Reviews of Tilt

A hidden gem of Birmingham City Centre. Tilt was easy to find with clear signage from the main road.
We entered and the place had a very good atmosphere. I approached the bar as was able to choose from a large selection of drinks. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Just want to say the elderflower cider was amazing, good quality cider!
After a drink we had a mooch around the floors to play a bit of pinball. There is alot of seating across 3 floors which was great to see. A good selection of machines too!
The cost to play the machines was very affordable, this place is a great place to spend within your budget.
This is great in comparison to other competitors where you have to buy tokens or feel obliged to commit to spend £10+ as soon as you get in. I think we spent a couple of pounds on on the machines. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here either on a date night or even for a stop on my next shopping trip.

Brilliant bar and super brilliant staff!
We visited for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. The service was fantastic - Cia was incredible and made really helpful recommendations on out drinks! The pinball machines were a huge amount of fun and you could spend the whole day playing away.
Brilliant bar, can't wait to return.
C. B.
We had a great time at tilt.
Even though I am rubbish at pinball it was a good laugh. The selection of craft beers and ciders were nice to try and the American guy working (sorry don't remember his name) was super friendly and chatty.
N. G.
Awesome little place. Great beers (craft & stouts), great coffee & great pinball.. including Adams Family. A happy place 😊🍺
S. H.
Lovely venue with loads of beers on tap and good coffee! Games were great fun to play too.
C. M.
This place is amazing. Super welcoming, knowledgeable chatty staff, beautiful open space with still a cosy micropub vibe. Insane selection of beers - international beers on tap. When I visited there were Swedish, American, Polish and Russian beers as well as local on a 18-strong keg list (plus a local cider). Extremely clear menu too - with vegan and non vegan beers clearly distinguished. Awesome :)
E. J.
Love it here, friendly staff. Lots of pinball. Yummy cake and lots of choice of drinks.
J. E.
Good choice of craft beers and really good play list on go as well
M. U.
Whilst I appreciate that some craft ales/belgian style beers come at a premium price, Tilt is quite an expensive venue, and probably outprices itself for a 'more than a couple' venue. The Kernel Brewery beers serving at around 1/3: £2.25, 1/2: £3.38, 2/3: £4.50, 1pt: £6.75. The most expensive pint was £22.50 for an American Gose (The Veil Brewery Co: Never never meant meant double peach gose, 5.3%) Don't get me wrong, Tilt is a good bar to tick off the list, enjoy the minimalist design and 90's pinball mahines in the back area! Choose one of the 14 draft ales on tap carefully! Sip & savour, don't chug🍺
A. S.
What a brilliant bar. Admittedly I didn't play any games, which is remiss of me, but I did sample A Lot of beer. The range was superb and it wasn't madly expensive either. Can't wait to head back.
T. C.
Excellent selection of craft beers, some very nice coffees and oh yes at least 15 pinball machines including some nice modern ones! A lovely little gem to spend a few hours!
J. E.
Great selection of drinks- elderflower cider is perfect! Entertaining way to spend an afternoon, the games change regularly too.
C. W.
Great place for a drink, really good range of drinks and a good menu of hot and soft drinks too. Obviously great if you like pinball too!
B. C.
Have wanted to go for years. Well before lockdown. Really cool if loud little bar. When I say little it is very TARDIS like, looks small outside but surprisingly big inside over three floors. Obviously a destination if you like pinball machines but still quirky enough to enjoy if you don't. Good selection of real ales and beers as well
A. T.
I have been here a few times, food is always good, prices are reasonable for a meal out, good selection of dishes. Sometimes the staff can be a bit blunt which can be jarring, but I've brought lots of friends here and it's always a hit.
K. K.
Pinball, coffee and beer! What more could you want?
Quite possibly the best selection of canned and draft beer I've come across. There is also a wonderful selection of coffee (or tea if that's your thing) and cakes if you're not fancying the alcoholic stuff. I recommend a lazy Sunday afternoon here playing Pinball and ordering a Bonehead takeaway to complement a wonderful beer (or three)
S. E.
What a great place. Top class ales on tap plus the fun of a few pinball tables. What's not to like. Staff here very knowledgeable and helpful. Friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit
H. E.
Came to Tilt after travelling to Birmingham and Bromsgrove with work. Have been a few times in the past, the most recent set of machines do not disappoint!
They seem to have got rid of a lot of the retro pinball machines downstairs (there were no machines downstairs), but have a good mix of old and new upstairs.
Good selection of beers and they stock little cans of karma cola too!
