Reviews of Three Golden Cups Pub and Campsite
T. A.
The pub was fantastic, lovely food and clean drinks. Outside area clean with lots of seating. Under cover seating if it gets a bit wet.
The camping field, for 25£ a night this place is not too bad. The amenities where clean, hot water showers and kitchen area. Grey water waste area too. Bin inc recycling available.
The field is ok, wheel ramps are a must.
All in all this was a good place to stay, close to the shore line for walking, lovely pub food and drink. Hot showers available.
Well worth a stay.
L. D.
Nice quiet food with a good selection of dishes.
I had the Korean chicken burger which was lovely.
Pub is located on a wonderful part of the coast with great walks close by.
B. J.
Superb food.Great portions. So nice to have a number of vegetarian mains options too.
Very reasonably priced. We had no room for desserts but shall return to sample as they sounded delicious and all were home made. The staff were so helpful and friendly.
So good to find a restaurant that serves meals all day. We turned up 4.30 on a dark November Thursday and received a warm welcome in the cosy, nicely decorated dining room.
(Impressed with the outdoor seating too, well covered for showers)
Dog friendly too!
Highly recommended.

BEST PUB EVER! Myself and about 30 other friends who had visited the Forest Festival in Merthyr Mawr were looking for a place to visit after the festival shut at 8pm. A friend of ours suggested this pub and we only intended on going in for a drink and to play some cards. However the two servers behind the bar let us control the music in the dining room since it was empty and we had a little dance inside the pub. They were so kind and really accommodating. I would 100% recommend this pub for their kindness and hospitality. We all had a wonderful evening.
D. R.
Had a wonderful time sunday Bank Holiday, great music/ band, busy but OK
The toilets are very small.
Drinks needed to be cooler but they had ice.
A. L.
Booked here for a motorcycle camping weekend, chosen at random, could not be more pleased with our choice. Busy pub, nice range of beers, good food and great service. Campsite good, quite times observed, facilities good and clean. Walking distance to the beach. Will be back as great roads to ride, more to see & visit in the area.
L. B.
What a lovely experience! We arrived at lunchtime and were seated straight away by a really lovely lady who was friendly, helpful and funny. My other half is quite picky and was asking lots of questions and she answered patiently and knowledgeably. The food arrived quickly and was really fresh and tasted amazing. I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!
L. M.
Booked last minute for a night to get away camping, ended staying 3nights that says it all.
Local couple have taken over pub and camp site recently and doing great job, both are really helpful and genuine. Camp site is great, toilets, showers, washing facilities.
Pub is great all staff cheerful and chatty and make you feel at home. Will definitely be coming back with the kids. Recommend to anyone
G. J.
First time coming here. The staff were great. What a lovely little restaurant. We sat by the window with the sun coming in and ended up staying longer than anticipated as it was such a lovely atmosphere. The prices were great for the home made food. We'll definitely be popping back in next time we go to Ogmore. We also took a flyer regarding their camping field, the price for the night was only £25 with onsite showers etc. Will be booking in the summer.
J. S.
A nice looking pub. We came here after a long day on the coast for a drink and maybe some food. Unfortunately they had stopped serving food when we arrived.
We felt a little in the way and out of place here as the bartender was not very responsive or friendly and stayed chatting with the other customers who seemed to be regulars at the bar. Very much felt that we were in their space but hopefully this was a one off. Willing to give this place another try when they are selling food and see what it could offer in terms of better service
N. Y.
Three Golden Cups, 5 golden stars! The campsite is in an awesome location being 2 mins from the beach and 20 seconds from the pub. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and the food was brilliant. A great selection of beers and the kids are still talking about the Korean burger days after our stay. We can definitely recommend a visit!
C. L.
Such a lovely local pub and wonderful campsite. Been visiting there fortnightly for 2 years now. Since the original owners have left, it's lost a bit of character, but the new owners are as good as gold! Simply refuse to have a Guinness anywhere else.
D. L.
Great location not far from the beach. We stayed for a bank holiday weekend and were blessed with lovely weather. We didn't eat there but beers nice and staff friendly.
