving without notice very well
M. M.
Typical wetherspoons friendly staff
I.
Good selection of beer.
Great prices.
Always busy.
Friendly staff.
Worth a visit.
A. B.
Well it's a spoons pub, nice surrounding's and drinks reasonable. Food usually good
G. B.
Good standard of Wetherspoons breakfast.
Guest ale on point as ever.
Staff a little bit hazy eyed first thing in the morning.
T. M.
Decent prices, loads of screens. Go upstairs for quieter ambience. Watch out for the grumpy, angry looking Eastern European barmaid there - she never smiles. Smile!
S. Q.
Very good location, being on Broad Street and right in the centre of town. Fairly priced and food of a reasonable quality.
A typical Wetherspoon's pub really
C. F.
Nice pub friendly staff only had coffee due to driving but they had a good selection of beers on
P. S.
Great service, friendly staff. Food is not bad here actually. Great range of drinks available.
A. A.
This is one bar at Broad Street that keeps me entertained every time I visit, starting from the music, the spacious seating and the reasonably priced drinks, it's a perfect fit for a regular go to bar.
K. W.
Typical wetherspoons excellent.
T. F.
Great atmosphere and staff
S. C.
We went here twice while in Blackpool fish and chips are lovely and a great pint of beer ,very reasonably priced too !
D. P.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Would pop in again next time I am in Birmingham.
D. R.
One very helpful young tall local lad who showed my disabled wife absolute courtesy. Sorry didn’t get his name, very helpful indeed. Food very good!
J. B.
Food was average. Have had great meals here. But the pie wasn't good on this visit
L. B.
Very impressed after having a night out here, and how refreshing to be in a place with truly professional, understanding and reasonable security too!!! First for everything! Absolute diamonds - Thank you!
E. R.
Good breakfast, app ordering great during busy times. Sometimes slow service from kitchen but bar service quick.
B. H.
Right next to Birmingham's Historic canal mooring basin in the middle of the city its a handy place to stop and eat if you want to visit and walk around Birmingham's canal basins
A. W.
Decent pub great prices as usual, but why do you have a bloke standing in the toilet giving you soap when a soap dispenser does the same job ?
C. S.
Have visited this place on at 2 occasions recently. Was very busy on both occasions. Refurb would greatly enhance this pub
M. P.
Had pre drinks here before a concert at the NIA is a good bar pub. The atmosphere was good enjoyed it
M. B.
I think it's the biggest wetherspoon in Birmingham city centre. It has 2 floors with 2 bars. You can watch there major sport events on tvs around the venue. Usually it's crowdy there because it's probably the cheapest place to drink (and eat).
P. H.
Nice enough pub, main benefit is being able to order at your table using an App. Jump the queue!
S. H.
Food is always decent. Drinks are cheap and good atmosphere in there. A great wetherspoons.
T. E.
Nothing bad to say about this place, staff always helpful, you get what you expect which is a good thing now days as some places can't even get the basics right.
m. h.
One of the better spoons in Birmingham Central. Quick and friendly service for food and drink. Very large venue
D. C.
Great prices and choice
M. M.
A bit packed but its a nice wetherspoons, staff were abit slow clearing tables but it was busy when I asked they were on it, very fast service on food and drinks.
I. U.
It's ok
A. R.
It is very convenient and has a good choice on the menu. Pleasant service. Lots of room.
I. B.
Nice place to relax and enjoy a meal or drinks very friendly staff and helpful and the menu has a good selection of meal's
C. F.
Just about the best value place in town and directly opposite Symphony Hall in Broad Street so very easy to have a drink before the Concert.
K. G.
Great staff, reasonable food. Good beer selection. Clientele can be a bit hit and miss. It's Broad St at the end of day.
P. M.
It has very tasty food. The traditional breakfast, which I had, was a delicious meal and a very good price too.
M. H.
Nice pleasant staff
K. H.
Music was good and drinks were cheap...but never have I ever had to pay to get into a Spoons
M. G.

M. C.
Top Lloyds Number 1 bar
D. W.
Excellent food and friendly staff warm and bubbly atmosphere. Great prices too
A. D.
It is very nice inside, but the selection of ales is rather lacking compared to other nearby Spoons
E. C.
Same as any old restaurant pub really. Shame they don't separate the diners from the drinkers as it makes the overall atmosphere rather rowdy but this isn't massive problem for me.
N. W.
No music or entertainment but staff are friendly and drink is okay. Reasonably priced too
A. G.
New coffee machine needs to be maintained better. Tables needed cleaning. Food and staff still good.
J. V.
Nice breakfast here although the coffee machine kept going wrong and coffee isn't really unlimited if you can't get any haha
C. T.
I came today with a friend, his steak was not well cooked, they changed it. They seemed to me hard working and nice people. Thanks
K. C.
Good service with very good food,at a very good price, well recomended, drinks not dear, free drinks with certain meals, which are excellent value for your money.
L. T.
Brilliant place for food and drinks!! Brilliant customer service too.
J. B.
Nice feel to the pub. Food is ok but there is quick service.
T. J.
Lloyd's bar, 2 jager bombs or 2 desperados for a fiver! Loud unrecognisable music, because I'm old 🤔 but ended a great night out there with a group of friends
M. M.
Cheap drinks, great vibe, only downside is that staff doesn't inform you for last drink deals and you have to leave even if you didn't finish your drink
R. M.
Typical broad street pub.food was ok,Good price & on time. Nice beers & good staff
d. m.
Quite a modern looking wetherspoons. Quite light and not as dingy as some. Spacious and open plan. Service good and handy for the city centre.
M. P.
What's not to like about great wetherspoons prices. Good location and dance floor for a cheap night out!
B. B.
regular ol spoons but since its on broad st its a bit busier and a bit less full of old men - decent for day-drinking away your problems and getting in a couple of cHeEkY pitchers for £12 before going to the more expensive places along the street.
r. h.
Great fun vibe, no hassles from doormen
h.
Great pub usual standard expected Tuesday night is steak night, I was a solo traveller and felt safe.

S. B.
Large Wetherspoons pub on Birmingham Broad Street, fairly fast service despite it being a busy Saturday night! E. H.
Slow service and food was burnt. Did not even try and cover up the use of microwave meals...
S. H.
Great spoons/Lloyd's environment, friendly and helpful staff, would return if local to this site. We attended for drinks only.

m. g.
Broad st weatherspoons.....not alot more 2 say, food I have to admit is better than the usual weatherspoons farè but that's about it