R. L.
A great bar for pinball and craft beer. Close to New Street and major bus interchanges so easy to get to.
J. D.
Really good little place fantastic pinball machines to many to choose from. Beers to take away and good selection on taps. Also great selection off hot drinks, different types off teas and coffee's great for those who don't drink. Not many seat's. Fantastic place to visit good luck to the guys who set it up
Y. M.
Laid-back/casual bar with some unique Ales and Pinball. Gets very busy quite quickly because its quite a small venue, seating is quite close together and noise carries...can get a bit loud. Still deserves a 4 because Birmingham needs more free and easy bars with a nice crowd like this one
J. D.
This is a cool and random place in Brum town centre. Didn't know it was there, found it by accident.
Small independent with craft beers and proper coffee, and the whole thing is that there are vintage pinball machines everywhere. Upstairs and downstairs. Which is cool.
The tea I had was really good, too. Its hipster in a good way. You should check it out.
N. F.
They have about 20 pinball tables including the latest releases. The tables are in excellent condition. The cafe bar serves excellent fresh-ground coffee as well as craft beers and spirits. You can sit at tables and it has a lively atmosphere, particularly in the evenings. If you are going mainly to play pinball, you will find it easy to get a game and not be disturbed. They now serve pieces of cake to go with their coffee too.
E. T.
Great tap list, fun atmosphere, friendly staff. Heard about Tilt from Independent Birmingham and my only regret is not visiting sooner. Will definitely be heading back for another pint soon.
I. L.
Lots of craft beers, a couple of espresso roasts, soft drinks and large cakes are just a few reasons to go. Throw in a bunch of brand new and classic pinball machines, easygoing vibe and good central location (look out for the signs) and you have a place that is always worth a visit. Open late and normally have an event or two up their sleeve.
K. R.
Love this place! Great beer selection but also these guys take their coffee seriously too. Anyway, forget that PINBALL MACHINES! They must have about 15 in there and my favourite was the Star Wars but saying that Congo got a look in to.
D. A.
A good number of beer taps, nice baked goods and snacks, friendly, welcoming and informed service and a variety of pinball machines to keep you busy. Lots of fun to be had indeed!
M.
The coolest bar/coffee shop to be at in Brum! They only sell coffee and beer, and you can spend all day playing pinballs! They have so many pinball machines with different themes like Star Wars, Guardian of Galaxy and Dead Pool, it’s super rad! They got an industrial vibe so it’s very instagram worthy 👍🏻
Z. P.
Pinball machines, great beer and amazing coffee. Just remember cash if you want to use the machines!
J. M.
A comfortable place to kill some time or relax with friends. The pinball machines are a real bonus to the Birmingham coffee scene and make this place a real one of a kind. If you use an Independent Birmingham, the applied discount makes this place even more attractive.
This place has a large selection of teas which again, sets it apart from some other local coffee chains and independents.
I'd highly recommend a visit.
H. C.
Love this hidden gem! Great beer selections and lovely pinball tables that changes periodically. £2 for 3 games and the tables spread across 3 floors, bound to find one you like!
A. M.
Great selection of retro and new pinball machines served asking with craft beer. What's not to like. The place itself is nothing to write home about. Worst bit is the downstairs that smelt like pee, which is a shame other wise I might have given it 5 stars.
K. D.
Great place to hangout with great selection of non commercial (no Carling and such like) draft beers. Great pinball machine selection. I don't think there enough table but again there is no space for more table unfortunately.
There are more pinball machines in underground but it's damp and cold. (Toilet here too!)
R. S.
Excellent flat white and DARK hot chocolate with soymilk, moist red velvet cake and a brilliant selection of pinball machines, they beat the virtual alternative by a mile! Really polite and helpful staff and appropriate music.
Definitely a place for repeat visits despite the fact that it looks really stark and lacking in atmosphere from the outside. Considering that the place sells itself on the presence of its machines, it's odd that they're not more noticeable when you're walking past!
Maybe a little tweaking of the image would help? Could certainly do with a bit more colour in there.
V. Z.
Amazing selection of drinks that constantly changes, great place to go on a date or just a few drinks with mates. Many pinball machines to have a go on, and the staff are super nice!
Recently updated the way they display their menu, so even easier to find your drink of choice!
M. B.
Loved the pin ball machines. Drinks v overpriced..but I'm not the target market/mug here.
J. C.
Amazing Pinball arcade, maintained well and there are great beer and coffee choices
a. g.