Campsite is mainly flat. Toilets were clean. Showers really struggled at peak times but were fine when only a couple were being used.
D. L.
Very popular with families staying at the campsite. Outdoor seating is great for an evening pint in the sunshine.
J. W.
Went a couple of times while camping down the road. The home made pies were out of this world delicious. Good range of beers and ciders on tap and lovely staff. Will definitely return.
J. B.
Cheap at £25 per night, but you get what you pay for. Site is uneven and no-one to advise on position to set up. Toilets and showers need upgrading, water pressure very low if a few are showering at same time. Ladies toilets are somewhat dilapidated, maybe end of season wear and tare showing. No-one came round at all in our stay over bank holiday, so guessing security bit lax, focus seems to be on pub.
Don't think we'll use site again, but loved our adventure on beach and walks around Southerndown. Be warned, absolutely no signal for mobile anywhere, and paid WiFi a bit steep😱
E. G.
Lovely pub with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Lots of outside seating, plus separate dinning room and a bar area.
K. D.
1st time here for a Sunday roast. Whilst the staff were lovely, sadly the food for most of us was cold. Sunday roast should be hot to say the least. Plates cold, so that probably didn't help.
E. M.
Amazing services and food in pub. Nice clean campsite, solid toilets and showers. Nice views of cliffs onto sea.
K. L.
A truly wonderful country pub. Welcoming and warm staff. Beautifully decorated interior and exterior. Surprise adjoining camping site owned by the pub, which we will be using and of course stunning food. Real first class. Low prices £5-15 meals.
P. C.
Went here for a Fathers day lunch and were really impressed with the service from the attentive ladies and the food.
The food was Really tasty. My Thai salmon fish cakes were delicious, soft and full of flavour.
They were Willing to alter my son's meal to suit him and make him happy.
My wife's king prawn starter was and I quote "Amazing ".
The deserts were all very tasty as well.
S. T.
Kerry was very welcoming and provided excellent service. The food was served promptly and hot and delicious. Would highly recommend.
N. Y.
Great food in a warm and welcoming pub. Good value for money and main restaurant nice and clean, comfortable and homely feel. Dogs are welcome but only in the bar side of the pub which is not to the same standard as the main restaurant area. Bar area is a lot more social club orientated rather that a restaurant and a little lacking in seating. However, the food is amazing for the cost and we could not fault it. Generous portions and good food quality. I would recommend the pork belly and the chicken pie. Also the cheesy garlic bread is amazing. Would recommend but shame dogs aren't allowed in the bar area in the main restaurant side.
M.
magic place for a trip with friends, family or on your own. breathtaking atmosphere, incredible view, great beaches, long cliffs. you can get there by bus from Bridgend or by car. the pub is nice and lovely, but obviously the waiting time for meal orders is quite long because of lots of people there.
L. S.
I've been going to this pub for years (indeed, I used to work there many moons ago) but it never loses its charm. The staff are always enthusiastic and happy to help, and the beer and food are spot on after a day down the beach. If you're tempted to drop in, do it, and enjoy the view across the channel enjoying a tidy beer.
Also, the beer choices usually include a selection of local and craft ales, which is always nice to see. One gets tired of endless peroni/doom bar.
M. J.
Reluctant to leave this review because I don't want to encourage others to take up a the space!! Absolute hiden gem, amazing location , lovely site with pub 30 secs from pitch!! I will be revisiting, for me, best location in the Vale!!
L. l.
Lovely pub and relaxed camping field with toilets and porta showers within a walk of the beach.
G. T.
AMAZING place, campsite spotless, toilets and showers lovely, hot water, glorious views from our tent, pub and restaurant gorgeous and food WOW, staff very freindly, what a fab place and not far to go. Dogs accepted also, and bq 's allowed. Quiet get away what more do you need. Deffinatly go back there, thankyou 3 golden cups.
S. f.
Great food, kids portions were definitely big enough for us, adult options were too big.
Outdoor area was great and a great stop after a trip to the beach
P. M.
Busy pub, but always seems to have seats. Amazing homemade pies, friendly staff. And nice to see it dog friendly. Closer to the beach and campsite too
R. M.
Lovely restaurant pub situated close to Dunraven Bay. Pub offers a wide range menu including home cooked options. Also the establishment offers camping in adjacent field, and features a large outdoor seating area.
