It’s a local haunt for me and my family, cheap, cheerful and on our doorstep. Never a dull moment in this joint, it’s always full of colourful characters at any given time of the day/week. You can have a good chuckle. Often order a self-serve latte, currently going for £1.25, though you can refill until your bladder bursts. It can be a pain when you go to fix your drink & the machine is thirsty for milk but staff are happy enough to top it up when you give them the nod. Guess the refill deal puts them in high demand! Food is average pub grub, but for the price you can’t go wrong most of the time. Reasonable prices for alcoholic beverages and deals on food/drink combos as you’d expect in spoons. Usually have to ask for tables to be wiped down but it is a busy establishment, often the staff are run off their feet. There’s never a problem when you ask one of them to give it a once a over from the sticky residue left from the last customer.

We have been visiting this pub several times during our holidays, with our children aged 6 and 9, had breakfast and pub classics (Fish and Chips, Chicken Tikka). Each time we found the food delicious, value for money, and there was a nice choice of drinks on offer. Coffee included free refill :). Staff were very friendly, and we got served in next to no time. There were even colouring pencils and activity sheets for kids to keep busy during the short waiting time. Toilets were very nice and clean. Thank you.

Breakfast is very good, but more Gluten free option would be appreciated. Even just toast so people could have scrambled eggs on toast. GF bread is usually long life and can freeze so it shouldn't be a problem.

If you're up for cheap beer then The Spoons is the place. Download the app and you can see what they have on offer. Sometimes it's a bit hit and miss but mostly there is something on that fits the bill. Cheap food too and the heating is on. I think it's probably cheaper to sit in the spoons than heat your house at the moment.

Staff were fantastic and the room was excellent! The bed was huge as was the room itself, the bathroom was also spacious which included a shower and bath. Breakfast served from 7am, I had a large, which set me up for the day. Really couldn't fault my visit here this weekend

Left a restaurant as didn’t get served. Came here instead, tried ordering on the app but said mixed grill was unavailable. Went to the bar and they said it was. Food arrived hot, staff were friendly and accommodating.

Is a nice pub, food is great and has a huge variety of drinks including alcohol free and local beers. With the third wave of Covid they are doing table service and is nice and quick...food comes out fast and the drinks are nice and cold. I will definitely visit again.

With the reputation weatherspoons has got, I could say my expectations were higher than normal for pub grub. Went to this place under recommendation from a friend for breakfast with a friend a toddler. Food took a while to come out, we ended up spending around 2 hrs there from entry to exit. I had an all day breakfast (sausage, chips, egg and beans) was exactly what came out on my plate, wouldn't call that a breakfast but its what what was described as all day breakfast on the menu. Food was less than average on my plate, under done fried eggs as in egg white near yolk still raw, average chips which look like wholesale chilled chips from Bookers, Sausage overdone, beans minimal and cold. The toddler enjoyed hers (Chicken nuggets and chips) and my friend enjoyed hers ( chicken burger and chips) if I remember correctly. Ordered spicy wings, no spice to them but nice flavour. The Halloumi cheese was ment to be grilled but looks like it was put on a searing hot grill for a second to get black grill lines, came out bland rubber with a hint of burn. Refill of coffee was good though. Maybe I just got this place on a bad day, but it would be hard to convince me to order the same thing from that place again. Honestly this place ranks the LOWEST out of all breakfasts I have had. That's saying something since I travel all over eating breakfast from everywhere from diners, drive ins and dives being someone in a trade career all tradies will understand this. MEGS van in Wicks car park does a better breakfast! The reason for a 3 star and not a 1 was the following reasons. 1: Bar staff and Servers are polite and friendly. 2: Staff and customers were very patient with the toddler playing up. 3: My friend and the toddler enjoyed thier meals. Three reasons 3 stars. Still for the price it looks like the food is all wholesale from Bookers, not much if anything is looks or tastes of made in house quality. Not worth it judging from the meal I had. Would have said something but under request of my friend asking not to make a scene I eat what was edible then left.

It's been a few years since we visited the Wyndham Arms and I can tell you, its all positive. Friendly staff food is excellent, are two favourites are the full breakfast for a morning visit and try the steak if venturing out in the evening. Very satisfied would definitely recommend.

Quality of the food and drink was ok BUT wearing of masks and social distancing was hit and miss. Two doors clearly marked as 'Entrance Only' and 'Exit Only' were being ignored. They were quite busy and didn't have enough staff to cope with everything required. Service was friendly and helpful and even as i ordered online , the meals arrived fairly promptly. Thanks Guys.

Typical Wetherspoon's - good variety of drink, affordably priced and a traditional pub. Food isn't amazing but it's ok and cheap. Lots of nice old photos of Bridgend to look at which is a nice touch.

I love spoons, I go to the local spoons in every town I visit. This one had a weird layout and a weird vibe. Everyone staired when I walked in and then they did an annoying noisy pub quiz, I just wanted to have a private conversation and it was really difficult. I don't think they had a PRS licence for the music in the pub quiz either.

Staff a really helpful. In tgses trying times we had to wait outside in a queue for a while but thats tge same for all customers. We have been there twice in recent days and have no complaints about tge food always hot and fresh and a free drink with certain meals does help. In some ways having less people in the place makes it more appealing not to overcrowded. Very popular place to eat and drink. No parking however as this place is in the centre of town.

I like to treat myself to a breakfast every friday morning, though I'll probably be giving it a miss from now on, the toast and tomato are always burnt, when I comment, they offer to replace but also explain that the auto toaster which rotates does not toast it enough if fed through once and burns if put through a 2nd time, no explanation offered for the tomato, they don't always have brown sauce and the tables have crumbs and recent cup stains. The other week my fork had dried food still on it. I'm reluctant to accept replacements for all these, as you cannot see what they are capable of doing to them, behind closed doors. Plenty of other places to eat in Bridgend.