Awesome little pinball bar with craft beer options. Sours on tap and the pinball machines were great fun
J. P.
The pinball machines here are so fun. And they have a good tea list. Nice and tucked away, definitely a great place to release some stress by flicking some balls.
J. W.
A hidden gem of Birmingham, if you visit and don’t go here you have wasted your time! Fantastic place brilliant beer and the staff are awesome! This comes the beer journal (YouTube) recommended!!
g. r.
Cool place. Cute mugs and the pinball machines were fun even though we didn't know what we were doing 😅
J. W.
Super helpful staff, and damn good coffee. Pinball machines are a lovely bonus too
w. t.
A place where u can get just EU variety. Cool space, staff is very nice, have space for big groups
M. R.
Amazing Selection of Beers. Pick of the Bunch has to be this Corker... Phenomenal is an understatement!
O. J.
Fantastic beer and hot chocolate. The barman had outstanding curly hair but even more outstandinger were his calves. It's as if they were chiselled by Michaelangelo himself.
R. F.
Am amazing mix of great coffee, great beer and pinball. What's not to like! Now with extra floors!
M. P.
A very niche central city bar, a small beer menu usually about 6 different types because of the strength some are only sold in thirds or two thirds. Be prepared to pay city centre prices. This is not a Weatherspoons!
M. K.
This place is great, I come here most lunchtimes for a beer and a few games of pinball. They have a huge array of machines available spread over 3 floors. From the latest "Pirates of the Caribbean" to the classic "Addams Family". They must have nearly 20 machines.
The craft beers they have on tap are excellent, they are always changing their selection too. Their cakes are also to die for, homemade goodness.
This is a must visit for all beer and/or pinball enthusiasts.
K. B.
Loved this place! Really friendly and welcoming staff, great craft beer and the pinball machines are great fun!
A. P.
Tilt Cafe was a lovely quiet cafe pleasant surroundings would go there again
D. B.
Funky little place with craft beer on tap and in the fridge, and a host of pinball machines to play. Tucked out of the way, so watch for the signs on the street.
A. T.
Brilliant been here before first with the misses she love it has well and lovely pint has well.
K. S.
Big range of beer, loads of pinball machines... great!
S. F.
Great little gem of a coffee shop hidden away in the alcoves of Birmingham. If you like me are fed up with main stream coffee and prefer the "real stuff", this is the place to go. I ordered a latte(£2.95), the taste took me back to the heady little coffee shops of London and Amsterdam. Also serves a fantastic selection of craft beers and houses many retro pinball machines. Great place to chill and relax. Would definently recommend.
T. B.
A very nice place for coffee, craft beer, and cake. Very good selection of drinks at good prices, however, there is limited food selection.
The wide variety of pinball machines is an added attraction which are fun to play around with. Staff are very helpful and give great recommendations. Well worth popping in.
J. H. D.
Pinball heaven with friendly staff and a great beer menu
L. D.
Tilt is a really good night out. Incredible selection of pinball machines across three floors. Felt very nostalgic and great fun. Friendly staffs. Lot of craft beers and other drinks to choose from and heaps of seating areas to enjoy with friends while you wait for your favourite machine.
The only downside was that it looked like it needed a bit of a clean.
a. v.
Great drinks menu. Good atmosphere
A. A.
A must for Coffee / Craft Beers and above all Pinball fans. Can be pricey but you are paying for quality. All Pinball machines are maintained and working great with some of the latest games and classic ones. Really friendly atmosphere and staff and always a welcoming place to go to.
M. D.
Awesome. Pinball, great beer, it's not too packed and did i mention they have pinball including a star trek TNG table
C. F. B.
Great talented friendly team, nice selection of independent micro brewed beers. Definite hot spot if you appreciate great service and fine brews or just a quick game of pinball! Absolute winner of a venue I would recommend anyone to try this place out!
N. H.
Nice staff, good selection of drinks and delicious brownies
P. B. C.
Really cool little hidden bar in Birmingham, offers a large selection of beers, really friendly staff and some great pinball machines. A really good atmosphere, though some of the floors/building are quite dated and the floor with the toilets is quite damp/eerie, but still a great place.
S. W.
A cool spot in Birmingham for a drink, though somewhat hidden. A friend told me about this place and I wasn't disappointed.
Beers are pricy but warranted given the quality of what is on offer. I was also pleasantly surprised at the range of spirits on offer. This place oozes quality from its drink selection.
The star of the show however are the many pinball machines, all lovingly kept and well presented. Just when you think you've seen all of them, you turn a corner or descend a staircase to find more!