Friendly and helpful staff. Would visit again.
P. R.
I had been here before, the parking is perfectly secluded. Great pub for a dog kept on a leash as of the main road. I remember as the Bus stop spoilt the view. I wish they place a bench with cushions and maybe a portrait or landscape of the further beyond the stop onto the wall of the brick made sheltered stop. I highly recommend the Handmade burgers, which we were not expecting the sides each of chips. We ordered a side of onion rings which we all enjoyed, even the Pandora Pekingese Dog with fresh water for her. Friendly community atmosphere who make you feel welcome, even having a discussion on LGBT issues. I have respect for this place of enjoyment. Decor is quaint and traditional with some great cosy spots. On the other side is the Games Room for the energetic with a Pool Table for extra, the enjoyment here is endless. Thank you Staff at The Three Golden Cups.
G. S.
A lovely stop near the beach and right at the bus stop. Super helpfully and friendly staff. Quite impressive gluten free and vegetarian menu. They also have alcohol free and GF beer. We had three bean chili was really good. There is a campsite behind looks pretty neat. Would love to try next time.
K. W.
Seems to have expanded since I last visited ,campsite seems to be doing well, couldn't get on with any of the Real Ales,to hoppy for me,drunk Cider instead, liked the canopy in the Beer Garden/Car Park area,Staff were very busy on the Day we visited, but seemed to cope, can't comment on Food as we didn't have any, will return once the School Holidays have finished, K
A. H.
Nice quite pub and if you like camping they have camp site in the feild next door soo u can have a swift pint of 10 and fall straight into your tent
N. M.
Had lovely food here the bar lady went above and beyond for me and my family couldn’t recommend here enough xx
S. G.
Enjoyed the home cooked food. But the fish in batter was tasting watery batter was nice but the fish has no flavour..
but the rest of the food we has was lovely , the staff very friendly.
Pub food is rated 4 star..
dogs are aloud in the bar area which is nice to see..
A lovely clean pub would recommend as plenty more to try out from the menu .
You get a lot on your plate for the money ..
J. G.
Great food and helpful staff who were happy to inform us about there campsite which we intent to return to next summer
m. s.
This place was amazing, we were a large family group with adults and kids. The staff were attentive and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food, oh the food was fantastic! Asked for extra Yorkshires, yes no problem was the reply and they were proper ones, nothing frozen about this meal. Also the desserts were amazing! Huge portions and the apple crumble I had was top notch.
Can't believe I haven't been before and will go again!
D.
Walked along the coastal path and around Dunraven, then came here for lunch, dog friendly great staff and food
D. G.
Amazing food in the golden cups great service by the lovely Kerry she couldn’t do enough for us during our meal.. will be returning soon .. many thanks x
C. R.
I was part of a large table. They served us quickly with drink, and the food came out at the same time for all of us. There was four children and eleven adults. All the food was absolutely amazing, the staff were super friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back there again.
D. P.
Should be a 5. Food was excellent as it always has been but really really slow to order and be served. Nice walk down to Southerndown Beach from there
j. j.
Celebrated my 66th birthday today with family & friends at the Three Golden Cups. Excellent food
although we had a few hiccups with the order regarding availability of deserts. This was quickly remedied. Many thanks to staff & management.
R. A.
Very nice down to earth pub 👍
S. V.
Unexpected Stopped for lunch and there was a bbq on in the garden. Absolutely superb quality, price and service. We will be back
P. D.
Good value for money, ideally situated right at the top of the road, next right or left is Southerndown beach.
M. G.
Always busy on sunny days. Shouldn't be a surprise because of the location near the beach. Generally OK, but the wc facilities get trashed quickly in the busy hours. To be fair to the staff, on sunny days, traffic is always so high in the pub that you would need a small army to manage it
S. M.
My family and I have just eaten at the 3 golden cups, the food was very good , the veg tasted very fresh and the main courses were very well cooked. The service was excellent. We were a party of 11 and they had no problem fitting us in . We would all highly recommend eating here and we will definitely visit again.
