Had some drinks and lunch there. They do have a dress code even during the day but as long as you’re not wearing a beach towel around you, you’ll be fine. At night it has live performers but I haven’t visited at night. During the day the place is lovely. Food is also great.

Incredible!! Where to start?? Let’s go with the food, wonderfully crafted dishes and an extensive pizza menu from the wood fired oven, incredible flavours that are authenticity Italian. Fantastic service with friendly and knowledgeable staff, made us feel like we back in Italy. The restaurant itself is modern and has a great vibe. Highly recommend. We’ll be back soon.

Fun night with a live band! They have a great (good quality) drinks selection and attentive bar staff. The only thing I'd recommend they do is dim the lights when the band are on to create some ambience. Would come here again!

We had the most wonderful Master class cocktail afternoon on Saturday 11th June and Kate was amazing. Her knowledge was incredible and she took her time to go through any questions asked and overall gave us a wonderful afternoon experience in Cocktails. We decided to host a few drinks for my wife's birthday celebration with some friends. We organised a section of the venue, so we had a private area for our friends. The bar service and quality of drinks is excellent and live band created a party and fun atmosphere. We would like to thank the team for their excellent communication and first class service in arranging everything prior and during the night, in particular the bar manager (although I didn't get his name). You can only assume they have a great management team who ask for high standards to deliver a great experience for their customers. Thanks to all 1821 staff.

Absolutely love the atmosphere and vibe of this place . Total mix of age groups together it caters for all, I've been there with my 18 year old son and my 40 something childhood friends . The live bands they have are brilliant it is absolutely impossible to stay in your seat in this place, you cant help but get up and dance with the soul and funk live music. I've only been on a Friday or Saturday night when they have their live bands so cant speak for other nights . Went there for a Christmas celebration and for my birthday last night never disappointed. The decor is classy and it is always busy but never uncomfortably so, anyone visiting Bournemouth needs to check it out . Staff are lovely and look after their customers and weve always been able to walk In and get a good seat. Obviously cocktails are cocktail prices but they do offer a good range of other drinks too , definately check this place out .

We came back because we enjoyed ourselves last time. Quite this time due to being midweek but the staff are great and the atmosphere is still lovely. The food was incredible.... probably the best pizza I have ever eaten (and I've had my fair share). We would recommend this to anyone visiting Bournemouth.. 5 Stars

I really love the bar staff here, especially the guy with a lot of tattoos, he is an exquisite cocktail maker, my husband and I really enjoyed our time here and his cocktails and his really friendly and knowledgeable service, also loving the live music.

Great place for a more mature crowd, excellent when they have live music and a good place to dance. It is a bit pricey for the drinks, a friend paid around £11 for a double G&T. The door staff took their time attending to a small fracas on the dance floor area, but on the whole it is a good place to go for a night out especially if you want to dress up a little bit.

The hotel is welcoming and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. I've stayed there on a few occasions, I throughly recommend it. It's a short walk to the beach, pier and Oceanarium and other amenities. Thank you to everyone concerned at The Royal Exeter Hotel & 1812 Bar/Restaurant, you do an amazing job. I've already booked for next year.

Went for Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious as were the starters. Luckily we decided to have dessert, beause the chocolate brownie was the best I have ever had. Didn't feel the new style restaurant had the same lovely ambience it used to have, not helped by the long bar. Enjoyed the live guitarist though.

We had an absolutely brilliant Sunday lunch here. The service was exceptional, the menu was extensive with a choice of roasts. The food came promptly and was truly delicious. They accommodated our toddler's needs perfectly and she loved her mini roast and especially enjoyed the strawberry ice cream with strawberry coulis that followed. The best high end cocktails in town served in a swanky modern style bar. The staff are well trained and will be able to make your favourite tipple whatever it is, whether on the menu or not. It is very lively at the weekends and often has very good live entertainment while still offering quieter areas to socialise. The restaurant at the back of the bar also provides great food and very good service. It is separated by glass doors and walls, so it feels intimate while still being part of the bar. Without a doubt one of the best bars in town.

Nice place, but was told to contane the children as we had twins of two, a 9month old and a 3 year old in the area which had a large seating area and plenty of room on the tarmac bit for the children to run around. There were not many people there and we spent nearly £200 in the short stay we had,and they didn't complain about that. So if anyone decides to go dont take your small children, even though it states family welcome.

This was my first time since the refurb. They've grabbed Hassan the GM from lost paradise and he's done a great job. There a real energy to the venue and I love it. Cocktails were amazing and the live music was so good!

We went on. Saturday night and the place had a great atmosphere with a good live band. Only downside was the Asian lady behind the bar who stopped serving our whole group when a lady we were chatting with accidentally dropped a glass. It just took the edge of a great evening.

One of the best cocktail making experiences I’ve ever had. The mixologist was incredibly knowledgable and friendly whilst being flexible and asking us what we would like to mix. The standard bar menu prices are reasonable but the cocktail making experience is incredible value for money. At roughly £20 a head and mixing 5 drinks whilst sampling many other neat spirits made it an absolute bargain. I will defined be visiting again...and again...and again!

this is a stylish looking restaurant situated at the back of a bar. we had a great meal here on a Friday night, all three courses were very nice. it wasn't a particularly busy night and to be honest we felt a bit rushed through our first two courses, however after asking for a bit of time before ordering dessert staff were understanding and left us to enjoy the wine for a while. the only thing I wasn't too happy about was the noise coming from the bar area, there were a few lively groups gathered in there drinking - I would have preferred it if the doors at the entrance to the restaurant had been shut... but then I am at bit over fussy about noisy restaurants so I wont mark 1812 down for this.

The best bar in Bournemouth! The bar is on a fancy side which makes the place to stand out amongst other Bournemouth bars. The atmosphere is cosy and private (given there are individual tables and leather seats arranged in a open booth-like way), however the place gets very busy during late evenings and weekends. If you want to have a nice chat or a date - come early ; for a party - come later at night. The highlight of the place is its amazing cocktails - fantastic selection ! The bar staff is extremely helpful as well. It is a must go place if on a night out in Bournemouth.

We booked a table here before a show at BIC. The restaurant is within easy walking distance of the entrance and car park. It was an excellent choice. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The service was excellent- our order was taken promptly, the courses folllowed without waiting and the waitress was so thoughtful, even watching the time for us as she knew we needed to leave on time to get to the centre before the show started. The food was delicious- freshly cooked and well presented. Dietary allergies (coeliac) presented no difficulties.

The staff are really friendly and they always seem to make a lot of effort when making your drink, if you want a slight alternative to something that is on the menu, they will make it. The queue for drinks on busier nights however can take some time, especially if you don't want a fancy cocktail. I would still recommend to anyone that hasn't been before!