I'm not going to recommend this be somewhere you stay the whole night, but you can't beat this in the area for 2-3 quality drinks and a bit of fun and competition on the tables.
Weave this place into your next night out for sure.
H. K.
Great selection of beers, friendly staff, nice atmosphere upstairs. The pinball machines are fun and well looked after. I'd avoid the toilets if possible, it's a bit grim and damp downstairs. Not cheap. One of the top bars in the city centre though.
M. B.
Very simply: if you like trying genuinely interesting and tasty craft beers, this place is an obvious choice. Beard-strokingly good. Prices feel a little high but it's not a 'spoons and you're not buying Fosters. You're drinking it as an experience and this stuff is amazing.
Staff are fun and engaging too and seem to enjoy what they do. Nice atmos too. Easy to recommend!
D. D.
I found it very nostalgic with all the pinball machines taking me back to my youthful days, yet the atmosphere was a little dry and had too much of a hipster feel to it. I feel it may have been different with more people in there as this was a place myself and a few friends went into for our first drinks of a pub crawl on a bank holiday and there were a couple of individual people in there. The craft beer selections are great, if not a bit heavy for a first drink of the day.
B. P.
Love this place.
Out of the way, decent music, high quality beverages.
Beer choice is near unrivalled. Other options are available. Coffee and cake is top notch.
Plenty of space with upstairs and downstairs so you can find a spot to sit and enjoy the excellent choices of drink.
Pinball bar so you can have a go or get stuck in if you're a pinball aficianado.
They don't mind you bringing in food either so you can bring your own snacks.
K. M.
By far the best bar in the city centre, always an interesting selection of beer by some of the best modern breweries in the UK/Europe. Also responsible for getting me into pinball, so now I appreciate some of the absolute classic tables they have. I'd score 4.5 if I could, not a 5 as I'd want to see a lot more beer taps to put it on a par with my all time favourite beer bars.
C. C.
Super cool venue, amazing coffee, special beers and other drinks and a huge selection of pinball machines, such a gem!
R. P.
Good coffee and a great range of beers.
Best pinball bar/café around
J.
Good craft bar, cool and fun pinball machines, prices are too high (£24/pint is the most expensive I've ever seen anywhere in the world).
A. R.
Good hot drinks, lots of pinball machines, friendly staff. Beer is a bonus - small but good selection on draft, and lots of cans. If they had a sofa I'd never leave!
G. S.
Chanced upon Tilt as a visitor to Birmingham and then returned when I visited the city on a second occasion. I really like the idea of the place - a craft beer bar with pinball tables across multiple floors. The staff were pretty friendly and knowledgeable about their beers.
However, the beer is very expensive - I understand that some of it has to be imported or generally costs a lot due to the nature of the product - but it's way more than I'd pay for a pint (or 2/3 pint, or half a pint, or whatever the confusing arbitrary measure is; it's done on a beer by beer basis here) anywhere else.
Also, despite the flashing lights of the pinball tables, the rest of the decor is very plain. I get the feeling it's been modelled on a school science lab, complete with pastel coloured walls and uncomfortable stools with metal legs that grate on the floor.
In summary: great beer, nice staff, but can't stay for more than an hour or so because I'll spend all my money and my behind goes numb from sitting on a horrible wooden stool.
A.
I like Tilt. Big supporter of independent businesses. They have a good selection of proper craft beers which changes from time to time so there's always something different. Good to see they have all the info up about each one so you can make a choice, and they offered me a sample too. Their coffee is good, decent roasted stuff. Cakes looked divine although I resisted. Friendly staff too, very helpful. Definitely going back again, and definitely recommend.
B. K.
Do you like pinball? Do you like quality beer? Do you like a good atmosphere with cool people? Then what the hell are you waiting for?
D. W.
Really friendly staff and customers. Very relaxed and informal. If you like pinball machines, you really should check it out - we were wandering around Birmingham looking for something to do on a Sunday evening and this place was a lucky find. Great craft beers too :)
N. H.
Quirky little bar. Full of pinball machines and craft beers/wierd teas but it has a warm welcoming atmosphere. Good helpful staff and very tasty beers I had a pinball Wizard which is a beer made from cranberry and sour cherries which tasty lovely definitely will go back again
A. K.
Great hidden gem of Birmingham, but so close to the main shopping areas, great beer and a fun way to spend some time.
b. U.
A hidden treasure, pinball machines great beers and the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted plus great atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend a visit.