C. S.
Really lovely little pub. Lovely location and very friendly. My only criticism would be the bar area could do with a bit of an update. As it felt more like a cafe ... food was OK and on a sunny day the outside area is great.
L. G.
Never had a bad pie here, never had a bad meal in fact until recently.
Had a tuna baguette and for £7 I felt robbed 😂. It wasn't great, maybe its just me but I am fussy with some brands of Tuna and Mayo but £7 I did expect it to taste better.
Don't let that put you off though, just something to avoid of the menu. Stick to the pies, great location, allows dogs, serves coffee. Ideal for a pit stop when having a walk down Southerndown.
A. L.
Omg. The fish and chips was awesome.and the icecream was out of this world xxx will definitely be back soon xxx
T. C.
Amazing chicken burger, staff very friendly and professional with great atmosphere.
D. S.
Good food. Their pie's are amazing. Friendly staff. Dog friendly in the bar side. Outside seating.
K. N.
Excellent food and a real fire, super dog friendly
A. R.
Lovely and polite staff but not too attentive on the main bar.
Me and my friend were very impressed with the food and how they put up with my crazy dog! Lovely pub would highly recommend.
H. R.
Seemed nice people. No masks worn during service to customers. A lot of work being carried on which may have been essential. You would have thought that somebody would have explained this to the customers and apologised as the noise drowned the conversation at the table Pity as the pub has character. Food is good.
K. L. (.
Gutted I didn't get any pics of this evening and also gutted to hear the current owners are selling on, after 18 yrs. Only just found this lil gem and the owners are leaving in a wk ☹
The staff were very attentive and wow!!!!... the homemade cheesecake was to die for.
Enjoy your new adventure
I. M.
Always a relaxing place...plenty of car park space....adjacent campsite for tents and tourers.
Lots of outdoor tables and a friendly/warm atmosphere inside. Variety of good quality foods served and pleasant staff.... recommended.
J. G.
What a wonderful find. Kerry and David were delightful hosts. We a two "proper" pies, the vension and chicken, and they were awesome. When we travel this way again, we will be sure to stop in and pint, some pies, and great conversation.
G. I.
Really lovely staff, great location and the food was so good just like the other reviews said. The food was presented amazingly. Would definitely return.
n. f.
Great good, friendly staff. Always enjoy our visits here
C. C.
Lovely caring staff. Great lasagne with salad and garlic bread. Glamorgan beer good too. Very enjoyable place after a day walking.
E. s.
Bit of a bonkers place - feels more like a cafe than a pub inside - but great location after a walk along the cliffs and the roasts did look great (will be back to try these!)
M. D.
Nice little place with very friendly staff, I think we ate all the bacon buns they had, and they were very tasty bacon buns indeed! It's dog friendly as well so you can take your pooch with you inside.
m. s.
Stayed here end of June, it was quiet at that time (three other camping groups int eh place) and the facilities were pretty good for a campsite.
I’ve been to some horrors.
Close walk down to the beach and although a small town the pub wasn’t the only choice for food. Would definitely stop by again, good value for money.
A. M.
Nice outdoor area. Off road parking. Close to the beach. Nice food and drink
C. S.
Me and the wife had lunch there and we both loved it the food was superb we will go back again, oh yes nice beer, if you are over that way give it a try,,
T. H.
Stayed 2 nights in campervan. No hookup and field a bit uneven but lovely location. Food and staff at pub were great. Charlotte very welcoming on arrival and booked us in. Toilets were clean and although didn't use showers, cubicles were clean. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
W. W.
Great to see a small pub/restaurant was so busy in these times! Social distancing good and we got served and seated quickly. The food was amazing and plenty of it. Thank you 👍
S. O.
Nice pub to pop into after a day at Southerndown beach. Really nice outdoor area, nice drinks, and staff were great (even went and got water for our dog).
Food looked really good as well when being served to others! If we didn't have to get home I think we'd have ordered!
S. F.
Food excellent, campsite good although facilities are basic and no dedicated elsan point so you have to use the disabled toilet which has a hose pipe that you can use. Not ideal but it works. Brilliant location for the coastal path and beaches. Can be noisy but people generally adhere to the 11pm cut off and it's lovely to see the kids all mixing and enjoying playing together.
