Went here to have Sunday Dinner. The staff are very friendly. Large selection of food at a reasonable price. Being a vegetarian, plumped for the Nut Roast. They make the best I have ever tasted. When inquired was told that it is made by the owner herself, superb. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Disabled friendly car park, small step to enter premises. Would highly recommend

Stylish but cozy pub/restaurant. The member of staff who served us was very friendly and welcoming. Was a joy to meet her. Order was efficiently taken and drinks brought to the table. Menu selection was reasonable with usual range of food. Lamb shank peas and mash was £16 which is reasonable by most standards today. Quality was fair for the price. Lamb tasted fresh and was very flavoursome but usually it falls off the bone but I had to cut it off, more like a joint, suggesting it may have been roasted more so than braised. None the less it was very good value. Other dishes seemed equally well presented and of a good size. Portion wise I'd say bigger than many offerings for slightly less cost. Overall a nice setting, lovely staff with tasty good value food. Oh, not huge amounts of parking it seemed, especially given the size of the premisses.

Too long to wait for just about average ham,egg and chips.(£12). Lunch time on Tuesday,quite a few people in,but the wait was unacceptable and I have had better h,e and c for less money. Informed the young lady at the bar,I was disappointed,but got no real response. Other meal was a panini which was ok.

We were travelling on Sunday 17th October and came across this wonderful pub. From looking lovely from the outside to feeling welcome from the moment we walked inside. The staff were very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The roast dinners were the best (and largest) we have ever had in a pub before and tasted amazing. The whole place had a calming feel to it and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was nothing we could find fault with, absolutely enjoyable experience. We would definitely visit again if in the area. Would highly recommend.

Had a break away to Somerset with the family and the dog for a few days and happened to come across the Virginia Ash. Upon entering we were greeted by a young male member of staff who was very welcoming. Once we purchased our drinks, we got speaking to a lady and informed her we were away on holiday. She told us about places to visit that were local, as well as the fact that they were hosting a "super car" event in a couple of days time (that we attended, which was brilliant!). Ordered food and the service and quality was that good that we decided to spend our last evening there also. Staff couldn't have been any more helpful or courteous. Would highly recommend. Our dog also highly recommends the doggy ice cream that they serve there! If you're in the area - take a visit here!

It's only fair that after my last visit I update my previous review. The staff dealt with our pre-booked party really well. I get that having a table of 14 can be stressful but the food came out in a timely manner and the staff handled our orders well. Any issues I had with my last visit had been dealt with and I left happy and full up. I will be back in the future.

We went for a family meal at the ash on Sunday. We had our sons with us who where welcomed and accommodated. Our eldest has ASD, so can be very particular about what he eats. The staff where very understanding and helpful to make his experience enjoyable and suited to his needs. Fantastic staff! Lovely atmosphere and food, we look forward to going again as a family.

Really not impressed with their social distancing, having been placed on a table between two others less than a meter away and no barriers. The staff were friendly but felt very understaffed for how busy it was (we ordered drinks and were waiting so long two different members of staff asked if we'd like to order drinks!) my food (roast chicken cajun style) was enjoyable, but one member of our party ordered a well done steak, and we emphasised that she will not eat it if its the slightest bit pink. It came to us bleeding. Sent it back and it was returned still quite pink inside. After waiting so long to have ordered and receive the food, didn't have it sent back a second time so endured. A shame as the pub itself is lovely and the staff seem sweet but won't be returning anytime soon.

Excellent food and great value for money. This is our local go-to pub. Yesterday they were really busy so there was a wait for food so we were given some cheesy garlic bread to keep us going. Despite being really busy all the staff were friendly, smiley, polite and professional. Toilets are always very well cleaned and maintained. Highly recommended.

It's good to see the Ash open after it was closed recently due to flooding. The place looks like it's had a refresh in some areas. The food is okay, we only ordered a burger and a steak but we were satisfied. It is kid friendly but some steps on the way in may cause a challenged for a heavy pram or wheel chair. The price is fair compared to other local pubs

New staff and a new menu, a fantastic improvement. The waitresses are extremely polite, helpful and quite frankly fun, and the food was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meals, I would personally recommend the fillet steak.

We are usually very regular customers but this was our first visit for over a month. To our surprise the pub was under new management, with a new menu half the size of the previous one. We were a little dismayed to discover our favourite dishes had disappeared or changed. Service was a bit slow and confused but the food arrived quickly once it was ordered. There was no offer of or sign of condiments which was disappointing considering the pie of the day was very dry (pie without a gravy...???). That said though, the food had flavour and presentation was pretty good. Maybe skimp on the chips though and add a few more veg. Not everyone wants a plate of chips with bits on the side. Overall it wasn't the best first impression but as it is our local we will continue to come back and hope next time is an improvement.