H. H.
A great pinball bar! They have an excellent variety of modern pinballs and a fully licensed bar. They are helpful when machines go wrong and are happy to reload credits if there's a fault in the machine. Bring lots of pound coins!
D. R.
Great staff, great drinks and great games
O. Q.
Great beers! They had an Amunsden brewery take over when I visited.
G. C.
Has the vibe of a good European bar at the moment. Relaxed, good mix of clientele & cool tunes on our last visit (old school rock). All necessary precautions in place for Covid.
K. P. (. S.
Since opening just over a year ago this place has become one of my favourite spots in Birmingham. An every changing board of great beer, and lots of lovely pinball to boot! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Step away from the German market this Xmas and head in here for a totally different experience.
R. S.
Had great fun with the kids even though it targets the older clients with a lot of craft beers
A. M.
Excellent beer, hot choc and games.
J. S.
They have their own beers, a large selection of teas. They also have a load of Pinball machines for adults and kids. There is also a downstairs section which I will investigate next time I visit. Very impressed with polite and helpful staff.
V. D.
In some ways I'm glad it's not so easy to find because it has such a relaxed atmosphere about it that might be lost if it was completely packed. Theres some quirky wall decor and seating, games to vibe with your friends over, happy ambience and great selection of independent style drinks. I spent much more time in there than I thought I would. Will definitely go back whatever time of the day. My one thing I didnt love was the seating weren't really built for long periods of time but i didnt really care that much when I was lost in the moment. Lol.
T. H.
Massive range of beers, plus pinball. What's more to love...
R. Y.
Excellent beer list, great service, and the espresso is delicious. A beautiful space - very comfortable and modern. Will definitely return next time I’m in England!
K. R.
It's certainly unique as far as bars go. Bringing together real ales, coffee, cake and pinball it's a curious and fun little bar. Nowhere else will you see the lads drinking pints of ale whilst eating cake with a fork... Superb stuff!
Definitely a must visit, if just to play pinball with your mates
L. H.
Really like this place. They do great loose leaf tea (dragon well and jade tips are delicious) as well as specialty coffee and craft beer. 10+ pinball machines and plenty of change behind the till to play them :D Gender neutral toilets are a bonus. Disabled toilet on street level, 3 steps to get up to the cafe. Quieter tables downstairs if you want to chill. The only downside is that there's no food to speak of. There are usually 2 sliced cakes on the bar, but no vegan options. Other than this, it's a real gem of a place.
G. P.
Some great pinball machines (don't forget to go upstairs for more!), chilled vibe and generally cool place to hang out!
R. L.
If you are a pin fan this is a nice place to visit. Also they have beer.
N. H.
Tilt is super friendly and a great place for pinball and quality drinks. Love the place!
M. A.
I can appreciate not everyone wants a pint and a cake. However Im not one to turn down the opportunity and the cake is lush and the selection of beers is wonderful. Friendly staff, nice interior, and if youve had enough of your mates you can ditch them to play a pinball machine. Without seeming rude and leaving the pub. Win win i think
R. B.
Rich and the guys at Tilt provide a fantastic experience, regardless of if you're in for coffee or beer, you will try products you literally cannot get anywhere else in the city. Might not be in the most obvious location but this may well make it one of Birmingham's many hidden gems. Five stars well deserved, and if you like pinball, it's an added bonus.
A. F.
Great beer, lovely decor (note the growler in the display on the wall from the No.1 brewery in the world!!) and the pinball machines are all well maintained. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area
P. B.
Pinball heaven in the heart of the city - and possibly the best collection of pinball tables I've seen in years. Great selection of classic and new tables. Great coffee and beer selection with some amazing cakes too. Just go.
C. K.
Small Modern Bar/Pub with a unique twist serving Craft Beers and has a large number of modern Pinball Machines. There is a downstairs but is a bit small and pokey. Its a really unusual place but has something really cool about it being a mix of Local Beers and Pinball. No niceties just the basics. You might struggle for drinks if you don't like beer. Its a very unique place and you'll either like it or not. If your a Gaming Geek you'll love it!
M. B.
Great beers, great music, awesome pinball machines. Must visit when in Birmingham.
H. T.
Cool bar with loads of pinball machines, so be sure to being some extra £1 coins. Mainstream beers aren't served here so be prepared to try some new stuff. Awesome selection of music too 👌👌
M. G.
Birmingham needs more like this. Great selection of beers & friendly staff.
It is a little hidden away and a bit of an odd shape, but hopefully with time they'll work out the layout. It was very busy when I was there, so probably works better usually.