J. D.
The pie really is wonderful! We had a lovely stay. 😊
R. W.
Great location with fantastic views, ideal for stopping in for a few pints looking over the coast. Also they offer top quality food in their restaurant with service to match.
A.
Great place for a drink, but the food wasn't great. We had Hunters Chicken and Cheeseburger. Seemed to get really cold quite quickly. Would go back for a drink though.
F. R.
Fabulous welcome by the staff, couldn't do enough for us. The food (chicken in white wine sauce) was incredible. Very cosy place and we thoroughly enjoyed.
M. R.
Great pub food. Staff are lovely.
Go here once every few months.
Would sooner give my money to well run local business than use a chain pub/restaurant
Yesterday I had, starters Mushrooms in white wine, cream and (loads of garlic) sauce.
Main, chicken, ham and leek pie with veg chips and gravy.
My partner had Creamy Cajun chicken breast. Both meals excellent.
Booked for meal just after Christmas also.
Please give them a try if you are passing.
D. B.
Lovely place to eat an drink, great staff. Food good, had venison pie, chive mash, good pieces of meat in pie. Wife had minted lamb burger, proper burger and the chips were chunky and perfect
J. R.
Passable dishes (my lamb burger was quite nice). Cricket on a big screen - a plus. Some of the better toilets I've seen on our trip to Wales too. Would go again.
C. C.
Nice simple campsite on a beautiful part of the Welsh coast. Great pub with friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for a campsite in the area.
A. G.
Good food, we had beef and pork roast dinners and there was plenty! The Track and Trace forms were a good idea for those who don't like their details visible to all. A one-way system was effective and there was a full bowl of clean water for our dog next to the outdoor tables. The camp site looks nice too, though it's a very windy place!
p. f.
Bloody good food, Carling was well kept.
Decent one way systemin place, plus all the "hand face space" stuff for covid related shenanigans.
Great view from the garden too. Staff were quick, food was hot, beer was good.
L. W.
Friendly staff, great service and good food
R. W.
Had a lovely meal here last night, the food was delicious and it's a lovely welcoming pub on a nice part of the coast.
S. S.
My sister and I travelled to Cardiff for the weekend and decided to go and see Dunraven bay. Very hungry, we stopped for lunch at this pub and had a really lovely meal! Well-priced, friendly and good food! Covid-19 precautions well thought out too. Lovely pub!
D. D.
The facilities were closed due to the pandemic, so it was a big field, some take out beer and cider (beautiful too!) Bathed in gorgeous sunshine! What's not to like. Quite pricey but great for convenience, so fair enough. We'll be back😃
J. D.
Food a little greasy, most things in batter it seems, friendly staff, nice pub.
R. B.
Called today with my wife. We ordered the crab ciabatta and fish and chips. Food and service was exellent we always go there on our way back from ogmore by sea. It's a fantastic pub so are all the staff. Compliments to the chef. Also great choice of drinks.
B.
Really lovely pub.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was really good - I had mussels which were NOT rubbery, tasted very fresh.
Husband had homemade steak pie and there was PLENTY of steak in it.
4* is cos the outside seating area was a bit shabby. Toilets lovely. And water on tap outside for dogs.
In a lovely spot.
P. d. M.
Some confusion over the service. One of my sisters asked at the bar for a menu and was told she'd need to join the queue.
However, whilst we were queuing she saw another customer come in through the exit door and just take a menu.
I ordered from the specials board w/out realising there was a regular menu; if I'd known I'd have ordered one of the meals from the latter.
No matter, as the venison pie I had was quite acceptable - meaty and well-filled. I was also pleased I was able to have new potatoes with it, rather than chips.
m. d.
Cracking food. Loads of it. At a fair price. I had the Steak and Ale pie. Stuffed with big chunks of meat. Wife had Tuna mayo baguette. That had loads of filling. Son had a big piece of Gammon with 2 egg's. All with beautifully cooked chips. All of our food was cooked just right. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You'd be daft not to go there.
