Excellent pub/bar with a vast array of beers on offer. We stumbled across this place on our last night in Brighton though I wish we had found it sooner. Great staff, great service and great beer. I would highly recommend to all.

Visiting Brighton to see my daughter and after a lot of discussion went to this pub. This was on the promise that there would be German sausage and saurkraut, as the website suggested. We got there and were told that there was no food only snacks. We were allowed to bring our own food in which we duly did. We were then told it was last orders at about 09.35 which surprised us. Why don't pubs update their website to reflect what is current so the punters don't feel ripped off and lured to these pubs under false pretences.

Nice pub, lots of beers, but my ale was not great. Should have tried one of them many bottles.

Great local beers and the spirits you would expect to find behind the bar. Knowledgeable and attentive staff make this a very popular place despite only being open for a few weeks at time of writing. Never seen it quiet and I walk past here every day. Seriously competitive prices for locally brewed beer, and an atmosphere that really encourages you back again. Will be using this venue many times over.

Great beer, pizzas and absolutely lovely people (both clientele and behind the bar). Intimate place but always buzzing. All my publican pals and their staff drink here on days off/after closing their own establishments! You can request a two pint glass, not compulsory though. Well worth a visit!

A really excellent pub. Great range of beers and ciders and I had one of the best stouts I've ever tasted, called Devil's Dyke. Really fantastic. There's also some great food, especially the Korean chicken, which is delicious. Very highly recommended and we'll worth a visit (or two). Service was great, with a well informed team behind the bar.

This pub will blow your socks off with the amount of great beers they have on tap. They live and breath everything there is to know about beer. On a Sunday they also have a whole table of cheese available FREE to nibble with your drinks. Such a great addition to the plethora of Brighton pubs. Staff are always happy to give you samples to see which one you like. That’s a sign of a good pub I think, when they care about the customer experience even down to what kind of beer they like. Top notch pub. Try it you’ll love it!

Very good beer selection here and you can order takeaway pizza from the place around the corner. Only problem we found was that there are no lower seats. All bar height stools around tables which are very uncomfortable. Would stay for more than one beer but my arse hurts!!

Now my favourite pub when visiting Brighton. Nice atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable staff. Good selection of own brewed beers, including 3 cask beers at under £4. Well chosen guests and 3 ciders. Fat Boy stout was my favourite this time. It gives the bigger glitzier Brewdog round the corner more than a run for it's money. What's not to like?

Came here because we saw the promo on wriggle (Hot dog + beer for £7.00). Nice place, friendly staff, good beer. 3 stars because they don't have cheese to put in the hot dog (not even the cheesy sausage option) and say what you want but for me it is the end of the world. Cheese ain't healthy but i i love it, makes everything better. Im confident the hot dog will still be alright but it broke my heart. The place is a bit hidden, not the most popular area in Brighton but if you're looking for something quiet and chilled this can be the place for you.

Well set out bar, fine range of beers, good atmosphere. Music was a little on the loud side which made conversation difficult. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. Nice place but just turn down the music a little.

A great spot for a nice beer in Kemptown. Excellent range of beers and (usually) prosecco on tap which is a master stroke. There is a large screen with all the beers and descriptions so it's easy to see what's on offer and try new things. If you're not sure the staff are really friendly and helpful in helping you choose something you'll enjoy. As it's on the back of St James St you get a more relaxed atmosphere than other nearby places. There is sometimes sport on but it doesn't have that sport pub vibe, which is amazing. All round it's a lovely pub with a great team. Five stars.

Found this place through Untappd and for ale lovers, this place is a dream come true. Huge selection of real ales and the staff are very friendly with a good knowledge of the products. Clientelle were very friendly, as you would expect from an ale venue, as opposed to a lager swilling "usual" pub. I visit Brighton quite often and now I know it exists, I will be here every time I visit.

Brighton Bier probably saved this historic pub when they took it over a couple of years back. One of the last surviving Edward Street / Eastern Road boozers (once there were dozens), the Thurlow had landed on hard times. After a name change it was under threat of closure. Now unashamedly aimed at the craft / keg beer market it boasts an ever changing list of thirty or so beers of all styles, colours and strengths with many localy sourced. The staff are friendly and always happy to advise. This is no longer a traditional pub in any sense but it has evolved to keep a new generation of drinkers very happy. Better this than it becoming yet more flats or student accommodation

Cracking pub, and the best place for craft ales which I have yet found in Brighton, with a broad range extending far beyond those brewed in-house. The service is just as good: they even put CHL ice hockey on the TV for me! Can't fault the place.

Great beers coming out the Ying Yang, enough space to pet a dog or two and not spill the neighbors pints, and staff so friendly and beerly-knowledged you would think you're in Beerlandia. Really?