Decor is a little bright and sterile for me, they've gone for the minimalist look which does work but it's probably better during the day than the evening.
Prices seem slightly higher than expected, but there's currently very little competition so it's to be expected. Still reasonably priced compared to the rubbish other bars nearby sell, it is in the centre after all.
I think this place will be great once it's a bit better established. Perhaps check out Small Bar in Bristol for inspiration!
M. D.
Great craft beer and retro pinball...
D. J.
One of my fav places in Brum. Interesting beers from around the world, Great coffee and amazing hot chocolate. Best of all... PINBALL!!!! Only negative is it's in the upper end of the price bracket but you do get beers you won't find anywhere else in Birmingham. Beers I have never even heard of. They do some really strange stuff sometimes like pomegrate beers and milk beer. Give it a try
J. S.
Good choice of unusual beers. Change regularly. Friendly staff - no food served
N. C.
One of my favourite places to be whilst in Birmingham city centre.
Cosy and quiet atmosphere. I find it fun going with two other friends and taking it in turns to pay £2 for three goes on a pinball machine. I've even created my own personal high-score list on my phone showing all of my friends personal bests on each machine!
One thing people might not like is all the graffiti in the toilets; I find all the comments hilarious however as it all seems to be memes and jokes.
A. C.
If you're expecting an out and out bar this is not that place. But it is successfully marries a coffee shop, bar and pinball arcade to great effect. The beer selection was really top notch and the pinball games on offer were a great selection (sadly no Elvira machine though).
Another great place to chill in Birmingham!
L. H.
Craft beer selection is amazing and the pinball machines are always changing. Hot drinks and cakes are also served - can be a bit chilly inside - if you buy a hot drink you'll need to drink it quick
E. R. L.
Has imported Swedish beer and the best pinball machines including Game of Thrones (Limited Edition), Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy and many more. Could use some more visitors. Maybe the owners should put up a sign in the street nearby so people could find the place more easily?
s. a.
Always good beers, always friendly and helpful staff. But it's the most expensive option in what is already an expensive "hobby" (craft beer not pinball). But I'll keep visiting cuz the positives outweigh the negative.
V. C.
Birmingham needs more places like this. Great selection of beverages, from coffee to ale, and I highly recommend the range of hot chocolate (there are five to choose from).
I chose the 'Darkest' which was an 83% Madagascan chocolate. Like having a coffee without the caffeine.
Also they have loads of vintage pinball machines hence the name :)
D. H.
Great little bar , friendly staff, always good beer
D. R.
These guys really know their beer and their coffee! Their Barista has years of experience and is passionate about his craft. They are really down to earth top guys! Also they have pinball. What's not to like?
L. b.
Music was good, drinks were not for me and they had pinball machines.
J. A.
Great place fantastic selection of craft beer and ale very knowledgeable staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere and to top it of old school pinball machines what more could you want.
H. B.
Everytime I visit tilt it's always welcoming with an awesome ambience and music selection. Pack that with great coffee, teas and beers and you have one of my favourite places to visit when I'm in town. Its quickly became one of my favourite coffee shops and I highly recommend popping in.
D. C.
Fine craft beers, exquisite coffees, an airy, sociable interior.
Why not grab a friend, maybe 10, gather round a table in Tilt and chat over a quality beverage. If you get bored of your mates, rise from your seat and try your wizardry skills on the multitude of pinball machines.
T. E.
Always excellent, and that goes for the beers the coffee and the staff! Oh and there's pinball if that's your thing 🤷♂️
D. H.
Awesome place to chill for coffee, tea, something stronger maybe and some great new and old pinball machines.
Kirk and Richard are very friendly.
A must visit for the enthusiastic pinball player or coffee lover.
M. C.
Incredible range of pins and a great bar with plenty of choice. Easy to find, could stay for hours.
P. M.
Unusual Bar with some excellent Pinball tables on different floor levels. I liked the decor and drinks not badly priced. Good friendly atmosphere.
C. O.
BEST PUB IN THE WORLD! Found this place by pure chance, took me back to the first place I started drinking years ago. If you like a pint and a choice of pinball machine's then you've really gotta visit this place, outstanding
R.
Such a great place, great selection of beer and the coffee is brilliant. Always updating their pinball machines as well.
H.
Top beer. I don't even play pinball but love this bar. Brilliant beer, music, friendly knowledgeable staff. Cake. Vegan info on the ales.