A. S.
We went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon on my husband's birthday. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. He was able to taste a couple of ales before committing to Atlantic Pale Ale. They also had 2 non-alcoholic lagers (great for Designated Driver but not always available in country pubs). The menu was great lots of variety but being beside the seaside we chose simple fish and chips. The batter was excellent, rich colour and crispy as one would hope. Chips good, we had fries as opposed to the triple cooked chips. but we did ask for extra chips to supplement our portions for which we were not charged. The dessert was phenomenal a delicious banoffee pie. Fresh cream would have topped it off better than squirty but it didn't detract from the joy... they even popped a candle in it ❤
Heartily recommend!
O. R.
Ok food. Initially told most things on menu can be gluten free......except lasagne.....chicken burger......fish........etc etc basically u could have vegan option veggie option or ham egg and chips or an expensive steak. Was disappointed with choice even when not GF though chips were very yummy. Husband had the chicken burger and said was lovely. No salad options for lunch 😕 also help yourself to cutlery? Is this covid friendly not when u have to touch everyone else's knives and folks. It was pleasant enough but won't return in the near future though I may try camping in the field behind as that looked fairly decent. IMO improve choice on menu, staff have better knowledge of GLUTEN free and serve the knives and folks as expected when ever you eat out. Also shame you can't see the sea from the patio, raised decking would be amazing.
d. g.
Had meal there on Thur. Could not fault it at all. Lasagne, garlic bread ,chips. All delicious. Will definitely visit again soon.
M. M.
Decent pub food looks good.
S. L.
Great beer and food. Friendly and helpful staff. Sunday lunch is AMAZING.
j. B.
Food was amazing and the staff were lovely
G. P.
Lovely place! The food was delicious, nice service and also dog friendly!
L. H.
Busy pub with good food. Mid sized car park. Views over Severn.
C. J.
Very clean and cosy. During our visit I got given the wrong drink. Menu selection is on a
Plain A4 sheet of paper so viewing your order is a no go. But the fish is well worth the money. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Easy access but would not be comfortable with a wheelchair. WC very clean.
Room for improvement. (Keep the Chef).
W. C.
Was very disappointed with Sunday lunch, Ordered lamb dinner and it came with mash ? Wasn't offered different potatoes. Gravy used to be home made but was bisto ..maybe new owners?but will try again as it may have been a one off
A. M.
Best pub in the Vale of Glamorgan
Y. T.
We stayed at their campsite for 2 nights and everything was really well oraginsed! Very friendly people, really good pub food! Will definitely recommend!
a. s. c.
Lovely food, friendly service, clean, lovely surroundings, hope to camp there this year
C. W.
Fantastic find! Camped for. Couple of nights here which was lovely and had great clean facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent food at the pub also. There was even two vegan options, so I was very happy. Will definitely be going again.
C. z.
visited the pub not campsite, food quick, reasonably priced and decent quality and quantity. Good place for a pit stop before tackling some local walking.
A. F.
great place near a great beach totally unspoilt. 8 of us dined and couldnt fault any of the meals, 4 adults and 4 kids. 3 courses with a couple of drinks each roughly £25/head. be warned though... if you do a starter and main you will probably struggle with dessert!
P. H.
Recommended so we thought we would have a meal there and we were not disappointed lovely place and lovely staff and very enjoyable food hopefully we will return before we go back home
j.
Great pub grub! Friendly service and a reasonably priced menu, well presented, good pub food and plenty of it!
b. 1.
Lovely place to eat. Well priced and great portions. Good selection. Nice to go to a pub and not have the usual boring chain pub menu. Only a few minutes from the beach.
E. C.
lovely place, nice people, yummy lunch.
N. H.
The food was delicious, the service was great and it was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back, we would love to camp here too, so close to the beach!
J. J.
Walked up to the pub having been to the bay.
We'd grabbed a taxi down to the area and the chap said the pub was a goodun.
Got to agree with him, had three brilliant belly pork's and a classic bread and butter pudding friends had the trio.
Really friendly staff too.
