Just had dinner and drinks here on a wet, windy and cold evening… inside it was warm, welcoming and the food and drinks were wonderful! Myself and my friend had the festive small plates taster menu (huge and all delicious!) and the wine flight to accompany. Both excellent value for money. Can’t fault anything and would eat all of the food again in a flash! Highly recommended!

Bright, spacious and quirkily decorated this is a comfy and friendly neighbourhood pub with warm and helpful staff who actually offer personalised and attentive service - they remembered the previous round and paid attention. A real treat on a Friday evening after a long hard cold week. Customers are also friendly and chat to each other - welcoming strong community spirit in smart casual surroundings.

Love it here. Incredibly friendly staff who give a very warm welcome to dogs. Really nice garden out back and lovely inside. Good selection of small plates which change pretty regularly giving you something new to try. And an amazing Sunday roast too. Top marks!

Great pub in deepest, darkest Kemptown. Staff very friendly and welcoming, lovely food: tapas style dishes. Good drink selection - only drawback being no bitters available, but not the only pub with this problem these days.

The epitomy of a perfect pub. The service is warm, friendly and professional, whilst the menu of small plates is incredibly enticing and lives up to its fantastic writing, and then you come to the wine menu; not only does the list include both conventional and natural wines but also prices them at a point which is welcoming for anyone who may visit. It is perfect! The manager Anya was patient and incredibly helpful in our decisions whilst dealing with an incredibly full pub, however we never felt left alone and always had impeccable service. If you're in the Kemptown area, or Brighton in general, take the time to come here. It is well worth it!

Came here for a local drink and a quick snack, the decor is set to a very high standard, food came our extremely quickly, found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful when deciding on what drinks were right for us. I would recommended this pub, however if you are driving down here you may need to use the neighbouring lidl car park.

Liked the look of this place because of its name and also the photos of the menu on google, the menu seemed interesting. The menu was completely different on arrival and quite sparse but I guess that’s my fault for not checking the website. The waitress/bartender couldn’t do enough to help us, she was the only member of staff we saw while there. Food was okay but deffo not a place for fussy eaters.

Simply incredible food! We started with a tasty cheese board and then had the venison with a rich chocolate jus and the chicken. Very reasonable prices too and nothing was ever any trouble for the staff. I'd come here every week if I could!

Lunch for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Due to Covid we had to have three separate tables but they were very accommodating on booking and we had them all in the conservatory. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was Sunday lunch and we had a choice of 4 roasts and a vegan option. All were well cooked including the vegetables. Only a hour slot for the table but we were able to sit in the garden afterwards for coffee.

Highly recommend this bar! Started going there for a pint after golf during the week and were greeted very well by the friendly staff who were very helpful with the new instructions surrounding Covid - They keep it very clean! All things considered, I took my family there today for a Sunday roast and oh my god, the food was amazing! Found ourselves a lovely hidden gem here in Brighton so if you’re passing, I would definitely stop in for a bite to eat and drink. 5* all the way 👍🏼

Tried this place this evening; heard good things. I wasn't disappointed. I lost my phone in the taxi there. When I explained what happened at the bar I was given the most amazing support and help by one of the staff. She found the details for Uber, dialled the number for me - gave me her phone, poured me a drink and helped me every step of the way. All of the staff were sympathetic and had many solutions for me - and it was busy. What a brilliant bunch of people. The place itself is lovely, really comfortable and inviting. The live music was an added bonus. Cannot rate these guys highly enough, stellar on so many levels. A potentially shi**y night turned lovely. THANK YOU SO MUCH x

Stumbled on this pub/Restaurant on my way to the marina. This has great "posh pub grub", without the "posh price"! Highly recommended. We visit Brighton regularly, definitely a place to re-visit. Only downside was that there were no Bitters on tap, only Lagers. Bottled Bitter was available though. Probably the nearest pub to the nearby Caravan & Motorhome clubsite (Unless I missed one).

This property was once before redesigned as a trendier establishment under the name of Chez Nous. It didn't last that long before reverting back to The Bush under a new owner. I hope this place does enough to attract is target market, it's certainly got a good catchment area, that will only grow with the ongoing expansion of the marina. This place is far nicer than The Bush which wasn't here before. Bar staff are friendly. For the price, the beer is very average. You have a choice of Maltsmith IPA, Lagunitas, Amstel and Birra Moretti (perhaps another one). Good size beer garden. Toilets are clean. At the moment, I don't think it offers much compared to better places around and judging by how many people were there on Friday night, I fear it may go the same way as Chez Nous.

The gentrification of Whitehawk has begun! Nice but waaaaaay tooo expensive for beer. An improvement over the rough pub this used to be but slightly expensive drinks and loungey jazz music aren't to my taste. It's very quiet but to be fair it's a Monday night close to Christmas. Will definitely return.