R. S.
I always visit this place when I'm in Birmingham. The number of games seems to dwindle each time I go. I spent about £20 and played all the games they had, but I couldn't hear any of them, the music in the place is too loud, and shooting pinball without hearing the audio is kind of an empty experience. Even the guy serving coffee (luke warm coffee) was singing along to the music, and his singing was louder than the game I was playing. Great pinball games but very poor playing environment....and luke warm coffee! Pinball deserves more respect.
S. L.
Fantastic place! Arguably the best coffee in Birmingham and the variety of different coffees and beers is amazing. Staff are excellent and can't go wrong with pinball machines!
D. S.
You got to love the beer here, very nice stuff although on the strong side so you can suffer if not expecting it. Also some very very good pinball machines in excess of 10.
D. “. W.
cool place, lots of unusual craft beers but a bit expensive. I guess that`s just how these beers have gone. coffee tea and cake available too, and I couldn't resist a go on the pinball machines
S. T.
Really cool place, friendly American guy working there , great music too.
J. H.
Selection of a dozen or so pinball machines over two floors. Suitable for any time of day as they serve tea, coffee and beer. The staff were friendly the machines were fun yet there was still something that made the two of us feel a little awkward, maybe it was just how bad we are at pinball.
One note of caution is pinball can drain your pockets surprisingly quick it has that arcade thing of it's only a pound here or £2 there then you come out having spent £40.
A. W.
Staff here are always super friendly and welcoming, they always have interesting drinks available - I recommend the gooseberry gin! Great place to chill out especially if you like pin ball
K. M.
I visited Tilt with a large group of friends on a weekday. We were able to snag a good area of the shop easily near the pin ball machines. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
I opted for an on tap beer, but some others enjoyed the tea and coffee selections. There was one cake, carrot I think, which probably was completely eaten by the time our group left! Haha.
The over all idea of the place is really good. But I don't think it hits it on the head quite yet. I feel this place is in its early stages and has room for growth, which is a good thing! The shop itself was pretty bare, which made the pin ball machines seem out of place. A shop interior designer needs to come through and have a good go at it!
An idea for the machines I came up with is a "buy in" rate, and then an ongoing leadership board... linking all the machines together. I'm from America where a pinball machine is only 25 cents. So a pound for a game seemed a bit much. But I understand it is a novelty. And getting a leadership board makes things fun and people more likely to play more than once!
The staff were awesome and on point. The place was clean and tidy, and if I find myself wanting to go to a place in B'ham again that is a bit off the radar, I will visit Tilt again. :)
J. H.
Great coffee. Even better beer. Pinball - what's not to like ?
S. M.
First visit and worth the effort. Great selection of beers.
K. R.
Always pleasant staff with real knowledge. Choice of beers, coffee and pinball machines is phenomenal. Lovely atmosphere in the place too.
D. S.
Great range of interesting premium beers (at premium prices it's true but you do get what you pay for here)
And a wacky set of pinball tables that I will need to have some more practice on!
K. H.
Good coffee and range of craft beer. You can bring your own food in to eat as well, and the pin ball machines are a great touch.
L. P.
Absolutely amazing place. 3 floors of the greatest pinball machines. Fantastic atmosphere great beer and lovely staff. I need to go back soon
P. B.
Great place to spend a few hours... pinball machines, fantastic selection of craft beers and very friendly staff. What more could you ask for. 🙂
G. F.
Good selection of craft beers but atmosphere was pretty flat. Good idea with the pinball machines but was just a bit bare everywhere
S. M.
Great coffee, cake and beer. Added bonus of being able to play pinball or just sit, use the wi-fi or watch the world go by. A little off the beaten track but that just makes it all the better for getting away from the hustle and bustle.
J. H.
Decent coffee during the day. Good selection of local ales in the evening.
Loads of pinball machines.
All in all, always a fun visit.
A. C.
Excellent selection of beer and coffee. There is a large selection of cool pinball machines. Good atomnosphere definitely worth checking out of you're in Birmingham.
A. D.
Amazing place. Really friendly, knowledgable staff. Love the craft beer selection and the brewery takeovers. One of the best places for coffee in the city as well. Becoming a regular haunt!
M. L.
Great selection of ales most of which have a description to help you pick one. They're a little expensive but worth it. The location is filled with pinball tables. Also, when the bar isn't too crowded, it's a lovely place to play some games.
K. P.
Great atmosphere and awesome pinball machines
D. H.
Nice range of craft beers/ales. Maybe needs a few more pints (although that maybe just because of what was on tap when I frequented the establishment). On the whole, I'll certainly be there again.
J. A.
Top beer and amazing pinball! Well worth a special trip if you are or even if you aren't in the area.