Would definitely come again if in the area
D. J.
Great service, great pub, young chap by the name of David behind the bar was great and good looking as well 🙂
P. A.

Stopped by, travelling to weekend away destination in Porthcawl. A welcoming, clean pub. Menu stated all home cooked food, and it really is! Specials boards offer amazing choices. Hearty portions so well worth the price, which consequently is more than reasonable for the quality of freshly cooked food. Relaxing atmosphere during the day, offering a cosy ambience. Would definately recommend a visit if you're ever driving by.
R. W.
Lovely friendly staff and delicious food! Will definitely be back
P. T.
Fabulous food and very friendly staff really quick service really enjoyed
S. L.
An Unmissable stop on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The Three Golden Cups is centuries old with a wonderful history. If you visit the beautiful area of Southerndown you cannot possibly not visit. Whether you sit outside in the beer garden or enjoy the warm atmosphere of the inside spaces you won't be disappointed. Very welcoming hosts and staff and the added benefit of a dog friendly bar for those who love to have a romp on the local beaches. In addition to all this the restaurant serves wonderful home cooked meals. Well worth a visit any time of year. We have enjoyed the delicious Sunday roasts whenever we have the chance.
J. P.
An amazing camp sight it was clean and tidy same for the facilities very quiet the pub and restaurant was very nice the staff was very helpful and happy my daughter heard the chef singing away she like that
I. E.
Valentines day evening meal exceptional meal..company. .owners/ staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was reasonably priced and the cheesy garlic bread was to die for.
A real Diamond of a public house.
Many thanks.
C. J.
Lovely pub and camping site. We had excellent Sunday lunch, and great beer and friendly atmosphere on the Saturday night. Everybody was really friendly, and the food is much better than standard pub grub.
T. G.
Fantastic pub, good honest food for the money. The staff are very friendly go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable time . Looking forward to going back.
D. P.
Great food for all! At least 6 vegetarian/vegan options and countless meat options were available. Serving staff were very friendly and helpful. WC was very clean. Perfect stop after Dunraven Bay!
S. H.
Nice pub, great atmosphere
K. E.
Great campsite and pub , nice pub food. And a new addition Froth, coffee bar , really lovely to wake up in the campsite knowing there was coffee and croissants available .
H. A.
Difficult review to make for me as the Pub is combined with the campsite. We booked for two nights on the campsite which on first impressions looked lovely especially with the two permanent bell tents in the centre of the field. Unfortunately they were occupied by two noisy families with 8 kids who thought it was acceptable to up drinking, laughing and joking with very loud voices up to 2am. I complained next day in the pub and I assumed the member of staff would have had a word with them. No next night was the same so at 1am I rang the owner, who to his credit shouted at them much much louder than they were making, stating he had had 4 complaints that night.
It might have just been where we were pitched In a 6 man tent ( flat bit, directly about 30m through the gate) but there seemed to be hardcore about 2" deep on every peg. Might have been unlucky but I suspect there was a structure there at some point in history, the surface was soft and level though.
The toilet block was the real letdown for me, the first morning I visited I was totally shocked at the lack of cleanliness, bearing in mind this was the first week that lockdown had allowed Pubs and campsites to open. I would have thought that in the time that this had been shut down due to government restrictions they would have had plenty of the to give it a good clean up but no, the basins had black mould in the overflows, plug holes and plugs, windows were closed and covered in dust, loo roll holders were covered in dust. It really needed a deep clean, when I took my pics the chap who was checking them every hour or so saw me taking photos and after that a skinny chap with wavy hair was backwards and forwarding to the block carrying cleaning products. I assumed he was giving it a good clean but no, It still had the black mould in the orifices and dust and grime in the toilets (this was the male block by the way).
Showers were okay, I only tried the left one which was temperature adjustable but drained very slowly so you had lots of water at your feet, they are festival showers and need a couple more hooks to hang up your clothes on the door any the perished shower curtains are full of hole need replacing.
The middle one isn't temperature adjustable and was too hot for me (with sunburnt shoulders) push button type that you press every 30 secs.
Didn't try the one one the right.
Washing up facilities were brill.
We got a bit confused with the recycling instructions on the gate to the pub as there were a plethora of blue bins behind it so tossed our recycling in them but later discovered there is a dedicated recycling point in the pub car park. I did see the owner ring somebody when he noticed our unintended littering.
