Nice reverb on the pub and quite warm inside however 5 staff were all standing behind the bar and only one serving .. the rest were chatting and one young lady was eating a pot of jelly behind the bar !!!! Come on guys that can’t be right !!!.. where is the hygiene in that ??? Young man didn’t have a clue how to pull beer .. more training required I would say . Food was much improved so good on that front . Better clothing required for the staff .. Will try again in a few weeks

Friendly staff, good service, food was lovely , I didn't want bbq sauce on hunters chicken and they did it so shows food cooked to order not prepacked like many places, good to see

We we went when it was quiet. Enjoyed our food, only quibble is the veg is slighly over cooked and not very warm, but we did enjoy what we had to eat was lovely, but other wise very friendly staff and very clean pub..

Christmas meal. Was lovely. But lacking some of the stable components that make a roast dinner. We had meat and 3 roasts on our plate, and a Yorkshire pudding if you had beef... and stuffing if you had turkey... we was brought out a sharing platter of sprouts, broccoli and carrots. I feel as it was a brains pub and people tend to expect wholesome foods at these kind of pubs. That they was missing the market here. Food that was missing, but if was offered to us, would have raised the ratings on this review : like peas, mash potatoes, Yorkshire puddings for the turkey eaters and roasted parsnips would have been nice too. 😁 But overall what food we did have was cooked and seasoned well. Tasted good. The puddings and starters was lovely too. Out of 16 of us, no one had a bad word to say about the food, and all said they enjoyed. Thanks. Not sure would go again for Christmas meal. But have been many a time for an everyday menu meal and that is lovely and as expected. 😁

Go here for a Sunday Roast. Best one I've had out for a long while and in a friendly, traditional pub. Good service and chatty locals. Dad and I both had the veggie option which was swede and parsnip rosti, and very tasty. My only suggestion is to make sure veggie gravy is available too. We'll definitely be coming back. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

We went here recently ,and the biggest downside was the portion of vegetables for 3 people ! Another table with 2 diners had the same portion . A shame because the food was nice ,vegetarian sausages lovely, but probably wouldn't visit again .Roast potatoes rather than mash which might put some people off .

Lovely evening here on Tuesday. Beth the manager was great and very welcoming. Covid rules in place and made us feel safe. Kally served us and was amazing. Very warm inciting pub. Food was delicious and great value for money.

Excellent pub in the beautiful little village of Coychurch. Great atmosphere and very well run since under new management. The staff are always friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. I take my family here every week for Sunday lunch and we are always delighted with our meals. The pub has a traditional feel which is lost in so many pubs these days. Excellent value for money and lots of choice on the menu. Five stars from me!

As we go here regularly for food we booked Christmas Day however it was disappointing..doors were still locked five minutes before our table was booked, very disorganised staff still rushing around laying tables. The food itself was fine however there were no special touches or extra effort in presentation. Staff were dressed down in jeans and crop tops, no Christmas music, very cheap table decs etc. no drink on arrival which is usually standard at other venues. Waited an eternity for our coffee at end of meal Bar was open to public however I think staff would have coped much better with Christmas bookings if bar was closed during the dinner service. Wouldn't book Christmas Day here again however it's fine for daily menu any other time.

Wedding Party Had a segregated part of the pub, decor, music and hot buffet provided by the White Horse. Nicely decorated, food was tasty, staff were friendly. Car park big enough for guests to park. Tea and coffee provided with the buffet as a help your self, very convenient.

A really lovely pub to spend time with your mates. I love it above all in the summer. No problems for parking your car. No idea about food as I haven't tried it yet (the only reason for 4 * , sorry 😅)

Food was amazing but service of sian the elderly lady working on bar was terrible!!! She complained about how there was only 3 of them on today, which as a guest you don't want too hear! And there was a young couple who was waiting after me and the way she approach them was awful her attitude was horrible and her mannerism was discussing!!! She said too them I WANT TO SEE YOUR I'D! The young girl and boy provided her with ID and then asked if they wanted a pint glass with there drink and the young girl replied no can I have a half pint please and the server replied sarcastically only of u bring it back!! I felt awful for them! The way she treated your guests is not right and this issue should be delt with!!!! She shouldn't be aloud to talk the way she does too customers you should be made to feel welcome no matter who u are.

Used to go here regularly with my cousin whose funeral we were attending on this occasion, she actually off it more recently. The night before we called in and all was as I remembered it. I had nachos the boss had seaside fish and chips both of which were OK nothing special but definately adequate. Sweet the the boss had Red Velvet cheesecake I had Black forest sudae. The after funeral buffet was very ordinary with an abundance of sandwiches and crisps but I didn't see much else. I doubt I will be in Coychurch again but if I am I would happily return to The White Horse

I visited here for a wake. A nice clean pub, friendly. Plenty of room and a nice beer garden although the ground is rather uneven. The prices are a bit expensive compared to other places I've been.