M. C.
It's ok, good beers on tap as a general rule, and a good selection in the fridge, but corking fees are too much and there's never any atmosphere in the place. Desperately needs more people
D. R.
Great beer, more pinball than your can shake a table at. Downstairs is a bit damp but otherwise a really cool friendly place.
G. D.
Great place. Staff are genuinely nice. Great selection of new pinball tables. Only let down is the state of the downstairs area. Facilities are lively and clean but downstairs seating is dilapidated
L. P.
Fantastic little independent coffee, beer & pinball place. Also sell delicious locally baked cakes. For something a little different from the norm. A go to place, love it.
J. G.
Great coffee, great beer, nice and quiet. however can be a little pricier than main chain shops. This coffee shop come pinball arcade is a great and quirky little place.
B. G.
Great selection of beers, great entertainment with the pinball machines, but it's a bit pricey for some of the beers but that didn't dissuade me from trying as many as I could!
S. W.
Great atmosphere, excellent craft beer friendly and knowledgeable staff!! Man with goaty beard knows everything about all products if craft beer! And really friendly! Great speciality coffee too, really cool decore
S. L.
Yay pinball machines, loads and loads of them. They allow kids as well so after a day's shopping in Birmingham this will be where we stop for a drink and a quick game of pinball.
Friendly staff as well.
S. O.
Wonderful selection of craft drinks, great service and a plethora of sweet pinball machines!
P. J.
Lovely selection of specialist beers. Friendly staff, Lovely coffee to follow & all with pin ball machines. A hidden gem
J. C.
Great place with huge selection of beers, great pinball machines only downside was a huge preference to stouts while i was there but of lighter beers were brilliant
D. W. (.
Great beer selection, wonderful selection of expensive coffees, and of course the huge number of pinball machines. If you’re looking for a particular machine it’s probably there.
D. B.
The barman had ludicrously oversized calves which weirdly heightened the drinking experience.
R. E.
Awesome craft beer / coffee / cake / pinball I struggle to not visit when in Birmingham. Beer range is always very interesting and unique to Brum
D. S.
Favourite bar in Birmingham, the pinball helps but the coffee beans and beer are gorgeous and usually from small batches so there's something new to try every time you go in.
I. S.
Great beers, great staff (and Tomny), the most pinball machines in the UK (probably), amazing cakes and coffee!
Get here, bring a pocket full of nuggets and loose hours of your life here!
J. M.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money, the place has some lovely ale and a huge range of pinball machines. The beer is expensive though....... Very expensive in fact.
N. T.
Only came in for a quick pint but will definitely be returning - plenty of pinball machines and the selection of beers is top.
D. T.
Love the white hot chocolate very friendly atmosphere will definitely be back
m. m.
Fun pinball tables. Nice staff. Ball got stuck on table, got two free games given as a result, great service. Would recommend.
T. C.
A small selection of pinball machines and beers in a central location. £1 per round on the pinball machine was twice as much as other places I have been too, but overall a good experience!
R.
Fantastic beers, great coffee and awesome staff. Always made to feel welcome and fantastic choice of stuff to drink.
N. M.
Really cool place, extremely good beer and amazing staff! Definitely recommend if you want a good drink in a chilled place.
S. S.
Beers are great, they cover the spectrum lager to imperial stouts. Great coffees tea and cake plus pinball
M. L.
Great beer and a good choice of pinball. The bar felt a little too sparse. Downstairs seems like a (smelly) work in progress.
A. R.
Always great beers and knowledgeable staff able to provide recommendations and advice
w. m.
pin ball is really awrsome. My friend wish to go there again with me.
R. D.

C. R.
Good range of beer and great service!
H. R.
A really enjoyed this place. A lot of pinball tables and nice beer. Beers are slightly expensive but they are good.
L. A.
Whilst this place is known for its craft beers, their White Hot Chocolate is divine. Heated to the perfect temperature, with a delicate touch of silky foam on top. To die for!
D. E.
Smells a bit damp but great fun..
Loads of great pinball machines.
A must if you love flipping !
Takes me back to the '90s.
F. M.
The kind of cool where they don't have to spend any money on the interior but charge a lot of money for the beer. You know the type of place, like they got all the furniture from an old school clear out. You know, the guy behind the bar has a moustache and a tiny beanie
A. G.
Great draught ales available. First visit here and wont be the last.
R. B.
A perfect spot to kill a few hours in an afternoon or meet friends for a few laughs. Fine selection of beers and the best pinball machines in the Midlands.