Now for the Pub.
Mixed feelings, it was a bank holiday weekend so unusual times and with the Covid restrictions released could be hit and miss.
I rang up a few days before our visit to try to book a table for 7 on the bank holiday Monday and was told they weren't taking bookings, it was first come first served. So we wandered down at 7pm to be told they weren't serving food now! Had to order Domino's Pizza from Bridgend, which was delicious by the way.
We had a couple of nice pints of Golden something, it was nice and a first pub pint for a long while.
The Pub was well organized with a one way system, the next night (Tuesday) we sent a child down to check when food service ended and she ran back rather quickly to say 18:30. We made it down in time, just and the food was great but we didn't notice that the burgers came with fries so over ordered extra fries
Maybe it's just lockdown and craziness but I expect a pub to serve food until 9pm.
We will go again as the beach is lush but please give the toilet block a proper clean
R. C.
Lovely views, clean showers and toilet block, washing up area and water. No electric or toilet waste facilities if in a campervan/caravan.frienly site staff and nice pub with good food. Bus stop opposite the pub, lovely half mile stroll to the beach. The best thing is the peace and quiet and views if the sea. Nothing much for children tjough.
G. O.
If you're looking for standard pub grub to fill you up at a reasonable cost then this should do you. However its certainly not on par with any decent country pub. Its totally standard on everything which isn't a negative thing, you simply get what you pay for. If you want a more up market meal then perhaps this isn't the place for you.
k. j.
Lovely place. Really enjoyed the food and drink and even the sheep that kept crossing the road in front of the pub
D.
A lovely campsite, in a great location with beautiful walks on the doorstep. The pricing was a bit steep (as it was the weekend) but the staff said that if I'd phoned and booked directly with the campsite, I'd have paid less than booking on Pitchup. Bear that in mind.
Portable showers tend to flood a bit too, but they do the job.
G. E.
Just popped in on Tuesday and had lunch (lamb cawl)was just what I needed on a cold winter's day lovely hospitality even in these hard times will definitely be back for a bigger bowl 👍👍
S. P.
We went to the golden cups pub for some dinner and wasn't disappointed. I had a ploughmans and my hubby had a the one chicken leek and ham pie. It was proper food not like the chain pub's you get.will definitely go again.
D. T.
We came on the off chance as recommend by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Food was delicious, plentiful and piping hot. Excellent value for money, we will be back, thank you 3 golden cups for an excellent meal and fabulous service!
M. L.

Very friendly - got excellent licensed (of course) take away kitchen as well, for a nice reward for trekking down THE HILL and BACK to Dunravon Beach and back! 😊
P. T.
Great service as always love the place
D. J.
I love that name and I expected something extra there but it s normal local pub, no special offers, no special design, but good place where to relax and stop especially if you travel like me....no special plan, a bit lost in the evening with a dog on South Wales exploring travel, I did not know where to go, no signal and after amazing beach walk needed internet and a coke. I ve got everything, I found my place where to stay over night and was happy to find The Three Golden Cups. I m giving 4 stars just because they should keep this place more tidy. But staff is welcoming and no worries to pop in there.
P. R.
As a campsite/ beach pub it works well, well staffed , friendly, surprisingly good quality food, good beer...and makes the most of its circumstances...if not the most attractive of surroundings. But a good visit, and will go again..
L. G.
Always friendly helpful staff fresh cooked veggie soup on a cold day wonderful after a wild sea swim :-)
C. M.
Great pub on site with good beers and great value, tasty food. Decent showers and toilets too, and we practically had the place to ourselves mid-week in June!
K. R.
Been to a lot more comfortable places to be honest, it was quite cold in the bar area with tables that needed to be cleaned dogs are welcome and so I feel this place is more for dog walkers than to just call in for a pint if you have a dog this is the place to go
D. W.
Fabulous food served here....but keep it a secret we dont want everyone turning up at once......
Edit, after coming back again and again all summer and always having great meals we visited today, 10 November, service was absolutely amazing they couldn't do more for us and the Sunday lunch was simply the best pub lunch I have ever had.
